Nick: Ooh. (Chuckles) Ooh...

Brooke: A man who gloats when he's alone. (Scoffs)

Nick: Hello, Brooke.

Brooke: Sales figures?

Nick: You care to look, Brooke?

Brooke: No, thank you.

Nick: All right. To what do I owe?

Brooke: Oh, I was just... (Sighs) wondering if you talked to your surrogate lately.

Nick: Yes, I have. I went by her place the other day. Whip was there.

Brooke: Whip?

Nick: Turns out, he's her cousin.

Brooke: Wha-- have you told any of this to Bridget?

Nick: Sandy begged me not to.

Brooke: What happened with her, Nick?

Nick: It's pretty much what we surmised-- there was a party. There was some booze and whatever else. She woke up alone.

Brooke: She had been sexually assaulted.

Nick: Yes.

Brooke: Oh, dear God. (Sighs)

Sandy: Nick? You told her?

Steffy: Hey, Dad. You wanted to see me?

Ridge: Come on in, sweetheart.

(Knock on door)

Katie: Ridge, do you have an E.T.A. for those designs?

Ridge: No, Katie, I donít.

Katie: Well, I'd like to take a look as soon as possible.

Ridge: Why? You'd like to review them?

Katie: I'd just like to take a look. Let me know when you're done.

Ridge: Will do.

Steffy: I can't believe she talks to you like that.

Ridge: Yeah, kind of like she's the C.E.O. or something.

Steffy: Well, she shouldn't be C.E.O. You should. I can't believe you're actually taking orders from her, Dad.

Ridge: Well, I won't be for long. I have a plan.

Sandy: What are you doing? How could you betray my trust like that?

Nick: Sandy--

Brooke: No, he-- he didn't betray your trust.

Sandy: I knew that I couldn't trust you.

Nick: You asked me not to tell Bridget, and I haven't, but I think that you need some help.

Sandy: That's Bridgetís mother.

Brooke: You know what? I tend to agree with you. Bridget shouldn't know about this.

Sandy: Well, I didn't want anyone to know about this.

Nick: (Sighs)

Brooke: Nick, could I talk to Sandy alone, please?

Nick: I-I'm sorry. I did not mean to betray your confidence. But you're carrying my child inside of you. Now Brookeís someone who can help you, because she's knows exactly what you're going through.

Sandy: You, too? Well, whatever it is that you're gonna tell me, I've already heard. I don't want a therapist, and I don't need a treatment center. I want to be left alone.

Ridge: Your grandfather's coming back to work.

Steffy: He is?

Ridge: Yeah, he's humbly returning to the company to work for Bill Spencer.

Steffy: What are you two up to?

Ridge: Oh, just fulfilling Mr. Spencer's mandate-- creating the best line of clothing possible, one with real impact.

Steffy: But how is that gonna get the company back?

Ridge: Like everything else, Bill thinks he knows a hell of a lot about the fashion world. Well, we're gonna teach him a lesson, a very costly lesson.

Steffy: How?

Ridge: My dear, tell me what you think of our new line.

Stephanie: Look, I don't mean to be rude, but I'm swamped.

Bridget: No, it's fine. I get it. I-I'll catch you later. I'm sorry.

Stephanie: Well, you should be. It's all your fault.

Bridget: My fault?

Stephanie: Yes, all those fabulous designs for the new line that you did. Everyone's raving about them.

Bridget: Thank God. I mean, I did see the preorders. I know what you're dealing with.

Stephanie: And I gotta get them processed.

Bridget: Stephanie, that's too much work for you.

Stephanie: No, it's not. It's part of my job. What are you talking about?

Bridget: (Stammers) Well, you need someone to help you. What about Pam? Where is she?

Stephanie: That's your idea of help, darling.

Bridget: All right, well, then you need an assistant.

Stephanie: No, I don't need an assistant. I don't have time to hire somebody, interview somebody, train them. No.

Bridget: Nick. Perfect. I need to talk to you about something.

Nick: What?

Bridget: Stephanie needs an assistant desperately.

Stephanie: No. Stop this. I am not desperate.

Nick: An assistant.

Bridget: Yes, immediately.

Stephanie: No. Stop. What are you talking about?

Nick: Wait a minute. Wait a minute here. Uh, I think I may have somebody.

Bridget: Who?

Nick: Sandy.

Stephanie: The surrogate?

Bridget: Can she do it?

Nick: She needs something, Bridget. So...

Stephanie: I don't have time to train somebody for a job like this.

Nick: Uh, Stephanie, I don't think you'll have to. Just trust me on this. Give it a try. If it doesn't work out, we'll find somebody else. It would mean a lot to me.

Brooke: You want to be left alone.

Sandy: That's right.

Brooke: Do you blame yourself for what happened to you?

Sandy: No. I was abused.

Brooke: Exactly.

Sandy: I was too trusting, though.

