Ridge: (Sighs)

Taylor: Are you okay?

Ridge: Yes.

Taylor: You just can't seem to get this stuff out of your mind, can you?

Ridge: It's just everywhere I look. Even when my eyes are closed, all I can see is Rick and his hands all over our daughter.

Taylor: You need to find a way to distract yourself.

Ridge: I'm trying, Doc. I'm trying. But I'll tell you that you are a very big help.

Taylor: That's what I'm here for-- whatever you need.

Brooke: Ridge and Taylor have suffered a tragic loss, and I respect that. But still--

Stephanie: You don't respect that. I don't believe that for a moment.

Brooke: How could you even question that? I am a mother. The thought of losing one of my children would be terrible.

Stephanie: Oh, so you do get it. Oh, well, okay, then. Well, then you understand now why Taylor is the most qualified person to see him through this.

Brooke: Taylor is in love with Ridge. Her motives are suspect.

Stephanie: You're just worried that he'll respond to her, and if he does, that should tell you something.

Brooke: If he does, that tells me that he's very vulnerable and that Taylor would do anything she possibly could to take advantage of that.

Stephanie: You're right. He is vulnerable. But it's so obvious to me that he is more at peace and happier when he's with Taylor, because she gives him something that you can’t... or won’t.

Taylor: You know, one of the basic tenets of therapy is worrying will never solve a problem.

Ridge: Unfortunately, that doesn't stop anyone from doing it, though.

Taylor: Well, I know some tricks of the trade to help you stop worrying.

Ridge: Would it help me stop thinking about Steffy with Rick?

Taylor: Well, first, it's a little bit different than that. You start thinking about things that are positive, things in your life that are good, and you could start with Steffy. Think about how smart she is-- you know how smart she is- and the way she carries herself, her self-confidence and how skeptical she can be-- you know, how she questions authority and just about everything else. Steffy is not one to be taken in. How does that resonate with you?

Ridge: "Resonate"-- I like that word.

Taylor: See? It makes sense.

Ridge: Oh, Doc, you always make sense.

Taylor: Is that a compliment?

Ridge: I think it might be.

Taylor: Well, I don't like to think of myself as always so clinical. I have a crazier side, you know.

Ridge: Trust me. I'm not looking at you very clinically right now.

Taylor: How do you see me?

Ridge: As a sensitive, compassionate, very beautiful woman.

Brooke: You want him with Taylor. You always have. That's why you told her about the invalid marriage license.

Stephanie: I want him with a woman that provides him stability. You are not that person, and she is.

Brooke: Ridge doesn't love Taylor. He doesn't want to be with her that way.

Stephanie: If you really believe that, why are you so insecure?

Brooke: Oh, God. I am not insecure about Ridge.

Stephanie: Well, then, why were you running after him when you know he needs some--some distance from you? You can't help him.

Brooke: And of course, Taylor can.

Stephanie: You are the problem. She's the solution. Brooke...

Brooke: (Sighs)

Stephanie: He's on the verge of a--of a complete emotional collapse. Is that what you want for him? Really? Do--do you want him to have a-a-a breakdown? If you really love him, just give him some space. Just stay away.

Ridge: Look at you sitting there. You... you're almost glowing.

Taylor: Well, there's an obvious reason for that.

Ridge: Is there? You're wasting your night with a man who doesn't really have that much control over his life right now. Not much to glow about there.

Taylor: No. I'm spending the evening with the man who gave me three beautiful children.

Ridge: Why does it always feel so good being around you?

Taylor: (Scoffs) Probably because the feeling is mutual. I love being with you.

Ridge: Why is that?

Taylor: Because... of... evenings like this, conversations like this.

Ridge: We were always good at entertaining each other.

Taylor: Yeah. In more ways than one.

Stephanie: Hi. Uh, I'm actually at, uh, Brooke’s house. How's--how's everything going over there?

Taylor: Uh, they're going great. They're going very well. Ridge is, uh, out of the room at the moment, too.

Stephanie: Is he, um, little more relaxed?

Taylor: It was a little tense at first, but that is melting away.

Stephanie: Well... keep working your magic on him.

Taylor: Actually, you know, Stephanie, he's been saying the most amazing things to me. I can't believe it. It's like he's reconnecting with--with our relationship, the way it was. He even surprised me a little bit. (Sighs) So--so how are things going over there with Brooke?

Stephanie: Uh, she was on her way over to see Ridge when I got here.

Taylor: I do not want her coming here.

Stephanie: I don't either. Taylor. I think you should spend the night there.

Taylor: Well, that would be nice, yes. That would be very good.

Stephanie: Well, it might be the only night... (sighs) that you wouldn't have any interference from Brooke. I think that you probably should shut his cell phone off. Okay. I'll talk to you later.

Brooke: That was Taylor on the phone, wasn't it? (Cell phone chimes)

Ridge: What a great night this is.

