Donna: Stephanie. Stephanie, listen to me. Stephanie!
Donna: Look, she-- she is dangerous. We have to learn to-- to put our differences aside. I'm begging you. You may be the only person who can get through to her.
Beth: I know. I wanted to go straight to the hospital, but that wouldn't have left anyone to wait for the kids. My God, Katie must be devastated.
Brooke: She is.
Beth: How's Nick handling it?
Brooke: He's torn up about it. But he's trying to put on a brave face for Katie's sake.
Beth: (Sighs) Well, she knew there were risks, but still, she had hopes and dreams for that child. She's lost more than a baby. You know, you are an amazing sister, Brooke. I-it was incredibly loving of you to let Jack go home with them, considering all the circumstances. (Doorbell rings)
Brooke: (Sighs) Hi.
Taylor: Hi, Brooke. Do you have a minute?
Brooke: Uh, sure. Come in.
Beth: Listen, I'm just gonna let you girls chat. I'm gonna head out for my walk anyway. Nice to see you, Taylor.
Taylor: Good to see you, Beth.
Beth: Okay. Bye-bye.
Brooke: Bye, Mom.
Beth: Bye, hon.
Brooke: So what brings you by?
Taylor: I wanted to let you know that Rick and I have, um, well, we've made a decision.
Brooke: About what?
Taylor: Our wedding. We're going to be getting married next week.
Taylor: Yes. It's at Il Giardino, and there's going to be a lovely ceremony, but it's very intimate, very informal. And we'd like to have you there. It's very important that Rick have you there, because you're his mother, so it's important to me.
Brooke: Wow. Next week, uh... (sighs) I don't know. That doesn't really give me much time to figure--
Taylor: (Sighs) you don't have to start doing that. I already know you don't approve.
Brooke: No, Taylor. I don't approve. I don't think this is the right relationship for my son.
Taylor: Well, we don't really want anyone at the wedding that doesn't want to support us, so if you choose not to come, I guess that's just the way it is. But we would like you there. Rick would like you there because he just wants you to accept this is what he wants.
Brooke: I'll talk to my son about it.
Taylor: How's Jack?
Brooke: Oh, everything's... (sighs) everything's good. So how are you doing?
Taylor: Well, it hasn't been easy getting used to not having Jack around. But I just try to keep reminding myself that that was the best thing for Jack, and that's really all that matters. But I do miss him. Would you mind if I just visited with him for a second?
Brooke: Actually, he's-- he's not here right now. He went home with Katie and Nick.
Taylor: Wait, I thought this was your night here with him.
Brooke: It was. It's just that Katie needed to spend some time with Jack. She lost her baby tonight.
Steffy: What about now?
Marcus: Mm. You know, maybe you should try, um, right here.
Steffy: Better now?
Owen: Knock-- (groans) knock-knock. Sorry, you guys. Didn't mean to interrupt.
Steffy: Hey, Owen.
Marcus: Yeah. Perfect timing, man.
Owen: What the hell happened to you? I was leaving Forrester when I found out you got rushed out of there.
Marcus: Snake bite.
Owen: What? How did that happen?
Marcus: Well, I was opening up a delivery for my mother, and there was a cobra in it.
Owen: You're kidding me, right?
Marcus: Uh, obviously not.
Owen: Oh, my God. That's crazy.
Stephanie: Pam has managed her condition her whole life. And there have been other times when she stopped taking the medication, and she was difficult during those times, but she was never dangerous. So honestly, I think that you're so far off base to accuse her of doing this to Marcus.
Donna: Off base? She's crazy.
Stephanie: No, Donna, she is not crazy. She's obsessive-compulsive.
Donna: Okay, fine. Fine. You remember this-- this sweet little innocent girl, a little sister that-- that looked up to you. But don't--don't you see? It's her blind loyalty to you that made her do this.
Stephanie: And how is she supposed to have accomplished something like this? How is she supposed to get a snake, get it over to India, get it in a box, have it delivered all the way from there to here? It just absolutely makes no sense. I mean, it's just-- it's--it's-- it's crazy. Let's just wait. (Sighs) let's wait till the police find her and bring her in, all right? Let's just--just let's wait. (Sighs)
Donna: Okay. Okay, I-I don't know why after being a good sister to you her whole life she suddenly-- suddenly snapped, but it happens sometimes. It happens to people. And I think she's doing this for you. Whatever it takes to get you and Eric back together again.
Stephanie: You're upset because of what's happened to Marcus, and I appreciate that. I-I'm so sorry about that. But I don't need you "out of the picture," so to speak in-- in order to reconcile with my husband. Eric and I are going to spend the rest of our lives together because we're meant to. I believe that, donna. I believe that so deeply in my heart. And eventually, the police are going to find Pam, all right? They're gonna bring her back, and when they do, if it proves that-- until somebody can prove to me that she's guilty, I am not going to condemn my sister. I can't do that. I cannot do that. (Whispers) I can't.
Taylor: I'm sorry. Um, it's very painful losing a baby, even in the early stages of pregnancy. So if you think Katie could use some professional advice, just don't hesitate to call me.
