Katie: You know, the beach is a lot different from the hotel suite.
Bill: I've noticed. It's outdoors.
Katie: Mm-hmm. And it doesn't have maid service or room service.
Bill: Even in California?
Katie: Is that why you invited me to move in with you?
Bill: Well, you would be the hottest maid I ever had.
Katie: (Chuckles) Mm. (Giggles) I'm not gonna wear one of those little outfits.
Bill: Yes, you will.
Brooke: (Gasps) Oh, my God. What on earth are you two doing here?
Bill: Eric should be out by now.
Katie: Brooke, um--
Brooke: (Sighs) Look, Rick forgot to leave his garage door openers.
Bill: I gotta get a locksmith out here right away.
Brooke: Not that it's any of your-- it was you? You're the dummy corporation who bought this house? It was you? (Engine stops)
Steffy: Owen, I'm not a home wrecker. And I'm not coming on to a married man. I'm just expressing my concerns to you as your friend. Jackie's lovely. There's no question about that. But is she right for you?
Owen: Listen, Steffy, thank you for caring. I really appreciate that. But come on. We're out in the middle of nowhere right now. Do you know what I think we should do?
Owen: I say we go swimmin'. Come on. There's gotta be some swimsuits on this boat. I'm gonna go check.
Steffy: Okay. (Laughs)
Bill: I understood Eric needed the money.
Brooke: I can't believe even you would stoop to this.
Bill: How is this stooping?
Katie: Brooke, he is actually going to live here.
Brooke: First you target the business, and then you take over the family house that they've had for so many years?
Bill: I'm helping Eric pay off the bank.
Bill: I can't win with you people.
Katie: He's got a point.
Brooke: Oh, God, Katie, stop being so naive!
Bill: All right, clearly you two have quite a bit to talk about, and I have a lot of work to do.
Katie: I'll be here.
Bill: My keys.
Bill: I'll take Brookeís.
Bill: Thank you.
Katie: (Sighs) You--you know, Brooke, you're really the one who's out of line here. The rushed closing has already happened. Eric requested it, and you come waltzing in here with your own set of keys.
Brooke: I was right about Bill. I wish I weren't for your sake.
Katie: And you've come to this conclusion how?
Brooke: Come on, Katie. I love you. I care about you. I'm concerned. I don't want you to get hurt. And I just-- I wish you could open your eyes to what's really going on here. (Sighs) Let's just--let's go home and talk about it, okay? Come on.
Katie: I am home. Bill asked me to move in with him, and I said yes.
Brooke: Katie, you're not really moving in here.
Katie: (Chuckles) Well, I guess I can forget about anyone being happy for me.
Brooke: You know I wish I could be.
Katie: How would I know that?
Brooke: Think about your relationship with Nick. It looked like a great thing in the beginning, and then it turned out to be a mistake.
Katie: Well, so what if it was? You've made dozens of mistakes just like it. I mean, where is my freedom to fail, if that's what you insist on believing I'm doing?
Brooke: Look, I would feel this way if it were anybody, not just Bill Spencer. But really, what do you know about him? What do you know about his past relationships?
Katie: I'm not walking down the aisle with him, Brooke.
Brooke: Katie, you've barely known him for two months.
Katie: Well, what better way to get to know him than to spend time with him? And please, please don't insult my intelligence by pretending that this is about anything other than Bill. What you're really trying to say is that you don't think it's credible that someone like him could be interested in someone like me.
Brooke: You are so wrong. I don't think somebody like him deserves somebody like you.
Jarrett: (Clears throat) Sorry I'm late.
Bill: What took you so long?
Jarrett: (Sighs) I was clear across town. Uh, may I ask why we're meeting here?
Bill: Do you have an objection to meeting in the television studio, Jarrett?
Jarrett: Well, no, no. Of course not. I'm just curious. What are you up to?
Steffy: Whoo! (Laughs)
Owen: Oh, my gosh. Wow. Why is the water so much warmer out here?
Steffy: Yeah, the cove is protected. See? It's fairly shallow.
Steffy: Oh, no. No thanks. I like to air-dry.
Steffy: (Sighs) You better enjoy it...
Steffy: Before we go back to our opposing offices, huh?
Owen: Oh, yeah. (Shivers)
Steffy: God, this feels great.
