Brooke: We're not leaving that.

Rick: No, we're not. Whole lot of memories in this jar.

Brooke: We started collecting sea glass whenever we came to the beach when you were a little boy.

Rick: You know that I can chart my entire life from the bottom to the top of this thing? I've taken it everywhere, every place that I've lived.

Eric: All right, a few more boxes, and we'll be done. Not very much more. I'm sorry, son.

Rick: No, Dad, it's all right. I mean, we have to sell the place. I'm cool with it.

Eric: Yeah, well, I'm not, but we had to do it.

Brooke: At least we got our asking price. (Sighs)

Eric: Yes, and within a few hours of listing the place, so...

Rick: Can you see why? This place is a gem-- the sweetest house on the beach. I loved living here.

Eric: You can come stay with Donna and me, you know, until you find your own place.

Rick: No, Dad, thank you, but don't worry about me. I will, however, need a-- a place to store my boards.

Brooke: This is hard. (Sighs)

Rick: It's okay, Mom. We're gonna have another place like this someday, right?

Eric: As soon as we turn this company around.

Brooke: And we will as a family.

Rick: And not as employees of Bill Spencer.

Eric: He's a parasite in our lives.

Brooke: He has his claws into Katie.

Rick: Yeah, I don't understand. Why can't she see that he's using her?

Eric: She thinks she's in love.

Brooke: He's taking full advantage, and we need to rescue Katie from Bill. I am not going to let him destroy my baby sister.

Bill: You messengered all the papers?

Jarrett: Done.

Bill: And loaded the boxes in the S.U.V.?

Jarrett: For the most part, yes.

Bill: All right, well, go finish it and tell me when you do. And, Jarrett? Adjust your attitude. We're in business. This isn't a nonprofit.

Jarrett: Yes, boss.

Katie: Oh, hi, Jarrett.

Jarrett: Hello, Katie.

Katie: What's with him?

Bill: I don't know. He couldn't find a tie to match his pocket scarf.

Katie: He's upset about the takeover.

Bill: Well, whatever.

Katie: He always had a soft spot for the Forresters.

Bill: Well, I have a soft spot for one Logan.

Katie: (Giggles) So you asked me to clear my schedule...

Bill: Mm-hmm.

Katie: And I did. I'm here. What's going on?

Bill: I have a surprise for you.

Katie: Mm, my, my. Aren't we just full of surprises these days?

Bill: Mm. Well, this is the biggest one yet.

Katie: (Chuckles)

Steffy: So what, you headin' off to work?

Owen: Uh, no, I actually-- I got to go to the marina. Bridget left some sketches on Nick's boat. She's swamped, and I told her I'd pick 'em up for her.

Steffy: Ooh, tough life. I heard it's supposed to be beautiful down there.

Owen: Yeah. Well, come on. Tag along with me. You want to go?

Steffy: Oh, no, no.

Owen: Come on. I'm just gonna go there, and I'm gonna come right back here.

Steffy: What, are you afraid you're gonna get lost or something?

Owen: Well, you know, I-I do have a pretty bad sense of direction.

Steffy: Mm.

Owen: And I might just end up lost in Mexico.

Steffy: Oh, well, we can't have that. All right, let's go.

Owen: Sweet.

Steffy: Okay.

Eric: Well, I don't see any more boxes, so I guess we're done.

Brooke: (Sighs) I feel badly about what's happening, a little responsible.

Rick: What? Why?

Brooke: Because of Katieís involvement.

Eric: Well, she did give Bill the inside track with the company, and, uh, she's allowed him to fill her head with ideas of becoming C.E.O.

Brooke: I know. She's a little confused right now.

Eric: Yeah.

Rick: Look, we all know Katieís intelligent, but she's not ready to be the C.E.O. of a company.

Eric: No. But at least we-- we've got enough money to at least start paying on this loan.

Rick: Well, maybe Bill Spencer will back down once he sees we're not going down without a fight.

Eric: From your mouth to God's ears. Now come on. Let's get out of here.

Rick: (Chuckles)

Eric: Come on.

Rick: (Sighs) It's the end of an era.

Brooke: We'll have to look at it like... (sighs) it's the next chapter of our lives.

Rick: Well, maybe the people who--that buy it will sell it back to us someday, right?

Brooke: Yes. (Sighs) Anything's possible. Well... (sighs) onward and upward. We have a big job ahead of us. (Chuckles)

Eric: (Chuckles) Come on.

Katie: I love surprises. I can't even guess what it could be.

Bill: Don't even try.

Katie: And it's for me?

Bill: Very much so.

Katie: Hmm. You bought another company.

Bill: (Laughs) I just made you C.E.O. of Forrester Creations. What, do you want a whole conglomerate now?

Katie: Well, maybe I've been hangin' around you too much.

Bill: Maybe you haven't been hanging around me enough.

Katie: Oh, is that hint? Did you get me a leash? I hope it's a long one.

Bill: I wouldn't tie you down if I could.

Katie: If you could tie me down, you wouldn't want me.

Bill: I couldn't imagine not wanting you.