Taylor: I was just thinking the me thing.

Ridge: You look terrific.

Taylor: Thank you.

Ridge: But then you always look terrific. And I guess it's the... (Inhales sharply) peace that you bring to me every time we're together now.

Taylor: Ridge, it isn't something that I have to try to do. It's just the way it is when we're together. (Sighs) We're so much alike. Simpatico. (Laughs)

Ridge: I guess so.

Taylor: I was thinking... (clears throat) about everything we've gone through together, Ridge. And we've gone through life's greatest joys... (sighs) life's biggest disappointments and tragedies and... somehow we've always been able to get through it and we've stayed close. It's- don't know. It's like... (sighs) it's a special bond that we have. And --it feels like right now like we're rediscovering each other, like we're connecting on a whole new level. And I don't want to ignore that. Do you?

Ridge: No. No. No. I think it's time... to go to the bedroom.

Brooke: I'm sure that was Taylor you were talking to. What did you tell her? To rush over to Ridge before I got there?

Stephanie: Taylor doesn't need me to tell her what to do. What--what, are you leaving?

Brooke: (Sighs) No, I'm calling Ridge.

Stephanie: Oh. (Sighs)

Brooke: Voice mail.

Stephanie: Good. I'm glad you didn't leave a message. You would only aggravate him.

Brooke: I am going to see him tonight, Stephanie. (Sighs)

Stephanie: And then what? Are you gonna tell him you've changed your mind about Rick? You gonna tell him that you're going to do everything in your power to keep Rick away from Steffy? Nothing has changed.

Brooke: I know what you're doing. You are just trying to reunite Ridge and Taylor. That's exactly what's going on here.

Stephanie: That would happen only if they both wanted that.

Brooke: Ridge doesn't want to be with Taylor.

Stephan: He doesn't want to be with you either. He's made that perfectly clear. Come on now. Look, he's had... (Sighs) Brooke, he’s been through hell these past few days. Come on. He needs some time alone.

Brooke: He's not going to be alone if you have anything to say about .

Stephan: Okay, let me ask you this question again. Are you prepared to walk away from Rick? Are you prepared to take your husband's side again--a-against this whole Rick and Steffy thing?

Brooke: My son is a good person. He really is in love with Steffy.

Stephanie: (Sighs)

Brooke: And pretty soon, Ridge is going to come to appreciate that.

Stephanie: Yeah, well, not tonight. Tonight, he doesn't want to think about your son and all the pain that he's caused him. Come on, Brooke. Brooke, you'll see him at work in the morning, won't you? Why don't you just let him have some time alone? Let him--let him have a little peace of mind. And just--just... (sighs) let him get a good night's sleep. Come on. How do you know-- perhaps tomorrow, he'll have a whole different perspective on everything. You can understand that. We all, at one time or another in our lives, need to be alone.

Brooke: When Ridge left here, he did say that this wasn't the end, and I really do believe that. We will find a way to get through this, Stephanie. And nothing or no one will ever come between us.

Ridge: How do I thank you enough?

Taylor: There's no need to do that.

Ridge: (Sighs) Oh. So beautiful.

Taylor: (Sighs) I've waited for this night for so long.

Ridge: We had one in Big Bear.

Taylor: (Sighs) That's when I knew things were changing. That's when I realized there was hope.

Ridge: Same for me. Same for me. All those weeks of angst and tension and... suddenly, the clouds parted, and I could see the stars and smell the mountain air, all because of you, Doc.

Taylor: Come here. I want to show you something.

Taylor: Look up at the stars.

Ridge: Ahh.

Taylor: You see that really big, like, bright one right there?

Ridge: That's the north star.

Taylor: I like to think of it as Phoebe's star.

Ridge: Phoebe.

Taylor: Yeah, she was our little star. I wish we could have seen her grow up and all the great things she was gonna do. And you know what? When I miss her, I'll look up there, and I... I know she has a bigger job to do now.

Ridge: You make it easier to--to think about her.

Taylor: I think about her all the time. I think about when they were conceived. I can remember the actual moment almost. I think about when they were born. She and her sister, they were just so beautiful. The delivery wasn't the easiest. (Sighs) We almost lost them.

Ridge: We almost lost you.

Taylor: Oh, no, no, no, no, no. I was not going to leave my handsome husband behind. And I wasn't going to leave my girls without their mother. Those memories are just so precious. Actually, I should be thanking you for our beautiful children. Thomas--he looks up to you. He admires you. Steffy adores you. I adore you.

Ridge: Let's, uh... let's lie down

Taylor: (Sighs) Oh, God. I've dreamed about this moment for so long.

Ridge: Ah, it does feel like a dream.

Taylor: Well, it's finally come true.

Ridge: Ooh, my head is spinning.

Taylor: I feel like my heart is about to jump out of my throat. (Laughs)

Ridge: Yeah, mine, too.

Taylor: Then maybe we should do something about that.
