Eric: What did he say?
Stephanie: He knows.
Jarrett: Who would have ever thought?
Bill: "Mr. Squeaky Clean" ain't so squeaky clean. The man hires undocumented workers and gives them false identities.
Jarrett: Hardly seems fair to those of us who had to go through legal means to get our green cards.
Bill: Stephanie didn't think I'd get the dirt on her ex, but I have struck the mother lode, and now I'm gonna cash in... big-time.
Eric: Now what did Spencer say? What did he say, exactly?
Stephanie: He didn't go into detail, he just wanted to tell me at he's coming here to see you.
Eric: It could be a colossal bluff. We have to get him to show his cards.
Bridget: Okay, what is it? You're distracted. What's going on?
Nick: My mother and Owen. Listen, this guy bugs me. You know him. Do you think he's a con man?
Bridget: Well, he was interested in Donna while my father was in a coma.
Nick: Exactly. Donna was rich, she was vulnerable, and this guy was living paycheck to paycheck, but she didn't go for it, which left him on the loose again, longing for a comfortable lifestyle, which exactly what my mother can provide him. (Sighs) But guess who's not gonna let that happen?
Owen: Nick is never gonna give up, not until he drives me the of the company and drives me out of your life.
Jackie: Well, since when have you known me to do anything that I don't want to?
Owen: Look, he thinks that he is protecting you.
Jackie: Well, I don't know any karate, do you? Maybe we should take lessons.
Owen: Look, Jackie, come on, I'm serious here.
Jackie: (Sighs) Okay, well... (sighs) perhaps his reaction is something that we should expect from others, too, when they find out. I mean, old woman, younger man. She's obviously it for the mind-blowing sex, and he's in it for the fringe benefits. It couldn't be anything else, could it? Since it's hardly a traditional relationship. It's probably something that you should consider, as well.
Owen: Please elaborate.
Jackie: You want a family. You want children, and since I'm well past the doorway of the 2:00 A.M. feedings, there are just certain realities that preclude our relationship from being anything more than it is now. We’re both at very different stages in our life.
Owen: Okay, so what if we are? Look, we both make each other happy. I mean, isn't that what matters at the end of the day? Unless there's something else that you're saying.
Stephanie: It seems that generous nature of yours is gonna get us in trouble. I'm thinking specifically of, uh, Claudia Cortez and Bobby.
Eric: (Sighs heavily) Yeah. I knew it was against the law when I did it. I just wanted to help. I wanted to help them get a leg up.
Stephanie: I know, I know.
Eric: It bothered you no end, even then, didn't it?
Stephanie: I'm responsible, too. I should have had a fight with you. I should have said, "no, we can't do something like this," but--
Eric: Couldn't say no to me, could you? We'd be so much better off now, all these years later, if you had.
Donna: What's going on? What is she doing here? I said, what is she doing here?
Eric: We have a situation, Donna. Look, we have several employees here who are not, uh, legal. They don't have papers. They're not U.S. Citizens, and I-- and I've known about it all this time. I knew about it when I employed them, I just, uh, but I gave them a job anyway 'cause I wanted to help them.
Donna: Well, that sounds like something you would do.
Eric: Oh, I did it for good reasons, yeah, but, uh, I may go to jail for it now. Stephanie came over to tell me that Bill Spencer has a good idea about this. He may be on to us.
Donna: Bill Spencer?
Donna: But what does he have to do with this?
Stephanie: Well, he picked up on something that I said, and now he's trying to make a federal case out of it.
Donna: You idiot! My God, you idiot! Because of you, my husband's future might be in jeopardy.
Bill: Keep digging. I'm gonna use anything remotely incriminating against Eric.
Jarrett: To get your hands on his company?
Bill: That's my goal, although I do have something else in mind.
Bill: Time to pay Eric a little visit.
Nick: (Whispers) Excuse me.
Bridget: (Sighs) Nick, don't you think you're being a little harsh on Owen? We do still owe him a debt.
Nick: (Normal voice) For what?
Bridget: Well, if you hadn't been jealous of Owen and rushed to the beach house, we may not be together right now.
