Katie: I know what happened, Steffy, and now I'd like to know why. Why did you kiss my husband? What do you want from him?
Justin: You cut out of work early.
Bill: Hey. Haven't you heard? I'm a newlywed.
Justin: Only I didn't see, uh, Katie’s car when I pulled up. Look, Bill, I just wanted to make sure you're all right, man. Are you?
Bridget: Hey. How'd it go?
Nick: Hi. What are you doing here?
Bridget: Well, I'm-- I'm waiting for you. I knew you would stop by here on your way home. Did you talk to Sandy?
Bridget: Yes? So...
Bridget: Did you clear the air?
Nick: She is very committed to having this baby with us.
Stephanie: Well, you look great, but I mean, aren't we kind of walking a fine line here?
Taylor: Too much?
Stephanie: Well, no. (Stammers) No, that's not what I mean. I mean, it's, uh, it's your first date, and it's first impressions, and isn't it a little risky?
Taylor: Well, it can't turn out any worse than my first date. At least this time if it bombs, I can say that I have to run to a cocktail party I was on the way to or something.
Stephanie: Well, what do you--
Taylor: Uh, don't ask. Okay, thank you for the dress. I didn't have time to run home and change. That last appointment at the office went so long.
Stephanie: You're more than welcome. Believe me. I probably shouldn't say this, but isn't, you know-- I'm--I'm always a little concerned somebody actually meets somebody that they've contacted over the internet. Uh, look, never mind. Anyway, um... (Chuckles) if anybody in this world is entitled to indulge themselves, it's you. Of course, in my heart of hearts, you know, I always hope that it's you and--
Taylor: Don't even say it. Been there, done that, and I'm not ever doing that again. Ridge made his choice, and I'm not waiting in the wings for him ever again.
Whip: Taylor, hi.
Taylor: Whip. Hi.
Whip: Wow, that looks great on you. But, you--you know that we have a new line in the works? If-If you could wait for our showing, it's just gonna be coming up--
Stephanie: Honey, she's got a date tonight.
Taylor: Yeah, I don't want to have that buttoned-down look that I usually have. It's kind of stuffy. I thought I'd show my date another side of myself.
Whip: Oh. Is it a blind date?
Taylor: Well, it's one of those internet dating things. You know.
Whip: Is it a-a service or a chat room? What?
Taylor: Why? You looking to sign up?
Whip: Me? (Chuckles) No. No, you think I need a computer to--to--to get a date? No way. No, not--not-- not "The Whipster."
Bridget: My goodness, I hope she's committed. She's already carrying our child.
Nick: Well, what I meant was that this is very important to her. In fact, this is one of the main things in her life right now.
Bridget: Yeah? She told you that?
Nick: Yes, she did.
Bridget: Well, what else did she tell you?
Nick: I think she's had a hard life.
Bridget: Yeah. What about her attitude toward you?
Nick: She doesn't necessarily trust me. She doesn't trust men in general, and she admits that.
Bridget: Well, do you think that your--your conversation with her helped?
Nick: I don't think it's gonna be easy for her to trust me, if that's what you're asking, but she loves you. She has a lot of faith in you. In fact, I think that you might be her only friend right now.
Bridget: She's lonely?
Nick: Yeah, she's real lonely.
Bridget: Well, you know, I think we just-- we'll spend a lot of time with her, and we'll try to fill that void.
Justin: What's going on? You had that meeting with Katie. You've been uptight ever since.
Bill: I told her something. I didn't want there to be any secrets between us. It kind of threw her.
Bill: It's not a big deal.
Justin: Yeah. Not another woman, I hope.
Bill: Well, not in the way that you think.
Justin: Oh, Bill.
Bill: A young woman wanting to thank me for a promotion got a little carried away.
Bill: She kissed me...
Bill: A couple of times.
Justin: Wait a minute. Wait a minute. So we're--we're talking about Steffy?
Justin: She kissed you? More than once? Come on.
Bill: Don't give me that look. It was innocent.
Bill: It was innocent.
Justin: Your wife see it that way?
Bill: Well, as I said, she was a little thrown by it. But she's okay. We're okay.
Justin: You sure?
Bill: Yeah, I'm sure. Although it wouldn't surprise me if she was chewing a piece out of Steffy’s rear end right about now.
Steffy: Katie, I am so sorry.
Katie: Are you?
Steffy: I just-- I don't know what got into me.
Katie: You're embarrassed. You seem surprised that Bill told me. Did you think that he wouldn't? I mean, he made it sound like it was a just a simple lapse in judgment, but maybe it was something more. Maybe it wasn't so simple. Tell me, Steffy, woman to woman. What's really going on here?
Justin: So Katie’s talking to Steffy, huh?
