Ridge: Is this how you pictured it?

Brooke: Hanging out with my husband, my oh-so-attractive husband on Christmas Eve? (Giggles)

Ridge: Sitting in front of our fire, a little hot chocolate...

Brooke: Mmm.

Ridge: No place to be. Just the two of us together.

Brooke: Mm-hmm. (Giggles) Underneath the mistletoe?

Ridge: You know, that's one of my favorite holiday traditions.

Brooke: (Giggles)

Brooke: (Sighs) And loving you and being loved by you-- it's like having Christmas every single day all year long.

(Indistinct conversations)

Whip: Hey, hey, hey, you guys! This is a g-rated party! You've been parked underneath that sprig for half an hour.

Bridget: Ooh! Ooh! Sorry.

Nick: I'm not sorry.

Bridget: Mm-hmm. Mm.

Jackie: You know what? You can kiss as much as you want, as far as I'm concerned.

Bridget: Oh, thank you, Mom.

Nick: Thank you, Mother.

Jackie: You be quiet.

Whip: What?

Jackie: Oh, my gosh! Look! Look at Jack!

Whip: Aw! Look.

Owen: Hey.

Jackie: He's an elf. Oh, darling.

Owen: Here he comes.

Jackie: You are the biggest kid of all, you know that?

Whip: Hey, buddy!

Nick: Okay, everybody, hey, hey, hey. This is all about celebrating, okay? The entire company's been invited here tonight, and we have--we have food, and we have presents and we have--come here-- one of those cookies, right?

Boy: (Laughs)

Nick: And this is all about good will, so I say we follow Jack's lead here along with Owen's, and we have the best Christmas this ragtag group has ever had. What do you say, huh?

All: (Cheering)

Nick: Go get some more cookies. Cookie time.

All: Merry Christmas.

Bridget: How great is this?

Brooke: We better savor this special private moment. Before too long, mom and dad are going to bring the kids back. Mm.

(Doorbell rings)

Thorne: Ridge, Brooke, you home? I need to talk to you guys.

Ridge: Thorne, come on in. What is it?

Thorne: Sorry. I should have called.

Ridge: What's wrong?

Thorne: (Sighs) I'm worried about mother-- I mean, spending Christmas Eve over at Jackie M.'s. Ridge, you know that she lives for her children, her grandchildren, and this is the first Christmas since her mother passed away. She can't be happy over there. There's no way she can be.

Nick, children: Dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh over the fields we go laughing all the way ha ha ha! Bells on bobtails ring making spirits bright what fun it is to laugh and sing a sleighing song tonight

Whip: Here we go!

All: Oh jingle bells, jingle bells jingle all the way oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh hey! Jingle bells, jingle bells jingle all the way oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh oh!

Stephanie: When's the last time you saw so many happy faces?

Pam: I know. Really puts you in the Christmas spirit, doesn't it?

Stephanie: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Pam: I wasn't sure how I was gonna feel--you know, our first Christmas without mom. I miss her.

Stephanie: I know you do. But we gave her a wonderful send-off.

Pam: Yeah, we did. Who can ever forget those final glorious words of wisdom? "Sit up straight, Pammy."

Stephanie: (Chuckles) (gasps) Is that mom's wristwatch, the Christmas one?

Pam: Yeah, that grandma gave her. (Laughs)

Stephanie: What other jewelry do you have? You know who I've been thinking about all day? Sally. I usually get a Christmas card from her about this time, boasting about all the cabana boys, you know?

Pam: But what, you didn't this year?

Stephanie: No, I didnít. Funny. But I'm sure I'll--I'll hear from her. May I?

Pam: What?

Stephanie: I'm gonna toast her.

Pam: Oh.

Stephanie: Here's to you, Sal. I love you and I miss you. Merry Christmas, wherever you are.

Bridget: Hey, you. (Giggles) Thank you so much for coming. My Christmas would not have been the same without you, without you and our baby.

Ridge: Thorne, I'm worried about mother, too. I don't know what we could really do.

Thorne: She's still not coming to dad's tomorrow?

Ridge: I told her we'd pick her up on the way, but she said, "don't bother." She's got other plans.

Thorne: You're buying that?

Ridge: Look, if you're asking do I want our mother at our traditional family gathering, of course I do. It's not gonna be the same without her. But as hard as it is to accept, it's gonna be different this year.

