Taylor: Ridge, I'm-- I'm telling you the truth. I wouldn't lie to you about something like that. That's not me.
Ridge: Of course it isn't, Doc. I-I just don't understand.
Taylor: You and Brooke said your vows on the beach, and then you went to city hall. But the marriage license, it--it isn't valid. So the marriage was never legal, which means you and Brooke are not husband and wife.
Bill: Come on, work with me here.
Donna: You actually think that I would hook up with you to stop Stephanie from spewing her poison? You're out of your mind.
Bill: Stephanie's departure is having a more debilitating effect on Forrester Creations than Eric anticipated. Your husband is screwed. But with a little carpentry work on your part, you could fix things right up for him.
Donna: Why are you doing this?
Bill: (Whispering) Because I can.
Donna: So you're gonna let Stephanie keep on ranting then? Why don't you go back to New York?
Bill: 'Cause I like the weather out here. It's better for my tan. Actually, Iím looking to live in Beverly Hills. In fact, uh, there is an estate I'm looking at, and I think it's right next to the Forrester estate. That wouldn't happen to be where you live, would it?
Donna: Don't you dare.
Bill: I would hate to see Forrester, a once-great company, fade into the dust.
Donna: Well, then help me.
Bill: Get on your knees, say, "pretty please," and maybe I will.
Rick: Hey. Did you show your dad the DVD?
Brooke: (Sighs) Ridge had a huge reaction.
Steffy: He thought it was the biggest stunt you've pulled yet.
Rick: What? It wasn't a stunt! Oh, my God!
Steffy: I tried to tell him that.
Brooke: So did I.
Brooke: But he refuses to see it as anything else.
Rick: All right, you know what? Maybe--maybe I should talk to him, and then I--
Steffy: No, no. It's not gonna change anything. He is against us more than ever. What we need to do is face reality. My dad's not gonna change his mind. Rick, we can't be together.
Ridge: How could this be possible? Everything is very official.
Taylor: But it isnít. There was a-a clerical error. Pam typed up the forms that had the dates and the social security numbers on it, and I guess whoever was on duty let the paperwork go through, and then later their error was caught, and Pam got the marriage license back in the mail with an "invalid" stamp on it.
Ridge: How is it that I'm just finding out about this? How would you know and nobody told me?
Taylor: Pam was scared. I-I guess she was afraid. She didn't want to come tell you. And so she went and told Stephanie.
Ridge: Why didn't Mother say something?
Taylor: Well... (Sighs) I guess she didn't want to upset you any more. You already had a lot of tension with this stuff going on with Rick, and so I agreed with her. But then later I realized it was wrong.
Taylor: It is just a-- you know, it's a clerical error. It's--you could fix it if you really wanted to. As much as I wish Rick would just leave Steffy alone, I-I don't see that happening unless he has to, and Brooke isn't doing anything to help us. (Scoffs) Gosh, it seems like we're the only ones who really get it. We're the only ones in agreement on this.
Taylor: I just-- I don't understand why Brooke won't support you in this. That's not the way I would have treated you. I never treated you like that when we were married. (Sighs)
Taylor: Sometimes I-I dream about that. You ever think of those times, too?
Rick: Steffy, you cannot give up on our relationship this easily.
Brooke: It has to be done. The situation is too volatile. If you had seen Ridge, he was practically shaking with anger.
Rick: (Sighs) Why am I even surprised? Ridge always thinks I have an ulterior motive. I should have expected this.
Brooke: Rick, I know you made this DVD with the best of intentions...
Brooke: But Ridge still will not allow you two together. It's over, and you have to face that.
Rick: No, it's not over, so I'm not gonna face it. It's not going to happen.
Brooke: Steffy, I know that you've forgiven Rick and all those horrible things that he said, but you saw how furious your father was, and now he's even more angry with this tribute to Phoebe.
Rick: Mom, this wouldn't be you taking Ridge's side over mine again, would it?
Brooke: Don't say that.
Rick: Well, it--it's true. You have to admit that there's a part of you that knows Ridge is being grossly unfair to Steffy and me.