Bill: I got the impression that's where she was headed.
Justin: I would not want to be in that little girl's shoes right now.
Justin: Yeah, it's too bad. Just when things were starting to run smoothly, now this. Look, Bill, I know Steffy is very tempting.
Bill: Hey, will you give it a rest? I'm committed to my wife.
Justin: Okay then, boss. Tell me about this girl. Okay, one spontaneous kiss is one thing. But, look, I know she is talented as all get out, but she is Ridge's daughter.
Bill: Justin, I know who she is.
Bill: Katie was a little hurt, but she knows that she can trust me and that nothing happened. Man, I'm gonna pop you one. I said nothing happened.
Katie: Is there something more to what happened?
Steffy: I shouldn't have asked Bill to meet me at the cabin.
Katie: No, you shouldn't have. And he certainly shouldn't have gone, no matter how much you pressured him.
Steffy: Look, I just felt I needed to explain about kissing him in the office.
Katie: That's all?
Steffy: Yeah. But then I did it again.
Katie: Kind of strange behavior, don't you think? Seems like someone who's out of control.
Steffy: Katie, you know me. That's not the way I act, the kind of thing I do. Look, I-I just-- I don't know. I can't explain it.
Katie: Well, why don't you let me give it a shot? Because I think I know exactly what's going on here.
Taylor: It was my daughter Steffy’s idea.
Stephanie: You don't have to explain yourself to Whip.
Whip: Yeah, you don't have to explain yourself at all. I mean, I get it. You want to meet guys.
Taylor: Nice guys.
Whip: Sure. Sure. I-I applaud you for that. So, uh, so where you meeting this guy?
Taylor: I'm not telling you that.
Whip: Why not?
Stephanie: Why do you want to know?
Taylor: Because he wants to make a joke, that's why.
Taylor: Look at him. See? See? This is why I don't want to tell anybody about this. I just want to go and have a nice time. That's all. I don't like being judged.
Whip: Wow. (Scoffs) Jump on a guy just for being curious.
Stephanie: Pay him no heed. You have fun.
Taylor: I'll try.
Nick: Hey. Hi.
Nick: How are you, Taylor?
Stephanie: Oh, good, you're back.
Bridget: You look gorgeous.
Taylor: Well, thank you. And I do mean thank you. This is pretty awesome.
Bridget: I love it.
Taylor: I have to go. I-I'm running late.
Nick: Oh, yeah.
Bridget: We're actually on our way out, too.
Nick: We just wanted to make sure everybody heard the news.
Stephanie: I did. Congratulations.
Nick: Your mother must be in seventh heaven.
Nick: Over the moon.
Taylor: Okay, so this isn't a secret? You're letting everybody know that your surrogate is pregnant?
Bridget: Yeah, well--
Nick: Almost everybody.
Bridget: We haven't told Jack yet.
Justin: So Katie is protecting her turf. Or should I say her man?
Bill: You've known me a long time. And you know that no woman has ever come close to affecting me the way that Katie has. I love her. And I'm not going to do anything to jeopardize what we have.
Steffy: Katie, I am not after your husband, if that's what you're thinking.
Katie: But you do find him romantic, sexy, powerful.
Steffy: Yes, he's sexy and powerful. But that's not what was on my mind.
Katie: You sure about that?
Steffy: I'm not a bad person.
Katie: No, of course not.
Steffy: You must be so disappointed in me. After everything you did to build me up, support me, encourage my career.
Katie: I don't think you're a bad person. I just think that sometimes good people do bad things. I have some experience with that. So, you see, I know exactly where you're coming from, what you're thinking, what you're feeling. In fact, I think I understand you pretty well, actually.
Bridget: We just wanted to wait a few weeks before we told Jack, just to make sure everything was okay with the pregnancy.
Taylor: Well, you could try getting him excited about having a little brother or sister.
Bridget: I know. I know. I hope so.
Taylor: No, there really is a special bond between siblings. You'll have that to look forward to. Okay, I've really gotta go. I don't like being late.
Nick: Oh, all right.
Bridget: Wait, are you, uh-- where are you going? Are you seeing someone?
Taylor: It's a first date.
Bridget: Well, good luck.
Taylor: Thank you. You, too.
Bridget: Bye. She looked gorgeous.
Nick: Hey, hon, you want to grab that blue envelope on the desk when you turn out the light? Thanks.
Bridget: Sure. Taylor seemed really happy for us.
Nick: Why wouldn't she be?
Bridget: Oh, I don't know. It could just be awkward, us using a surrogate with, you know, the whole I.V.F. thing with her and Jack.
Nick: (Sighs) That was a mistake. This is different.
Bridget: I know. I know.
