Brooke: You want me to stop Rick from marrying Steffy, and you're holding me accountable for everything that's happened? Ridge, my god. You've gotta stop siding with Taylor.

Ridge: It's not about taking sides, Brooke. It's about protecting our daughter.

Brooke: Well, I want to protect my son.

Taylor: Your son is sick, Brooke. Wake up. He is psychologically damaged. If you want to protect him, then stop him. Make him call off this wedding.

Ridge: Logan, please. Please, find some way to stop it.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Rick: What? (Clears throat) It's happening again, isn't it?

Steffy: What?

Rick: Those nasty little doubts of yours are creeping back in.

Steffy: No. No.

Rick: (Laughs) Doesn't sound very convincing. (Clears throat)

Steffy: Look, I don't want to have any questions. When I'm with you like this, just the two of us, this relationship seems so right.

Rick: Because it is so right.

Steffy: Then why--

Rick: Please, don't doubt that.

Steffy: Why can't anyone understand, then?

Rick: Because, Steffy, nobody is ever going to understand, okay? Nobody's ever going to accept this, as much as we want people to. But please, always know how unbelievably crazy I am about you.

Steffy: Yeah?

Rick: Yeah.

Steffy: (Giggles) All right, you're definitely crazy. But you're all mine, and I know you're the right man for me. In my heart, I know that, no matter what anybody else says.

Pam: I'll have the, uh, special--the porterhouse, medium rare, a double order of mashed and gravy and a chicken parm.

Man: You know that's two entrées?

Pam: Yeah, I know. The food in jail was terrible.

Stephanie: (Chuckles) I'll just have the fish, please.

Pam: It's just wrong that you're not at Forrester. Eric should be ashamed of himself firing you.

Stephanie: Oh... (vibrates lips) you know what they say, don't you? "Today is the first day of the rest of your life."

Pam: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: So here's to a new partnership.

Pam: Partnership? (Glasses clink)

Stephanie: (Whispers) at Jackie M.'s.

Pam: (Whispers) Jackie M.?

Brooke: I can't believe you're asking this of me. Stop the marriage?

Taylor: It's an unhealthy, dangerous relationship.

Brooke: My son has some issues, but--

Taylor: No, he is a predator, and he's preying on Steffy.

Brooke: Oh, that is unfair.

Taylor: No, it is not unfair. We are protecting our daughter.

Ridge: We're not gonna let her get caught up in some sick game here, Brooke.

Brooke: The love my son has for your daughter is not some sick game.

Taylor: This isn't about Rick's love for Steffy. It's about you and Ridge and Rick's love for you. It's a textbook Oedipus complex-- a young man avenging his mother because he has such an intense desire for her love.

Pam: So how did this whole Jackie M. thing happen?

Stephanie: Well, they're on the verge of bankruptcy. You know, Nick will do anything he can to save that company, and I-I guess I'm it.

Pam: I just can't picture that. You've always said, Steph, that Nick was a big user, loser-type guy.

Stephanie: Well, maybe he's got a little more integrity than I thought he had. We'll see. Anyway, a lot more than Eric has these days.

Pam: No. You should be at Forrester.

Stephanie: What?

Pam: It's not the same without you there. People are walking around like they lost their best friend or something. Look, if you're really not coming back, I'm quitting, too.

Stephanie: No, Pam.

Pam: I am.

Stephanie: No, you're not. No, no. You stay there. You can keep them honest. I mean that. They need you there. You stay there at Forrester. Do that for me.

Brooke: When did you come up with this diagnosis, before or after you slept with my son?

Ridge: Oh, come on, Logan.

Brooke: You know, I-I don't have to listen to this. You have zero credibility with me, Taylor.

Taylor: Oh, really? You don't see the symptoms? One of our daughters is dead because of your son. Our son had to be sent away because he was so traumatized by him. Our other daughter is in absolute jeopardy. What are you not getting?

Brooke: I can't believe you're standing there like that, Ridge. How can you let her say things about me and my son?

Ridge: We're afraid. We're afraid, Brooke, of losing Steffy because of Rick. Why can't you see that?

Brooke: (Sighs)

(door slams shut)

Taylor: She's gotta wake up. She's gotta see Rick for who he really is.

Ridge: No, she doesn't see it, Doc. She doesn't accept it. She can’t. She is not going to intervene with her son.

Taylor: So what, it's just up to us? How? How do we help a child who's completely blinded by love? How do we open her eyes?

Steffy: See? It's easy. We're at macys.com.

Rick: Mm-hmm.

Steffy: And then we go to "wedding registry," and then you click on "create your registry." We'll use my e-mail, so all right. I am Steffy, the bride. (Giggles)

Rick: (Chuckles)

Steffy: And you are Rick, the groom. All right, let's check out all the cool stuff they have. Oh, wow, look at all the china patterns to choose from.