Thorne: (Scoffs) Yeah, you bet it is. Ridge, she's lost her home, she's lost her husband, she got kicked out of a company that she devoted most of her adult life to. (Scoffs) Talk about someone who needs to be around their family. She's our mother, and you know how she cherishes our holiday family traditions. We got to do something. We got to do something tonight, now.

(Indistinct conversations)

Jackie: What do you think you're doing? Everybody is going to think--

Owen: Everybody's going to what? Shh!

Jackie: (Giggles)

Owen: I would just like to spend a moment alone with my beautiful, intoxicating wife to give her... this.

Jackie: What? (Sighs)

Owen: That's where it all began on a little beach in Hawaii.

Jackie: Surrounded by palm trees.

Owen: Yes, and if we only knew how much our marriage would be challenged... but you know, if we keep our love strong, it doesn't matter, Mrs. Knight.

Jackie: (Giggles)

Owen: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: Nobody's trying to shut your mother out. In fact, we invited her, and she declined.

Thorne: Well, Brooke, can you blame her for not wanting to come to "Donna's home"?

Brooke: We'll do something here. She can come over and you and Aly, and we'll save some of the presents and some of the goodies, and we'll make our own tradition.

Thorne: It's--it's not going to be the same. (Sighs)

Ridge: Thorne, where are you going?

Brooke: (Sighs)

Thorne: I'm gonna go to Jackie M.'s and see if I can cheer up mother, 'cause I guarantee you, she's going to need it.

(Door opens)

(door closes)

(indistinct conversations)

Jackie: I am so glad you're here with us, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Sugarplum, I wouldn't be anyplace else in this world, and you know it.

Jackie: (Giggles)

Stephanie: Merry Christmas.

Sandy: Oh, you guys, you really shouldn't have done this.

Bridget: Yes, of course we should

Nick: Well, we--yeah, we should have.

Bridget: (Laughs) You are carrying our child. Nothing we could ever do could repay you for that. You'll never know how grateful we are.

Nick: Let's go see what's happening next door here, shall we?

Sandy: Okay.

Bridget: (Giggles)

(train whistle blows)

Girl: Can you help me?

Stephanie: Well, of course. What would you like me to do, Rachel?

Rachel: Can you please tie this around my bear's neck?

Stephanie: Oh, is he cold?

Rachel: Yes.

Stephanie: Oh, well, we better get him nice and warm. This will help. I can see. There you are, okay?

Rachel: Thank you.

Stephanie: Oh, you're more than welcome, and thank you for spending Christmas Eve with us.

Jackie: Everybody, the moment we've all been waiting for-- dinner!

Owen: Dinner is served Jackie M. style, so go get it!

All: (Cheering)

Owen: Come on. Let's go ahead. Go.

Jackie: Come on, everybody. Let's eat.

(Indistinct conversations)

Stephanie: What a wonderful surprise!

Thorne: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: Oh, honey.

Thorne: Hi.

Stephanie: Hi.

Thorne: I, uh, I came by 'cause I, uh, I was worried. I thought maybe you might be lonely.

Stephanie: Oh.

Thorne: But I see that you are having the time of your life.

Stephanie: You know me, honey. The moment you start counting your regrets instead of your blessings, you've lost the game.

Thorne: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: We know Christmas is just a state of mind.

Thorne: Yeah.

Stephanie: It's what you make of it.

Thorne: And you choose to make it here, huh?

Stephanie: Yeah, I do.

Thorne: (Sighs)

Stephanie: Thorne, you know-- you know that you and your brother and your sisters are always number one with me. It's just I-- I don't know-- I found this crazy special place that I kind of fit in.

Thorne: I know. I understand, Mother. I really do. I didn't at first, but I do now. (Laughs) Merry Christmas. I love you.

Stephanie: Oh, I love you, baby boy. I love you.

Thorne: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: Merry Christmas.

Thorne: Merry Christmas.

Thorne: I just came from seeing mother at Jackie M.

Ridge: And?

Thorne: It's total mayhem over there, but it's the good kind.

Brooke: Well, how do you mean?

Thorne: Well, I--the kids are--they're playing. They're eating. They're caroling. They're wrapping presents. And there's mother-- she's right in the middle of it having a great time.

Ridge: Are you sure she wasn't just, uh, sh--

Thorne: Pretending for my benefit, Ridge? No, she wasnít. I'm serious. I mean, mother has found a niche around people who really care about her. That's a great thing, man. It really was. It's--she's happy. She's truly happy over at Jackie M.

