Ridge: I don't want you worrying.

Brooke: (Sighs) I'm not. I know you'll be back.

Ridge: Taylor needs to hear this from me.

Brooke: I'll be waiting.

Owen: I've got good news, and I've got bad news.

Nick: Okay.

Owen: Granted, at the time, we were split up, but you did approve of Jackie and me. You can't take that back.

Nick: I'm a little slow. Ask anybody that knows me.

Owen: So now that weíre together again, what do y-- what do you say now?

Nick: I don't ever want my mother to parasail again.

Owen: (Laughs) No problem. Don't worry. I've given her a job that, uh, ought to be much easier for her.

Whip: Pam said that you wanted to see me.

Jackie: Yes.

Whip: I would have knocked on your door at home, but--

Jackie: Oh, well, I appreciate that you didnít. Owen and I are back together.

Whip: Oh. Well, that's, um, that's great. I'm very happy for you.

Jackie: Well, I don't think you will be when I tell you that you don't work here anymore.

(Knock on door)

Brooke: Oh, I could have sworn you just left, or did you forget something?

Stephanie: When I see you dressed that way, I would pay a lot of money to forget it.

Brooke: You are fast. I'll give you that.

Stephanie: Well, you didn't answer the door downstairs so...

Brooke: Ridge said he had to just go out for a little bit. I'm sure he left it unlocked. He said he'd be back. I told you he would be, Stephanie.

Ridge: I got your message.

Taylor: Well, you said you-- you wanted to meet with me.

Ridge: I was thinking more at the house.

Taylor: Well, there's nobody here, and the lunch crowd is over and it's about an hour before the dinner crowd comes in, so...

Ridge: All right.

Taylor: You said "house." You usually say "home."

Ridge: Taylor, um...

Taylor: Let me save you-- let me save you the trouble. You're going back to Brooke.

Ridge: (Sighs)

Brooke: You don't seem very surprised.

Stephanie: I ran into Katie.

Brooke: I see.

Stephanie: Why are you doing this? Why are you taking away the only peace and happiness he's ever known in his entire adult life?

Brooke: (Sighs) Maybe your so-called peace and happiness isn't what he wants.

Stephanie: Well, I know when he sees you dressed like that, he forgets what he wants.

Brooke: Oh, my God. We're not gonna have this argument again, are we?

Stephanie: No, we're not going to have this argument again, because I don't have the energy. And besides, you're right. He's a grown man. He's made his choice.

Brooke: It's taken you how many years to figure that out?

Stephanie: (Sighs)

Brooke: You know, I have this very special bottle of tequila that I bought at the duty-free shop when I was at the airport.

Stephanie: Really?

Brooke: Of course, I didn't go on the trip, so... actually, I forgot about it. It's--it's right here.

Stephanie: You're asking me to have a-a drink at this time of the day?

Brooke: Yeah.

Stephanie: All right. (Sighs)

Stephanie: You know, it's not that I-I don't like you.

Brooke: Mm-hmm. It doesn't really bother me that you don't like me.

Stephanie: You didn't let me finish. It's not just that I don't like you. It's that Taylorís more suitable for him.

Brooke: For Ridge?

Stephanie: For--yeah. Well, yes. Well, for any decent man.

Brooke: (Sighs) Cheers.

(Glasses clink)

Stephanie: (Sniffs) Um... mmm, it's good. I just can't figure out why he keeps choosing you over and over again.

Brooke: Well, there's some things that he wants that maybe you don't want, you know? Passion, for example.

Stephanie: Ai-yi-yi-yi. What good does it do him? What does it get him? What does it get you?

Brooke: Look, if you don't know that, Stephanie, I can't explain it to you.

Stephanie: Well, it's like you have amnesia, the two of you. Over and over and over again, you always forget that it ends up badly for the two of you. And now on top of all of it, we've got Taylor with a broken heart as well.

Ridge: I didn't realize until it was a question of Brooke leaving, actually living overseas with Beth and Stephen.

Taylor: And you realized you needed her.

Ridge: Yeah.

Taylor: And not just because she's R.J.'s mother.

Ridge: Yeah.

Taylor: I understand. Well, maybe I really donít. I just know I need to.

Ridge: Look, I am-- I am sorry.

Taylor: For what? You didn't make me any promises. I knew what I was risking.

Ridge: I hurt you... again. And again, I'm very sorry.

Taylor: Well, I know you didn't do it on purpose.  It's the hardest thing in the world knowing what it is that's really going to make you happy. I know about that. It feels like sometimes life is a big pushy salesclerk grabbing things off the rack and making you go put it on and telling you how perfect it'll look. Look, I'm not sorry about the period of time that we had together thinking everything would be perfect. So there's really no reason for you to be.

Ridge: (Sighs)

Nick: She's firing Whip?

Owen: What, do you expect her to work with him now? And what, for me to be okay with that?

Nick: He fills needs.

