Eric: Don't point the finger at my son, and no more talk about sabotage or about Rick's alleged involvement in this thing. Not to me, not to Brooke.
Ridge: Dad, our collection was stolen by somebody inside Forrester.
Eric: The collection's been scrapped, all right? We're moving on.
Stephanie: You don't want the truth to come out because you know he did it.
Eric: Rick is the president of this company. I will not have you or anybody else spreading rumors about him.
Stephanie: So he gets away with another crime?
Eric: All right, that's enough. No more of this, and if you go to the press with this, I swear to God, I'll have my-- I'll have my lawyers all over you, all over you, Stephanie. Now we concentrate on the work.
Ridge: The work was done. The collection was finished. Now it's gone.
Stephanie: Every employee in this company worked their you-know-what off to get that collection out. I think they have a right to know what happened.
Eric: We will meet with them. We'll tell them what happened, and we'll discuss what we're gonna do.
Stephanie: Discuss? What's to discuss? You've decided. The thief gets away with it again.
Ridge: So Jackie M. prospers from all of our hard work, is that it?
Eric: Look, it's one collection. Now they have to depend on Clarke Garrison. He will not be their savior.
Clarke: Voilà. What do you think?
Nick: What am I looking at?
Clarke: A preview of our next collection.
Jackie: Ladies, would you excuse us, please?
Nick: Our pipeline to Forrester's dried up.
Jackie: And so will our profits if that's our follow-up.
Clarke: You don't like my designs?
Jackie: We're gonna move in a different direction, Clarke, more of a-a team effort.
Clarke: You're hiring another designer.
Jackie: We're not letting you go, okay? We're just, uh, helping you.
Clarke: Thank you.
Jackie: We're facing some very harsh realities.
Nick: Please tell me you found somebody.
Jackie: Actually, there is one very interesting portfolio. The designs are really dynamic.
Nick: Great. Hire him.
Jackie: (Laughs) Well, there isn't a name on it, actually, just an e-mail address. (Laughs) Don't worry. I set up a lunch at Il Giardino today at, um, oh, my goodness, I'm late. I've gotta go.
Nick: Well, go.
Jackie: I'm going. Oh, by the way, how is your fiancée?
Nick: I don't know.
Jackie: Okay.
Katie: Oh!
Jackie: (Gasps) Oh, Katie!
Katie: Sorry.
Jackie: Katie. (Laughs) we were just talking--well... yes, I'm going. Good-bye.
Nick: Are you ready to talk?
Katie: Are you?
Rick: Don't. Don't say it.
Bridget: I'm not even allowed to ask how you are?
Rick: Bridget, you don't want to know how I am. You want to know about Steffy and me.
Bridget: Well, I hope there's nothing to know about you and Steffy.
Rick: No, there is not, because Steffy doesn't want to have anything to do with me ever again.
Bridget: Oh. So something happened?
Rick: Yeah, I made a mistake. I blew it, and it's-- it's all over now.
Bridget: Oh, well... (sighs) you probably want me to console you, but I can't. She's Ridge's daughter, for crying out loud. You have to know what's wrong with that.
Rick: I didn't care, all right? I had a--I had a vision in my head of what I wanted, and that was Steffy and me, and we were together, and-- and we were starting fresh and--
Bridget: Well, that's just not possible, Rick.
Rick: Well, I don't think it ever was.
Bridget: Thank God no one found out, and no one ever will.
Nick: I didn't steal those designs from Eric. They were sent to me.
Katie: (Sighs) You didn't have to produce them and claim them as your own. I really think you're splitting hairs. Whatever. I want to know who sent you the designs. I want a name.
Nick: I can't give it to you.
Katie: You're protecting someone. Nick, I'm your fiancée.
Nick: And you work at Forrester. I will share everything with you, but not this. I'm sorry. I can't tell you who sent me those designs.
Jackie: (Laughs) Hi, Bridget.
Bridget: Well, hello. Join me, please.
Jackie: Oh, darling, I'd love to, but I can't. I'm meeting a potential new designer for Jackie M., and actually, I'm late, but not as tardy as he is.
Bridget: Oh, well, um, he's actually not tardy. She's sitting right in front of you. It--it's me, Jackie. I'm the person that you're looking for. I'm your mystery designer.
Eric: (Sighs)
Steffy: You wanted to see me?
Eric: Steffy, hi. Yeah. Yeah, come in. Look, I want to-- I want to talk to you, uh, I want to talk to you about Rick.