Nick: Huh. Well, maybe I'll let him live... maybe.
Owen: Look. The only limitations on our relationship are the ones that we decide to put on it. Come on, Jackie, we can make this work, and it may not-- it may not be in the most conventional way, but-- but, yeah, I-- look, I want a family.
Owen: And I want to raise a child someday, but--
Jackie: Well, there lies the problem.
Owen: Well, then why does it have to be a problem? Why? There are plenty of great kids in this world that need somebody to raise them, and when we decide that the time is right, we get the ball rolling, and then we can just--
Jackie: (Laughs) Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. What are you saying that-- that we--we should adopt?
Owen: Why not?
Owen: I mean, come on it's the perfect solution for a couple like us.
Jackie: Oh, my God, you're serious.
Owen: I will do whatever it takes to have a life with you.
Stephanie: Donna, this is all speculation on Spencer’s part. He doesn't know anything.
Eric: He's--he's bluffing. That's what his whole phone call to Stephanie was all about. He wants this company. He's trying to scare me into selling it.
Donna: S-scared-- I'm--I'm scared, okay? He's a dangerous man.
Stephanie: Okay, well, now you know that. Keep your lips zipped when he gets here.
Bill: Knock, knock.
Stephanie: Oh, brother.
Bill: Just your friendly neighborhood dollar bill. I trust you've all be expecting me.
Eric: Yes, we have. I know why you're here, Spencer. I'm not gonna sell my company. I'm not gonna sell it to you, or to anybody else.
Bill: Hmm. Well, you know, Eric, I've got, uh, proof-- a lot of it, everything I need. I know what you did, and I know how you did it without anyone being the wiser, until yours truly. Here's how it goes down. Some poor sap some illegal, comes to you with his desperate story, and you, being the bleeding heart you are, work a little magic, and presto, change-- "Mr. Illegal" suddenly has a dead man's identity and social security number. Now he's documented, and you put him to work. Like, say, mm, I don't know-- oh! Bobby Gavieres, for example. There is enough ammo in that file to send you away for a very long time. And if the I.N.S. needed any more information, I've got a dozen folders just like the one sitting in my office. So, Eric, either you sell me Forrester Creations under my terms, or you pack your bags for an extended stay in the slammer with your new best friend Bubba. What's it gonna be?
Eric: This is extortion, Spencer.
Bill: You make it sound so dirty. I prefer to think of it as playing hardball. So what was my last offer? Uh, $80 million? It just dropped to $60 million.
Donna: Oh, my God, this is not happening.
Bill: I assure you that it is happening. In fact, here's the sales contract to prove it. Now I could go lower than $60 million, but out of concern for your beautiful wife, I won’t... yet.
Eric: Forrester Creations is not for sale at any price this is a family business.
Bill: Hmm. Yeah, you know, it would have stayed a family business, had Stephanie not gone all soft on me.
Donna: What does that mean?
Bill: What, she didn't tell you? Mama bear wanted me to cut her in on piece of the action.
Stephanie: You know, you think you're holding all the cards, but let me tell you something-- we've been in tougher situations than this, and we've always come out on top. Eric is right. This is a family company. It's going to stay a family company, and he's going to be in charge, and I'm going to make sure that it stays that way.
Owen: Why are you so surprised? Couples adopt every single day.
Jackie: Yes, yes, couples do... (laughs) adopt. But you and me, I mean, we hardly are a couple.
Owen: Look, Jackie, I'm not saying that we need to go out and do this today. I'm just saying that we need to stop thinking about all the reasons why we can't be together and start thinking about the reasons why we can.
Owen: Yeah, yeah, we had fun. It was all fun and games at first, and, you know, we had a blast with the whole "boy toy" thing, but--
Owen: But I want more. And I want more because of what you have brought into my life. Look, when I'm with you, it's like this-- this amazing, unpredictable ride that I never know where it's gonna end, but I gotta tell you, it is one hell of a rush getting there. Jackie, you make me feel alive every minute that I'm with you, and any guy would be-- would be nuts not to see that you are so smart, and you're so sexy, and... come on, did I mention sexy?
