Ridge: Logan, I realize it's tough. But you know and he has always betrayed our trust. Rick has to go.

Bridget: I don't know what to tell you. Steffy, you knew that Ridge was going to explode when he learned about you and Rick.

Steffy: I know. I know that.

Bridget: Well, that is why you were breaking it off.

Steffy: I was going to. I was on my way over there to end it, but my dad already found out, and now he's taking action.

Bridget: Action? What--what kind of action?

Thorne: Where did they go?

(Door closes)

Ridge: Rick's office.

Felicia: Good. Maybe he can pack up his things while he's in there.

Eric: This is not a done deal.

Ridge: Rick's gone. He's got to be.

Eric: That's up to your wife.

Stephanie: Why is that, Eric? Wh--why did you have her make this decision? It's your company... or is that you want Rick to continue to work continue to work here?

Brooke: (Sighs) Why did you have to taunt him? All that he asked was that you stay away from Steffy.

Rick: I still cannot believe you think this is about me trying to get back at Ridge.

Brooke: I don't care what it's about, but you knew what the end result would be.

Rick: Mom, it's not like you've never fallen in love before. Come on, you know. It--you're falling in love, and you don't think about the impact it's gonna have on other people or--or yourself. I mean, quite frankly, you really don't care.

Brooke: Well, I think this time, you should have cared.

Rick: All right, you know what? We both know what you're gonna do, so why don't you just go ahead and do it. I just wish that-- we had that here, Mom-- you, Dad and me. And then--I know you don't want to hear this-- but then Ridge came along, and he got in the way. Ridge has always gotten in the way my entire life. The happiest moments of my life, ruined by that man. (Sighs) Look, that's besides the point. The point is, is that's what I wanted. That was my plan-- for you and Dad and me to work together-- our little family together again, and I know it--it--it would be in a work setting, but still, we would have a chance to be together, and that's what this position meant to me. That's what this position

means to me and why I don't want to lose it.

Eric: Would I like for Rick to continue working here at Forrester? Absolutely, I would.

Stephanie: Well, then why did you put the decision in Brooke's hands?

Eric: Because I'm trying to be fair here.

Stephanie: Oh.

Eric: I think that Rick's involvement with Steffy was not right. It was not right at all. But it affects Brooke and Ridge's life much more than any of the rest of us.

Stephanie: Well, then why didn't you let Ridge make the decision? She's not even a member of the family.

Donna: Brooke is your son's wife.

Stephanie: When it comes to Forrester Creations, she shouldn't be making these sort of decisions.

Donna: You know, I-- I don't even understand why this is an issue. What he did has nothing to do with the way he runs the company.

Felicia: You are dead wrong. It's scandalous.

Thorne: Not to mention it's a slap in Ridge's face, who happens to be our C.E.O.

Stephanie: It just shows poor judgment, to say the least.

Donna: It's a mistake, Stephanie. We've all made them.

Ridge: (Scoffs) Mistake? You think what he did was a mistake? My daughter is dead because of that guy. All I asked was that he stay away from her sister. Was that too much to ask?

Eric: No, Ridge. No, it wasn't. Of course not, especially given the fact that he did not stay away from Steffy. I'm afraid now he's gonna have to pay the price.

Donna: If that is what Brooke decides.

Ridge: For the sake of my daughter, it better be.

Steffy: Rick shouldn't be fired because of me.

Bridget: (Scoffs) Well, th--this was bound to happen, Steffy. I--we discussed that.

Steffy: I did. I tried to stay apart from him.

Bridget: Well, not hard enough.

Steffy: I did. I swore I wouldn't to back to him. But we'd just find ourselves in some office or somewhere, and everything that we resolved would, obviously, disappear. (Sighs)

Bridget: My brother can be very determined when he wants something, and I guess right now, he wants you.

Steffy: No more than I wanted him.

Bridget: Look, are you sure about that?

Steffy: Why are you asking?

Bridget: 'Cause it's not like you. Y-you're normally so loyal to your father. Was it really that big of a mystery how he was gonna react to this?

Steffy: It was because he was sweet and sensitive, and he really just painted out this picture that was--

Bridget: Probably too good to be true?

Steffy: Look, my dad thinks he's using me, that what he's saying isn't real, and it sounds like you're saying the exact same thing. Come on, Bridget, you're the closest thing to him. You know what he thinks. Does he really care about me, or is my dad right?

Rick: Some men are driven by power. Some men are--are driven by greed. Other men, by both. I'm driven by reuniting our family. I know that sounds crazy, but it--it's true.

Brooke: No. No, it doesn't sound crazy.

Rick: So you felt it, too?