Rick: Oh, wait, they have, um, a "bed & bath" section. Click on that.

Steffy: Okay. Oh, that comforter is so nice. I like that.

Rick: Yeah, but you know what? You're not even going to need a comforter when I'm in bed keeping you warm.

Steffy: Oh, I'm n-not? (Laughs)

Rick: (Chuckles)

Steffy: Are you sure about that?

Rick: Mm-hmm. I'll tell you what, you can register for whatever your little heart desires.

Steffy: Hey, no, no. You gotta help me. What do you want?

Rick: No, but see? That's the thing. All I want is you. (Growls)

Steffy: I love you.

Rick: I love you.

Brooke: Uh, sorry to interrupt.

Steffy: Oh, no, it's okay.

Rick: (Laughs)

Steffy: We were just, um, doing our wedding registry online.

Brooke: Oh. That's what you were doing.

Steffy: Oh, no, no. We really were. You can pick out anything and not-- not even leave your office. It's cool.

Rick: (Clears throat) What's wrong? You don't look okay.

Brooke: It's just when I see you two happy like this...

Steffy: I know, we're just--

Rick: (Laughs)

Steffy: Well, I'm so excited about this wedding. I can't even tell you.

Rick: (Sighs) It's about my idea, the suggestion I made about getting married at Point Dume, isn't it?

Brooke: Well, I have to wonder why you did that, honestly.

Rick: All right. To be honest with you, Steffy asked this before, and--and what I told her was that it-- Point Dume is a sacred place for you, right? It's a sacred place for Ridge. It's a special place for, uh, for our families. It could be a place of second chances, of redemption and--and healing. And I believe that getting married there could bring our families together. I just want somebody that I can love, somebody that I could take care of, and somebody who loves me back. Unfortunately, that person happens to be Steffy, Ridge's daughter. Again, I was telling Steffy before that I've been in Ridge's shadow my entire life, or at least I've been made to feel that way. And it's made me do things that--that I'm ashamed of. I've made some mistakes as a result of feeling like that, and Steffy is not one of those mistakes. She's not. I want to spend the rest of my life with this woman. She means everything to me. Can't you see that? Don't you think that we deserve a chance?

Brooke: There are many obstacles, Rick.

Rick: Well, look at you and Ridge. How many obstacles did you two overcome?

Brooke: There was a death involved.

Rick: Are you ser-- you're gonna throw that in my face right now?

Brooke: No. No, I-I'm not. I just want you to understand how things are.

Rick: I don't care whether we have Ridge's support or we don't, Mom.

Brooke: Well, Steffy cares, don't you?

Steffy: Yeah. I know my dad's not thrilled about the marriage, yeah.

Rick: But he's not fighting you on it anymore, is he?

Steffy: And--no. And he told me to follow my own judgment.

Brooke: I think he was hoping you would change your mind.

Steffy: Well, that's not happening.

Rick: (Sighs)

Brooke: I know. I just came from seeing your mother and father.

Steffy: Okay, so--

Brooke: They wanted me to intervene, stop this marriage.

Rick: (Chuckles)

Steffy: What? Wait, what? No, no, no. My dad promised me.

Brooke: They don't want this wedding to happen.

Steffy: He flipped out about the Point Dume thing, didn't he?

Brooke: Yes, that brought it all back up to the surface.

Rick: (Scoffs) Yeah, I can't hear any more of this. Why does Ridge always have to make things about him? It's like, "Ridge Forrester-- master of the universe."

Steffy: (Sighs) Well, I guess you won't be helping us with our wedding now, right?

Brooke: I-- (sighs) I'm in a really difficult position.

Rick: Oh, of course you are. I mean, you have to protect Ridge's feelings at all costs.

Brooke: Rick, stop it, please.

Rick: What?

Steffy: Hey, look, my parents want what's best for me.

Rick: Of course they do, only if they get to decide what that is.

Steffy: Well, we can't keep fighting them forever.

Rick: Yes, we can.

Steffy: No, we can’t. What do we do?

Rick: (Sighs)

Steffy: It's like there's no one on our side.

Brooke: That's not true. I'm on your side.

Rick: Really? You will support us even though Ridge won't?

Brooke: (Sighs) I will stand up for you because I believe in what you have. It's very sincere and special, unique. I know what that feels like.

Steffy: Thank you.

Brooke: Don't thank me yet. We have a huge hill to climb, a big task to accomplish. We need to convince your parents... (sighs) Ridge and Taylor that there's really nothing to fear in this marriage.

Taylor: Ridge could you... (sighs) please just really be honest with me about something?

Ridge: What's that?

Taylor: Well, Rick's been a problem for you and Brooke. He always has been.

Ridge: That's why I'm not gonna let him be a problem for our daughter.