Steffy: You jump in. You cool off. You get out. You warm back up, and you do it right over again. (Laughs)
Owen: Yeah, well, you can keep on doin' it, 'cause I am gonna stand here and watch.
Steffy: Oh, no, no. I'm not going in there alone.
Owen: Come on, Steffy. I'm basking in a nice sense of toasty well-being. So leave me alone.
Steffy: Oh, really. Really, huh? Really?
Owen: Leave me alone.
Steffy: If I went in again, then you're coming with me.
Owen: No, I'm not going in.
Steffy: Yes, you are.
Owen: No, I'm not.
Steffy: Yes, you are.
Owen: I'm not going in. No. No, I'm not.
Katie: I haven't betrayed anyone.
Brooke: I know.
Katie: And you are wrong. You are so wrong to compare this to what happened with Nick. That is so unfair.
Brooke: I'm sorry.
Katie: And do you have any idea how insulting it is to have people tell me over and over again that Bill is using me...
Brooke: (Sighs) All right!
Katie: As if I wouldn't know.
Brooke: All right already.
Katie: I mean, I've asked questions. I'm not an idiot.
Brooke: Okay, are you happy with his answers?
Katie: Yes. Which is why I've been inviting you and Ridge and Donna and Eric to use me. I can be an intermediary. I can--I can run interference. If the company changes hands-- Bill would say when, not if-- but if it does, I can do damage control. I can protect what we all want to protect.
Brooke: Okay. Let's look at this from a different way. I can understand why people would be interested in you, Katie, because you are smart. You're tough. You're brave. You're gorgeous. Everybody thinks so, not just your family. And Bill knows this. That is why he is using you to plead the case.
Katie: Okay, I understand your concern.
Brooke: Thank you.
Katie: But this is not a hypothetical situation. The fact is I know this man better than any of you, and what I really don't get is why you are so convinced that your judgment of him is right and mine is wrong.
Brooke: Well, that's because he announced his intentions the minute he set foot here in L.A. And we believe that Bill is the man that he says he is.
Katie: Well, that only proves that he's been open and honest about his intentions from the beginning. Why is that wrong? Why is that bad?
Brooke: I can see that I'm not gonna get you to change your mind.
Brooke: Then I hope you're gonna be happy, because you deserve it.
Katie: (Sighs) Don't hate me, Brooke.
Bill: I'm having a meeting here with Justin.
Jarrett: Ah, regarding the old Spencer fashion talk show?
Bill: Yeah. There are some aspects of production on "The Catwalk" that I'm not happy with.
Jarrett: Uh, yeah, you know, I have to agree. It has been rather lackluster recently.
Bill: Exactly. We need to spice it up a bit.
Jarrett: And you're going to put Justin in charge?
Bill: I'm considering it. I am also considering having you work with him.
Jarrett: Oh, well, that would be marvelous, I mean, if you think I'm qualified.
Bill: I'm debating that.
Jarrett: Of course. Of course, yes. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
Bill: Let's not. There's something I want you to go pick up for me. I think the timing is right.
Jarrett: Uh, timing?
Bill: Here's where I want you to go.
Jarrett: " Meador's Luxury and Estate Jewelers." Oh, my goodness.
Bill: There is something I purchased in the safe there.
Jarrett: I see.
Bill: Ask for Andy. He's authorized to release it to you.
Jarrett: Very good.
Bill: Bring it directly back here to me.
Jarrett: I understand.
Bill: And, Jarrett? Be very careful with it. It's something very special to me.
Jarrett: Yes, sir.
Owen: Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Steffy, come here. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. Come on. Steffy, it's okay. Come on. Come on.
Owen: Oh, God. No air. Come on, Steffy, breathe! Come on! Come on, Steffy. Come on.
Katie: Did your dad make this?
Katie: I thought you didn't have much of a relationship with him.
Bill: I didnít.
Katie: What's on it?
Bill: Some of his last words before he croaked.