Katie: That's a good thing. I feel the same way. (Laughs) I-I feel like a whole new person. I'm confident, more sure of myself.

Bill: Well, that's more the way you were meant to be.

Katie: I wonder if I would have discovered this if it hadn't been for you.

Bill: Well, I know there are some things about myself I wouldn't have discovered if it weren't for you.

Katie: Maybe we're just a match made in heaven.

Bill: Or some place.

Owen: Oh, wow. Oh, ho. This is cool.

Steffy: Yep. Nick treats it like his baby.

Owen: Wait a minute. Wait, have you been here before?

Steffy: Yeah. Bridget says I can use it whenever I want.

Owen: Oh, well, did Nick hear her say that?

Steffy: Bridget's his wife. Don't husbands do whatever they want for their wives?

Owen: Absolutely. Always. Let me find these sketches real quick, and, uh, then we'll take off. I don't know where to look, though. Um, oh, my God, that's easy. That was easy. All right, I, uh, I got 'em. Steffy, let's roll. Let's g-- Steffy? Wait, where were you?

Steffy: Nowhere.

Owen: Okay, what's with that look?

Steffy: What look? I am taking you for a ride.

Owen: Oh, wait a minute what are you doing?

(Engine turns over)

Steffy: Taking you for a ride.

Owen: Oh, no, no, no. T-tell me you're kidding me right now.

Steffy: Oh, I don't think so. I'm kidnapping you.

(Cough, cough, cough)

Owen: Are you sure you know what you're doing here?

Steffy: It's like skateboarding-- try to steer and not hit anything.

Owen: Well, I guess that's a good start, right?

Steffy: Relax. I've been around boats since I was a kid.

Owen: So where are we headed?

Steffy: I don't know. Hawaii, Japan-- you tell me.

Owen: Um, you're the one doing the kidnapping.

Steffy: Oh.

Owen: So I still don't know why, but--

Steffy: Well, you need a mental health holiday.

Owen: Wait, is that what this is about?

Steffy: You are under a lot of pressure.

Owen: Well, I'm the chief of staff. That's why I get paid the big bucks.

Steffy: Okay, whatever. Here. Take over.

Owen: Huh? No.

Steffy: Take over. Just stay right of that buoy.

Owen: Nick will kill me.

Steffy: Perfect. (Giggles)

(shutter clicks)

Owen: Oh, my God. That buoy.

Woman: And finally, you sign right there.

Eric: Okay.

Woman: Congratulations. You're officially closed on the beach house.

Rick: Who's the buyer?

Rick: "Wilspen, Inc." I was kind of hoping that a family bought the place.

Woman: It could be a family. High-end properties like this are handled discreetly, sometimes through a subchapter s corporation.

Eric: Hmm. Well, I appreciate your good work closing on this so quickly.

Woman: Oh, pocket listings of this caliber are always moving fast. The nice surprise is that the buyer paid your full asking price in cash.

Eric: Yeah. Well, I hope they love it.

Woman: Mm.

Eric: And I hope they love it as much as we did.

Bill: Hold on tight here.

Katie: (Giggles)

Bill: Here we go.

Katie: This blindfold thing is a little kinky.

Bill: Well, wait till I pull out the handcuffs.

Katie: (Laughs) I smell saltwater. Bill, did you buy me an ocean?

Bill: Well, sort of.

Katie: (Giggles)

Bill: Come on in here. All right, stop.

Katie: All right.

Bill: I'm gonna take off the blindfold. There you go.

Katie: (Chuckles)

Bill: What do you think?

Katie: Uh, it's the Forrester beach house.

Bill: Surprise.

Katie: (Sighs) I don't get it.

Bill: I told you you'd never guess.

Katie: Uh, I'm guessing that Ericís gonna be pretty upset if he finds us down here.

Bill: He wonít.

Katie: He might. He comes down here all the time. How did you get the keys anyway?

Bill: Well, that's just the way it works when you make a purchase. They give you the keys.

Katie: When you make a purchase?

Bill: I own the place.

Katie: You-- (chuckles) Eric sold you the place?

Bill: Mm-hmm. Fully furnished.

Katie: Oh! Uh...

Bill: Jarrett, come on in.

Jarrett: (Sighs) Where do you want this stuff?

Bill: Uh, just put it anywhere.

Jarrett: (Groans)

Katie: (Sighs)

Jarrett: Oh! I'm so clumsy. I'm so sorry. Uh... (sighs) there's more stuff in the car.

Bill: Just get the rest of it and put it out there on the deck. I'll sort through it later.

Jarrett: Of course. So, uh, what do you think, Katie?

Katie: Uh, I guess I kind of don't know what to say.

Jarrett: No, neither did I when I heard Bill was buying it.

Bill: Jarrett, I thought I just heard you say there was more stuff in the car, so why don't you get the rest of it, and when you're done with that, make yourself a little sand castle, okay?

Jarrett: Okay.

Bill: Keep yourself occupied.

Katie: (Sighs)

Bill: Well, you know what? It could use a little interior design work. But other than that, uh, it's just perfect. It's great.