Brooke: Yeah. That won't happen again.

Sandy: Never.

Brooke: And the best way to make sure that won't happen is to shut yourself away from the world. There's too many men out there.

Sandy: Looking to take advantage.

Brooke: Well, now you know Bridget and Nick, and Nick seems okay, right?

Sandy: He's a man.

Brooke: Guilt by association.

Sandy: (Chuckles) You do understand.

Brooke: Yeah. (Sighs) Yeah, I do. I've been there. I understand your pain. I understand the feeling of loss of self-respect. And that's why Nick thought that he could tell me what happened to you.

Sandy: He wasn't trying to hurt me. I get that now.

Brooke: No. He just wanted to help you, and so do I.

Sandy: It's hard for me to believe that you have been through something like this, too.

Brooke: A lot of women have.

Sandy: And now you're married to Ridge Forrester?

Brooke: Yeah. Yeah, it's a great marriage.

Sandy: How did that happen?

Brooke: Uh... (Sighs) I realized that I was wrong.

Sandy: About Ridge? He was different?

Brooke: Men were different-- not like I thought. Not all men are monsters, Sandy. Not like the way you're thinking right now.

Sandy: How could you let another man touch you again after something like that?

Brooke: It wasn't easy.

Sandy: I just feel so...

Brooke: Unsure? Afraid?

Sandy: Yes. I have the best memory, Brooke. I remember everything. But that night? Nothing. That scares the hell outta me.

Brooke: What that man did was hateful. It was evil and violent, but not all men are like that, sandy.

Sandy: (Scoffs)

Brooke: They're not.

Sandy: I know. I see couples like--like Bridget and Nick, like you and Mr. Forrester, and I think to myself, why can't I be like that?

Brooke: Well, you can. It just takes a little time.

Sandy: (Laughs) It's been five years, Brooke.

Brooke: Oh, but it's been five years being shut away from the world. You need to open up. You need to let some of that hurt out. Let the light shine on it, and then maybe you're able to heal. You can't let it fester inside. It's only going to eat you up.

Sandy: Yeah, but the thought of, like, letting a man near me again, I just--I can't handle that.

Bridget: What this man did was despicable.

Sandy: (Sighs)

Brooke: You don't know who he is, but you know exactly what happened. And you know what? Every time you dwell on it, it's like you're being violated all over again.

Sandy: I don't want to talk about this. Please stop.

Brooke: Please, just listen to me. This man is trash. You cannot let him control your life like he is right now. You need to just get rid of him. Don't let him damage any more of you. Sandy, look at you. You are pregnant. You're gonna bring this little bundle of joy into the world to two very wonderful people.

Sandy: Yeah.

Brooke: You are a very important person. And you're on the road to recovery. Yes. Yes, you are.

Sandy: (Sighs)

Brooke: We are very, very lucky to have you in our lives.

Sandy: (Sobs) (Sniffles)

(Door opens)

Nick: (Sighs) Hey, guys.

Bridget: Oh, hi.

Sandy: Hi. I was just leaving.

Bridget: Oh, no, please donít. Uh, we were actually looking for you. We wanted to talk to you about something.

Nick: We'd like to offer you a job.

Sandy: A job?

Stephanie: As my assistant. I'm Stephanie. How are you?

Sandy: Oh, Mrs. Forrester, I have seen so many pictures of you in magazines.

Stephanie: Oh, well, thank you. Uh, look, uh, some people here seem to think you need a job.

Sandy: I don't know. I mean, I'm pregnant.

Stephanie: Oh, well, I didn't realize that was a contagious disease, but I'll keep it in mind.

Bridget: (Chuckles)

Sandy: Why me?

Bridget: Well, um, it was actually my husband's idea. He thought you would be perfect for the position, and it would be good for you to get out of the house a little bit, be around other people. You know. Plus it would give you and me a little more time to spend together.

Nick: The truth of the matter is, uh, we're all sort of oddballs and misfits around here, but we do have a lot of laughs.

Bridget: (Laughs)

Nick: And we thought you might want to be part of that.

Sandy: Okay. Okay, I'll do it.

Bridget: Really? Yay!

Sandy: I have a job. (Laughs) I have a job?

Steffy: Dad, this is gonna be a part of the new collection?

Ridge: That's right. This is the last collection I'll ever design for Bill Spencer.

Steffy: Dad, you're designing a collection that's gonna fail.

Ridge: I'm doing what has to be done, sweetheart, for the family and for this company. Steffy, Forrester is doomed if we don't take it back and run it the way it needs to be run. I used to get all charged up comin' in here to work. Now I get depressed. And I'm expected to do my best work under those conditions? Your grandparents built this building. It's been in our family for decades, but it's not anymore.

Steffy: Well, we need to get it back.

Ridge: And we're going to, by putting a dagger through the heart of this collection.