Brooke: Ridge warned me not to support the two of you anymore, and I went against those wishes by helping you today. I can't keep doing that. Don't you understand? My marriage is on thin ice, especially now, with all of those horrible things that Stephanieís saying about my family and me.
Ridge: This is a hell of a lot to digest, Doc. Not the best timing.
Taylor: Or maybe it's perfect timing. (Laughs)
Ridge: I can't deny Brooke and I have seen better days. I'm just frustrated with the way she always defends her son. I mean, what he did today and her reaction to it--
Taylor: Oh, that was a slap in your face.
Ridge: Definitely brings up some issues, doesn't it?
Taylor: It's the same issues you've been having for a long time now. (Scoffs) My God, that video was a sick manipulation.
Ridge: I always believed that we could get through anything, but when she continues to support her son and his involvement with our daughter, no matter how much I've tried to make my feelings known and understood by her-- it's just mind-boggling to me. I... I didn't expect this from Brooke.
Donna: That design takes me back a few years. It reminds me of your father. You're a lot like him, aren't you?
Bill: Oh, I don't know about a lot like him, but they do say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Donna: Especially the rotten ones. So I guess I shouldn't be so surprised with your behavior. Did you know your father once had nude photos taken of me for a magazine?
Bill: You had quite an impact on him, which is why he wrote you into the will.
Donna: And he got the last laugh. Another man after his own brand of humor.
Bill: My father appreciated you, Donna, just like I appreciate you. You're my kind of woman. You go after what you want. You seduce Eric, give him the greatest sex of his life, and bam, you're the new queen of Forrester. You go after what you want, and you get it.
Donna: My marriage isn't about sex.
Bill: Oh, come on. Youíve got to have epic skills in the sack. And I am dying to experience them.
Donna: (Laughs) You are unbelievable. Nothing is ever going to happen with us, you got that?
Bill: (Chuckles) Playing hard to get. One of my favorite characteristics in a woman. It's all right. I don't mind chasing you a little bit, as long as I don't have to work too hard. It'll make it all the more worth while when I do get you, because I always get what I want.
Donna: You need a new rap. And this was the most unprofessional meeting that I have ever had.
Bill: This is a meeting you'll never forget.
Donna: And what is that supposed to mean? Okay, why did you come here, Bill? What--what do you really want with Eric and me?
Rick: (Sighs) I wanted to do something good, something right. I wanted to pay tribute to--to Phoebe, but of course, Ridge-- he doesn't cut me a break.
Brooke: He doesn't believe that your intentions were sincere.
Rick: Of course he doesnít. He thinks I'm manipulating Steffy again because I want to get back together with her, but this was a peace offering for Ridge, for Steffy, for their whole family.
Steffy: And it was such a beautiful tribute. I haven't felt this close to Phoebe since-- well, since, we lost her.
Rick: When I saw your face when you were watching this video, I'm sorry, but I allowed myself to believe that you and I could get back together again, that we had a chance. But of course, now Ridge pulls the rug out from underneath us.
Steffy: I didn't make any promises on how he would react. I warned you not to get your hopes up.
Rick: I know that you want to be with me just as much as I want to be with you.
Steffy: Yeah, I do.
Rick: So what's keeping us apart?
Steffy: It's something that my dad needs. He needs a distance between us and Phoebe's death. He can't and he won't accept that you were behind the wheel when Phoebe died.
Taylor: Brooke's never lost a child. She has-- she has no idea the kind of pain that we're dealing with. No, we lost our child. We lost Phoebe in a tragic accident.
Ridge: You mean Rick killed her.
Taylor: She doesn't deserve to be with somebody like him. Sheís still healing from losing her sister. I mean, hasn't she been through enough?
Ridge: I don't think he could get any worse.
Taylor: Oh, with a narcissist, anything is possible. He thinks he's the center of the universe, that the world revolves around him.
Ridge: What Rick pulled today was sick, and Brooke bought into it.
Ridge: I keep saying that things are insurmountable with Brooke and me, but if she continues to push this, and if she continues to support her son and his involvement with our daughter... I just don't know if Brooke and I are gonna be able to make it.