Bill, Sr.: Finally got rid of me. If you're dancing on my grave, I have to say, I don't blame you. I wasn't much of a father. I had no use for you. And when you became old enough to become interesting, you had no use for me. Fair enough. I'm making you and your sister unthinkably rich. They say that money can't buy love. Well, I think the jury is still out on that one. Anyway, I don't need you to love me. Think of this as the last negotiation. You're going to have half of what I own. The empire that I built is yours to keep for exchange of what I'm about to ask. Whether money can buy love or not, it came to me only once, and it was free. It wasn't your mother. That wasn't love, and it certainly wasn't free. No, this is about the woman who got away, the woman who had the power, the grace and the brilliance, the one who wouldn't have me, the one who wouldn't leave Eric Forrester, a completely insignificant man, except for his talent. And what's talent? A street musician has talent. A chimpanzee has talent. He cheated on her openly and often. And throughout all of that, she remained loyal to him. When Dr. Rivette told me how long I had to live, I felt nothing. He could have been telling me the weather conditions. But when I found out what Forrester had done to Stephanie-- humiliated her publicly, ousted her from the company that she and Eric founded together and built together, and when he replaced her in his bed for some corporate chorus girl-- when I heard that, it broke my heart. My son, I'm offering you my name, my wealth, my power. Whatever grievances against me you may have, on one condition. Avenge Stephanie Forrester. She wouldn't let me love her when I was alive. When I'm gone, help her understand what I could have done for her if she'd let me. Grind that fool into the dirt. Take him down, and everyone that has demeaned and disrespected her-- Brooke Logan and her sister. Take Ericís business away from him. Cast him out, and see to it that they lose everything that's dear to them by any means you can. (Sighs) This is the last thing I ask of you.
Bill: You knew that was extremely personal, and yet you took it upon yourself to watch it. You shouldn't have done this, Katie.
Owen: Come on, Steffy. Come on. Don't die. Come on. Don't die.
Owen: Oh, come on. There-- there you go. Spit it up. You got it. Come on. No, it's okay. It's okay. Come on. There you go. Come on.
Owen: There you go. Breathe. Breathe.
Owen: Come on, take a deep breath.
Owen: Breathe. There you go.
Owen: All right, there you go. Come on. You okay?
Owen: It's okay. Come on. You fell in. You hit your head.
Owen: Okay, take a deep breath. God, you scared me. Come on. It's okay. Come on. (Chuckles) I got ya. I got ya.
Owen: You okay?
Steffy: (Whispers) You sav-- (Coughs) you saved me. You saved me.
Brooke: An attorney friend gave me your number. My name's not important right now. But you are a private investigator in Manhattan. Is that correct? I assume you know the name Bill Spencer, Jr. I do believe his principal residence is there in New York. I was just wondering if you might have any information that I would be interested in, like his personal life or friends, family, relationships.
Brooke: You know what? (Sighs) Wait, I'm sorry. I-I can't do this. (Sighs) I think my sister would be very upset with me.
Brooke: (Sighs) Katie... be careful.
Bill: I trusted you.
Katie: (Sighs) I trusted you. And then I-I hear this. Y-your father sent you on some kind of mission from the grave to, uh, settle a score, bring down Eric Forrester.
Bill: Those were my father's wishes to take down Eric. In case you haven't noticed, I'm my own man, Katie.
Katie: Well, you seem to have done a pretty good job of following your father's instructions to the tee. I-is this some kind of vendetta? Avenge Ericís treatment of Stephanie? I mean, do I need to remind you that Eric left Stephanie for my sister? Eric is my sister's husband. Everything you've done since you've come to L.A., the--the way you've targeted Forrester by-- (Sighs) "by any means possible." Those were your father's words. Well, tell me, Bill. Am I "any means possible"?
Bill: Don't be ridiculous.
Katie: This doesn't sound ridiculous to me, "Dollar Bill." A man who doesn't have feelings for any woman, and you suddenly have feelings for me. I mean, do you even know what love is?
Bill: Only when I look at you.
Katie: Wow. I mean, I've been played for a fool before, but-- I need you to tell me the truth. Am I just like everyone else in your world? Am I just a pawn? Just a means to an end and--
Bill: Don't you ever, not for a second, question my intentions with you. We're beyond that. To hell with the DVD, my father, the companies, the money. I don't want it. Not if it means I have to spend one day of my life without you. I would never use you for anything except making my life richer. And that's what you've done. And that's what this is about. Don't ever question me again, Katie. Have I made myself clear? Tell me you believe me. Tell me.