Steffy: I haven't said anything to anyone.
Eric: Good. I don't want you to. You can't. You can't say--es-- especially not to your father or your grandmother.
Steffy: Yeah, but they're already suspicious.
Eric: Yes, and they will only become more so if your relationship with Rick changes radically in any way right now.
Steffy: But he betrayed you.
Eric: He needs our support, and shutting him out right now will only make him--
Steffy: Wait, so-- so you're not angry with him?
Eric: (Sighs) I love him. He's my son. Anyways, they say that vengeance cuts both ways, but... (sighs) forgiveness works that way, too. I will forgive my son, and no one will ever know what he's done, especially Ridge.
Rick: Dad wanted me to bring those to you.
Ridge: I know it was you. Don't bother denying it. You sabotaged our line.
Steffy: So you're letting him get away with it?
Eric: Steffy, do you think that he regrets what he did?
Steffy: Yeah. Yeah.
Eric: Well, d-do you think he would regret it even more if I forced him to make some kind of public apology?
Steffy: Well, there has to be consequences.
Eric: What if one of those consequences was me losing my relationship with him? Look, when you truly forgive somebody, you acknowledge that something terrible has happened, and then-- and then you move on from there.
Steffy: But even if he hurt the people that you care about?
Eric: Rick's been hurt by this, too. Now look, he-- he deserves our support. He's a really good person. You know that. We've gotta help him through this.
Ridge: I know you did it.
Rick: If you're so sure that I did it, why haven't you done anything about it?
Ridge: Dad's protecting you.
Rick: Why the hell would he do that, Ridge?
Ridge: Because he pities you, and he should. You're pathetic. I've come up against a lot of destructive losers in my life. None disgust me as much as you do.
Rick: Well, I'm really sorry to hear that.
Ridge: Get out.
Rick: I can't do that. I promised Dad that I would try to make this work with you, that I'd put my anger aside.
Ridge: Oh, what the hell do you have to be angry about?
Rick: Ridge, you're the only one who's keeping this feud alive. I'm working really hard here. Come on. It's you. It's not me. It's your--
Ridge: I'm not the one that delivered our collection to Nick Marone with a freakin' bow on top. You did. Now Dad doesn't want to admit it, but I know that you did it. If it was up to me, you'd pay for this-- this and every other stinkin' thing you've ever done to me and my family.
Bridget: Are you shocked? Is it just too in-your-face?
Jackie: (Scoffs) Those drawings are yours?
Bridget: Do you like them?
Jackie: Like them? (Laughs) Bridget, they're wonderful.
Bridget: (Laughs)
Jackie: I mean, I-I had no idea.
Bridget: Well, it's not something I share with a lot of people.
Jackie: But why not, darling? I mean, you are so talented.
Bridget: Oh, thank you. But can you imagine growing up with my family?
Jackie: (Groans) I suppose not.
Bridget: Yeah. I mean, come on. My dad, Ridge, Stephanie, Felicia, Thorne-- I mean, everyone at Forrester Creations.
Jackie: Everywhere you look, there's someone to emulate.
Bridget: And it gets to be a bit much, so when I was a kid, I just hid my love of design.
Jackie: How'd you do that?
Bridget: I just spent a lot of time in my room. I pretended to be the magnificent designer. I'd make little outfits for my dollies, you know? And then when I was 12, I asked for a sewing machine for Christmas, and my hope was someone would say, "Why does Bridget want a sewing machine?"
Jackie: (Chuckles)
Bridget: And I'd be discovered. That was my fantasy.
Jackie: It didn't work out that way?
Bridget: Not exactly. I mean, I got the sewing machine, and I made magnificent gowns for my little dolls, but no one ever asked why I wanted the machine. I was just the introverted little girl that spent a lot of time up in her room.
Jackie: Oh.
Bridget: No, no, no, no, no. It wasn't like I was ignored. No. Heavens, no. I was praised for my grades-- math and science and... you know, I got huge accolades for that.
Jackie: And so med school.
Bridget: Exactly. And since then, I have been a very fulfilled, happy doctor.
Jackie: But your childhood dream...
Bridget: Is still very much unfulfilled until now. Jackie, I really, really want this, but I do want it on my own merit. I don't want the help of my father. So my question for you is, do I get to pursue my childhood dream with you? Do I get to be the new designer for Jackie M.?
Katie: Why won't you tell me?
Nick: Because it's business.
Katie: The Forrester collection is my business.
