Ridge: Logan!

Nick: There you are. Is Jack okay?

Katie: Yeah, he was just fretting a little bit. He's fine.

Nick: Good, good, good, good, good.

Katie: How 'bout you?

Nick: Couldn't be better. I've decided those two I'm not worrying about anymore.

Katie: Good.

Nick: Yep.

Katie: I mean, I know they're not exactly your favorite couple.

Nick: No. You know why? 'Cause there gonna do what they're gonna do.

Katie: Right. You seemed a little worried about Brooke.

Nick: Well, that's because you said she sounded pretty out of whack when you talked to her on the phone.

Katie: That's why they wanted us to keep Jack. I'm sure they'll work everything out.

Nick: You know, maybe they will, and maybe they won't.

Eric: This doesn't make any sense to me.

Thorne: That's what Mom told me. Said some big blowup between the two.

Eric: Your mother's not involved in this, is she? Because I told her in no uncertain terms that she has to come to grips with the fact that Brooke and Ridge are together, now stronger than ever.

Thorne: I don't think she's involved, Dad. I mean, she seemed confused about the whole thing. She didn't even know what caused it.

Eric: Well, I hope she's misinformed. You know, she has to be, after that speech that Brooke gave about Ridge on the podcast.

Thorne: Yeah, it was something, wasn't it?

Eric: It was beautiful, actually, and I can't-- I can't believe that Ridge would be any less affected by it than I was. No, Stephanie has to be wrong. The last thing that Brooke and Ridge need now is another problem after everything they've been through. What the hell could they be fighting about?

Rick: The ball is in your court, Stephanie.

Stephanie: I don't like being put in this position by you.

Rick: What's not to like? I did all the work. Ridge and Brooke are fighting again thanks to me.

Stephanie: Yes, thanks to you.

Rick: The-- the moral high road doesn't suit you, Stephanie, so just stop it.

Stephanie: You don't know me very well, Rick.

Rick: Oh, I know you very well. Although I will admit, maybe not so great over the past few years 'cause I was working my butt off at Forrester International.

Stephanie: Oh, poor Ricky. All work and no play? Is that the story?

Rick: All right, you know, fine. I admit it. I-I had a lot of fun. I met a lot of great people. But I did not get to the top partying every night in Paris. So you don't know me that well either.

Stephanie: You got to the top, you got to be president by lying to your father, manipulating him and letting him think that you were paralyzed. For God sakes. (Sighs) you're right. You probably have ruined your mother's relationship with Ridge over this-- this podcast thing. I thought I knew you. I do. But you know what? The saddest thing about this whole mess is you're a Forrester. This is your family. You don't treat your brothers and your sisters like this.

Rick: (Scoffs) Stop right there. Because now you're being inaccurate. Because the last time I checked, Ridge is the bastard son of Massimo Marone and you. He's not my brother.

Stephanie: That's a really smart way to get me to partner with you.

Rick: It's ironic, isn't it? But I did learn a little something over at Forrester International. When you and your enemy have a common goal, you work together.

Stephanie: We don't have a common goal. I'm interested in my son's well-being. You want revenge against him.

Rick: Oh, you're splitting hairs, okay? We both want the same end product here, and that is Ridge and Brooke separated, not a couple.

Stephanie: I want them apart, but I don't think quite as much as you do. I'm not willing to participate in this lie. And let me tell ya, don't be so confident. You know, where this mess is headed may be quite different than what you want.

(Horse blusters)

Eric: You've seen the way they look at each other. I mean, Ridge and Brooke are meant to be together.

Thorne: Maybe you're right. Maybe Mom did have it wrong.

Eric: Well, one thing's for sure. If they are fighting, it has nothing to do with Brooke's speech on the internet. I mean, that was clearly a tribute to Ridge.

Thorne: Well, so what could it be? Unless...

Eric: Unless what?

Thorne: Unless it has to do with Rick again.

Rick: Oh, Stephanie, come on. You can't be serious. Why would you blow the biggest opportunity in years to break up my mom and Ridge? Why?

Stephanie: My hunch is they're going to break up anyway.

