Rick: You bet I'm frustrated. Getting married at Point Dume was a good idea.

Steffy: I didn't say it wasnít.

Rick: Your father didn't seem to think so, not that I'm surprised.

Steffy: Well, did it? Did that really surprise you?

Rick: All right, fine, I admit that maybe I knew he would be a little upset by the idea.

Steffy: So is that why you suggested it? I mean, the real reason.

Ridge: This whole fiasco at Point Dume is just another way Rick is trying to push my buttons again and put me at odds with you and Steffy. That's his technique-- divide and conquer.

Brooke: No, that's not true. We both want the same thing-- for our kids to be happy.

Ridge: Well, Logan, we're a million miles apart on how to achieve that.

Brooke: (Sighs) Well, then we'll just have to work something out.

Ridge: Well, I don't know how to do that, because Rick is using Steffy to get to me. Today just proves it. Worse than that, the two of them wanted to get married on our sacred spot, Logan? Come on. To me, that's just desecration.

Rick: Are you questioning my motives? Steffy, why? Did you not hear anything I was saying to your father today? Steffy, I was trying to get through to him. Why Point Dume? Because it's special to him. It's special to my mom. It's rich in family history. It's--it's a place for second chances, for redemption, for healing. That's what I'm hoping our marriage will bring to our families. Look, I-I want a future with you, okay? I don't-- if it's gonna cause a problem, I--we don't have to say our vows there. I don't care where we say our vows. I don't care if our families accept us or not. The point is, all I care about is you. That's all.

Brooke: Ridge, you don't mean that. Rick and Steffy's involvement has been hard on you, so you're wary. I understand that. You have every right to be. But I do believe that Rick is being sincere.

Ridge: Oh, Logan, why would he want to emulate a relationship that he's tried to destroy?

Brooke: Don't you see? It's his way of telling us that he's accepting us. So choosing Point Dume, to get married there, that's not a desecration. It's a show of respect. (Knock on door)

Taylor: Ridge, I got here as fast as I could. What's going on?

Brooke: (Sighs) I told you Taylor would be worried. It's nothing. It's fine.

Ridge: Rick wants to marry Steffy at the beach in the exact same spot that Brooke and I got married.

Taylor: What?! You can't be serious.

Ridge: I am.

Taylor: This is obviously another ploy of Rickís to get Ridge upset.

Jackie: (Scoffs) Extortion-- that's what this proposal is.

Nick: 50% of the company?

Jackie: Oh, she is out of her mind.

Stephanie: (Laughs) Well, you know, Jackie, some people might agree with you, but I am not going to accept one penny less than I am worth.

Jackie: Oh, then I guess math isn't your strong suit.

Stephanie: Well, you and Nick are absolutely free to say no. It will be quite a loss, however.

Nick: Stephanie? Wait.

Steffy: Look, Rick, I believe you mean what you're saying. I do. And I know you want to make me happy. But if that also breaks my dad's heart, I--

Rick: Well, there's nothing we can do about that.

Steffy: Well, we don't have to make it worse.

Rick: Is that what you think I'm doing?

Steffy: (Sighs) Look, um, it's just the way we came together, you know? (Stammers) (Sighs) All that emotion, the--the circumstances... (Sighs) Don't you ever wonder? I mean, it just all happened so quickly. Look, can we really trust these feelings?

Rick: You know, you've been listening to your father way too much, Steffy. Look, our relationship, okay? After everything we've been through, you and I, we're--we're a miracle, Steffy. What? What--what are you thinking?

Steffy: (Exhales) (Whispers) Oh, God. (Normal voice) Okay. Okay, honesty time. (Sighs) Sometimes I wonder if your feelings for me get all twisted up with your hatred towards my dad. I know that's what he thinks. It's just really confusing, you know? I-- but I need to know. Is it always gonna be this way?

Ridge: That kid is just not gonna let up, Doc.

Brooke: My son is not out to get anyone.

Taylor: You want to believe that.

Brooke: I do believe that.

Taylor: Because you're not being objective.

Brooke: Are you?

Taylor: Your son's actions speak for themselves, but you can't see it.

Brooke: You're looking for ulterior motives, Taylor.

Taylor: Why do you think he wants to get married at Point Dume?

Brooke: Because he's finally trying to accept Ridge and me. He wants to do that. He wants to bring the families together. I really believe him.

Taylor: (Sighs)

Ridge: Of course you believe him, Brooke. You're his mom. Why can't you see that my fears are justified here?

Brooke: Ridge, he wants to marry your daughter. He's not lying. He's not sneaking around. He's just being honest. This is what he wants. He loves her. He's planning a wedding, for goodness sakes.

Ridge: A wedding that I cannot allow-- not now, not ever. (Slaps hands at sides) Rick keeps attacking my family, Brooke, and me. This little stunt is just another example of that. I'm sorry, Logan, but your son is everything I don't want in a son-in-law. I know I said I'd try to accept him, but I just can't do it. And the fact that you don't see where I'm coming from, that you've got blinders on as far as he's concerned, that's what really concerns me.

