Brooke: I'm sorry, but the issue is settled. Thomas will not be working here at Forrester Creations.

Taylor: Who appointed you dictator? This matter is anything but settled.

Brooke: Please, Taylor, let's not do this to Thomas.

Ridge: Do what to Thomas?

Brooke: (Scoffs) Ridge, you know perfectly well why he can't work here. Let's not rub his nose in it.

Thomas: Uh, I think I can handle it, Brooke.

Rick: Yeah, well, I don't think I can handle you being in the this building.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Rick: You should be in prison right now, and you would be if it weren't for my generosity, so you're sure as hell not gonna be roaming these halls.

Ridge: Not your call, Rick.

Rick: It's my life, Ridge, and he's a threat to it, so, yeah, it is my call.

Steffy: You know, you're something else.

Marcus: Hey, I'm just an old Southern guy.

Steffy: No, you're a friend, and that means more than you can know, especially after how I treated you.

Marcus: Girl, will you just chill? Okay, look, I don't roll that way, all right? You were a victim.

Steffy: God, I hate that word.

Marcus: No, I feel you. Isn't it the worst though, thinking of yourself that way? Hey, look, I was one, too. I mean, Rick had me believing all kinds of crap. Sent me to Paris to work for International. Man, I thought I was being groomed up for something. (Laughs) President Rick just wanted to get rid of me so he could make moves on you.

Steffy: Yeah, well, that's all behind us.

Marcus: Yeah, well, for now. I mean, he's still around, so-- and he's definitely not through with you.

Steffy: Trust me, I know. I'm prepared.

Taylor: Thomas is not a threat to you.

Thomas: It's nice to know you think I am. Makes it easy to keep you in line.

Rick: Oh, my God. This is exactly what I'm talking about.

Thomas: I'm kidding. Rick, what happened to your sense of humor?

Rick: No, I'm sorry. I am not gonna put up with this bull.

Brooke: You won't have to, honey. This is not a debate. Thomas, you have to take responsibility for your actions. You cannot work here at Forrester Creations.

Ridge: Thomas is my son. He's not gonna be shut out of the family business.

Rick: Ridge, will you get real?

Ridge: Oh, this is very real. We have to restore confidence in Forrester Creations, Rick.

Brooke: And you think he's the answer to that?

Taylor: He is a Forrester. What are you talking about, Brooke? This company needs more Forresters. I mean, this-- right now, everything's a little bit divided.

Ridge: She's right, Logan.

Brooke: (Scoffs) You're siding with her?

Ridge: Ever since Rickís taken over, this company's been mired in scandal.

Taylor: We're losing credibility.

Brooke: "We"? Wait, did you say "we"? Taylor, you are not a part of this company, and you are not a Forrester.

Taylor: I am as much a part of this family as you are. And if you don't believe me, go talk to Eric. Go talk to Stephanie. Go talk to Thorne, Felicia, anybody in the whole family. They'd tell you that.

Rick: I'm a Forrester. I don't see you that way.

Taylor: Rick, you're not acting like a Forrester right now. You're acting like your mother's son.

Brooke: (Scoffs) Are you going to allow her to talk like this?

Ridge: What I'm not going to allow is my son to be railroaded. He has as much right to be here as Rick does.

Brooke: He tried to kill Rick.

Thomas: Brooke, if I wanted to kill Rick, he'd be dead. I was sending a message.

Rick: What happens when you want to send me another message, Thomas? Except this time, you accidentally blow it, and I end up on a slab. We can talk about this till we're all blue in the face, but the bottom line is we are not hiring this kid, and don't even think about going behind my back. (Door opens) (Door closes)

Taylor: He acts like he owns the company.

Brooke: No, he just runs it.

Taylor: (Sighs) Ridge is the C.E.O., and Eric said it was okay. He wanted Thomas to work here, so there you go.

Brooke: What is it with you and your attitude?

Taylor: I'm just looking out for my son. I think you know how that goes.

Brooke: If it weren't for my son, Thomas would be behind bars.