Katie: Bill?

Bill: Yeah?

Katie: How did this happen?

Bill: It was a pocket listing, and I picked it up.

Katie: Why?

Bill: Well, why not? I mean, look at this place. Look at the view. It's perfect. And I always wanted to live by the beach. And that hotel suite was in' really old.

Katie: I-I guess: I-I gu

Bill: What's going on with you? This place is ideal.

Katie: Ideal for what? Is this just another chance to stick it to the Forresters?

Bill: (Sighs)

Owen: Uh, Steffy, you do know that the shore is starting to disappear, right?

Steffy: (Valley girl accent) Oh, really? Like, maybe we're, like, in Hawaii. (Laughs)

Owen: Uh, no, maybe we're, like, out in the open ocean. Yeah.

Steffy: (Normal voice) What, are you scared?

Owen: No, I'm not scared, not with you at the helm.

Steffy: Oh, yeah, about that. Um, I was actually joking.

Owen: About what?

Steffy: About driving boats when I was a kid.

Owen: Very funny.

Steffy: (Giggles)

Owen: Very, very funny. Don't even do that. Donít. Seriously, don't do that.

Steffy: (Chuckles)

Owen: All right, so tell me, all right? Where are you taking us?

Steffy: We are going over there.

Owen: Where?

Steffy: To paradise cove.

Owen: Where is it?

Steffy: Right over there. That was my favorite spot. Phoebe and I used to snorkel there as kids.

Owen: Oh, my gosh. Wow. That is beautiful. I would love to get Jackie and take her here sometime. She would love this.

Steffy: But Jackieís not here. Just you and me and the seagulls.

Owen: (Chuckles)

Steffy: (Chuckles) Look, I-I know how committed you are. But maybe if you opened yourself up to someone who's more like you, you'd be better off. 'Cause you and Jackie got married so recently, and you've already been through so much, you know? It's just, you guys come from, like, two different places. I know that's caused a lot of stress. Is that how you want to spend the rest of your life? Look, um, I want to be a good friend to you. I care about you. That's why I brought you out here. I want you to be happy. And if Jackie makes you happy, hey, cool. But if she doesn't, I just want to say I, um, I'm here for you.

Brooke: There's something about the beach-- things that wash ashore. It's a mystery. I wonder what the story is-- you know, where it's been, where it came from before it ended up in our hands.

Eric: I like that.

Brooke: Mm.

Eric: Hang on to this, okay? Protect this. The Forrester story is not over yet, you know. We don't know the end of the story, but I know we're not gonna end up as some piece of glass in a jar belonging to Bill Spencer. It's not gonna come to that.

Brooke: We don't have a beach house anymore, but... (sighs) you know what? There are others. But there's only one Forrester Creations. And we're not going to let that go. We're gonna hold that in our hand. We're not going to let Bill Spencer get one more thing from us.

Eric: You're right.

Bill: I did not buy this place to stick it to the Forresters.

Katie: Are you sure about that? Because this seems a little transparent.

Bill: They had to get rid of it to make a loan payment. They needed a quick sale. Because of me, it was.

Katie: Yes, and because of you, the bank was pressured to call in their loan.

Bill: Katie, they were in default, all right? They are no different than anybody else who has a bank loan. Listen, if I didn't come in and help, they would have gone further and further into debt, and would have eventually filed bankruptcy. But they got a wake-up call, and they have a year to pay off their loan. And because I bought this place at full asking, they are well on their way to making their first payment.

Katie: (Sighs)

Bill: Now listen, I didn't bring you here to talk about business.

Katie: (Sighs) Do you have any idea how much my sisters are gonna hate me when they find out about this, not to mention Ridge and Eric?

Bill: (Sighs) All right, how much more of your life are you going to spend groveling for your sisters' approval? You're not a little girl anymore. Katie Logan has emerged. You are Katie Logan, C.E.O.

Katie: (Sighs)

Bill: And you can stand on your own two feet.

Katie: Yep, all by myself.

Bill: What do you mean, all by yourself? You're not all by yourself. You've got me.

Katie: Do I, Bill? Really?

Bill: No woman has ever gotten under my skin the way you have. And it's, uh, it's a feeling that I'm, uh, not really used to. But I'm getting used to it. In fact, I like it very much.

Katie: (Sighs)

Bill: And that's why I bought this place. So that you and I could sit out on that beach and watch every single sunset, and I could wake up with you by my side every day. I want this place to be our--our refuge and our source of inspiration. That's why I want you to move in with me.

Katie: (Laughs) Move in with you?

Bill: Yeah. Yeah, I-I know it's, uh, it's a big step for both of us.

Katie: Yeah. Um... why?

Bill: Because you have touched me in a way I didn't think was possible. And I don't want to live without you.

Katie: I don't want to live without you. I feel so... disconnected from everyone that I've always felt so close to, and... I just want them to see you the way I see you-- as someone who supports me more than--than anyone else ever has. And I know they will one day. But until then, yes, I would love to move in with you. (Laughs)