Owen: What, the need to humiliate me? Come on, man, you saw how he treated me during the indulge campaign.

Nick: Your wife could have stopped than, he only did what he was allowed to do, and the night he could have taken advantage of her, he didnít.

Owen: So what's that supposed to mean?

Nick: It means he's good at his job. It means we had no cash here until he showed up.

Owen: Nick, my marriage is more important to me than to us selling it a bunch of dresses.

Nick: Is it to Jackie M.? Remember something. You not only married a woman, but you married into a company that keeps that woman living in a style that she's accustomed to.

Owen: And you.

Nick: And you.

Whip: I don't deserve this.

Jackie: (Sighs) You'll get a very generous severance package, of course.

Whip: Don't insult me, Jackie. That's not what I'm talking about.

Jackie: Look, after everything that you've accomplished here, you're going to be able to work anywhere.

Whip: Can I get a job somewhere else? Sure. But nobody's going to allow me to take the chances like I took here. And nobody is gonna walk through that door, Jackie, who knows you better than I do. Come on. You are a smart business woman. You know that letting me go is not the right decision. So don't do it.

Jackie: I'm sorry.

Whip: (Sighs) You know, I've done a good job for you. I-I've been a friend to you-- tried to be.

Jackie: You could have been a better friend to Owen.

Whip: (Scoffs) Could have been worse. Come on, Jackie, I'm the new guy here. I took my cues from you on how to deal with your husband.

Jackie: You're right. I teased him. I took him for granted. I should be the one to be going, but I'm the one that can't go, and it isn't fair that my lesson learned should have cost you so dearly, but there it is.

Whip: Because Owen says so.

Jackie: He gives me so much, and he asks so little of me.

Whip: You think so?

Jackie: We'll say I begged you to stay. We'll say that you're pursuing other projects, but you are leaving, Whip, today.

Brooke: Look, I know how much you wanted Ridge and Taylor to be together.

Stephanie: He belongs with her.

Brooke: She slept with my son.

Stephanie: Oh. (Laughs) Please. People in glass houses, you know? I wouldn't do any comparison shopping if I were you. I

Brooke: You've had this narrative all these years about Taylor-- like, perfect Taylor, Saint Taylor, beautiful Taylor. But what you really meant to say was she was wound a little too tight. She shouldn't be a psychiatrist. She should be paying one.

Stephanie: Well, you're not working with a full deck in that area either, honey.

Brooke: Don't get me wrong. She's a lovely person. She's just not very stable.

Stephanie: Brooke, you couldn't see her good qualities if you fell over them.

Brooke: Interesting. You don't really offend me anymore, Stephanie.  Annoy me, but that's about it.

Stephanie: Well, I'll have to work harder.

Brooke: (Laughs) Why haven't we ever become friends?

Stephanie: You want me to list the reasons? I'll be here all day.

Brooke: No, I'm serious. You're the only other person that loves Ridge as much as I do. Yet we've been fighting over him all these years. Why? He's never going to leave either one of us. Aren't you tired of it? Isn't this better?

Ridge: Can I come by the house and talk with Steffy and Thomas with you?

Taylor: No, I-I don't think you need to do that. Let yourself off the hook easy. It's okay.

Ridge: I owe them an explanation.

Taylor: It isn't that complicated, Ridge. I mean, if you want people to beat you up, fine, but it's not going to be us.

Ridge: Taylor, I loved our home. I loved our life. I don't know why it couldn't have been everything we wanted.

Taylor: Well, really the only thing that matters is love anyway-- not whether we're in the same house, not whether we're sleeping in the same bed. None of that matters. We've been through a lot this last year. When we lost our daughter, we had to find a way somehow to get through that, I guess, and we just needed to be there for each other.

Ridge: I kind of feel like I've let Phoebe down.

Taylor: No, she would just want you to be happy. I mean, if you're feeling like you're leaving something good behind, yes, you are. But if you say that's what you need to do, that's--that's what you have to do, and I believe you.

Ridge: (Sighs) Taylor, thank you. Thank you.

Ridge: (Sighs)

Ridge: (Sighs)

Taylor: (Sniffles)

Brooke: All right. I just have to dress, and then I'll be there. Bye.

Stephanie: That must be Ridge.

Brooke: You never answered my question.

Stephanie: Which one would that be? The one-- why we canít be friends one?

Brooke: Aren't you tired of fighting? I know I am. Now if you could just accept my future with Ridge, then you could accept my sister's future with Eric, and then we could have a whole new beginning, you and me.

Stephanie: Hmm. Accept you and Ridge. Accept Donna and Eric. Accept losing the company and a couple of sons along the way. That's a lot of acceptance, don't you think? Now why--why would I want a new beginning with you when I've spent the last 20 years building such a great foundation for a really strong opposition to everything you stand for? (Chuckles) Oh, don't forget to pay the sales tax on that liquor. If I find out you didn't, I'll turn you customs.