Taylor: Oh, my God. Are we playing the blackmail card again?

Brooke: No, it's a fact, Taylor.

Ridge: No, Brooke, she's right. The only reason Rick didn't go to the police was to keep me from hassling him about Steffy. I had to go along with it. There was no choice.

Taylor: But you have a choice now, Ridge. There's nothing to prevent you from hiring Thomas.

Brooke: Damn it, Taylor. Just stay out of it.

Taylor: You're just going to have to insist on this and override their decision and do what you want to do. Look what happens when they make decisions. They're Logans. They're not Forresters. Your mother's gone. Rick and Donna are running this company. (Scoffs) You have every right to do what's best for your son. Look out for your son, Ridge. Otherwise, the Logan family is going to run the whole company, and we can't allow that to happen.

Marcus: Look, I know you say that you can handle Rick, okay? But it's like you're lost to the guy.

Steffy: I'm not letting him back into my life.

Marcus: Just be careful, okay?

Rick: Hey, you two. Mind if I talk to Steffy?

Marcus: Oh, yeah, sure, man. Yeah, go ahead. Knock yourself out.

Rick: Alone.

Marcus: Oh, what, so you can run your game on her? Mm, no, I don't think so.

Rick: That's not why I'm here.

Marcus: Oh, so what's up with the "I need alone time" then?

Steffy: Marcus, it's-- it's okay. It's okay. I can handle Rick.

Marcus: You know, I'm sure she's gonna tell you this, and I will, too. It's over. So what's in your best interest? You let Steffy be.

Rick: It's amazing how that guy talks to the president of this company.

Steffy: You're not doing anything to Marcus, and you're not getting anywhere with me. So what's up?

Taylor: Ridge, you are the person in charge. Thorne and Felicia, they should at least be getting promotions. Your mother should be here, and Thomas should be designing.

Brooke: (Sighs) I can't take this anymore. Thomas, will you please just give us some privacy?

Taylor: No, just stay right where you are.

Brooke: I'm not gonna discuss this any further with your son in the room.

Thomas: Why not? It's my future we're talking about.

Ridge: Thomas, why don't you step outside, please? (Door closes)

Brooke: Thank you. You must realize why I can't have him working here.

Taylor: Oh, my God. If you thought that Thomas was such a threat to Rick, you would have body guards here, and you would have police protection-- whatever it took. But you don't have them here, do you? Because Thomas isn't a threat. You just don't want him here because he's our son-- mine and Ridge's.

Brooke: Do either one of you understand the enormity of what Thomas has done?

Ridge: Thomas has done what Thomas was pushed to do by Rick.

Brooke: Oh, my God. You are justifying it.

Taylor: As if you don't justify your son's behavior-- the lies, the manipulation, the way he treats Ridge?

Ridge: Okay, I'm done discussing this. Rick works here. Thomas will, too.

Brooke: I can't accept that, Ridge.

Ridge: Well, then, I'm sorry, Brooke. I'm insisting. (Cell phone rings)

Ridge: Okay, I'll be right there.

Taylor: (Sighs)

Ridge: I have a meeting to go to. Can I leave you two here alone?

Taylor: I have nothing further to say.

Brooke: Well, I do.

Ridge: Logan, keep it civilized.

Brooke: Go to your meeting. (Door closes)

Taylor: (Sighs)

Brooke: Our marriage is not in trouble. I just want to get that straight.

Taylor: Okay. All right.

Brooke: So you've finally come out of the closet. You used to deny that you had feelings for Ridge, and now you're acknowledging them.

Taylor: Okay, and if you would just now admit that you're in denial about your son Rick, then we'd all have a lot better mental health, wouldn't we?

Brooke: I'm well aware of my son's shortcomings.

Taylor: Shortcomings? Is that what you want to call that? (Sighs) Rickís lifelong obsession with destroying Ridge at the expense of our daughters, one of whom is dead? Thank God Rick didn't get to do that to Steffy.

Rick: I just-- I want to tell you about some major realizations I've had.

Steffy: Good for you. But honestly, I'm just not interested.

