Steffy: I don't know what you're talking about.
Brooke: Don't pretend you don't know, Steffy.
Steffy: I need to go.
Brooke: Where? To see Bill Spencer, my sister's husband, the man you came onto? Oh, yes. I know all about it.
Katie: You better have a very good excuse, Mr. Spencer.
Bill: For what?
Katie: Running out on me over at Forrester Creations.
Bill: I had to get back here.
Katie: Mm. Something more pressing than the needs of your wife?
Katie: Mm. Oh, my gosh. Your necklace! Where did you find it?
Bill: I didn't find it. Um, someone else did.
Katie: We'll have to get the clasp fixed. I know a good place.
Bill: Yeah, you know, um, I don't know that I'm gonna be wearing this anymore.
Katie: Why not?
Bill: There's something I need to talk to you about.
Katie: And it has to do with your necklace?
Bill: Where it was found and why.
Nick: That's it, isn't it? It's not just me. It's men in general.
Sandy: (Sighs) Pretty strange, huh? (Scoffs)
Nick: Depends on what happened.
Sandy: Why do you think something happened? I just don't like men. (Sighs)
Nick: That I don't believe.
Taylor: You know Nick. I mean, I-- maybe he's just overreacting about your surrogate.
Bridget: Yeah. I hope so.
Taylor: What about you? Do you like her?
Bridget: Sandy? Yeah. I think she's great.
(Knock on door)
Whip: Oops. (Laughs)
Taylor: Ooh. Hi, Whip. (Laughs)
Whip: Hi, Taylor.
Bridget: Whip, come on in. We're--Taylor and I were just talking about Sandy.
Nick: You've really been through something, haven't you?
Sandy: I told you I can't talk about it.
Nick: Okay. I'm sorry.
Sandy: It's not your fault. (Sniffles)
Nick: Well, it may not be my fault, but it's my responsibility now. Youíre pregnant with my child, which makes you and everything that happens to you my responsibility.
Katie: So this is a story about where your necklace was found?
Katie: Okay. Well, I like a good story.
Bill: It has to do with Steffy.
Katie: What about Steffy?
Bill: Well, it, uh, seems that she has a crush on me.
Katie: A crush on you.
Katie: Of course she does. Everybody has a crush on Dollar Bill.
Bill: Well, it's a little more serious than that.
Brooke: You want to tell me your side of the story? Steffy, I know everything.
Steffy: Then you don't need me to tell you.
Brooke: I'd like to hear your point of view.
Steffy: Okay. Um, I kissed Bill after he promoted me.
Brooke: Well, that doesn't sound too bad, does it?
Steffy: Because it wasnít.
Brooke: But it was. It went further than that. It ended up in Big Bear at the cabin...
Brooke: The night before Bill married my sister.
Taylor: Uh, so you know Sandy, too? You've met her?
Whip: Yeah. Yeah, I-I met her.
Taylor: Okay. So--so what do you think of her?
Bridget: Yeah, Whip. You were talking to her yesterday, weren't you? Wh-What's your impression of her?
Sandy: I don't want you to feel like you have to be responsible for me.
Nick: Because I'm a man? Huh?
Nick: So you'd rather not have anything to do with any man on any level, would you?
Nick: Well, whatever happened must have been pretty traumatic.
Nick: Would that have anything to do with why you changed your name? I know this might be uncomfortable for you, but I'm gonna remind you... you're carrying my child. And, Sandy, you can trust me, at least a little.
Sandy: That profile that I wrote, the one that you guys read about the yoga and the fitness, working out, spirituality, Bridget reminds me of her...
Sandy: Who I used to be... who I want to be.
Katie: This crush that Steffy has on you, did something happen?
Bill: Shortly after I promoted her, Steffy came to the office. She was enthusiastic and grateful. She wanted me to know that I had made the right decision. Anyway, before she left, uh, she quite unexpectedly kissed me. She was mortified. She was humiliated. I told her not to beat herself up over it. I knew that it was a completely innocent, spontaneous gesture. She couldn't let it go. It kept nagging at her. So the night before the wedding, she called me. She was quite distraught. I was concerned about her. She implored me to meet her up at the Big Bear cabin.
Katie: So then what happened?
Bill: She was embarrassed that she had pressured me to come up there. She acknowledged that she was kind of, uh, messed up. I was, uh, pretty aggravated at the entire situation, but I let it go. So I was about to leave when she asked me to look at the latest photos from the new Hollywood Glamour shoot that she had on her cell phone.
Bill: These are really, really beautiful, Steffy.
Steffy: You really think so?
Bill: Yeah, I do. You must be very proud. You've outdone yourself. Steffy. Steffy.
Steffy: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Bill, wait. I'm sorry.
Steffy: And that's what happened. That's all that happened.
Brooke: So did you intend to seduce him, because that's how it seems.
Steffy: No. No. I didn't know what I was thinking. Something just came over me.
Steffy: I know I was wrong. Trust me. I know that. I wish I never made that phone call. So now what? You gonna tell my dad? Are you gonna tell Katie? Brooke, what are you going to do?
Katie: Well, you--you hid it well. I mean, this happened the night before our wedding, and yet you didn't seem at all distracted at the ceremony.
Bill: I wasn't the least bit distracted. Look, Katie, this obviously wasn't something I could lay on you the day of our wedding.
Katie: Or on our honeymoon, obviously. So why now, Bill?
