Brooke: Ow! (Scoffs)

James: All right, ladies. First thing's first. I need your cell phones. We want no interference from the outside world.

Brooke: (Scoffs) I can't believe I ever agreed to this.

Taylor: Neither can I.

James: Well, you both told Ridge that you'd do it, for his sake, the sake of the children, for your families. If there is ever gonna be any healing, you two have to get over this anger and find some peace.

Taylor: James, I have the utmost respect for your talent in psychiatry, but I really don't see how you're going to make this kind of miracle happen.

James: I'm gonna use various techniques, most of which have been used very successfully in couples counseling.

Brooke: Couples counseling?

James: Yes. I mean, you two are essentially a couple, brought together by Ridge and the families that you share.

Brooke: (Sighs)

James: Ridge-- the man that you love. That is why we're here-- to get over any hostility. That is our mission, and we are going to succeed.

Owen: Whew.

Jackie: You're leaving me. (Groans)

Owen: Oh, come on. It's just for a few days.

Jackie: Hmm.

Owen: My hometown really wants to do this interview, and Whip has made it very clear that I can't exactly turn them down.

Jackie: Yeah.

Owen: You want me to tell you the truth? I'm really nervous about this whole thing.

Jackie: Why?

Owen: Because it's my first big interview. It's live television, and not to mention, all of California is gonna be watching this. No pressure, right?

Jackie: (Laughs) You'll charm the pants off them.

Owen: Well, I just want to make sure that I say the right things, because I know that they're gonna ask me all about our marriage and the whole age difference, and I don't want to say anything to embarrass you or the company.

Jackie: Darling...

Owen: That's all.

Jackie: I have absolute faith that you will represent us smashingly, and the company, too.

Owen: Well, I'm glad that you have faith in me, because it's a lot more than I can say for Whip. The guy thinks that I'm this surf bum, and this is my chance-- this is my chance to improve myself and show my influence in the fashion industry and be the man that you deserve to be married to. But you know what?

Jackie: What?

Owen: There is a little something that I would like to get better at before I leave.

Jackie: (Laughs) There's no room for improvement there.

Owen: Oh, yeah? We'll see about that.

James: And breathe deeply in...

Brooke: (Coughs)

James: And out.

Brooke: (Coughs)

Taylor: What--what is that?

James: And in. This is sage. Clears away the negative energy.

Taylor: Well, I hope you brought a truckload of that.

Brooke: (Coughing)

James: So... how do you feel?

Brooke: (Sighs) I'm sorry, James, but I-I-I really think that you're wasting your time.

James: We're just getting started. I guarantee, when we finish, you two will be the best of friends. Given time, I have turned hardened criminals into crossing guards.

Taylor: Well, you've never had a patient like Brooke before.

Brooke: What is that supposed to mean?

James: Now, ladies, I guarantee you, in a couple of days, you'll be doing the double dutch with a jump rope together.

Brooke: Huh?

Taylor: So, uh, when do we start?

James: You've caused each other so much pain over so many years, it's time you learn to give each other pleasure.

Jackie: Oh, don't go.

Owen: Oh, come on. I have to go.

Jackie: Oh.

Owen: Come on, this is my chance-- my chance to prove to the world that I'm more than just your-- what is it that they call me? What is it, your boy toy or your, uh, your hunk of meat?

Jackie: (Laughs)

Owen: Come on, I want to make you proud.

Jackie: You're perfect as you are.

Owen: God, I'm gonna miss you. I love you, Jackie.

Jackie: I know you do.

Owen: Hey, look at me. I'm never gonna hurt you, all right? I'm never going to let you down.

Jackie: I know you won’t. I trust you with all my heart.

James: All right, ladies, before we can have any harmony, we have to understand the animosity between you two, and where it comes from. Here you are.

Taylor: Mm. Well, um, to put it simply, Brooke and I have always fought over Ridge.

James: What do you think about that, Brooke?

Brooke: It's true. Thank you.

James: So, Brooke, do you remember your first memory of negativity towards Taylor?

Brooke: Probably the first time she married Ridge after Caroline’s death.

James: And why do you say that?

Brooke: Well, I never really did trust her. I mean, she knew Ridge for about six months, and then she got him to marry her. Although Stephanie really adored her. I mean, she thought that she would be very suitable for her son so--

Taylor: That is not why Ridge married me. You always act like there's some kind of obligation, like the children or something, and--and--and she just never wants to accept the fact that Ridge really does love me, do you? You don't want to accept that.

James: This is good. We're opening up the channels of communication. You're bringing the wounds to the surface. Now I want to introduce a psychological and also a physical therapeutic process. You're gonna do something for Brooke. You're gonna do something nice for Brooke.

Taylor: Like what?

James: You're going to give her a massage.

Clarke: Time to go, buddy.

Owen: Hey, just give me one minute, all right? Come on, Jackie. Come on. I need my bags. Up, up, up, up, up. Come on. All right, listen. I will call you as soon as I get in, okay?

Jackie: Okay, stop, all right? There is something that you need to hear before you go, so put the bags down. I know I don't tell you enough how I feel about you, but I've always thought that actions speak louder than words, and I'm not lacking in that department, am I? Okay, stop. Enough with the flippancy. (Exhales deeply) Darling, my life has been peppered with men who have had enough power and money and charm, quite frankly, to tame that cougar. But not one of them has been able to tame me, to possess my heart, until you. You have got all of me. I truly love you. (Sighs)

Owen: I know you do.

Jackie: (Laughs)

(knocking on door)

Clarke: Owen, come on. Time to get a move on.

Owen: Oh, God. All right, all right. Mm.

Owen: Psst. I love you, too.

Jackie: I know you do.