Brooke: (Laughs) Yeah.

Whip: Well, at least let me help you hire my replacement.

Jackie: Okay, if you've got hiring recommendations, we want to hear them. E-mail them to Stephanie.

Whip: Oh, please, come on. I-I mean, Stephanieís great and everything, and she knows everybody, but she's still caught in that whole "aren't we elegant?" You know, stuffy Forrester mode. She does not see that taking a chance sometimes is the only way to go. (Sighs) Jackie, look. Did I go too far sometimes? Yes. But wouldn't you rather have somebody who shoots too high than too low? Did I ever not respect your decisions? Did I ever not let you pull me back?

Jackie: You don't work here anymore. The decision has been made.

Owen: You know what? Let's talk about that Jackie, it means a lot to me to know that you'd fire Whip if I asked you to. But I'm not so sure that that's the right decision. I my goal here is not to hurt the company, but it is to protect my marriage.

Whip: Well, I don't think that even if I wanted to, I was ever a threat.

Owen: I just wish that you would show me a little bit of a sign of respect, man.

Whip: You're the boss' husband. I'm not gonna go very far if I donít.

Owen: Look, I'm not worried about you. I love my wife, and I trust her, and I want her to be successful. All right, granted, some of your ideas were not my favorite, but you made us a real contender, and I'm okay with you working here just as long as you understand that Jackie is off-limits.

Whip: I've got eyes in my head.

Owen: It's okay, Whip. I mean, you don't have to like me.

Jackie: Thank you, my husband.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Ridge: Hey, just in time.

Brooke: Does--does this mean what I think it means?

Ridge: Hey, no loopholes this time. No escape hatch. Are you ready?

Brooke: Mm. How about Taylor? How was she? I assume that she already knew.

Ridge: She was amazing.

Brooke: Oh.

Ridge: You been drinking?

Brooke: Oh, a couple sips, just to be sociable when my company came by.

Ridge: Who was that?

Brooke: Your mother.

Ridge: (Groans)

Brooke: I think I'm winning her over.

Ridge: Really?

Brooke: Yeah.

Man: Next. I.D. please.

Brooke: Right. Yes.

Ridge: Here we go.

Brooke: Right here. (Chuckles)

Ridge: Uh, here.

Brooke: Oh. (Chuckles)

Man: It appears a marriage license has already been issued. But, uh--

Ridge: Yeah, but you kicked that back to us, because it wasn't filled out properly.

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Ridge: Show him your social security card there.

Brooke: Oh, right. Here you go. Right here.

Man: Well, now all you have to do is, uh, pay the license fee and-- oh, I see it's already been paid.

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: (Giggles)

Ridge: I brought our birth certificates, too, here.

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Man: Ahh, did someone tell you to bring your high school diploma?

Brooke: Oh, no, that's 'cause we just wanted to make sure everything was right.

Man: (Chuckles) Well, uh, looks like, uh, you're all set, so, uh, congratulations and, uh, good luck.

Ridge: Could you just say, uh, "I now pronounce you man and wife"?

Brooke: Husband and wife. Or wife and husband.

Man: Oh, uh, sir... (Chuckles) uh, I-I don't have the authority to, uh--

Ridge: Oh, come on. Just for the heck of it.

Man: Well, uh, uh, we could get you, uh, an appointment with a marriage commissioner if you need someone to officiate.

Ridge: Oh, we've already-- we've been through that.

Brooke: Oh, God, no. No, no, no. Multiple times.

Ridge: We've--we've been through that. Yeah. Yeah.

Brooke: Multiple times. Oh, I can't tell you.

Ridge: We--once in South America already.

Brooke: Oh, yes. Oh, this was que bonita.

Man: Oh.

Brooke: You know what? Two times also. We got married two times in Pointe Dume. And this--

Ridge: Point Dume.

Brooke: Here's another picture. Oh, this one's-- this is lovely. Lovely.

Man: Oh, that is nice.

Brooke: It's so beautiful.

Ridge: We actually did get married in a church once, too.

Brooke: Oh, you know what? We did. I almost forgot about that.

Ridge: Yeah.

Man: (Sighs)

Ridge: So we don't really need the whole ceremony.

Brooke: Yeah.

Ridge: Just kind of cut to the end part.

Man: Well, um... (clears throat) okay, well, um, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Wife and husband.

Brooke: (Squeals) Okay, but can you just say, uh, "you may now kiss the bride"?

Man: Oh...

Woman: Say it.

Man: Come on.

Brooke: (Chuckles) Come on.

Man: You may now kiss the bride.

Ridge: You're the bride.

Brooke: I love that. That's so great.

Ridge: You're the bride.

Brooke: Thank you.

Ridge: (Laughs)

Brooke: (Laughs)

Ridge: Hi, my bride.

Brooke: Hi.

Ridge: Finally, huh?
