Brooke: I love you, Hope. From the moment I knew I was pregnant, I loved you. I am begging you, please, give your mother another chance. Come home to me.
Nick: How long is the testing of the D.N.A. gonna take?
Zev: This might take awhile. If you want, I can call you--
Sandy: No, no, we'll-- we'll wait here.
Zev: Well, the good news is thanks to your detective work, Mr. Marone, Graham Darros' D.N.A. is all over this piece of gum.
Graham: Yeah, no, seriously. No, yeah, invite the boys. Bring whoever you want. All right. Cool. I'll see you tonight. Later. Joel. What's up, baby? It's Graham Darros. Yeah, look, I'm back in L.A. You know it. (Chuckles) Listen, I'm having a party tonight. You in? Nice. Yeah, yeah. Look, bring whoever you want. Perfect. (Sighs) I got a gorgeous girl I want you to meet. Wait till you see this one.
Steffy: Here are the mock-ups for the "Hope for the Future" promo kit.
Katie: I guess that means you're still on board.
Steffy: You're not gonna push me out, Katie, even though that's exactly what you want.
(Cell phone rings)
Brooke: Hope? Are you okay?
Hope: I'm fine.
Brooke: What happened?
Hope: I swerved off the road.
Brooke: (Sighs) I shouldn't have called you while you were driving. I'm sorry. Just... (Sighs) I'm glad you're okay. Tell me where you are, and I'll come get you.
Hope: No, I-I can't deal with you right now.
Brooke: Honey, we need to talk.
Hope: I'm not ready to talk.
(Phone hangs up)
Nick: Hey, Bridget, it's me. Hi, honey. Um, listen, I'm dealing with something right now. Uh, everything's gonna be fine, but it--it's gonna be awhile. I'll--I'm gonna be late tonight. I just wanted to let you know. And I'll fill you in later. I love you.
Sandy: Is Bridget okay?
Nick: I left a message.
Sandy: I'm about to jump out of my skin.
Nick: Well, hopefully, it won't take that much longer.
Sandy: You know what? If Graham Darros is the one who did this to me, if he's the guy, he's going down. I'll take care of the bastard myself if I have to.
Katie: If I wanted you gone, Steffy, I'd fire you.
Steffy: But you can't, not really, because if you did, my--my dad would leave. My grandfather would leave. And then where would you be? No, you are playing one subtle game. You're trying to push me out by supporting Hope.
Katie: I made a business decision, and a good one, I might add.
Steffy: Mm-hmm. I think you're still upset about what happened with Bill and me. Your marriage seems secure. I just don't know why I'm such a threat to you.
Katie: (Sighs) You're not a threat, Steffy.
Steffy: Well, I talked to my mom. This whole thing about Hope's paternity could blow up in everyone's face, including yours, so don't say I didn't warn you.
(Knock on door)
Rick: Knock, knock.
Rick: Hey. I have, uh, some proofs for you for the "Hope for the Future" campaign. They turned out pretty well.
Katie: Great. Thanks.
Rick: Uh, I just noticed that the photographer on this is Graham Darros.
Steffy: Yes. He is one of the best.
Rick: Yeah, yeah, yes, he is. It's just that when I was working at International, I didn't exactly hear the best things about him.
Katie: Well, what did you hear?
Rick: That he has the reputation for being kind of a creep.
Graham: Hey, what's up, fellas? Hey, come on in. Make yourselves a drink. What's up, baby? How you doing? Hey, listen, I got a 40-year-old bottle of scotch with your name on it, Richie.
Richie: All right.
Graham: Don--don't drink the whole thing. (Whispers) Where is she? (Normal voice) Hey, sweetie, where are ya?
Hope: Um, I swerved off the road a little.
Graham: Oh, God. Are you okay?
Hope: Yeah, I'm totally fine.
Graham: Okay. Well, um, are--are you, uh, still coming over?
Hope: Yeah, um, I'm on my way. I'll--I'll see you soon, okay?
Graham: I'll be waiting.
[ Playing "Mary Had a Little Lamb" off-key ]
Nick: Here you go. I got us some chamomile. It's supposed to calm the nerves.
Sandy: Thanks. I could use something a little stronger right about now.
Nick: Mnh-mnh. Not with you know what growing in your belly there.
Sandy: I know. I'm just teasing. You know what? It--it--it's weird. Ever since I became pregnant, I feel different. It's like I'm seeing everything through new eyes. It's kind of cool. It's like I have this whole new sense of myself. I gotta tell ya, even if we never find the guy who hurt me, I want you to know something. I'm gonna be okay.
Nick: Well, I'm glad I could help, but, uh, I gotta tell Bridget about this. She needs to know everything. She needs to be let in. I can‘t--I can't keep this secret from her about your past.
Sandy: Nick, no.
Nick: No, no, no, your past, your name change.
Sandy: I really don't think that's a good idea.
Nick: No, no, please, hear me out here. Now she's a loving, beautiful, kind person. She will understand. Hopefully, if we get the answers we need here, we'll be able to close the book on this entire chapter of your life.
