Pam: You see, Donna, crochet is an art form that takes years to master. To be honest with you, most people aren't half as good as me. It's all about creating these intricate little knots that... oh, never mind. You wouldn't understand anyway.

Donna: It's not rocket science. I'm sure I could figure out how to tie a knot.

Pam: Well, it's not exactly the same as when you're tying one of your lovers to a bedpost.

Owen: Hey, Pam, why don't you go check with our suppliers and make sure you got all the materials that you need to make some more of these great-looking things?

Pam: Okey-dokey, Owen. I'm gonna need truckloads of supplies. These babies are gonna sell like hotcakes. Toodles.

Owen: Look, I know that it is not easy working with her.

Donna: It's torture.

Owen: Look, I know. But you and I really need for the surf line to become a hit.

Donna: Look, the whole company does. Forrester holiday sales were a bust, and, look, I just wish our whole collection wasn't relying on Pammy's stupid bikini.

Owen: Hey, look, I promise you that I will be the one to work closely with Pam. Just please don't put up any roadblocks.

Donna: (Sighs)

Katie: (Sighs) I told my sisters about our engagement. They want to throw me a shower.

Nick: Great.

Katie: (Laughs)

Nick: I love finger sandwiches.

Katie: You're not invited. No boys allowed.

Nick: Really?

Katie: (Chuckles) I guess I should register someplace. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I've got you, and I've got a little guy named Jack.

Nick: It's a great deal. Two for the price of one.

Katie: (Chuckles) I thank God every day for him. I just can't imagine what Ridge must be going through, losing his daughter. I don't know how I'd ever make it through something like that.

Steffy: You're not using me.

Rick: (Moans)

Marcus: Just the girl I was hopin' to run into. Hey. Mwah. Damn, I feel like I haven't seen you in ages.

Steffy: Yeah, well, you know, fashion show craziness, right?

Marcus: Well, yes. Well, now that that's all over, we finally get to spend time together like we said we would. I was thinkin' the cabin in big bear. You know, it'd be good for you to get away. We can chill, make a fire, just the two of us alone. I think we're ready.

Steffy: Um, yeah. Yeah, you're--you're right. We should, um-- we should get away.

Marcus: Yeah? That's great. Okay, so we'll head out tomorrow. We'll pack our things and jump in the car, and we'll leave all our worries in the dust.

Steffy: Yeah.

Marcus: Okay, great. Um, well, I gotta run, all right? But I'll call you later? Cool. Mwah.

Steffy: (Sighs)

(cell phone rings)

Rick: Hello?

Steffy: Hey, Rick, it's me. I really need to talk to you.

Rick: Uh, yeah, just, uh, meet me in my office right away.

Bridget: I mean, it's really beautiful.

Donna: That's what they say.

Bridget: I know that there's a waiting list, but since I am family, I was just wondering if you could move me to the top.

Donna: You are gonna have to ask Pammy dearest. It's her creation. She made the bikini.

Bridget: Pam made this?

Donna: She must have been a closet designer. Who knew?

Owen: Hey, Bridget. I see you're admiring Pam's bikini. You know, that one would probably look really great on you.

Steffy: This is nice.

Rick: It's my new presidential digs. (Clears throat) you like? You okay? What's wrong?

Steffy: Marcus wants to take me to Big Bear to be alone, get closer. Look, I-I care about Marcus, but I just feel that if I--

Rick: You want my opinion. (Clears throat) Don't do it. Don't go.

Owen: Well, I'm gonna go home and, uh, catch a few waves and then start burnin' the midnight oil. I'm gonna put in a good word so I can get you one of those, uh, Pam's creations.

Bridget: Uh, thanks.

Owen: It's good to see you, Bridget.

Bridget: Thank you. It's good to see you, too.

Bridget: (Sighs) (scoffs) What?

Donna: Uh, he's a good guy, you know. He's a total gentleman and pretty good-looking.

Bridget: I have eyes, Donna.

Donna: You're both single. You have the same taste in bikinis. You guys should hang out sometime.

Bridget: Are you trying to play matchmaker?

Steffy: My boyfriend loves me, and he wants to take me to Big Bear. I shouldn't be questioning it.

Rick: You know how I feel, Steffy. What'd you say?

