Taylor: (Sighs) Oh, my gosh. As if Forrester didn't have enough to worry about.

(Doorbell rings)

Brooke: Hello, Taylor. (Sighs) R.J.'s here to see his father.

Ridge: Obviously, Katie wasn't able to stop Spencer from running that photo.

Donna: Well, you're not blaming her, I hope.

Eric: No, of course not, honey. I'm sure she did the best she could.

Katie: Sorry I'm late. I had to wait for a copy of "Fashion Wear Daily."

Ridge: Let me guess. It had a "honey" of a cover, too.

Donna: Oh, my God. It's even worse, if that's possible.

Ridge: Hey, the more sensational, the more magazines Spencer sells.

Eric: Yeah, and the more chances he gets to make us look like idiots in the public's eye.

Ridge: All in the name of bringing the value of this company down so he can get his grubby paws on it.

Katie: Okay. Okay. Let's--let's look at this from another point of view. Some say that there's no such thing as bad publicity. And on the plus side, we are getting thousands of hits on our web site. We are getting e-mails from all over the world, requests for interviews, television appearances. Uh, you really can't buy this kind of exposure.

Eric: You-- why would anybody want to, Katie? God, look at this. This is a disgrace. Yeah, it's an image of--of this company that's gonna be seared in the public's mind forever.

Ridge: I'm not sure we're gonna recover from this one.

Eric: I don't know how anybody could possibly buy into a notion like that. Look, Katie, we have to-- we have to concentrate on damage control here. We have to dig ourselves out of this situation that Spencer has gotten us into. I have no idea how we're gonna be able to do that.

(Telephone buzzes)

Eric: (Mumbles indistinctly) (picks up receiver) Yeah? What?

Jarrett: (Groans) Forresterís designs were inspired. That should be the focus of these reviews. Instead, it's all just honey and humiliation.

Bill: You think your boss went too far, Jarrett?

Jarrett: (Sighs) I think I wouldn't like to be in Katie Loganís shoes right now. I mean, this is a publicity nightmare.

Bill: Well, as much as Eric hated me before, it's gonna be ten times that now.

Eric: I've made some, uh, significant changes around here that are going to affect our day-to-day operation here at the office and also, uh, decisions that are going to fill up some of the empty spaces that have been left by recent departures here at the company. Now these decisions are going to affect everybody here, starting with you, Donna. Nobody would blame you, after what you went through last night, if you washed your hands of the fashion industry completely and just ran out into the dark of night to get out of here. And yet, here you are, less than 12 hours later, right back at this table concentrating on pulling this company out of the hole it's in. Thank you. I appreciate it. And that's why I need you so much more than ever before to fill Stephanieís old slot around here. Thanks. And that's why I'm also promoting your son to Thorneís old position. Marcus has the sharp instincts, the same ones that his mother does.

Donna: (Sighs)

Eric: And his dedication and his concentration needs to be rewarded, so congratulations, son.

Marcus: Thank you, sir. I appreciate your faith in me.

Eric: You're welcome. As for Feliciaís responsibilities, I want the two of you to take those over. I have every confidence the two of you can do it. Congratulations.

Thomas: Wow. Thanks, Grandpa.

Eric: Okay.

Steffy: Thanks. We'll do our best.

Rick: Dad, where's Katie, our director of public relations? Shouldn't she be here doing damage control on this fiasco, or better yet, the man exploiting this, Bill Spencer?

Katie: Oh, good. You're not busy. I'm here to do some damage control.

Bill: I'll bet.

Katie: Although, it's a little late, considering Donnaís on the cover of all of your publications.

Bill: You couldn't buy that kind of exposure. Are you kidding me?

Katie: Eric thinks it's embarrassing.

Bill: Well, he would. That's not how I'd react.

Katie: Not everyone buys "there's no such thing as bad publicity."

Bill: Well, you shouldn't be held responsible. It certainly wasn't your fault.

Katie: Eric and Donna were hoping I'd be able to stop you from running the picture.

Bill: Then their expectations were unreasonable. But if anyone could have stopped me, it would have been you.

Taylor: (Sighs)

Brooke: I'm surprised Ridge didn't tell you that we'd be stopping by.

Taylor: Oh, I'm--I'm sure it slipped his mind with the fashion show and then all the craziness at the end. Is R.J. okay?

Brooke: Yeah, he's fine. He's settling in, watching his favorite video.

Taylor: Well, Brooke, I want you to know that Ridge and I are committed to doing whatever is best for R.J. and hope, too.