Steffy: Dad, this isn't our collection. This is Bill Spencerís collection.

Ridge: Exactly. So let him answer to his board of directors. When the company starts losing a pile of money, they're not gonna tolerate it, and neither will he. He'll be forced to dump his precious Forrester acquisition after we show the most hideous line this company's ever produced.

Steffy: You know, the more I look at it, the more I'm starting to really like it.

Brooke: What's going on? Good Lord. What is that?

Steffy: Dad, I'll catch you later.

Ridge: Okay.

Brooke: (Chuckles) So you want to tell me what this is all about?

Ridge: It's the first piece in our new product line.

Brooke: (Laughs) You're joking, right?

Ridge: No, Logan, I'm not joking. I'm serious. This is the key to the downfall of Bill and Katie. I told you, we're taking this company back. I told you I had a plan, Logan. Well, the answer's on that sketch pad.

Brooke: And I support you completely, but are you saying you're going to fight my sister for control of this company?

Ridge: I'm fighting Bill. But as C.E.O., yes, your sister's going down with him.

Brooke: And this sketch?

Ridge: It's part of the collection I'm designing.

Brooke: Ridge, if you present this as your new collection, you're gonna be the laughingstock of the industry.

Ridge: Logan, the truth is, Forrester Creations is no longer synonymous with Eric and Ridge Forrester. We're barely a footnote in this company's new image. It's all about Bill Spencer and his new wife. Well, they're the ones who are gonna be the laughingstock. And they will have to deal with all the fallout, the drop in sales, the tarnished image, the loss of prestige.

Brooke: (Sighs) Oh, God, Ridge. How could I support this? You're gonna damage Katieís career.

Ridge: Logan, your sister doesn't have a career. She has a few months playing C.E.O., a position she never earned and was not equipped for. The only careers that were destroyed were my father's and mine. I don't want to see Katie go down any more than you do. But this is not Katieís company. It's Dad's, mine, my brother, my sister's and yours. We put our hearts and souls into Forrester long before Katie was even around.

Brooke: Okay, so what do you want me to do?

Ridge: I need you to convince them that this is the line that we should go with.

Brooke: (Sighs) Ridge, you gotta be kidding me. I can't do that. I mean, Katie knows Forresterís class and Forresterís style. She's gonna see right through this. It's too risky. (Knock on door)

Katie: Hey, I'm really sorry, but I've gotta see that first sketch. Hi.

Brooke: Hi.

Ridge: Well, it's right here. Hope you like it. It's very avant-garde. It's actually some of my best work.

Katie: Great. Thank you. Sorry for the interruption.

Ridge: How many times did you and I talk about running this company, Logan? That's what we're aiming for-- a dynasty for us, for our children, our children's children. It's all within reach, if we get Katie to sign off on this collection.

Brooke: Oh, Ridge. (Sighs) You're asking me to lie to my sister, tell her that sketch is good. I-I just don't think I can.

Ridge: I'm asking you to right a wrong. Look, we had something taken from us. Your sister was given something she didn't deserve. Brooke, I need you. I need my wife. Our futures, our careers, it's all in your hands now.

Brooke: Katie did get everything too quickly. A fast rise to the top, and I guess it'll be equally as fast to the bottom. I really hate to betray my sister's trust. But it has to be done.

Katie: (Exhales) Hmm.

(Intercom buzzes)

Brooke: (Sighs) It's Katie.

Brooke: Hi, Sis.

Katie: Uh, Brooke, I need to see you in my office right away.

Brooke: I'll be right there.

Ridge: You know what you have to do.

Nick: I think it'll be good for you to work with Stephanie, you know? You'll--you'll learn a lot.

Sandy: Nick?

Nick: Yeah?

Sandy: Some of the things that I said earlier about you betraying my confidence, I was wrong. I'm sorry. Brooke's a good woman. She helped me see things differently.

Nick: Did she?

Sandy: Yeah. You're a wonderful man. I never thought that I would say those two things together again. But it's true. You're a man, and you're wonderful. I trust you.

Katie: (Sighs)

Brooke: (Sighs) Shocking, isn't it?

Katie: Uh, yeah. Uh, it's like nothing I've ever seen before.

Brooke: Ridge's genius.

Katie: Hmm.

Brooke: Bold, daring ideas.

Katie: Well, there's daring, and then there's-- (Sighs) Listen, Brooke, you're my sister, and I trust you, and I value your judgment and opinion, and I think Ridge is a wonderful designer, but come on. Do you really think this is good?

Brooke: Yeah. I think it's, uh, it's-- I have to be honest with you. It's on the pulse of what's going to be happening next. There's a lot of whispering going on in Paris and Milan. The next new trend is going to be whimsical and outrageous, over-the-top designs. It's visionary. It's absolutely "it." This is the line that's going to turn Forrester Creations upside down. Trust me, Katie. This is the bomb.
