Man: The institution of marriage is not an institution in the ordinary sense. It is not artificial, not an invention, unlike states and divorce courts and churches. It wields an authority more ancient than any of those, born in the same instant as the human race. It represents the fulfillment of the deepest human longing, placed within us, the spark of life. It retells the story of the mystery of God's love. Dominick, are you ready to enter into this marriage with Bridget, believing that the love you share and your faith in each other will endure all things?
Nick: I am.
Man: And, Bridget, are you ready to enter into this marriage with Dominick, believing that the love you share and your faith in each other will endure all things?
Bridget: I... I don't think I could have told you "yes" the last time you married us, Reverend, but I understand now that believing in us is more than just understanding that there's gonna be mistakes. Believing in us means that I understand that we're together no matter what. I love you, and that is all that counts, so, yes, I-I do... (laughs) believe in our enduring love.
Brooke: "When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child, and when I grew up, I put aside childish things. At present, we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then we will see face-to-face. At present, I know partially, and then I shall know fully as I am fully known. Faith, hope, love remain, these three, but the greatest of all of these is love."
Man: We don't feel the same way about someone we love from day to day, moment to moment. Marriage is the commitment to turn back to love despite all, to remember that love is the truth between you. It is the commitment to tell the truth about yourself, to let yourself be known to one other person, someone who has promised to love and accept you, including all the things that you're not proud of. Dominick, do you take Bridget to be your lawful wedded wife? Do you promise to love and comfort her, to honor and keep her in sickness and in health, in prosperity and in adversity, and forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?
Nick: I do.
Man: And, Bridget, do you take Dominick to be your lawful wedded husband? Do you promise to love and comfort him, to honor and keep him in sickness and in health, in prosperity and adversity, and forsaking all others, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?
Bridget: I do.
Man: The rings.
Man: Please place the ring on Bridget’s left hand and in your own words, seal your vows to her.
Nick: (Inhales sharply) I think I've had the world's longest adolescence. (Scoffs) But, today, I stand here as an adult. You've seen me at my best and my worst, but yet you still stand here, willing to wear this ring.
Nick: So I would like to be your husband...
Nick: And spend the rest of our lives together, to be good to you, to be faithful and loving if you'll have me.
Man: Please place this ring...
Man: On Dominick’s left hand.
Bridget: Thank you.
Man: Say your vows to him.
Bridget: What can I say? You're home to me. (Sniffles) It's really just as simple as that. There are places inside me that were broken, and I didn't even know that they were there, and you healed them, and I stand here today a much stronger, clearer and happier woman, because I'm in love with you.
Bridget: And I am honored to be your wife today... (sniffles) and forever.
Man: In the presence of God and all the witnesses assembled here and by the authority vested in me by the state of California, I now pronounce you...
Man: Husband and wife.
Man: You may... you know the drill.
Bridget: (Laughs) (sniffles)
Stephanie: Well, I can't tell you how happy I am for you.
Bridget: Oh, thank you, Stephanie.
Stephanie: (Chuckles) And it's nice to know-- it's a comfort, actually-- to see that, as sensible a woman as yourself might be, has married the same shipwreck of a man as many times as I did.
Nick: I'll have you know I only lost one ship. It wasn't a very big one at that.
Nick: Okay, maybe two.
Bridget: Oh, thank you.
Felicia: Hey, sweetie.
Felicia: I just went to check on the kids, and Jack passed out before eating dinner.
Bridget: Well, let him sleep. I'll wake him up later for a little bit of fun, but you know what? Someone should be out with our guests.
Stephanie: Let's go. Come on.
Felicia: Bye, sweetie.
Katie: Hey. Um, congratulations.
Nick: I'm glad you came.
Katie: Me, too. It feels like closure.
Nick: For the mistake that we made. I'm sorry if I hurt you.
Katie: Well, I guess since you saved my life, I'll forgive you. You look really handsome.
Bridget: Thank you so much for coming. I really appreciate it.
Bridget: Thank you. (Giggles)
Owen: So I probably shouldn't be taking these into church, right? Congratulations on your wedding.
Bridget: Well, congratulations on living through it.
Owen: Yeah. Jackie's talking to Nick right now.
Bridget: Mm, there are not enough words in the English language to prevent a scene if you do not stay away from him, so, please, please, just for me, just for today...
Owen: Just for today. For you, I will do that. Believe it or not, I am very happy for you, but what are we gonna do about the rest of our lives? We're about to become family. We're gonna have to deal with it one way or another, right?
Nick: (Clears throat)
Jackie: It was a lovely ceremony.
Nick: You just had to do it, didn't you?
Jackie: Yes, I did.
Nick: Today, of all days.
Jackie: (Scoffs) Nicky, please, don't go there. No tantrums, no--no guilt trips. Can we please just talk like equals?
Nick: Mother, you can't be serious about marrying him.
Jackie: I wonder how many people said that to Bridget.
Nick: Look, can't we just cut to the chase here? Can't you just make this guy a cash offer?
Jackie: (Scoffs) And can't you consider that even people you don't like can actually fall in love, even with someone as unlikely as your mother?
Nick: Oh, cut it out. Stop all that. Of course I can. It's because of you, of--of who you are and all the good things that you deserve that I can't stand this.
