Sandy: Are you threatening me, Brooke?

Brooke: I hope I don't have to.

Sandy: I don't believe this. First Bridget, and now you're gonna come down on me?

Brooke: There are things that you don't know about my daughter.

Sandy: Your daughter is overreacting and so are you. I'm not after her husband.

Brooke: You're in love with him, Sandy. I heard you say it.

Sandy: What you heard or overheard was a private conversation.

Brooke: Look, I'm only gonna say this once. I'm sure tonight was an emotional roller coaster for you. You had confronted your attacker, and you'd seen him being dragged off in handcuffs. I get it. I do. And I am relieved for you. And I'm sure Nick is, too. But he only helped you because you are carrying the baby that he is going to be raising with Bridget. So don't fool yourself. Nick only did this for Bridget.

Bridget: Okay, Nick. You know what you can do for me? You can tell me the truth. No more secrets between us. I want to know how you feel about Sandy or Agnes, whatever her name is.

Nick: Bridget, this isn't about Sandy. This is about us. This is about our history together and you wondering, can you trust me or not?

Bridget: Nick, please. Just tell me what you feel for her.

Nick: No.

Bridget: No?

Nick: No.

Bridget: You're not gonna tell me how you feel about Agnes?

Nick: I'm not gonna let you do this to yourself, Bridget, because we are fine.

Bridget: Well, if you can't be completely honest with me, then maybe we're not, Nick. Why can't you answer that question?

Nick: Because if we're going to be completely honest, you really don't want me to answer it.

Sandy: You don't have any idea what Nick did for me.

Brooke: He was just trying to help you.

Sandy: Yeah. I thought you were, too.

Brooke: I am.

Sandy: (Scoffs)

Brooke: Sandy, what you're feeling right now, it isn't love. It can't be.

Sandy: Why? Because I'm not capable of having those kind of feelings for a man? That's not true anymore, Brooke. You know, Nick, he really helped me.

Brooke: Nick is committed to his wife.

Sandy: So she has no reason to worry. And neither do you. Brooke, you know me.

Brooke: Do I, Agnes? Do I really?

Sandy: You know what I've been through, and you know what this night means to me. But you want to make it all about Bridget? And what about Hope? I mean, yeah, Nick and I saved Hope from getting raped tonight. Do you have even a little bit of gratitude towards me for that? I mean, do you have a thank-you in you for me? I don't think I'm the one who needs to get a little perspective here, Brooke.

Bridget: Nick, I need you to answer that question.

Nick: Bridget, you don't want to know how I feel about Sandy. What you want to know is how I feel about you. Do you know why I reached out to Sandy? D-Do you have any idea why it was important that she like me? It's because I want this experience to be perfect for you. For you. You, me and this baby-- that's the family that we wanted, and if you were carrying this child, you know what I'd be doing? I'd be out at 2:00 A.M. trying to find pickles and ice cream, but that's not how it is. She's carrying the baby. And let's try to remember how all this came about. Remember, you're the one who wanted you, me and Sandy to be together on this, to be a team. Do you remember that?

Bridget: Yes, Nick. Yes, I remember.

Nick: So... so it's you-- you know, it's my feeling for you that matters here. Since we decided to do this, it's been about you, really, and protecting you and trying to love you the best way I know how. And nothing you learned tonight should change that, and it certainly shouldn't change our feelings for each other. You see, 'cause I love you, and I love this baby, and the thought of doing anything to hurt either one of you would kill me.

Bridget: Well, the baby is okay.

Nick: The baby's okay, and so are we.

Sandy: Where is all of this motherly concern really coming from? What about Hope? When you walked in here, I half expected you to throw your arms around me. Nick and I saved Hope. I mean, instead you're grilling me about my feelings for Nick. Is that really what's most important to you right now?

Brooke: I'm concerned about both of my daughters' well-being. Other than that, I really don't know how to feel. I was driving here in the ambulance thanking God that I had met Sandy Sommers. You saved Hope from the unthinkable, and you brought joy into Bridgetís life, something for her to look forward to. And up until I walked into this room, you were my family's hero. But how can I be grateful for a woman who has confessed her love for my daughter's husband? How can I be happy that you would save one of my children and then bring so much more pain to the other?

Sandy: Why are you acting like I'm gonna ruin Bridgetís life? I'm giving her the baby that she's always wanted.

Brooke: Yes, a baby that Nick and Bridget are going to raise together. And once you deliver, you'll be out of their lives for good.

Sandy: Right, 'cause I'm just the incubator. I got it. Brooke, wait. Are you gonna-- are you gonna tell Bridget what I said?

Brooke: I'm not gonna keep any more secrets from my daughter.