Stephanie: Do you want me to leave?

Nick: I don't want you to leave. I'm also not giving you 50% of this company.

Jackie: Oh, please, let her go, Nicky. It's not worth losing the business.

Stephanie: 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing.

Jackie: Forrester can survive without you, and so can we. Nicky, let's not be rash here. We've got a wonderful new designer. Orders are still flooding in from our last collection. I'll talk to Mr. Williams at the bank. We'll sort it out.

Stephanie: You want to bet the business on that?

Nick: I'll pay you a salary-- 500 grand the first year. I'd pay you more if I could, but I canít. Now if we last together and you contribute the way that you expect to and I hope you to, then we'll talk partnership.

Stephanie: Nick, you don't have the cash flow to pay me a salary. I'll tell you what, you have your people call my people, and we'll hash it out.

Jackie: No, Nicky. Nicky, please, just think about--

Bridget: Jackie, I wanted to change the-- uh--

Stephanie: Bridget?

Bridget: Stephanie, wh--

Stephanie: What are you doing here?

Bridget: I, uh, babysitting.

Stephanie: Oh.

Bridget: Because Jack wanted to come see his dad...

Stephanie: Oh.

Bridget: And, uh, Nick wanted me to bring these sketches.

Nick: Stephanie, meet Madame X.

Stephanie: Bri-- Bridget is your designer?

Bridget: (Sighs)

Nick: Now you know our big secret. So you're gonna have to come up with a proper proposal, or I'm gonna have to kill you. So what's it gonna be?

Stephanie: (Laughs)

Stephanie: You hired a medical doctor to be your head designer? Oh, my God, you're in worse shape than I thought.

Bridget: Excuse me, Stephanie. They hired me because I'm good.

Jackie: No, darling, you are better than good. She is every bit as talented as one of your children.

Bridget: (Scoffs) Nick and Jackie are also giving me an opportunity to pursue my childhood dream.

Stephanie: Uh-huh. And what about your dream to be a doctor? I-I mean, if you had a dream to be a designer, why didn't you go work with your father and let him train you?

Bridget: Oh, to be a Forrester designer...

Stephanie: Well--

Bridget: And do things his way and express his vision?

Stephanie: And you want to express their vision?

Bridget: I'm expressing my own vision, possibly for the first time in my life.

Stephanie: What about your medical career?

Bridget: Oh, Stephanie, that'll always be there. But I was wondering, what if? What if I just left my comfort zone for once, did something outrageous, something I could point to and say, "no one thought that I could do that, but I did it"?

Nick: Stephanie knows what you mean, don't you? Bridget, are you at all curious as to why Stephanie is here? You know, most companies are firing people, but Jackie M. is in the "hiring" business.

Bridget: Nick offered you a job?

Stephanie: Well... (Chuckles) your father fired me.

Nick: He didn't fire you. He booted her to the curb, and what did Donna say? "Out with the old, in with the young"? Ugh!

Bridget: Oh, Nick, just-- (scoffs) are you considering this?

Jackie: (Stammers) I think that we should all give this a little more thought.

Nick: I'm calling the lawyers, putting this deal together. You girls show Stephanie around. Come along. We have a company to save. There's work to be done, ladies.

(Phone buttons clicking)

Nick: Yeah, Nick Marone here.

Rick: (Sighs) Steffy, your father and I-- Ridge and I are always gonna have issues. When my dad told me recently in a heat of passion that I am no Ridge Forrester, that damn near killed me. I mean, I've been made to feel that way for the majority of my adult life. But hear it out loud like that, it-- it's been eating away at me inside. What I'm trying to tell you is that it--it's-- it's made me do things that I am not necessarily proud of, things that I'm definitely not proud of, things that I-- that--that I regret. But this-- you and me and our relationship, Steffy, that is not one of those things, I swear to you. It's not.

Steffy: I believe you. I believe you.

Rick: You believe me enough to let me help you pick out china patterns? (Chuckles)

Steffy: (Laughs) Are we really doing that?

Rick: What, you don't want to register for our wedding?

Steffy: No, of-- of course I do.

Rick: Okay.

Steffy: Besides the honeymoon, that's the best part about getting married.

Rick: It is.

Steffy: I know.

Rick: (Laughs)

Steffy: Well, we could register online. Macy's has this awesome web site, so...

Rick: Well, you don't want to go into the store and do it? I mean--

Steffy: Oh, no, we-- we could if you want to, but we can get everything we need online.

Rick: Really?

Steffy: Yeah.

Rick: Anything?

Steffy: Yeah.

Rick: You mean I can get, like, a-a lifetime supply of candles and massage oils?

Steffy: Mm. I was thinking more silverware, dishes and sheets, yeah.

Rick: Sheets? What? Who needs sheets?

Rick: In fact, who needs a bed?

Steffy: Oh. (Laughs) Mm. Mm. (Giggles)

Rick: Mm.

Brooke: This is not a manipulation. Rick genuinely cares for your daughter.

Taylor: As much as he wants to torment Ridge?