Brooke: Of course. (Sighs) All your life, I knew how much you wanted your father and me to reunite. So naturally, when you became president of the company, you were able to satisfy some of those needs, even if it was vicariously.

Rick: And you were cool with that?

Brooke: Well, it wasn't going to change anything. I was still in love with Ridge. I just understood how important it was for you to work side by side with your father and me.

Rick: Yeah, it was a-- a childhood dream of mine come true.

Brooke: If it was, then why did you... (sighs) blow it apart by doing the one thing that was forbidden?

Rick: (Sighs) I... (sighs) I know, but--but that's my point, Mom. I didn't expect this relationship with Steffy to happen. It--it just came out of the blue.

Brooke: So it didn't occur to you that maybe you'd lose the one thing you say is so important to you?

Rick: Well, I... (sighs) I didn't think it would be an issue, okay?

Brooke: (Sighs) God. How can you say that, Rick? How can you even think it?

Rick: Well, because the man is married to you, okay? He's in love with you, or so he says.

Brooke: His daughter has been killed, and you were involved. I am sorry, Rick, but something just doesn't ring true here.

Rick: Are you saying I'm lying to you?

Brooke: I'm saying... (sighs) I think that maybe you might be manipulating me.

Rick: Listen, I love running this company with you and Dad, Mom. You have to believe that. But look, I... (scoffs) I'm also in love with Steffy, and I'm sorry if-- Ridge is just gonna have to accept that.

Brooke: Maybe someday when you're a father...

Rick: Oh, God.

Brooke: And you have a daughter, you'll understand why this is so difficult for him.

Rick: (Scoffs) All right. So what are you saying? Are you gonna side with Ridge and fire me?

Brooke: Oh, God. (Sighs) I hate being put in this position.

Rick: What about the position that I'm in, Mom? Think about this. Ridge is controlling my life. He's saying who I can talk to, who I can or cannot be with. This is ridiculous. Dad doesn't even like this. That's why he's placing you with this decision. So I'm telling you, I'm begging you, Mom, don't take this away from me. This means everything to me. This title, our family-- it's all I have left.

Donna: (Whispers indistinctly)

Eric: I know.

Felicia: Ridge, Mom,

Stephanie: Mm-hmm?

Felicia: We've been discussing something. I think we're gonna need a new president.

Eric: This one. Well, I think that's a little premature, don't you?

Ridge: Oh, actually, I'd love to hear what she has to say.

Felicia: I think it's Thorne's time again.

Stephanie: Oh. Excellent idea.

Felicia: (Laughs)

Ridge: You up for it, little brother?

Thorne: (Laughs) Are you kidding me? I'd be thrilled, Ridge.

Felicia: He's waited a long time for another chance, Daddy.

Eric: I know he has.

Stephanie: He deserves the recognition.

Eric: I'm well aware of Thorne's contributions. If we end up needing a new president, we'll talk again.

Thorne: (Sighs)

Steffy: Just tell me what he said. You know Rick. Is he using me?

Bridget: No. (Sighs) No, Steffy, he's not. He--he cares for you very much.

Steffy: (Exhales) You don't sound too happy about it.

Bridget: Well, I'm not. It makes it all the more tragic.

Steffy: I can't even imagine us never being together.

Bridget: Well, you really need to, because that's what's going to happen. Listen to me. I know what it's like to fall for the wrong guy. I-I did it more than once.

Steffy: Deacon?

Bridget: Yeah, Deacon... and Nick. And both times, I fell very, very hard. But you and Rick, you're lucky. You're just at the starting gate, so...

Steffy: That's not how I feel.

Bridget: Well, let me tell you how much harder it's gonna be if you don't end things right now.

Steffy: It couldn't possibly get any worse.

Bridget: Look, sweetheart, regardless, my point is, I found life after Deacon, and I found life after Nick, and you will, too. You're gonna find another guy, and young and smart and funny... Bridget: And--yeah, exactly. You're gonna have so many boyfriends. I promise. But you know, you're only gonna have one dad, and he's going through hell right now, but you can make his life easier. Please, just don't mess with this. I love my brother so much, but it's not worth all the pain that it's causing you-- you and your dad.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Brooke: All that time you were in Paris, I used to miss you so much. I would dream about you coming back here and working in the home office. (Sighs)

Rick: Well, your dream came true.

Brooke: Yes. Yes, it did. I so hoped it would work out.

Rick: But, Mom, it will. Think about it. You and Dad and me and the whole team working together-- we can make this the best year ever. And my relationship with Steffy is out in the open, so there are no more secrets. We can all focus on putting this company back on top. (Pounding fist against hand)

Brooke: Uh, yes, this thing with Steffy is out in the open, but it is by no means resolved.