Rick: I know.

Steffy: So there's nothing more to be said.

Rick: Steffy, I just-- I want some-- I want some closure with you. Just hear me out. It'll take a minute.

Steffy: Okay, you've got, um, 55 seconds. Better make use of it.

Rick: (Scoffs) G-God, okay, um, first off, I want you to know that I understand why you broke up with me, and you were right in doing so.

Steffy: How enlightened of you.

Rick: Well, I guess I'm not as dumb as I look.

Steffy: Well, you had us all fooled there or a while, didn't you? Yeah.

Rick: Oh, not everybody. No, your father called me out a few times.

Steffy: Wow, you're actually acknowledging that.

Rick: Well, think about it. Joining the military with my medical history? I mean, what the hell was up with that?

Steffy: My dad knew what was up with that.

Rick: And stealing my own company's designs, giving them to Jackie M. I really didn't think that one through too clearly, either.

Steffy: Yeah, and that stupid excuse you gave me which I foolishly believed.

Rick: No, believe it or not, that was legit, I swear.

Steffy: What, that you were paving the way for you and me to get jobs at Jackie M. so we could be together?

Rick: (Sighs) All right, when you-- when you say it out loud right now, yeah, it sounds a little bizarre.

Steffy: Yeah, just a little.

Rick: Steffy, I was the president of this company. And I-I was sabotaging my own company.

Steffy: You were out of your mind.

Rick: I was crazy-- crazy in love with you. I told you that.

Steffy: No, no, no, no, no. Just crazy.

Rick: All right, give credit where credit is due. I was desperate to be with you. I wanted to build a future with you. That's something we could never do here at Forrester Creations.

Steffy: So what? You stole the designs, and you gave them to the competition thinking what? No one would ever find out? We would get hired and live happily ever after at Jackie M. Designs? (Chuckles)

Rick: It almost worked.

Steffy: Thank God it didnít.

Rick: But what if it did? Think about it, Steffy. We'd be over there right now. We'd be happy. And none of this ever would have happened.

Brooke: So who do we credit for this new aggressive attitude of yours?

Taylor: Strike at my children, and I will get aggressive.

Brooke: That has nothing to do with it. You're using your children to make inroads with Ridge.

Taylor: Here comes the paranoia.

Brooke: So who put you up to this? Stephanie? You're acting more and more like her every day.

Taylor: I'll take that as a compliment.

Brooke: Well, donít. It wasn't meant to be one.

Taylor: Look, I-- I am just trying to let my son have his rightful claim to this family company.

Brooke: I believe that you give up your rights once you commit felonies.

Taylor: How do you get by with that double standard? I-I'm sure that some of the things that Rick has done could be labeled also as felonies. You know, it--it-- it's really fascinating why you're fighting this so hard.

Brooke: "Attack my children, and I will get aggressive."

Taylor: No one is attacking Rick. It's definitely not Thomas. There's a little bit more to this, and--and I-- I think we both know what it is.

Brooke: Oh, right. This is about my insecurities about you.

Taylor: I can't help it if Ridge and I have gotten closer because of all of this.

Brooke: You share a daughter that was wronged by my son. That's about how close you are, Taylor. This is almost laughable.

Taylor: I don't see you smiling. And I definitely don't see you laughing.

Brooke: You're a pest. You're a pest that's wasting my time. You're not gonna be close to Ridge. You have to accept that, and if you don't, you're just going to be depressed, and you're going to hit the bottle again. Is that what you want?

Taylor: Oh, wow. (Scoffs)

Brooke: You despise everybody that's running this company, everybody that's in power here. And Ridge is a part of that, because he is my husband. And we are fighting, Taylor, to make this business thrive. We love it. We love the challenge of that. It ignites us. It excites us. And you-- you are nothing like that. I know how desperately you want to be Mrs. Ridge Forrester. But it's just not going to happen, so why don't you just give it up? Turn around. Go home.

Steffy: Uh, your minute's up.

Rick: Gee, that flew by fast.