Rick: No, it's not gonna happen. No, it's not gonna happen. Listen to me. After what I've done, after what I'm doing, if my mom ever finds out, she's gonna be devastated. She'll never forgive me. And that will drive her even closer to Ridge. They'll be tighter than ever. And she'll probably never speak to me ever again, which you probably don't care about.

Stephanie: Well, of course I care about it. Do you think I've taken pleasure over the years in watching the problems that you've had with your mother? No. It breaks my heart when I see--

Rick: (Laughs) Oh, God, Stephanie, please.

Stephanie: Okay, don't believe me if you don't want to, but it does. Look, you're such an intelligent and accomplished fellow. You did such a beautiful job at Forrester International. Why? Why do you continue to waste this intelligence and this talent and this drive fighting with Ridge and so desperately seeking your mother's approval? And I blame her for that more than you.

Rick: You think I'm needy when it comes to my parents.

Stephanie: (Laughs) Oh, my God.

Rick: Okay, okay, okay. All right, I admit it. I do. But it's all because of Ridge, Stephanie. No, he was my father's golden boy at my expense. He was the center of my mother's universe at my expense.

Stephanie: Rick, honey, at some point, we have to become an adult. You have to figure out your parents did the best they could. You forgive them. And you move on with your life.

Rick: I am moving on with my life, Stephanie! I am finally getting the respect and the approval that I deserve from my parents. And as president of Forrester Creations, I will make damn sure that Ridge is nothing more than a footnote.

Brooke: You came here, too. How can it not be right?

Nick: (Sighs) (exhales) The air is feeling very heavy in here. Would you knock it off? Quit obsessing about Ridge and Brooke. This is about their history, you know? And it's about passion. And they've got a ton of history, but I think the passion may be dwindling a little bit. Here, hold onto this for me. I just hope that none of this bad vibe filters back down to Jack.

Katie: Yeah, I worry about that, too.

Nick: You're supposed to call Brooke and find out when we're supposed to take him back over there?

Katie: You know what? Let's wait. (Sighs) Brooke was such a basket case before.

Nick: Why are you so worried about them?

Katie: I guess I just always thought that they could survive anything.

Nick: Uh-huh. And now you're questioning that.

Katie: No, no. It's just that this whole situation with Rick has put a strain on the relationship.

Nick: Right. Well, it's like I said before. If Forrester makes her choose between him and those kids, he may not wind up on top.

Rick: Stephanie, please, you have every reason in the world to go along with this.

Stephanie: I have one very important reason not to. That is your father. He wants to see Ridge and your mother together.

Rick: Well, he's wrong in this case, all right?

Stephanie: It may be wrong, but it's not wrong in his mind. This is what he wants. And he asked me today at the office-- he said to me, "Stephanie, please, please don't interfere in this relationship."

Rick: He ain't ever gonna find out about it, Stephanie.

Stephanie: You can't guarantee that. What the hell? Ridge finds out that this-- this stupid podcast was deleted in some way, heads are gonna roll, and one of those heads will be mine.

Rick: It's a computer glitch, Stephanie.

Stephanie: (Scoffs)

Rick: It's foolproof, all right? Listen to me.

Stephanie: (Sighs)

Rick: Think about my father. Think about his health, all right? He's not that strong right now. He finds out what I've been doing, what I am doing, it-- it could literally kill him. He's gonna look like a fool for believing in me, for--for making me president. The--the company can't handle another scandal. Just do it for him.

Stephanie: You are such a con artist. If I could strangle you and get away with it, I would. Believe me. (Sighs) (sighs) no one can find out. I don't want to lose your father again.

Rick: Who's gonna find out about it? I can't say anything. After what I've done? Sheesh. Look, we hate this. This is awkward, makes our skin crawl. I get that. But we have to be allies here. We have to work together, because only you and I can put an end to Ridge and Brooke.

Brooke: Here we are back at the sacred place where our love was never stronger. But it is, Ridge. It's stronger than ever. Yes, we had a fight, and I still don't understand. But to find each other here on this stretch of the beach... (laughs) what could it possibly mean?

Ridge: How about destiny? How could I ever not love you?

Nick: Come on, come on, come on. This is way, way, way, way too serious in here. Let Ridge and Brooke have their lives, would ya? Here.