Katie: Tell us about Graham's reputation.
Rick: Well, his reputation speaks for itself. He's one of the top fashion photographers in the business. He works with all the top models and fashion designers, you name it.
Steffy: And--and that's why I tracked him down.
Katie: Maybe that wasn't such a good idea?
Steffy: Tell us everything you know about him.
Rick: Well, look, this is just based on what I've heard. You know that everybody gossips. I don't want to throw the guy under the bus. But you should know there's been some talk coming out of Milan and--and Paris and even New York. Word is this guy doesn't treat his models very well.
Graham: What's up, fellas?
Man: What's up, man?
Graham: Come on in. Party's just getting started. Joel, what's up, baby?
Joel: Graham Darros.
Graham: Been a long time, man.
Joel: (Chuckles) How are ya?
Graham: Come in. Come in.
Joel: Well, welcome back to town, mate.
Graham: Mm. Good to be back.
Man: Where's your little starlet?
Joel: Ah, is this this, uh, little hottie you've been telling me about?
Graham: Mm. Hope. Yeah, she's, uh, she's on her way. She's pretty special. You'll see.
Brooke: I'm so worried about Hope.
Ridge: We'll hear from her soon.
Brooke: Ridge, I want her to come back. I want to know that she is safe. She almost got into an accident.
Ridge: But she didn't, Logan. Just give her some space. She'll get back to you soon enough.
Brooke: I'll just never forgive myself if something were to happen to her.
(Dance music playing)
Graham: Ohh, there's my girl. I thought you were never gonna get here. Come on. Hi.
Hope: Hi. (Giggles)
Graham: Come on in.
Hope: Oh, there are a lot of people here.
Graham: Yeah, I'm just having some friends over. You know me. When I'm back in town, I like to throw parties. Tonight is special.
Hope: You know what? Maybe I should go.
Graham: Why? You just got here.
Hope: Yeah, I-I-I know. I-I just...
Graham: No, no, no, look--look at me, okay? This is what you need right now. You've had a really hard night, and I-I'm gonna help you get your mind off things.
Hope: You know what? I just--I'm not even sure if I'm in the mood.
Graham: Hey, hey, hey. You are not going anywhere. Give me this. Come on.
Graham: Besides, you called me, remember?
Hope: Yeah, I know, but, really, I can crash at a friend's house.
Graham: Look, you're not-- you're not putting me out, if that's what you're worried about. Come on, you're safe here. So just calm down, relax, let your hair down and try to have some fun. Come on, let me introduce you to everyone. Hey, guys, this is Hope, the beautiful girl I was telling you about. Make her, uh, feel at home, will ya? I'll be right back. I know just what you need tonight.
Joel: Hi. How you doing?
Brooke: (Sighs) Hope's turned off her phone.
Ridge: She wants to be left alone.
Brooke: She must be so hurt, so angry.
Ridge: You'll explain everything to her, Logan.
Brooke: She overheard us say such horrible things. That was very painful for her.
Ridge: Sweetheart, listen to me. Hope will take this time to think about it. She'll realize she was taking things out of context. She'll understand none of those harsh words were about our feelings for her. We were just discussing what the media backlash would do to her. We both love her. Deep down, she knows that.
Brooke: I just want to hold her, let her know how loved she is.
Ridge: We'll have a chance to explain that we were only trying to protect her. Everything we said was out of love. She'll understand. Just give it some time.
Steffy: Rick, if Graham Darros is a bad guy, we need to know.
Rick: Look, like I said, this is just what I've heard. But I have also heard models talking, like, warning each other if they ever shoot with him. Bottom line, if you take pictures with this guy, you're gonna take the best pictures of your life. But his intentions are not always professional.
Katie: So he hits on his models? Great.
Rick: That's his rep, yeah. I just thought you should know this if you're considering using him.
Katie: Yeah. Thank you for telling us. I mean, we're still in the preliminary stages. We don't have to use him. And I will definitely check it out.
Steffy: No, Katie, I can take care of that. I feel completely responsible. And if he's a bad guy, we need to know, especially since he's working so close to Hope. I'll talk to her. I'll tell her to keep her guard up.
Graham: Glass of wine?
Hope: Oh, no. No, I'm okay.
Graham: Oh, come on. Live a little.
Hope: I really shouldn't, Graham. You know, I'm underage.
Graham: Okay, I-I don't see any, uh, cops or parents around, do you? Look, I won't tell if you won’t. Plus, it'll make you feel better.
Hope: I don't know. I'm still really upset from earlier.
Graham: Which is exactly why you should drink. Plus, this is very special. I brought this all the way back from France. It's from my favorite vineyard in Bordeaux. I was just, you know, hoping that you'd share it with me.
Graham: What do you say?
Hope: Okay. (Laughs)
Graham: That's my girl. To a, uh, very special evening.
Sandy: The suspense is killing me.
Nick: Hang in there.