Nick: And I won't ask you to share what happens there, and I can guarantee you, there won't be any more leaks.
Katie: So let me ask you a question. If you go back in time to when you got that first e-mail?
Nick: Understand something-- I will always do whatever it takes to protect my family. That includes my mother, my son and now you. I will do whatever it takes. So you need to decide if you want to be part of that.
Katie: You're saying you had good intentions?
Nick: I'm saying I had good intentions.
Katie: I know. I know. (Sighs)
Ridge: So he gets another pass. How many is that now?
Stephanie: You confronted Rick?
Ridge: Oh, he did it. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind.
Stephanie: I know he did it.
Ridge: And that little bastard's gonna get away with it again, because Dad thinks he was so unfair to him when he was a kid. I'm telling you, Mother, I could just strangle that little rat with my bare hands.
Steffy: Wow, I can't believe my granddad forgave you.
Rick: So you talked to him.
Steffy: He still has a lot of questions why you did it. But I said you did it out of love.
Nick: Are we okay?
Katie: I want to be your partner. I don't need you to protect me. I need you to be honest with me. And there is-- there is one thing that has been weighing on my mind.
Nick: Okay, what's that?
Katie: Bridget. I-I know you said that you will always have feelings for her and that you're sorry that you hurt her and--
Nick: Katie, I will always have feelings for Bridget, and I am sorry that I hurt her, but I'm in love with you.
Katie: (Sniffles) I'm in love with you, too.
Nick: (Laughs)
Jackie: Thank you. It's a complicated situation.
Bridget: Either my designs are good enough, or they're not.
Jackie: No, no, they're-- they're more than good enough. They're--they're exactly what I've been looking for.
Bridget: So this is great. Then I have the job?
Jackie: It means a lot to Eric to have his children at Forrester Creations.
Bridget: But Forrester Creations isn't looking for a new designer. Jackie M. is.
Jackie: He will feel betrayed, Bridget. I mean, especially after our latest kerfuffle.
Bridget: My father has great respect for his competitor-- my father has great respect for you.
Jackie: (Laughs) You obviously haven't been spending very much time at Forrester lately.
Bridget: I--no. When I haven't been at the hospital, I've just been working on my sketches. (Sighs) look, Jackie, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to waste your time.
Jackie: No! If you want the job, we'll give it a try. But you have got to be aware that there are already tensions with your family, and you're gonna be working with Nick.
Bridget: I can handle all of that, but just for now, let's keep this between us. You know, just until you see if I have what it takes.
Jackie: You mean keep the mystery designer a mystery? I like it. (Laughs)
Jackie: Welcome aboard, Bridget.
Bridget: (Laughs)
Jackie: (Laughs)
Stephanie: Eric wants us to just forget the hundreds of hours, the months of work that went into this collection, and for what? To protect this kid. I-it's beyond my comprehension. I mean, we know he's--he did it.
Ridge: Dad's never going to admit that. First, he takes my daughter from me, and now he does this-- steals from his own father. I can't stand the sight of that kid. Oh, I promised Brooke that I would try not to hate her son. I just can't let this affect our relationship, though. I swear to you, Mother, if that kid does one more thing to get in the way of me or my family, I will not be held responsible for what I do.
Rick: So you understand.
Steffy: More than I did before, yeah.
Rick: Because you talked to my dad?
Steffy: Let's just say he made me see things differently, how important forgiveness is, what a miracle it can be to forgive. I just wish my dad heard what he said.
Rick: (Scoffs) I really don't think your father's capable of hearing those words. (Chuckles) he knows what I did, Steffy.
Steffy: What?
Rick: Well, he knows that-- that my father's protecting someone, and logically, that would be me.
Steffy: Wha-- so then he actually doesn't-- doesn't really know.
Rick: Oh, no, he's positive. He wants me to admit it. In fact, it's not safe for you to be here. He could storm in any second.
Steffy: God, this just keeps getting worse and worse.
Rick: I know. It's all my fault.
Steffy: (Sighs)
Rick: Look, you say my father doesn't know why I did this. I'm beginning to wonder the same thing. I was just caught up in a fantasy, you know? I-I didn't care how we ended up together, just as long as we did, and it was so dumb. I-I actually thought we had a future together at Jackie M. And I was seeing what I wanted to see, and I was convincing myself of--of something that was never gonna happen. I was--I was crazy.
Steffy: Maybe we were both crazy. Maybe...
Steffy: We're just crazy in love.