Nick: But you worry, don't you? You worry about everybody and everything.
Bridget: Oh, stop it. I just-- you know, Taylor and I aren't as close as we used to be. I don't want to dredge up bad memories.
Nick: All right. She has been through a lot, hasn't she? When I think about it. But she looked great tonight. She's going out on a date. She seemed happy.
Bridget: Mm-hmm. If he's not "Mr. Right," I hope he's at least nice.
Nick: Mm-hmm. Tell me something. Is that what women want? Do they want "Mr. Nice"?
Bridget: Well, yeah. Of course we want "Mr. Nice," as long as there's a little hint of, uh, "Mr. Dangerous." (Chuckles) Yes, darling. Exactly like you.
Nick: Thank you.
Taylor: Okay, I'm not late. That's good. (Sighs) Just, uh, um, I'll just sit here, order, like, a tea, try not to look stupid. Uh, yes, I would like to get something that--
Taylor: This is not funny. This is not funny. This is why I didn't want to tell anybody where I was.
Whip: You didn't tell me where you were going.
Taylor: You followed me?
Whip: No. I got here first.
Taylor: Okay, so... (Sighs) it's really rude for me to be sitting here talking to you when my date could show up any minute, okay?
Whip: (Clears throat) Oh. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Well, let me guess. Um, he's gonna be drinking, um, an Americano, reading the...
Taylor: You are my date.
Whip: You're the winner. (Chuckles)
Whip: Look, why do you think I wanted to know where you were meeting your mystery man?
Taylor: (Sighs) This is just very weird, okay? I'm out there trying to meet new people, and I keep meeting people I already know.
Whip: Well--well-- we had a very nice conversation about where I went to college, right?
Taylor: Yeah. But that was, you know, that was, like, "cyber chat," the "I.M. thing." (Chuckles) It's just too weird. I... (Sighs) dating should be really personal.
Whip: Yeah, I know.
Taylor: It should be about two people connecting. I mean, you really can't expect to find your life mate being matched up like a pair of socks.
Whip: Well, uh, wait a minute. Wait, you're not leaving.
Taylor: No, it was just something I tried. Steffy asked me to do it, and I tried it, and it's just not a happening thing.
Whip: Oh, com--come on. Come on. Look, you can have a cup of coffee, right? Why not? I'm here. You're here.
Whip: I mean...
Whip: You gotta admit, it is a little bit funny, isn't it?
Taylor: Well, I'm sure everyone at Jackie M. will think so.
Whip: Don't you dare. Seriously. Don't--don't--don't--don't-- don't--don't--don't you dare.
Taylor: Only if you promise to never call yourself "The Whipster" ever again.
Steffy: You don't have to worry about me, Katie. I give you my word.
Katie: I'm not worried. But you did cross a line, Steffy.
Steffy: Believe me, I'm as shocked by that as you are.
Katie: Something's going on with you.
Steffy: Nothing is going--
Katie: You can deny it all you want.
Steffy: I'm not.
Katie: Whatever drove you to behave the way you did, it's not just going to go away. It's gonna keep coming up.
Steffy: No, it won’t. It's completely over. I don't even want to think about it anymore.
Katie: I'm sure you don't, but we have to think about it.
Steffy: Why? Wouldn't you rather just forget it?
Katie: Sure. Unfortunately, I can't do that, and if you're honest with yourself, neither can you.
Steffy: Yes, I can, Katie. I am not into your husband.
Katie: Oh, I know. That's not what this is about. Bill was just a means to an end.
Steffy: What are you talking about?
Katie: You persuaded my husband to meet you at a remote cabin the night before we were married. You say you wanted to clear the air. But before he could leave, you kissed him... again, for the second time.
Steffy: But we were just--
Katie: I've heard the story. I don't need to hear it anymore.
Steffy: Katie, it was just a kiss. I mean--
Katie: See, that's where we disagree.
Steffy: Nothing else happened.
Katie: I know. Bill would never have let anything else happen.
Steffy: Okay, then if you get that, then what--
Katie: This isn't about Bill, is it? You think I've taken something from your family-- this company, this job, this chair behind this desk. So maybe you thought you'd try to take something from me. That's what this is about, isn't it? A little revenge. A little payback.
Steffy: No, that's not it.
Katie: Maybe you don't even realize it yourself. Think about it. Makes sense, doesn't it? You say you have no idea what came over you that night. Well, I think I know. You tried to use my husband to hurt me. And that's really too bad, because I thought that we worked really well together. I thought we made a good team. And now I'm in this very difficult position, because I have to know that I can trust my employees implicitly. I have to know that we're all working toward the same goal. And I just don't think that's true with you. So I'm sorry, but you've given me no choice. You're fired.