Sandy: (Sighs) My heart is just--it's pounding, you know? I didn't think that it was Graham. I believed him all of those years ago. I believed him. But now I don't know. I mean, I'm--I--we're so close to maybe having an answer. And... I just-- I mean, I don't know. Could he be the guy? I've waited five years, Nick. I have waited five long, torturous years, you know, for answers, for closure, as they say. (Exhales) You deserve a lot of credit for this.
Nick: Me? No. Please. Listen, you're the one with the courage that had to follow through.
Sandy: Well, none of this would even be happening if you hadn't convinced me that my life was worth getting back. You know, you fought for answers, for justice, and you hel--you just-- you helped me. You may have helped thousands of women who--whose lives were locked up in those unopened evidence kits. I'm always gonna be grateful to you.
Nick: I still need to tell Bridget about this, regardless. Whatever the outcome is here, I'm gonna tell her. I'm gonna tell her tonight.
Joel: Hey, so, hope, you're a model, are ya?
Hope: Um, yeah, I-I guess.
Graham: I guess? I guess. (Laughs) You are such a tease. Come on, of course you're a model. You are the new face for Forrester Creations, aren't you, baby?
Hope: Uh, yeah. Yeah, right. Yeah.
Graham: God, when did you become such a flirt? She is a handful, isn't she, guys?
Hope: Um... hey, Graham...
Hope: I don't feel very well. Like, I-I think I had too much wine.
Graham: What are you talking about? You are having the time of your life. Plus, you told me you wanted to party tonight.
Hope: I did?
Graham: Yeah, you did. Come on, you're having a great time, aren't you? Yeah, yeah, yeah, you are.
Graham: Dancing, flirting with all these guys, dressing all sexy. (Chuckles) You love all this attention, don't you?
Joel: All right. Darros.
Graham: Hey, thank you. (Chuckles)
Man: Here, Hope. Have a shot.
Joel: All right. (Chuckles)
Graham: Drink up, baby. It's good for you. I'm telling you, it's gonna make you feel so much better.
All: (Chanting) Hope, Hope, Hope, Hope, Hope, Hope, Hope...
Graham: There you go, baby!
All: (Chanting continues)
Graham: (Howls) Thanks for coming out.
Joel: All right.
Graham: All right. See you later, bud. Hey, don't drive.
Graham: Oh, my God. I had to get these guys out of here. You were gettin' kind of wild.
Hope: I was? Um... Graham...
Hope: I feel really weird right now. I-I think I need to lie down.
Graham: Oh, no. Okay. That's probably a good idea. Here, come on. I'll help you up. Whoa. (Chuckles) Wow. Whoa, care-- oh, okay. I got ya.
Brooke: Hope's phone is still off.
Ridge: She's upset.
Brooke: She has every right to be.
Ridge: Logan, your daughter's a smart, levelheaded young woman. She won't do anything dangerous.
Brooke: I pray you're right.
Ridge: She's probably at a girlfriend's house now.
Brooke: (Sighs) Talking about how terrible her mother is.
Ridge: Oh, don't say that. You're a wonderful, wonderful, loving mother to Hope. You always have been.
Brooke: I really messed up this time, Ridge.
Ridge: Mothers and their teenage daughters have issues all the time. I think in the clear light of day, Hope will remember how close the two of you are. She loves you. Nothing's ever gonna change that.
Sandy: All these years waiting, and it's come down to this, sitting here in this lab waiting to find out if we found the guy. (Sighs) Six months ago, I never would have believed I would even be at this point. I mean, I had just resigned myself that I would never know who did this to me. I'd always be locking my doors and sleeping with baseball bats under my bed. That was my life. You know what's weird?
Nick: What's weird?
Sandy: I honestly don't think that I was ready to face the man who hurt me. I couldn't have done it on my own. And then you came along.
Nick: Oh, no, no, no... (Scoffs) please. You are one very tough woman. You just needed somebody to believe in ya and push you along a little bit.
Sandy: Thank you for that. I-I want to get this guy, Nick. I want him to pay for what he did, not just for me, for all of the women that he's ever victimized or will victimize in the future. If Graham Darros is the guy, I'm gonna make sure he never touches another woman ever again.
Graham: Who knew you were such a little party girl, huh?
Hope: I'm not.
Graham: Oh, well, you could have fooled me.
Hope: I only had one glass of wine.
Graham: Well, it must have gone straight to your head. But don't worry. I made all the guys leave. You were making some serious moves on my friends.
Hope: N-No, no.
Graham: No, it's okay. Look, you're emotional. You're upset. You want to, um, you want to tell me what happened, hmm?
Hope: My parents-- they said I was a stain on the family, a mistake.
Graham: God, I am so sorry. That must have hurt so bad. I would never hurt you like that. I'm your friend, Hope. Okay, you can trust me. I am so glad you came to see me tonight.
Graham: I am gonna help put what happened to you out of your head.
Hope: I just want to forget.
Graham: And you will. You will, come morning, Hope. It'll be like nothing ever happened. For now, you just need to relax, okay, and rest. There you go. (Sighs) (Chuckles) In the morning, it'll be like nothing ever happened.