Steffy: That I would. But I-- I can't stop thinking about you. And then I think about my dad who is trying to get over his hostility towards you. He would freak if he knew about us two. I can't do that to him.

Rick: I see. So you've come here to tell me that it's over.

Steffy: I don't regret the things we've done. When you kiss me, I-- I feel things I've never felt before.

Rick: Yeah, I know. We really got ourselves caught up in something here.

Steffy: That can't go on.

Rick: Yeah.

Steffy: Or can it? Is there a way for us just to be together without hurting the people that we love?

Donna: Look, Bridget, you have been through a lot recently.

Bridget: You mean... (clears throat) the divorce.

Donna: I'm not suggesting that you run off with him. Well, at least not yet. Look, it never hurts to have another friend, especially one as good-looking as Owen.

Bridget: (Sighs) You know I threw a glass of water in his face.

Donna: What? (Laughs)

Bridget: I know. I-I-I thought the two of you were cheating on my dad.

Donna: Bridget, you have to believe me. I love your father. Please believe me.

Bridget: I do.

Donna: Okay, so you guys had a cool reception. But, you know, he seemed to have gotten over it, and... (sighs) what about you? I mean, how much time do you spend at the hospital? Do you even have a social life?

Bridget: No. No. No, not really.

Donna: There's probably no one to talk to or to open up to.

Bridget: My job just isn't exactly like the fashion business. When I'm there, I have to give 110%. People's lives are at stake.

Donna: Well, it sounds pretty isolating. You could use a friend. He could use a friend. You know, why don't you just stop by his place on the way home?

Bridget: Just show up unannounced? I'm--that's kind of weird.

Donna: Just be spontaneous, you know? Live a little. You know what? Here. A gift. Go to the beach. You never know what could happen.

Owen: Hey.

Pam: I thought you said we were gonna be working.

Owen: Uh, yes, we are, but I'm gonna go catch a couple of waves real quick, you know? Get my mind right. Then I'm all yours.

Pam: Okay. Well, while you're, uh, hanging ten or whatever it is you boys call it, I'll whip us up, uh, something to eat.

Owen: No, no, no, Pam. You don't have to do that. You've done enough already. You don't have to feed me, too.

Pam: No, I-I'm happy to. You can't design on an empty stomach.

Owen: Well, good luck, because there really isn't much going on in the food department in there.

Pam: I'll crochet us up something.

(Coughing)

Owen: Oh, you did find some food, huh?

Pam: Well, barely. Your fridge was like a science experiment. But I was able to whip up a little something. You have to eat, Owen. You need food for your brain.

Owen: Pam, don't worry about me, all right? Just worry about your fabulous crocheting that is gonna make us famous.

Pam: It is, isn't it? I'll go get the food.

(Knock on door)

Owen: Hey, Pam, what do you think about going upstairs, settin' up the workstation? I'm gonna find out who this is and what they want, and I'll bring the food up, and we can crochet and work?

Pam: Okay.

Owen: Good?

Pam: But, uh, don't be too long. I don't want the food to get cold.

Owen: I won't. You got it.

Owen: Bridget. This is, uh, quite the surprise.

Bridget: Yeah? Well, um, a good one, I hope.

Nick: This is not the best time to get into this, if you don't mind. I'm with my fiancée. Thank you. . telemarketer

Katie: Say that word again.

Nick: Telemarketer?

Katie: No. The one that begins with an "F."

Nick: Fiancée.

Katie: Yes, that one. (Giggles) um, your fiancée needs to use the computer. I gotta check out something on the Forrester web site.

Nick: You've got a computer of your own.

Katie: I know, but it's upstairs. I'm just gonna use yours really quick.

Nick: Well, I'm doing some things here, some business stuff. Would you mind using your own?

Katie: Okay, fine.

Marcus: Hey, ma. Hey.

Donna: Oh, hey, sweetie.

Marcus: I just got word that Pam's workin' here. Are you gonna be okay with this?

Donna: The whole idea is driving me nuts, but Eric and Owen are behind it, so I don't have a choice.

Marcus: Well, I wish you didn't have to be around her at all.

Donna: Owen has promised to take the brunt of it.

Marcus: Okay. But, Mom, just don't let your guard down too fast, all right? Especially since I'm not gonna be around for a couple of days. I'm planning a little getaway with Steffy. Taking her up to Big Bear.