Bill: Because I don't want a marriage filled with secrets. To be completely honest, I did think about not telling you. But why should I hide something when there's nothing to hide?
Brooke: You're such a bright girl. I just can't imagine how you could let yourself get drawn in to something like this.
Steffy: I've been asking myself the same question.
Brooke: Do you understand the impact of all of this? I mean, everybody is finally starting to get back up on their feet, and they're finally getting used to this new situation, and what you did was so foolish. I'm sure I don't need to paint a picture of how your father would react if he were to find out.
Steffy: N-no, he canít.
Brooke: Oh, yes. Yes, he most certainly can.
Steffy: So you're gonna tell him?
Brooke: I don't know. I'm not going to make any promises.
Brooke: Unless, of course, you would be able to give me some kind of guarantee.
Whip: Look, I think she seemed a-a little uncomfortable. You know, there was a photo shoot going on. There was noise, a lot of cameras flashing.
Bridget: Mm-hmm. Right.
Taylor: (Laughs) And she is pregnant, so maybe she wasn't feeling that well.
Bridget: Well, I got the distinct impression that she was on edge about something. She bolted and seemed very upset.
Whip: I wouldn't read too much into it, Bridget. I mean, she's your new surrogate. She's not your B.F.F.
Taylor: Yeah, I think Whip absolutely has a point. She's doing something very generous for you, despite the fact that she's being paid, but, you know, maybe she just needs a little bit of space.
Bridget: I-I-I-I really don't think that that's what she needs. My husband doesn't think that, either.
Nick: Whatever happened to you, you've got to try to get beyond it.
Sandy: I am by becoming a surrogate mother.
Nick: No, not just that. There's got to be some form of recovery here somehow.
Sandy: You know, I'm giving you and Bridget a baby. Isn't that enough? What do you want from me?
Nick: I want the truth.
Sandy: I'm having a baby for you and Bridget, and I want that more than anything in the world, and that is the truth.
Nick: No, I'm--I'm sorry. There's something else going on here. I can see it in your eyes. You're hiding something. I'd like you to tell me what it is... please.
Katie: (Sighs) I really wish you hadn't gone to Big Bear.
Bill: Me, too.
Katie: I mean, the night before our wedding, Bill.
Bill: Yeah, not my best judgment call.
Katie: Okay. I believe you when you say that nothing else happened. And I believe you when you tell me that you didn't intentionally encourage Steffyís behavior. You've never lied to me before. I have no reason to believe you'd start now. But, Bill, don't you see that just by going to Big Bear, just by doing what she wanted you to do, you encouraged her? That may not have been your intention, but that was the result. And all I can ask is that you don't put yourself in that position again. Please. The next time a damsel in distress gives you a call, tell her to call her shrink or her priest or, better yet, just hang up.
Bill: Fair enough.
Katie: Thank you for telling me the truth. I want you to always trust me with the truth. I won't make you regret it. Okay?
Steffy: Brooke, I am so sorry.
Brooke: I'm sure you are. But how do I know you won't do that again?
Steffy: I am not gonna make the same mistake.
Brooke: Can you promise me that?
Steffy: Yes. I-I promise you. I learned my lesson. Please believe that.
Brooke: I do.
Steffy: You do?
Brooke: I've made a few mistakes of my own when I was looking for love, and I learned from those mistakes... painfully. I won't talk about this with anyone.
Steffy: Thank you.
Brooke: I am going to trust you. You just got caught up in something. And luckily nobody was hurt, especially you. You just have to be on guard and committed to never let this happen again.
Steffy: I will. I will. Thank you, Brooke. Thank you so, so much.
Sandy: Why are you doing this to me?
Nick: You really don't think I have a right to question? Bridget and I thought that you were someone you're not. Sandy Sommers, Agnes Jones-- which one is it? Did you see what you just did?
Nick: It's instinctive. I took a step towards you, and you took a step backwards. Are you afraid of me?
Nick: I don't mean to pressure you, but I really do need some answers here. (Sighs) Do you live alone? What do you do in your spare time? Do you like to go out? Do you have a job?
Sandy: I had a job. I lost it.
Nick: You lost it why?
Sandy: Because I was a mess.
Nick: Well, you were a mess why?
Sandy: Please don't do this.
Nick: I want to help you.
Sandy: You can't help me. You canít. I'm about to embark on the most beautiful thing that I've ever done in my entire life. I'm having a baby for a great couple. And that's pretty much all I'm living for right now. So you don't have to wonder whether or not I'm committed. You picked the right person, Nick. I am gonna give you and Bridget the most beautiful, healthy baby. I promise you that. So I'm gonna make you very happy. So could you just let it go, leave it be for now?
Nick: I'm not all men, okay? I'm me.
Sandy: Please don't tell Bridget.
Nick: You don't think that she has a right to know that you're not the person she thinks you are?
Sandy: It's sad, but true. Your wife is pretty much the only friend I have right now, and I'm pregnant with her child, so I don't want her to feel insecure about me. I want to forget that I ever had a past and focus on the future. (Sniffles) And my future is giving you and Bridget your baby. (Sniffles) Please let me have that. Please let Bridget believe in me. Nick, please don't tell her.
Steffy: Hey. I was just about to leave. I wanted you to see the new sales figures. I just showed them to Brooke. Our campaign is really stepping up, huh?
Katie: I know what happened.
Katie: I know what happened with you and Bill.