Jackie: Yeah, well, you don't have to stand it, because it's my life, and it's my choice, and you know what? It is my money when it comes to that.
Jackie: And I do not believe that that is why Owen loves me, but I also don't think that he's blind to it. Supposing people are wrong, supposing money can actually buy you happiness, don't you think I'd snap it up after waiting so long?
Pam: Uh, excuse me. Uh, Bridget just sent me to tell you that the natives are gettin' restless.
Nick: Oh, right. Thank you.
Pam: So you, uh, finally found a float toy for your bath tub, did ya?
Jackie: Why didn't they lock you up when they had the chance?
Pam: You know, I'm sure there's a nice, long, psychiatric diagnosis for people who marry their rubber duckies, too. (Chuckles)
Jackie: (Chuckles sarcastically)
Katie: Still lusting? After Forrester, that is.
Bill: What? It's a nice party. I'm watching.
Katie: Like a Rottweiler watches a bone.
Bill: (Growls) (chuckles)
Stephen: Hello, Bill.
Bill: Well, Steve.
Stephen: Listen, I'm sorry about your father.
Bill: No, you're not. You hated his guts.
Stephen: No, he just wasn't my favorite boss.
Katie: Hi, Dad.
Stephen: Oh, hi, sweetheart. Where's your mother? Donna said she was with you.
Katie: Well, it's a big place. I'm sure she's around here somewhere.
Stephen: Yeah, well, I, uh, gave her my cell phone, so I can, uh, phone her from the pay phone.
Beth: Oh, Stephen, thank goodness. There you are. I've been looking for you.
Katie: Mother, where have you been?
Beth: Well, I just--I went to the garden to look around, and then I was trying to find you and your sisters.
Stephen: Well, honey, I think Brooke is busy being the mother of the bride.
Beth: Well, of course she is. I'll--I'll see her later, but... (sighs) you know, um, I'm not used to being around so many people, and I'm feeling a little worn out.
Stephen: Oh, sweetheart, would you like to go? I mean, what-- you want to leave now?
Beth: Well, if you don't mind.
Stephen: Not at all. Listen, Katie, would you tell Brooke and Bri-- well, tell everybody that, uh, your mother and I left, okay?
Katie: Sure, of course. Mother, are--are you all right?
Beth: I'm fine, sweetheart. I'm just--I'm fine. Thank you.
Katie: All right.
Stephen: She's fine.
Stephanie: So why are you and Ridge on opposite sides of the party?
Taylor: This is a family wedding. It's not a date.
Stephanie: You spent the night with him for the first time in years, and I'm not assuming that anything happened. I'm just--well, what is this sudden coolness between the two of you...
Stephanie: And with me?
Thorne: Come on, Mom, Nick and Bridget have had their solo time. Let's, uh, show 'em how it's done.
Stephanie: All right.
Brooke: I tried calling you at the guest house. (Sighs) I was surprised when you didn't answer.
Ridge: I'm sorry, Logan. I-it's just difficult to know exactly what to say.
Brooke: Looks like something's weighing on your mind that you do want to tell me or ask me. Is there?
Rick: Excuse me.
(Clinking spoon on glass)
Rick: Excuse me, everybody.
Rick: Does everybody have a drink in their hand?
Man: Yes, yes, yes.
Rick: Let's--let's pass those out a little bit, because I would like to make a toast to my beautiful sister and her beautiful groom. (Chuckles)
Rick: I want to congratulate you two on yet another amazing wedding. It's nice to see that there are still churches in Los Angeles that Nick has not been married in.
Rick: No, I'm--I'm--okay. No, seriously, it's--it's an honor to be here, to be your best man, and a show of hands-- who has not been married to Nick here at this party?
Eric: That's what...
Rick: Okay, no, I'm saying-- no, no, I'm saying that...
Bridget: There are some. There are some women...
Rick: He is back-- well, he's back where he belongs with the most beautiful...
Rick: Loving little sister anybody could ever ask for. So here's to Nick and Bridget on an amazing wedding. Congratulations, you two.
All: Hear, hear. Cheers.
Woman: Oh, cheers. Congratulations.
Nick: I finally have you alone.
Bridget: Well, we're not exactly alone, hmm? (Giggles)
Nick: Are you happy?
Bridget: Oh, my God. Deliriously. Are you?
Nick: Am I happy? Hmm. I didn't know a man could be so happy. I didn't know a man could make so many mistakes and be forgiven for them. I didn't know a man could do so many things wrong and not have it held against him, and I didn't know there was an angel like you that existed that could have such trust and faith to actually want to walk through life together. You know what you are? You give. You're a giver. You're not a taker.
Nick: I was thinking maybe you should have your head examined. Have you thought about that?
Bridget: Actually, I have, but then I thought against it, 'cause if I'm crazy, I just--I like crazy.
Nick: (Laughs) Well, that's what this is. It's crazy, and it's wild, and it's a ship of dreams, and that's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna make all your dreams come true until we grow old and gray together.
Bridget: That will happen, won't it?
Nick: Gracefully, I hope.
Bridget: Oh, me, too.
Nick: Well, I guess it's just you and me forever, kid.