Taylor: But really, what else can you do? I know Brooke’s gonna plead, and she's going to beg, and she's going to ask you to back off. If nothing else, for the sake of your marriage, what else are you going to do? I just-- I feel like I-- like I'm going to be fighting this battle by myself, and I just-- I don't know if I'm up for it. But I don't want to lose my other daughter. I don't know how I'm gonna fight for it.

Ridge: Taylor. Taylor, listen to me here. I can't go along with Brooke on this, and I'm not gonna rest until we pull Steffy away from Rick, okay? You are not alone.

Man: Any dessert, ladies?

Pam: Oh, yes, yes, yes. Um, I'd like two hot fudge sundaes, extra fudge. (Chuckles)

Stephanie: Just coffee for me. (Laughs)

Pam: You have so much willpower. You're really an amazing person, Steph. You are so strong.

Stephanie: That's so sweet. Thank you, Pam.

Pam: It's true.

Stephanie: No, I-- I don't know about that. It's-- carpe diem.

Pam: "Carpet" what?

Stephanie: You never liked Latin when we took it in school.

Pam: (Laughs)

Stephanie: Seize the day. Cheers. (Glasses clink)

Pam: Cheers.

Stephanie: You know what it is? I haven't felt needed for so long, and here I have this chance. I feel alive again. I feel like there's a fire in my belly. They're in such turmoil over there at Jackie M., and I honestly believe that with my experience and my connections and-- I think I can turn it around.

Pam: Then I'm really happy for you. I just wish that I was a little birdie on the wall when Eric and his little chippie find out where you've landed. (Laughs)

Stephanie: (Chuckles) You are something.

Taylor: All right, thanks.

Brooke: Where's Ridge?

Taylor: I don't know.

Brooke: (Sighs) Taylor, you've really gotta stop judging Rick and Steffy. They love each other. They're good for each other.

Taylor: Good for each other?

Brooke: Yes.

Taylor: No one believes that. I will never believe that, and Ridge definitely won’t.

Rick: Ridge. You know, I was perusing last quarter's numbers, and they're not exactly robust. What's the matter? Something messing with your mojo? Better step it up a notch.

Ridge: You're the president. Maybe you need to step it up a notch.

Rick: (Chuckles) That makes you mad, doesn't it? Almost as much as the fact that I'm about to become your son-in-law. Mm, that's painful. Your daughter and I registered on macys.com today. You want to see our china pattern?

Ridge: You're not married to my daughter yet. That wedding's never gonna happen.

Rick: (Laughs) Oh, Ridge, that wedding will happen with or without your blessing, because, quite frankly, we know that we're never gonna get that from you. We are going to get married, and there's not a damn thing you can do about that. (Grunts)

Ridge: The only thing stopping me from killing you right now, Ricky boy, is Steffy.

Rick: And Steffy belongs to me.

Rick: You know, Ridge, I never really put that much stock in karma, but after what you put my mom through over the years, I'm beginning to see that now. You're getting exactly what you deserve.

Ridge: You despicable little worm. Steffy's just a tool for you to get to me.

Rick: See, that's exactly where you're wrong. I'm crazy about your daughter. I am in love with her. Driving you up a wall is just a fringe benefit. (Sighs) It's been a really stressful day, you know? You feel that? (Slaps hands at sides) I'm thinking about going down to the steam room with your little girl.

Ridge: It really is too bad. She has no idea how much you use her to get under my skin.

Rick: No, Ridge, the only skin I'm thinking about right now is your daughter’s.

Brooke: Rick and Steffy are adults, and I think you should treat them like adults.

Taylor: "Live and let live." Is that your sage advice?

Brooke: Don't mess with me, and don't use this as a way to get into Ridge's good graces. I know you still love him.

Taylor: I'll always love Ridge. Does that make you feel insecure?

Brooke: No. No, this is about Rick, the next generation. I just won't allow you to become like Stephanie, who's always trying to undermine what those kids are trying to do.

Taylor: You won't allow it?

Brooke: No, I won't allow it. I think they're good for each other, Taylor.

Taylor: That is so strange. It wasn't that long ago you were saying that you were completely opposed to Steffy and Rick.

Brooke: Yes, that's true. But I can see that they fought really hard for what they have, and I think they should be able to hold onto it.

Taylor: Oh, so that's how you view life. It's like a never-ending, ever-unfolding fantasy. It's like a fairy tale, is that right? So how has that been working for you?

Brooke: Actually, it's been working quite well, thank you.

Taylor: (Scoffs) Oh, my gosh. Brooke, your whole fantasy world is an absolute farce! I am not going to lose another daughter to your depraved son. He is going to do nothing but bring misery and despair and heartbreak to her. He may tell her he loves her, but he doesn't know what that is. He has no idea. And I'm gonna do whatever it takes to break my daughter free from you son's stranglehold, whatever it takes.