Donna: You have something against Eric. I know your father did.
Bill: My father admired Ericís wife, just as I admire you. He's carved himself quite a little empire here in Los Angeles-- a beautiful wife, toast of the fashion world.
Donna: Look, if you admire Eric, and you're so attracted to me, why are you teaming up with Stephanie to come after us?
Bill: Doesn't make any sense, does it?
Donna: No. No, I believe that there is a reason for everything that you do. You have teamed up here with an angry, jilted woman. And it's only gonna end up making you look bad in the end.
Bill: I never look bad in the end, and your ending doesn't look too bad either.
Donna: (Scoffs) Will you stop? Do you really want me to believe that you came here to L.A., the land of the young and the beautiful, to hit on me, a married woman? What is it about you that attracted you to me? Or is it that I'm Ericís wife? You want me, but there's more. What is it, "dollar Bill"? (Intercom buzzes)
Bill: I have to take that.
Bill: Hope to see you soon, my little barracuda. Spencer. No, absolutely not. I want those contracts on my desk today.
Brooke: You promised me you wouldn't push this.
Rick: I know.
Brooke: I'm gonna give you some time to say good-bye to each other, and this time, mean it.
Rick: (Sighs) I don't want to do this, Steffy, at all.
Steffy: We have to.
Rick: Can you explain to me why we are living our lives for other people?
Steffy: Because it's bigger than both of us. We can't fight it anymore. Itís out of our hands.
Rick: (Sighs) Look at this. Look how big this world is. We can go anywhere. We can be anywhere. And we can own this world, as long as we are together. Come away with me.
Steffy: We can't run.
Rick: Yes, we can.
Steffy: No, we canít. I cannot turn my back on my dad. Donít ask me to do that.
Rick: What about your happiness Steffy? What about our happiness?
Steffy: I'm not going to be happy knowing what I'm putting my dad through. This is just not gonna work.
Rick: We have something that comes along once in a lifetime, Steffy. Please do not throw this away.
Steffy: We have no choice. We have to go our own separate ways, and if you loved me... (Sighs) you would understand that, and you'd say good-bye.
Rick: So this is it?
Rick: (Sighs) I want you to have this.
Steffy: No, no. I--no. I cannot take it back.
Rick: No, just listen to me. I really want you to have this. You don't have to tell anybody. Just put it in a safe place, and whenever you're feeling alone, I don't know, take it out. Look at it and know that I'm with you, 'cause that's where I'll always be.
Taylor: I get that it's a mother's right to want to protect her child, but to justify Rickís needs over yours?
Ridge: My main concern is always Steffy.
Taylor: I can see how this is affecting you. I mean, you've been through so much, Ridge. You've already lost your daughter. I just--I don't know how Brooke expects you to deal with this, and Rick is the last person she should be around ever. I-I don't know what else needs to be said. Steffy ended the engagement. She said no. I said no. You said no. But Rick doesn't want to hear "no." I-I cannot understand why Brooke wants to ignore the fact that we have all said no.
Ridge: You know, Doc, when you put it in perspective, it all seems very clear, which is why I cannot understand Brookeís point of view with all this.
Taylor: I've stood back, and I've watched you do this dance with Brooke for years, and it always turns out the same. You're unhappy. I've always thought so. You were happiest when you were with me. There are so many things I wish I could go back and do over again. (Sighs) Because, you know, you blink, and then your kids are grown up, and suddenly you're grandparents.
Ridge: (Shudders) Let's hope not anytime soon.
Taylor: Oh, I don't think either one of us are ever going to be ready for that.
Taylor: I miss you. I'd give anything if I could go back and do things differently.
Taylor: Really, that's kind of your choice now. It just depends on what kind of future you want to have.
Ridge: Doc, um, I'm not going to re-file the marriage license just yet. And I want this to kept between the two of us.
Taylor: If you were married to Brooke, I wouldn't be able to do this, but you're not married to Brooke.
Taylor: Maybe we can pick up where we left off.