(Indistinct conversations)

Nick: I can't eat another bite. I-I mean, I'm stuffed. Oh!

Bridget: Oh.

Whip: Well, I'm glad that Nick and Bridget talked you into coming.

Sandy: Me, too.

Whip: Mm. And I'm glad that you and I are getting along together a little bit better, huh? Merry Christmas, cuz.

Sandy: You, too.

Jackie: Everyone, everyone, I would just like to thank you for a lovely Christmas Eve. Your loyalty, your dedication, they never fail to move me and remind me of just how privileged I am to work with each and every one of you. I mean, we have just become this glorious, amazing, ragtag family, haven't we? We--we care about one another.

All: (Laughing)

(clapping)

Jackie: And that is just so special really. More than anything, I would like to thank Nicky, my son, who is responsible for so much of the success that we have here at Jackie M. But more importantly, for the true sense of family that I believe we have all found here. God bless you all.

(clapping)

Stephanie: Well, Nicky, your mother's right.

All: (Laughing)

Stephanie: Hard to believe I'd ever say that. But, uh, we all are here because of you, especially me. You came along and gave me a good kick in the rump and just when I needed it and made me believe that I still had something to contribute to this world. And so, um, thank you. Thank you for your friendship, your love and all the love that's in this room that we extend to one another. That's what this season is all about. That's what tonight's all about-- love, hope, peace. Let's say a prayer for peace for the world. And let's extend good will to everyone, don't you think?

Nick: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: Amen.

Pam: Amen.

Nick: Amen.

Jackie: Amen.

Brooke: Our heart in the sand-- our symbol of our love forever. This is the perfect gift. Thank you. Thank you for this ornament. And thank you for not giving up on me. When I was on that plane going to Paris, I thought that our love story was over for good. And then I looked out the window, and I saw our heart in the sand. And I knew then... I really knew... that our love story would never end, despite all the challenges, all the people that doubted that we would be happy, and we really did find a way back to each other. Our love would always bring us back to each other.

Brooke: And here we are. (Laughs) (sniffles) It's Christmas. We're here-- just you and me together for all time. (Sniffles) Merry Christmas, my sweetheart. I love you. I love you with all my heart.   (Sighs)

Jackie: You want to see Santa?

Children: Yeah!

Jackie: Yes? Okay. Let's see if Santa is... there he is!

Children: Yay!

Nick: Ho ho ho ho! Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas, one and all! Merry Christmas.

Children: Santa! Santa!

Nick: Lovely boys and girls. Mrs. Santa, will you hand me my book, please?

Bridget: Of course.

Nick: If I could have all the boys and girls listen very closely, 'cause Santa will read you his Christmas story. "Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care... wondering eyes should appear, but a miniature sleigh an eight tiny reindeer."

Bridget: (Gasps)

Nick: "With a little old driver so lively and quick, I knew in a moment, it must be Saint Nick. More rapid than eagles, his coursers... but I heard him exclaim, 'ere he drove out of sight, 'Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night.'"

Nick: Ho ho ho ho!

Stephanie: And we're all going to remember tonight for a long time, because we got a chance to spend this Christmas together as a family, not the usual family, but a family, nonetheless.

All: (Laughter)

Nick: Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.

Stephanie: You know, sometimes the most memorable moments happen in the most unlikely of places-- for instance, a manger, a baby. The birth of that child brought the promise of hope and peace to the world. So with that in mind, God bless each and every one of you. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Pam: Good night!

Nick: Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.

Pam: Yay!

All: Joy to the world the lord has come let earth receive her king

Nick: Merry Christmas!

All: Let every heart prepare him room

Nick: Ho ho ho ho ho.

All: And heaven and nature sing and heaven and nature sing and heaven and heaven

Nick: Merry Christmas!

All: And nature sing. Joy to the world the lord has come let earth receive her king let every heart

Nick: Ho ho ho ho ho.

All: Prepare him room and heaven and nature sing and heaven and nature sing and heaven and heaven and nature sing

Nick: Merry Christmas!

Pam: Whoo!

Stephanie: Hooray! Merry Christmas!

Nick: Ho ho ho ho ho!

Whip: Merry Christmas!

Nick: Merry Christmas!

Susan Flannery: From our family to yours...

All: Happy Holidays! (Cheering)