Nick: Dr. Caspary, hey.

Dr. Caspary: Ah, Nick, good news. I'm discharging Sandy.

Nick: So everything's okay?

Dr. Caspary: She and the baby were very lucky.

Nick: (Sighs) Believe me, we're all lucky.

Dr. Caspary: Mm.

Nick: You have no idea how much Bridget wants this. I can't even tell you-- I-I don't know what we'd do if anything went wrong. Thank you.

Woman: Dr. Kravitz, you have a visitor in the main lobby. Dr. Kravitz, a visitor in the main lobby.

Brooke: Sweetheart.

Bridget: Mom, don't, please. I know that Hope is okay, and I'm very relieved, but I, uh, I can't talk to you right now.

Brooke: Okay. You're angry with me, and you should be. Keeping Sandyís secret was a mistake.

Bridget: (Scoffs) Oh, Mom. You had to know what that was gonna do to me. You and Nick keeping little secrets behind my back?

Brooke: Nick only came to me because he thought that I could help Sandy. Sandy wanted to keep her past a secret.

Bridget: Mom, your loyalty should be to me, not her.

Brooke: Honey, I know. I know, and I'm sorry. But you have to understand what a woman feels after an attack like that.

Bridget: (Sighs)

Brooke: Sandy didn't want you to see her that way.

Bridget: Agnes. Agnes. Her name is Agnes.

Brooke: Yes, look, I am not making excuses for her behavior. But there's something more immediate that we need to deal with right now. Sandy-- Agnes has been through a very emotional ordeal. And add that to the stress of pregnancy and hormones--

Bridget: Yeah, Mom, you don't need to remind me that she's pregnant. I'm very aware of that. Why do you think I'm here and so freaked out? I mean, the person that's carrying my child is someone that-- that I don't know. I mean, she's actually a completely different person. She has a different name, totally different identity. She's irresponsible. She chases down violent, dangerous men. My gosh, I mean, I might as well have just picked up a stranger off the street.

Brooke: Yes, but she is not a stranger. She's a very significant part of your life with Nick. And now that Nick has helped her, he has become significant to her.

Bridget: W-W-What does that mean?

Brooke: Well, you know how Nick can be a-a white knight? It's his nature. And if somebody didn't know him, they might think that--

Bridget: Think what, Mom? What are--what are you trying to tell me?

Brooke: (Sighs) Sandy has developed feelings for Nick. Now it's not mutual. In fact, Nick probably doesn't even know about this. But I-I-I thought it was important that you know. She is attracted to your husband.

Bridget: (Sighs) (Stammers) Has she done something to make you this suspicious?

Brooke: She said it. She loves Nick.

Bridget: That she loves Nick?

Brooke: I heard her talking to Whip.

Bridget: Whip? What? (Chuckles) What's wrong with her, Mom? Is she insane?

Brooke: Honey, there's something else you don't know.

Bridget: (Sniffles)

Brooke: They're cousins.

Bridget: Wh--Agnes and Whip are related?

Brooke: (Sighs)

Bridget: What? Oh, my God. (Chuckles) Oh, my gosh. You knew about this. So this is something else that you and Nick were keeping from me. (Laughs) That's great.

Brooke: Yes, yes, but that doesn't matter right now. What's important is that I confronted her.

Bridget: (Sniffles)

Brooke: I told her that Nick is committed to you.

Bridget: And what did she do? Did she just admit it? I mean, did she even try to deny it?

Brooke: Sandy and Nick have been through an intense emotional experience tonight.

Bridget: (Scoffs)

Brooke: He saved her. All of her feelings now are amplified. He is her hero.

Bridget: (Scoffs)

Brooke: And she feels that she's indebted to him some way. So is it love? No. No, of course it isnít. I just wanted you to know, honey, because it could become a problem. Wait, Bridget.

Bridget: Mom, she's carrying my child. That's bad enough. But I am not letting her get her hooks into my husband.

Dr. Caspary: I don't see any reason to keep you overnight, but please take it easy. And I want you to take this medication three times a day.

Sandy: What is it?

Dr. Caspary: It's a nutritional supplement to make sure you and the baby both stay strong.

Sandy: Okay.

Dr. Caspary: Just a precautionary measure.

Sandy: Thank you, doctor. I will.

Dr. Caspary: So eat well. Get plenty of rest. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that.

Sandy: We will. (Chuckles)

Dr. Caspary: Bye.

Sandy: Dr. Caspary was just-- was just here.

Bridget: I know. I saw her leave.

Sandy: Everything's fine with the baby.

Bridget: Good. You better be very careful it stays that way.