Owen: Okay, listen, I need one minute, and I'll meet you down at the car, all right?

Clarke: We have got to get on the road.

Owen: I'll meet you down there. I'll be there in a second.

Clarke: Hurry up!

(Knocking on door)

Whip: Owen, hey. (Laughs) I would have thought that you were already on your way to San Diego with Clarke.

Owen: I wanted to lay some ground rules.

Whip: Ground rules? Oh, not a fan.

Owen: But you are a fan of my wife.

Whip: Oh, isn't everybody?

Owen: Come on, Whip. You think I don't see the way that you look at her-- all the little jabs that you make at me any chance that you get? I don't want you going downstairs, getting too personal with my wife. If you run out of milk, then go buy some. Hey, if you get lonely, why don't you call a singles hotline? Just stay away from my wife.

James: The healing powers of the human touch-- it can work wonders on a relationship.

Brooke: This is a little silly.

James: No, it's a little unorthodox.

Taylor: I don't want to do this, James.

James: Taylor, this is your opportunity to do something positive for Brooke-- Brooke who's been your enemy for how many years?

Taylor: Wow, James. (Sighs)

James: You can do it. It's part of the healing process. And remember Ridge's goal-- to end the animosity between you two that's caused so many problems for so many years.

Taylor: Fine. Fine. I trust--I trust you, and if this is what will make Ridge happy, then--then I'm willing.

James: Brooke?

Brooke: (Sighs)

James: (Laughs)

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Taylor: (Sighs)

Brooke: Oh! Ow! Taylor! (Groans)

Taylor: It's okay-- there's a knot right there. I'm sorry.

Whip: Oh, what a night. I love southern California. Huh, that door's never been open before. I wonder where it goes.

Jackie: (Gasps) Oh, oh! Oh! Who is it?

Whip: Oh! No. Um, Jackie--

Jackie: Oh, my God, you scared me half to death. I don't believe it!

Whip: Jackie, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I had no idea that that staircase led to your place. I would have never come--

Jackie: That's my private staircase to the balcony. I must have forgotten to lock the door. Oh, my God.

Whip: So our--our lofts are connected by--by those stairs?

Jackie: Yes, it would appear that they are. Whew. Oh, my God.

Whip: (Chuckles)

Jackie: Oh.

Whip: So I, uh-- I guess Owen left for San Diego, huh?

Jackie: Uh, yeah-- yeah--yes. He--he left with Clarke a little while ago. (Sighs)

Whip: So you want to talk about it?

Jackie: What?

Whip: The kiss.

Jackie: Oh, that. Oh, please. I mean, it--it happens. You were just drawn to your creation, and, well, I'm over it, and... (scoffs) I'm sure you are, too.

Whip: Jackie, I kissed you.

Jackie: Mm, it was a peck.

Whip: Okay, look. If you're not comfortable talking about this, I completely understand.

Jackie: Okay. (Sighs) Perhaps we have been flirting, you know, just a--just a little bit, enjoying each other's company, but now we are moving on.

Whip: Well, you just lead, and I'll follow.

Jackie: (Chokes) Not like that.

Whip: All right, look.

Jackie: (Sighs)

Whip: I've been-- I've been thinking a lot about you, and--and the incredible success that we're going to have.

Jackie: Oh, cheers to that.

Whip: But there's also been something else that I've been thinking about-- what an incredible woman you are, how beautiful you are.

Jackie: Oh, my God. When it rains men, it pours. Where were all you handsome devils when I had a drought for two decades?

Whip: Well, if you would have met me, I think I would have changed all of that.

Jackie: Oh, you're so charming. I really, really enjoy your company, but on a professional level, so I think you should tiptoe back up to your apartment, because I wouldn't betray my husband.

Brooke: Come on, Taylor. Put some muscle into it. Just like Ridge does when he's giving me a massage with his big, strong hands.

James: Brooke, don't bait Taylor. It's counterproductive.

Brooke: Hmm. You know what, James? This might just be working. I'm beginning to trust.

James: (Laughs) Excellent. I mean, that's the ultimate goal of this exercise.

Brooke: Although, I think all that Taylor really wants to do is ring my neck.

James: No, Taylor is opening avenues of energy that have been closed for a very long time.

Brooke: Mm, yeah. I do feel like I'm opening up. All these memories are... (laughs) coming flooding back to me.

James: Laughter. You know, laughter is one of nature's therapeutic medicines. It's very good. Do you want to share with us what you're feeling?

Brooke: (Laughing) Yeah. I get--I just can't get it out of my mind. It's so funny-- the image of the--the minister saying to Ridge and Taylor, "I now pronounce you man and horse." (Giggling) Come on, Taylor. You've got to admit that's pretty funny. (Laughing)

Taylor: Yeah, that's real funny.

Brooke: Yeah...

Taylor: That's really funny, Brooke.

Brooke: It's very funny.

Taylor: Yeah, interrupting my wedding, destroying my family's future right in front of my children-- that was real funny. You know what? Hey, let me help you with this.

Brooke: (Shrieks) oh, God!

James: Now ladies! No, no, no. Stop that. Stop that, please. Get your--

Taylor: (Speaking indistinctly)

Brooke: Ow! Ow!

James: Leave her head alone!

Taylor: What?

James: Stop it!

Brooke: Jeez!

Taylor: (Laughs)

James: This is not part of the process. Okay. All right. We have had a minor setback. That's what this is.

Brooke: (Sighs)

James: But you two will become friends, even if it kills me.

Taylor: (Sighs)

Jackie: (Sighs) (Groans) Oh, God, all of a sudden, it feels so lonely here without you, Owen. Hurry home. Hurry home. (Sighs) Hurry home.