Brooke: What would be best for them would be to be living at home with Ridge, but since that's not possible...

Taylor: I know this is very difficult for you, Brooke, and I'm sorry about that.

Brooke: That's easy for you to say, especially since you won... for now.

Ridge: Okay, well, I say we counter Jackie M.'s momentum by building on last night's line. We're capitalizing on what we do best-- elegance, luxurious fabrics and timeless designs.

Eric: You know, normally, I would agree, but in today's economic climate, I--and--and with the bankers breathing down our necks like this, I don't think, uh--

Rick: Well, Dad, what about, um, focusing on Forrester International-- trying to broaden our overseas markets?

Marcus: Well, I don't know. In the middle of a global recession? It sounds kind of dicey.

Rick: You got a better idea?

Marcus: Yeah, I just might.

Rick: (Sighs)

Katie: Eric practically took my head off for not convincing you to keep Donnaís honey photo out of the press. They're pretty upset over there. It's been a pretty negative reaction to the picture you ran.

Bill: Hmm. Well, give it a couple days. The heat will die down.

Katie: I still don't understand why you felt like you had to do it. I mean, I-I know you say that it's just business, but is that all you care about really? Because that's the image that you're trying so desperately to convey.

Bill: I'm never desperate.

Katie: Oh. Lucky you. Us mere mortals have our moments.

Bill: I'll bet you think I've never done a good deed.

Katie: No. I know for a fact that you've done at least one. See, I remember this girl who got a little too tipsy and had to sleep it off in your hotel room. And you didn't lay a hand on me.

Bill: What was I thinking?

Katie: I don't know. But apparently, you're not the cad that you want people to think you are.

Bill: Here. For you.

Katie: What's this?

Bill: Good deed number two.

Rick: So that's your big idea to jump-start things here at Forrester-- a new younger line?

Marcus: Well, yes. You see, I've been doing some research-- actually, a lot of research. You see, Forrester lost a lot of its youth market after we lost Phoebe. Now if we were able to relaunch the line, say, featuring another hot, young, beautiful woman who embodies the same elegance and class that Phoebe did, someone girls everywhere will look up to, dress alike, emulate... plus, with Jackie M. slamming us about Forrester being stodgy, what better way than to introduce a new hot youth line to prove that we're anything but?

Ridge: He's got a point.

Donna: It's a wonderful idea, sweetheart.

Rick: Donna, with all due respect, I don't think you're really objective right now.

Thomas: What--what do you think about this, sis?

Steffy: Yeah, I-I like the idea, but who could we get? She's got to be really special. No way. Me? Oh, you've got to be kidding me.

Taylor: Um, please sit down.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Taylor: Brooke, I know you're struggling with all of this...

Brooke: (Sighs)

Taylor: But I really do believe that you're doing the best thing by letting Ridge go.

Brooke: I didn't do this for you, Taylor. Ridge despises my son, and I couldn't live with that kind of hate anymore. Somehow, I do believe that we could have worked things out if you hadn't gotten in the middle of it.

Taylor: Is-- is that your roundabout way of saying that I somehow sabotaged your relationship?

Brooke: Well, you did sleep with him even when he was medicated, drugged, not himself, which is really kind of strange, because he...

Taylor: (Scoffs)

Brooke: He's never taken drugs before in his life.

Taylor: Well, he's never had to deal with the death of a child before or been able to get over it.

Brooke: Taylor, you're a psychiatrist. You prescribe medication to people, and you know the signs to look for. You even said that you took that medication at certain times in your life. Well, Ridge took a whole bottle. He finished it off, and he drank some wine with it. So you're telling me you didn't know how out of it he was when you slept with him? Please. Don't expect me to believe that.

Ridge: I think Marcus is onto something. I'd like to hear more.

Marcus: You see, since the new youth line is a new territory for Forrester, they key would be to put a different spin on it, capturing the same magic that Phoebe brought. And who better to do that than her twin?

Steffy: Except I'm not Phoebe. She loved the spotlight. I'm, like, low-key. She loved the runway. I'm--I am much happier skateboarding.

Eric: No, sweetheart, your--your--your sister wasn't all that happy about modeling at first either, but once--once she stopped being nervous about it, she--

Rick: Dad, the spotlight is not for everyone. If Steffy is not comfortable with this, then we should--

Donna: Why don't we let Marcus finish, shall we?

Marcus: You see, I'm picturing colliding worlds-- something like Forrester elegance meets street cool. You see, we can put Steffy in front a graffiti-covered wall in a couture dress. Then we--

Rick: Well, that's never been done before.