Steffy: There's truly nothing more we have to say to each other.

Rick: We had something so special, Steffy.

Steffy: I thought we did.

Rick: (Sighs)

Steffy: But I was wrong. Obviously, you had a way different agenda than me.

Rick: Okay. Okay. At least I was good for a few laughs, huh?

Steffy: Yeah, you could always make me smile.

Rick: I bet I could make you smile again. I bet I could make you forget what I said on that recording if you'd just give me another chance.

Steffy: No, no, Rick. No. I have thought long and hard about this. Do I miss the times we spent together? Yeah, it was painful, but--

Rick: Well, it doesn't have to be painful.

Steffy: Well, you--

Rick: 'Cause I miss them, too.

Steffy: No. Will you stop? I'm not going back there.

Rick: (Sighs)

Steffy: That was a crazy chapter in our lives, but it's over. Actually, in fact, um... here.

Rick: No, no, no. I don't--I don't want it back. Please.

Steffy: I-I don't want it.

Rick: Then hock it. Use the money to--to get away for a while, go some place nice, do something wonderful for yourself.

Steffy: I already did. I let you go, and now I'm free.

Rick: Wow.

Steffy: What?

Rick: Do you remember the first time we kissed? The time where you slapped me across the face? (Laughs) I thought it was a pretty good kiss. I think you did, too. But there was no way in hell you were gonna let me manipulate you.

Steffy: Your point?

Rick: My point is there's nothing more attractive to a man than a woman who knows what she wants, a woman with strength. It doesn't hurt if she's beautiful. And now you're as beautiful as ever. You're stronger than you've ever been. But it's too late, isn't it? I've lost you. It's really over.

Steffy: I'm sorry.

Rick: Me, too. I blew a really good thing. At least I learned something.

Steffy: What's that?

Rick: I learned that I was never really worthy of you. I really didn't see it at the time. I didnít. But I do now. If I'm every lucky enough to-- to be with a woman like you in the future, I'm not gonna make the same mistake twice. I'm gonna make sure that she knows how special she is and how much I love her. And I'm gonna mean every word of it.

Ridge: So you'll reconsider? That's all I'm asking, Glenn. We've been doing business, what, 20 years now? Right. We won't let you down. Glenn, thank you very much.

Ridge: (Sighs) Oh, Logan, Logan, Logan. We have to get through this. We've got to.

Taylor: Incredible.

Brooke: How accurate I am? You're trying to drive a wedge between Ridge and me. That's really all this is about.

Taylor: Which makes Ridge really stupid, because he can't see it.

Brooke: No. No, he has a soft spot for you. You are the mother of his children, so of course he's sensitive to that. But the truth is Ridge and I were handling the situation with Rick and Steffy before you got involved.

Taylor: Handling it? They were about to get married.

Brooke: Really? Well, would that have been so bad? I mean, I'm surprised you didn't support that marriage since you were so convinced it would break Ridge and me up.

Taylor: Well, that's the difference between you and me. When it comes to my children, I make decisions that are best for them, not for me.

Brooke: Oh, my God, Taylor. So Thomas working here at this company, that would have been in his best interest? No. It would have gotten you in the door. You're so transparent. You should be wearing a sign on your forehead saying that, "I am such a loser without Ridge."

Taylor: You should be wearing a sign that says, "clingy and desperately afraid of losing my man."

Brooke: I am not afraid of losing Ridge. How many times do I have to tell you that?

Taylor: Well, if that was true, then you would be supporting your husband's son working here, but because he's also my son, that concerns you.

Brooke: No, what concerns me is your interference at a time when this company so desperately needs our help-- Ridge's, Rickís and mine. Instead, here you are wasting our precious time with your pathetic manipulations. Why don't you just go home? Go home and have your fantasies. Because we all know you fantasize about running into Ridge's open arms. Well, you know what? That's not gonna happen, because when Ridge and I said our vows to each other on the beach, we meant them, and we knew that it would be forever. Our marriage is never going to end.

Taylor: I've got news for you, Brooke, there is no marriage.