Rick: Then we will resolve it.

Brooke: How? When you have not made one attempt to respect my husband's wishes? You know, it's not just your lack of sensitivity towards Ridge which has me upset. It's your lack of sensitivity towards me. I love that man, and you know it. Now a mother should expect some sort of support from her son, and I have never gotten that from you. I don't think I ever will.

Rick: Well, I can say the same thing about you.

Brooke: No, Rick, you can't. I have supported you time and time again, often to the detriment of my relationship with Ridge. And I must say, time and again, it has been a mistake, because you've lied, you've manipulated, you've done everything you possibly can to break Ridge and me up. Well, it stops here. Do you hear me? I am cutting you loose.

Rick: What? No! Mo--

Brooke: You no longer work here at Forrester Creations.

Rick: Mom--

Brooke: That is my final decision.

Rick: You cannot do this.

Ridge: You heard her, Rick. Pack your things and get out.

Rick: (Sighs)

Brooke: I'll go tell the rest of the family.

Rick: (Sighs) (Scoffs)

Ridge: Well, it finally caught up with you-- the lies, the manipulations. You lost the trust and respect of everybody in the family, including your own mother.

Rick: (Sighs)

Ridge: Do you have any idea how much this is killing her? (Sighs) Adios, Rick. I want you out of this building within an hour.

Stephanie: (Whispering indistinctly)

Eric: (Sighs) Brooke, can you tell us what happened?

Donna: Honey, if--if you're not ready to talk about it, it's okay.

Felicia: Well, it's pretty simple, isn't it? Either you fired Rick, or you didn't. Which is it?

Brooke: (Normal voice) (sighs) There's really nothing simple about this, Felicia. This is my son's life, his future.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Stephanie: Believe it or not, I-I know this is very difficult for you. You told him to leave, didn't you?

Brooke: (Sighs)

Donna: Oh, honey, I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

Brooke: (Sighs) (sighs)

Rick: (Sighs)

Ridge: Did you hear me? You have one hour to pack your things and leave.

Rick: This is the moment you've been waiting for, isn't it, buddy?

Ridge: Hey, you created this reality, dude, not me.

Rick: What, by loving Steffy?

Ridge: By using Steffy.

Rick: She's in love with me, man. When are you gonna accept that?

Ridge: You stay away from her, Rick. You hear me? I'll have security escort you out of the building.

Rick: Hey. You can kick me out of this company. Hell, you can even kick me out of Los Angeles, but you can't kick me out of your daughter's heart. I'll always be there, and she'll always be in mine.

Ridge: One hour. One hour.

Rick: (Sighs)

Brooke: (Sniffles) (Sighs)

Ridge: You did the right thing.

Brooke: Did I? I honestly don't know.

Ridge: Rick had to go, Logan. (Sighs)

Brooke: He pleaded with me. The fear in his eyes-- it was almost like he was a child again.

Ridge: But he's not a child. He's an adult, and he's dangerous. The thought of him even touching my daughter was more than I could bear. But thanks to you, that's all over with now. He won't even come anywhere near Steffy now. Thank you, Logan. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Rick: (Sighs) Come on. Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on.

Steffy: Rick?

Rick: Hey. Thanks for answering my message.

Steffy: Yeah, I-- I shouldn't be here, actually. It's not--

Rick: Steffy. Steffy, wait!

Steffy: No. It's--

Rick: Just wait, please? Just come in. I-I need to talk to you. I need--

Steffy: (Sighs)

Rick: I just needed to see you.

Steffy: What happened at the meeting?

Rick: Well, my, uh... (sighs) my dad gave the decision to my mom.

Steffy: What did she say?

Rick: I'm out. (Sighs) I have to leave.

Steffy: I'm sorry, but, um, you knew where it was headed.

Rick: No, I did, and I don't care at all. I mean, they can have the job. They can have the whole company. I don't care. I just don't want to lose you.

Steffy: I don't want to lose you either, but--

Rick: But what?

Steffy: But this is not gonna work.

Rick: Yes, it--

Steffy: It's not--

Rick: No, it can work, Steffy, and it will. Li--listen to me. Hey. You know how much I love you. Go away with me.

Steffy: What? What about my family?

Rick: We'll go--no, we'll-- we'll go--no, we'll go anywh--

Steffy: My dad?

Rick: Look, we'll start our own family. Think about it.

Steffy: You can't possibly mean that. Are you--you--you're upset, but you can't--

Rick: Marry me.

Steffy: What did you just say?

Rick: Make me the happiest guy in the entire world and say that you'll be my wife. Marry me.