Katie: All right.

Nick: Let's have ours.

Katie: Oh.

Nick: Your shot. Come on. Come on. Come on. You're up.

Katie: All right. Here we go.

Nick: It's off!

Katie: It's way off.

Nick: I told ya.

Katie: Okay.

Nick: Get back there. You rebound. You rebound.

Katie: All right.

Nick: Did you see that stroke earlier?

Katie: Yeah, I was watchin'.

Nick: Oh, remember? I never think I've missed--

Katie: It's--oh.

Nick: Huh?

Katie: And you make it.

Nick: (Chuckles) Even though you distract me.

Katie: Yes, you are easily distractible.

Nick: Well, I'll tell you what. You do distract me, like--like really distract me.

Katie: (Giggles) I love you so much. And I love our family together. Just say nothing ever has to change.

Nick: Nothing ever has to change. Anything else?

Katie: Yes, one thing.

Nick: Okay. I'm waiting. Never mind. I'm distracted again.

Thorne: Okay, guys, listen up. My name is Thorne Forrester, and I'd like to welcome you all to the auditions for the spring line. Um, we're very excited about this line, and I'm sure that each and every one of you will do an amazing job. Has everyone turned in their bios?

Men and women: Yes.

Thorne: Good. Uh, the auditions will take place downstairs in room 117, okay? All right, good luck to all of you.

Woman: Thank you.

Thorne: You got it. Owen, what the hell are you--

Man: Excuse me?

Thorne: Sorry about that. You look like somebody else, man.

Man: That's all right.

Thorne: Good luck. You got it.

Eric: The spring campaign?

Thorne: Yeah. Looks like we have a pretty good group. Listen, I, uh, faxed the fabric orders to the Philippines. They gave me a, uh, target date for shipping, which, uh, might be the middle of next month. I assume that's okay?

Thorne: Dad?

Eric: I'm sorry, Thorne. What were you saying?

Thorne: Nothing. We can talk about it later.

Eric: You know what you said earlier about Rick...

Thorne: That he may be the cause for Ridge and Brooke's problems?

Eric: I think maybe I might be the cause of Ridge and Brooke's problem, promoting Rick over Ridge.

Thorne: Well, I'm sure Ridge is pretty damned upset.

Eric: And Rick has not had the opportunities the two of you have had. And he did a terrific job at international.

Thorne: Come on, Dad. Running international and running Forrester Creations is two different things.

Eric: Yes, well, he'd be a lot better off if Ridge would have agreed to share the presidency with him.

Thorne: Oh, you had to have known that Ridge was not going to take you up on that offer.

Eric: Well, why? Why does he have to be so arrogant?

Thorne: Well, that's a question for the ages, isn't it?

Eric: Yeah, well--

Thorne: It's certainly nothing new.

Eric: I wish--I wish that all of you guys would learn to be just a little more generous with one another, cut each other a little slack. Now Rick's had a very difficult time of it lately-- his breakup with Taylor and-- and this--this accident of his, and--

Thorne: Yeah, making him president, that sure as hell's gonna pull his life together. (Sighs)

Eric: Yes, it will. You know, responsibility has a way of--of doing that. Anyway, it was something that I felt I had to do for the company and for me.

Thorne: Dad, I get the father thing, okay? I really do. And it had to be a huge boost for Rick to get a vote of confidence like that from you. But I gotta say it, and I'm gonna say it. Rick is and has been a divisive force in this family. Now keep an eye on him. This is a guy with an agenda. He may be great. He may be. But he also may be a hell of a lot of trouble.

Stephanie: You haven't accomplished anything yet.

Rick: Yes, I have. Stephanie, think about it. Mom and Ridge are arguing again. Ridge is feeling sorry for himself. I did it. I have done what you have spent almost a lifetime trying to do. I have broken up Brooke and Ridge, and the craziness and the drama that is their relationship, and all this ridiculous talk of destiny will just fade into the sunset.

Ridge: You're a vision, Logan. Everything beautiful in this world.

Brooke: I can't even think about my world without you in it.

Ridge: Not ever.

Brooke: The place we got married, and here we are again.

Brooke: I will be your Logan forever.