Sandy: Well, I will. This baby means a lot to me, too, Bridget.

Bridget: Right. Because it's Nick's?

Sandy: What?

Bridget: B-Because the child you're carrying is Nick's? Is that why it means so much to you?

Sandy: No. It's because it's the baby that I am giving you and your husband-- the greatest gift, you said. You know how I feel, Bridget.

Bridget: No, actually, I didnít. But I'm-- I'm starting to realize. I think I'm-- I think I'm getting the full picture.

Sandy: Look, whatever your mother heard, she took it out of context.

Bridget: Cut the act. You've been lying. I know you're lying now and so do you. I'm just-- (Chuckles) just now realizing exactly how bad it really is.

Woman: Dr. Forest, dial 1-1-2, please. Dr. Forest, please dial 1-1-2.

Nick: Hey, where's Bridget?

Brooke: (Sighs) With Sandy.

Nick: Oh, well, that's good news.

Brooke: No. No, it's not.

Nick: Why isn't it?

Brooke: I was talking with Sandy, and she thinks she's in love with you.

Nick: What?!

Brooke: Yes. (Sighs) I was in the room behind the curtain, and they didn't know I was there, and she was talking to Whip, and she told him she thinks she's in love with you.

Nick: Well, you didn't say anything to Bridget about this, did you? That--

Brooke: Nick, I had to. There can't be any more secrets.

Nick: My God, Brooke.

Brooke: No, I know. I know. I'm sorry. I had to.

Nick: (Sighs)

Bridget: You're a fraud and a thief.

Sandy: I haven't stolen a-anything from you, Bridget.

Bridget: Do you want to?

Sandy: (Chuckles) Whatever you think you know--

Bridget: Agnes, why don't you explain to me exactly what you meant when you told Whip that you're in love with my husband.

Sandy: I don't want to be your enemy, Bridget. If you and your mother keep treating me like this--

Bridget: Do you not think that I have a right to be upset? Nick lied to me because you begged him to. All I want to know is why.

Sandy: I told you why.

Bridget: It's not good enough anymore. You've told me so many things, Agnes, most of which have turned out to not be true.

Sandy: I know, and I'm sorry. I apologize.

Bridget: "I'm sorrys" don't work anymore. It's unacceptable. You've broken my trust.

Sandy: Okay. Well, I, um, have been released, and I am exhausted. I want to go home.

Bridget: You know, we're not--we're not done.

Nick: This is bad, Brooke. This is bad. After everything that's happened tonight, and now this?

Brooke: I know. I know.

Nick: I never crossed a line with Sandy ever, in no way whatsoever.

Brooke: Are you sure? You never did anything...

Nick: Ever.

Brooke: To make her feel--

Nick: Nothing. Now I've been here to help her the same as you, and Bridget would have done the same thing if she was in our place.

Brooke: Okay, okay, well, you have to end this friendship that you have with Sandy-- no more phone calls, no more e-mails, no connection whatsoever. She is your surrogate, and that's complicated enough right there. Any more connection beyond that, that could be disastrous.

Nick: I understand, and I give you my word. Now Bridget feels betrayed, but she has not been in no way by me. Now listen, you go on back to Hope, okay? It's been a tough night. Be grateful we are where we are.

Brooke: Okay. Thank you. (Sighs)

Bridget: Agnes, please, tell me the truth. Do you feel like you're in love with my husband?

Sandy: You want to know how I feel?

Bridget: Yes.

Sandy: I feel alive, and I'm not gonna apologize for that.

Bridget: (Sighs)

Sandy: I know that when I walk out of this hospital, the man who attacked me is behind bars. My nightmare's over after five long years, and I don't have to be afraid anymore.

Bridget: And do you f-feel like that's because of Nick?

Sandy: Yes.

Bridget: Your feelings for him--

Sandy: That I can have feelings for him, for any man, besides fear and mistrust.

Bridget: Like--like... (Sighs) attraction?

Sandy: I would never act on it.

Bridget: Will you stop telling me what you think I want to hear? You're lying to yourself and to me. You thought you could have something with Nick. That's why you asked him to keep secrets from me, even your real name. 'Cause that would create an intimate, special bond between the two of you. And that would make you a direct threat to my marriage and my family.

Sandy: You have it backwards. I'm trying to help you create your family.

Bridget: And when you're done, we are done. Do you understand? As soon as you have that baby, you're gonna be out of our lives.

Sandy: (Sniffles)

Bridget: So whatever love that you think you have for my husband, it's never gonna be returned. The fantasy that you're creating in your head-- it needs to be over. Agnes, it's over. You're a liar and a traitor, and Nick would never be with a woman like that. Never.