Owen: Hey, look at me. You are the best thing that has ever come into my life, and I want more, all right? I want more of you, and I want more of us, and I just-- I hope that you want the same thing, too.
Bill: Still trying to take me on, mama bear?
Stephanie: I'll do whatever I have to to keep this company in his hands, believe me.
Bill: You know, I have given Forrester Creations a great deal of thought. It's a rare jewel. The truth is, have coveted it for years. Now I can have it. Trust me, you don't want to fight me on this. Not only will "Mr. Compassion" over here to jail, but all of your illegal employees, past and present, are going to suffer, as well.
Eric: You're a small man, Bill Spencer-- small and cruel.
Bill: No, I'm just a businessman. I don't get all cluttered up with emotions. You know what I-- I'm a little bit, uh, perplexed by? What is this sudden loyalty you have to Eric, Stephanie? This man has caused you nothing but pain and angst, and you practically eviscerated him in your chronicles and webcasts.
Stephanie: Well, it's one thing to vent. It's an entirely different thing to send somebody to prison. His actions were based on the fact that he is a decent and good man.
Bill: So now he's a "decent" and "good man"?
Stephanie: Something you wouldn't know anything about.
Nick: Excuse me, honey, excuse me. (Exhales deeply)
Bridget: You really think Owen is just using your mother?
Nick: Yes. She's blinded right now. He has got her right where he wants her.
Bridget: Where does he want her?
Nick: As much as I hate to say it-- in bed. See, my mother's a lot like me, though. She's gonna get bored. She's gonna want something real, something she can count on, something she can trust, something like we have. And she's gonna realize do the road here, Owen's not gonna be able to give her that.
Jackie: (Exhales deeply) You sweet, sweet, magnificent, magnificent person. No man has ever said anything so touching to me in all my life.
Owen: Look, I meant every word of it.
Jackie: And I mean this-- not long ago, I was a very lonely woman, which I managed to hide from most people most of the time, including myself, I threw myself hard enough into my work or my son or my grandson. When I looked in the mirror, I saw the truth-- the woman looking back at me, she was a bore, and she wasn't very glamorous, and actually, she was-- she was terribly, terribly sad. (Cries) But then you came into my life... (laughs) and oh, boy, did you change that. I'm not lonely anymore, you see? I'm not lonely. I'm really, really happy... (sniffles) and it's all because of you.
Jackie: My darling, because of you.
Jackie: How could any woman-- how could I not want more?
Bill: Okay, folks, we're in the bonus round. Time to make a decision. I suggest the two of you spend a little time alone, since you perpetrated this fraud together.
Eric: Come on.
Stephanie: We're in one fine mess.
Eric: Well, I made the decision in the first place. It's my responsibility, and now he's holding a gun to my head. Either I sell him the business, or I go to jail.
Donna: I despise you for doing this to my husband.
Bill: Put your claws away, pussycat. You can make this all go away.
Donna: One night with you, and you leave him alone.
Bill: I won’t notify immigration, there will be no charges, and your husband gets to keep his company.
Donna: You're disgusting.
Bill: I'm really not such a bad guy. It's just that I'm intrigued by you. A woman like you with a man like Eric-- just doesn't compute for me.
Donna: Of course not. You're far too superficial.
Bill: There's something about you, Donna. I can't even explain it. I mean, I see women every day that I could have for the asking, but they just don't interest me much. With you, it's different. Honestly, I wish you weren't married. Then I would be wining you and dining you, romancing the pants off you... or trying, anyway. Your husband is a very lucky man.
Donna: Well, he won't be if you-- if you rob him of his--his life's work or you send him to jail.
Bill: It doesn't have to be that way. Look, there are few people that I am really desirous of spending time with, and you're one of them. Give me a chance to show you what a great guy I can be. Let me give you the most incredible evening of your life, one that you will never forget. And it won't just be about you. You'll be giving your husband a chance to hold on to everything he holds dear.
Bill: So what's it gonna be, my little barracuda? What do you say?