Ridge: Not by us, it hasnít.

Eric: And I think that's exactly Marcusís point-- the--the unexpected from an old-fashioned company that's supposed to not be able to compete in today's youth-obsessed market.

Rick: I hear you. I just don't see this working. But if you are all for this idea, then--then I'll go along with it. In fact, I will spearhead the operation.

Eric: No. You know what? I appreciate that, son, but I, uh, I would rather the four of you all work together on this as a team.

(Cell phone rings)

Ridge: Hey, Doc. What's up?

Taylor: Ridge, um, Brookeís here with R.J., and she's been waiting here a little while. You were supposed to meet up with her to visit with R.J.

Ridge: Oh, God. That completely slipped my mind with everything going on around here. Tell Brooke that I am on my way. Sorry, everybody.

(Door opens)

(door closes)

Brooke: I told R.J. it shouldn't be much longer.

Taylor: Brooke, I was sitting here thinking about what you said that you didn't believe that I didn't know that Ridge was that medicated that night. And you know what? Maybe you're right. Maybe I didn't let myself see it, because I wanted to be with him that much. I do love him. I always will, Brooke.

Ridge: Sorry I'm late.

Ridge: Logan, you okay?

Brooke: You know what it's like when you realize that something's going to be really difficult, so you try to prepare yourself for it, and as difficult as you think it might be, it's really 100 times worse?

Ridge: (Sighs)

Brooke: Well, that's what this is, now that the shock's worn off, and I'm starting to realize what my life would be like without you. It's just... (sighs) it's hard to believe that we went from this wonderfully romantic wedding on the beach to this, to--to you living here with--with Taylor and your children, not ours.

Brooke: And the hardest part of it really is... (sighs) that... (laughs) it was my decision. This is the decision that I made. And I have to learn to deal with that. I have to live with that somehow, some way.

Katie: Bill, this article is scathing. It's about Eric and Donna and Forrester Creations. I thought you said this was a good deed.

Bill: It is. It's the article I didn't publish.

Katie: You didn't?

Bill: And wonít.

Katie: Why?

Bill: I just like to throw a change up every now and again.

Katie: You did this for me, didn't you?

Katie: Thanks. That article would have made things a lot worse. Wow. Bill Spencer did something nice for someone else. I didn't think it was in you.

Bill: Surprise, surprise.

Katie: (Laughs) What is with you? You're so afraid of anyone getting too close. You protect your heart. Why? I-I know your father was cold and calculating and the only friend he ever had was Stephanie Forrester, but you don't have to be that way. You know what I think? I think there's another Bill Spencer hiding deep inside of you, someone who's a little bit more complex, maybe even vulnerable. I'd like to meet him someday. (Sighs) You're gonna be a tough nut to crack. I'm sure a lot of women have tried, just not the right one. But I think you're worth the effort.

Marcus: Okay. So look. So we start off with a photo shoot, okay? We'll get you comfortable in front of the camera and then--

Steffy: Like that's ever gonna happen.

Rick: Marcus, I don't mean to be a wet blanket here, I really don't, but if Steffy is uncomfortable with this, I think that we should respect her.

Marcus: (Laughs) Respect her? I've always respected Steff, which is a lot more than I can say about you. But just so we're crystal clear, President, if the lady gives me even half a chance, oh, I'm gonna remind her every way I know why she and I were good together once and could be again.

Taylor: I'll go check on R.J.

Brooke: (Sighs) I'm sorry. I shouldn't have.

Ridge: Logan, it's ok.

Brooke: No. No, it's not okay. I-I didn't come here to give you a guilt trip. And I know that this was my decision. But it was the wrong decision.

Brooke: I really screwed up this time, didn't I? (Sighs) It must be the blonde hair. (Laughs) Your life is here now with Taylor. And that's--

Ridge: Brooke, um--

Brooke: No, really, Ridge, I have to accept that... (sighs) as much as it may hurt and as much as I love you, because I do love you, and I will never stop loving you. Never.

Ridge: Logan...

Taylor: I'll be right back, cutie.

Brooke: (Gasps) I hear them coming. I have to leave.

Ridge: No, Brooke. Don't, don't, don't, don't, donít. Come on. We have to talk here. Don't--don't run away right now.

Brooke: Ridge, I can't stay here. I have to go.

Ridge: Brooke.

Ridge: Logan.

(Car door shuts)

Ridge: Oh, Logan.

(Car engine starts)