Brooke: (Sighs) That's not what this is about.

Ridge: Yes, Brooke, it is. He's taunting me. He just knows that tears me up, and he loves that fact.

Taylor: Well, he can't help himself because he's disturbed. He has so much venom inside of him, he probably doesn't even know what he's doing.

Brooke: Both of you, stop! Please.

Taylor: No, your son needs treatment, Brooke.

Brooke: No, your son needs treatment, Taylor, and he's getting it, thank God. My son needs support. He loves Steffy and wants to be with her. I say we give it to him, and then everything should be just fine.

Taylor: No, everything will not be just fine. Rick is unstable, and our daughter needs to be protected, and the relationship has to end.

Brooke: This relationship could really heal the family, and we're always talking about how love conquers all. If you really believe that, you will know that Steffy's feelings for Rick, it's--it's something beautiful.

Taylor: That's exactly right. Steffy's feelings are real.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Taylor: And we both know it's going to be very difficult to get her away from Rick, but it has to be done before it's too late.

Stephanie: Well... (Sighs) Things were pretty much, you know, exactly what I thought, with the exception of this. Bridget, honestly, you--you--you really-- you show a lot of promise.

Bridget: Why, thank you, Stephanie.

Stephanie: You're welcome. But, you know, just promise and talent alone isn't going to make a success of the business.

Jackie: That was hardly the kind of motivation Owen told us to expect from you.

Stephanie: Owen? What the hell would Owen know about me and the fashion business?

Jackie: (Laughs) Well, actually, we've made Owen point person to Fabrice DuFau.

Stephanie: What? How much thought went into that, if any?

Nick: You have a suggestion?

Stephanie: Well, if you-- if you want to make this business a success and turn it around, you've got to have a corporate strategy. You know, the designer, the people who are out there that represent us, they say, "this is who we are." So who are we? "Not Forrester" is not the answer.

Nick: Or... or it's the start to the perfect answer, because we're young. They're old. Let Ridge and Eric have their ancient history, because we have young, fresh ideas, young, fresh designs and designers.

Stephanie: Exactly, and here in Los Angeles and around the whole country, there are young, undiscovered, talented designers just like Bridget.

Nick: All looking for an opportunity. They want a place to thrive. They want a place to go, a fashion house...

Stephanie: Mm-hmm.

Nick: That's gonna say, "show us what you can do." (Pounds fist against hand) And that's what we have here at Jackie M. That's what we can make happen.

Stephanie: Mm-hmm.

Rick: Mm. You know, we can take this back to our place.

Steffy: Mm-hmm. "Our place."

Rick: Mm-hmm. I mean, it doesn't have all your china and fancy silverware you want to get, but it does have a big, cozy, comfy bed.

Steffy: Yeah, which would need new linens and pillows.

Rick: Oh, my God. You would rather be shopping right now. (Laughs)

Steffy: Registering for your wedding is more fun than shopping. It's like... (inhales) It's like Christmas, okay? And I know you think it's a girl thing, but just you wait. You can pick out all the coolest newest gadgets...

Rick: (Laughs)

Steffy: Or crystal glasses for that fancy wine you like. Come on, it'll be fun.

Rick: (Groans)

Steffy: Come here. Come here.

Rick: God, Steffy.

Steffy: No, it'll be cool.

Rick: (Sighs)

Steffy: We can just check out everything and... there we go. And we can plan all our--our holidays and--and birthdays and anniversaries, which reminds me, we're gonna need a lot of place settings. Like, at least ten-- no. No, 12.

Rick: What, 12 place settings? What are you talking about?

Steffy: Yeah, 12. Because I want to believe that one day, both of our families will be sitting at our table celebrating together.

Rick: (Sighs) (Chuckles) Come here.

Taylor: Ridge and I agree, this marriage cannot happen.

Brooke: Taylor, he proposed, and she accepted.

Taylor: No, Rick is using her. It's twisted, and it's sick.

Brooke: No... (Sighs) What your son did is twisted. He set fire to my son's house and blew up his car. All Rickís done is fall for a very remarkable, special young lady.

Taylor: Rick sees everything in black-and-white. His desire to hurt Ridge is so intense, that it taints everything he does, everything in his life, and you don't want to see it because you're so deep in denial.

Brooke: Oh, my God. Ridge, can you tell her to stop saying these things? It isn't true.

Ridge: (Sighs) Logan, I'm sorry. I agree with Taylor. For Steffy and Rickís sake, you've got to face the truth about your son here. She knows what she's talking about.

Brooke: She is not speaking as a psychiatrist right now. She's speaking out of loss and out of grief and trying to make somebody pay for Phoebe's death, for what happened to Thomas. You accuse Rick of being manipulative. Taylor is the one who is playing on your worst fears.

Ridge: Steffy's about to make a mistake that she'll regret for the rest of her life. Taylor and I have done everything we can to try and get through to her, but Rickís hold is far too strong for her. (Pounds fist on desk) Now it's up to you, Logan. Steffy and Rick cannot get married. You have to do something to stop it!