Rick: I think about you all the time, Steffy. I can't get you out of my head. (Sighs) but you know what? For the first time since the accident, I feel so good, so content. This--this bond that we have, I-I-I can't explain it, but it's like you know me, like you understand me. Everything about this feels so right, but none of it's right.

Steffy: I know that. I know that.

Rick: Look, I-- this never should have happened in the first place. I am older. I know better. I should have just stayed away from you from the get-go.

Steffy: I feel the same things that you do. Something happens to me when I'm with you. It's where I want to be and nowhere else.

Rick: Your father cannot know about this, okay? My mother can't know about it. Nobody can know.

Steffy: Then fine. Fine. I'm gonna have to get over you no matter what I feel. I can't let myself think about you. I can't be with you. My father has suffered enough, and I am not going to cause him any more pain.

Rick: No, no. And you know that. I know that. So this has to end, right here, right now.

Steffy: We've said that before.

Rick: But this time we mean it, Steffy.

Steffy: But--but why? Rick, why? Why? Why can't we just-- why can't we just keep it a secret? We could just keep quiet, and--and nobody will know about the two of us. And maybe you and my dad can just fix your relationship. (Sighs) what are we gonna do?

Owen: Uh, come on in.

Bridget: Um, thank you. I just thought I would stop by. Uh, you know, you mentioned the--the bikini, and, uh--

Owen: Yeah.

Bridget: Oh, I'm-- I'm so sorry. Clearly I'm interrupting.

Owen: Oh. Oh, that? No, no, no, no, no, no. That's, um, that's just, um, just a buddy of mine and I are just grabbing dinner real quick.

Bridget: A buddy? Um, oh. Oh. Uh, I think I get it. Um, I am-- I am so sorry. I should not have been here unannounced. I'm--I-I'm so sorry for interrupting.

Owen: No, no, no, no, no. No, Bridget, come on. No!

Bridget: I'll see you around.

Owen: Bridget! (Sighs)

Marcus: I think a few days in Big Bear would be good for Steffy and me.

Donna: Just watch out for the bears.

Marcus: Mom, they're hibernating. I'll be fine.

Donna: Well, I-I hope you guys have fun and-- I mean, Steffy has been going through so much the last few weeks.

Marcus: Yeah. I've tried to be there for her as much as I can.

Donna: Just be patient. It might take her a while to be back to herself.

Marcus: Yeah, I know, but it's just hard because I haven't seen a lot of her.

Donna: She's probably just spending time with her family.

Marcus: (Sighs) Yeah, it'd be good for both of us to get away for a while.

Donna: Well, you deserve to be happy. She deserves to be happy. Steffy is one lucky woman to have you. (Laughs)

Rick: I'm not gonna hurt you, Steffy. It's the last thing I want to do.

Steffy: I know. I know.

Rick: I'm sorry, but I never should have kissed you in the first place. I'm messing with your life. I'm doing everything wrong. (Sighs) look, you have to go back to Marcus, okay? Look, you--you shared something so special with him. You can have that back.

Steffy: But can I really?

Rick: Well, you gotta try, Steffy. Nothing good is gonna come from you and me. Listen to me. Enough has happened with your family already. I'm not gonna do this to you.

Steffy: I know. I know you're right, but I don't want you to be right.

Rick: We have to be realistic here. I'm not gonna paint a fantasy for you, especially a fantasy that's just gonna end up breaking your heart.

Steffy: Fine. Fine. I'll go with Marcus.

Rick: Good.

Steffy: And I'll forget about you, and I'll forget about us.

Rick: Okay.

Steffy: Mm-hmm.

Rick: Just go to him. Like you said, forget about me. Forget about you and me. We're working together. We're gonna see each other, for God's sake.

Steffy: Yeah.

Rick: But listen to me. What we have shared thus far, nobody can no about that. That has to be our secret, okay?

Steffy: Yeah.

Rick: I want to tell you something. When you came to my place that night and you reached out to me and you told me that you believed me--remember that? You'll never know how much that meant to me. You were like my-- my lifeline that night.

Steffy: I felt the same. You came into my life, and we just connected. And I know--I know-- I know we can't be together. I know that. It's just that I-- God, it's just that I--

Rick: (Grunts) (Sighs)