Brooke: Thank you. You know, it's just... (sighs) it's just been so unfair, everything that Katie's gone through these last few months. I never did really accept that pregnancy, but at least that baby gave her hope, brought faith into her life, gave her something to live for.
Taylor: I know. I know. She's been through a lot. Losing her brother, and now this. I know it has to be difficult for her. But that's also why it's-- it's kind of strange to me that she would be able to be around Jack. Because a lot of women, after they lose a baby-- it's very difficult for them to be around other children.
Brooke: Well, that's what I thought, and I had my misgivings, too, but... (sighs) Ridge just said I was making too much of it.
Taylor: Well, it's unusual. But everybody's different. So maybe it'll help her if she spends some time with Jack, and it'll help her heal emotionally.
Brooke: I hope so. Jack is Nick's child, and... (sighs) I know that Katie already loves him. So if that's what she needs to feel better-- spend time with Jack, then who am I to say no? Besides, it's only one night. Jack'll be back here in the morning. (Sighs)
Owen: So how did the snake get into that box?
Steffy: The shipment was from India. We think it got in the crate somehow. Just some weird, freak accident.
Owen: Huh. Wait a minute. So you said that the box was originally meant for Donna, right? Had her name on it?
Steffy: Mm-hmm. Yeah, it was in a box of prototype shoes she ordered for the new line.
Owen: Was--was she there when you opened up the box and you got bit by the snake?
Marcus: Look, Owen, look. My mom is fine, okay, if that's what you're getting at. Look, man, get my mom outta your mind, okay? She's trying to save her marriage.
Owen: Look, man, take it easy. Take it easy, all right? I get you're just trying to be protective. But I was here for her when she needed me most, and I'm still here for her in case she needs me again. Her and Eric may work out, and they may not, but I'm not gonna stop caring about her.
Donna: Eric, there's something-- something I have to tell you.
Eric: Donna, calm down now. Now what--what is it? What's wrong?
Donna: I just--I got-- I had the worst day today.
Eric: What? What? What happened?
Donna: (Sighs) Oh, God. Just--just please hold me. Just hold me. Please.
Eric: Okay. Shh.
Eric: It's okay.
Donna: My God, I just feel so safe in your arms, especially after what happened today. It's--
Eric: Okay. All right. Now what is it? Tell me. What's wrong?
Donna: Something happened to Marcus today at work.
Eric: What? What? Is he all right?
Donna: Yes. Yes. But I could've-- I could've lost my son today, Eric.
Eric: Oh, God. Wait, Marcus was bitten by a snake? How is that even possible?
Donna: My God, it was just-- it was horrible.
Eric: Is he--is he all-- he's all right, Donna?
Donna: Yes. Yes, we rushed him to the hospital. The doctors gave him the antivenom. They said he's gonna be okay.
Eric: Oh, God, no wonder you're so upset.
Donna: I just-- (sighs)
Donna: I just had to come here and tell you. (Sighs) but, Eric, there's-- there's something else.
(Cell phone rings)
Donna: (Sighs) (Rings)
Brooke: Donna, you have to come home.
Donna: Wh--what is it?
Brooke: There's been an accident.
Donna: What happened?
Brooke: Mom was hit by a car.
Donna: Oh, my God.
Brooke: Just get over here.
Donna: Okay, okay, I'm on my way.
Eric: Donna, what is it? What's wrong?
Donna: My--my--my mom-- she just got hit by a car.
Donna: Look, I-I don't know how bad it is. I have--I have to go.
Woman: I'll be back later for your blood draw.
Marcus: Thank you. Who the hell does Owen think he is comin' around here askin' 20 questions? It's none of his business.
Steffy: He seemed concerned about you.
Marcus: No, about my mom, Steffy, not me. The guy is obsessed with her.
Steffy: He's obviously not over her. That's for sure.
Marcus: Ever since he came into town. I knew I had a bad feeling about that dude.
Steffy: But he did save your mom's life.
Marcus: Yeah, and I was willing to cut the guy a break after that, too. But then what does he do?
Marcus: He steps out of bounds and tries hollerin' at my mom. Couldn't respect the fact that she was married to Eric.
Steffy: Your mom does want to get back with my granddad... right?
Marcus: Yeah. More than anything in the world, Stef. And now that Owen's gone, now she gets the chance to make things right with Eric. Look, all I know is that Owen better stay away from her. The guy is bad news, Stef.
Beth: Oh. (Gasps) Ow.
Brooke: All right, Mom, let's get you cleaned up.
Beth: Oh, God.
Donna: Oh, my--oh, my God. Mom, are you okay?
Beth: Oh, I'm gonna be fine, sweetie.
Donna: My God, what happened?
Beth: Oh, I was just out for an evening walk, and suddenly out of nowhere, a car comes right at me.
Donna: Well, what did you do?
Beth: Well, I dived in the bushes to avoid getting run down. (Groans)
Donna: (Sighs) But you--you--you-- you still got hit.
Beth: Yeah, it clipped me, but I'm really lucky it wasn't more serious. Ooh.
Brooke: Ooh, Mom.
Donna: Oh, Mom, that do-- that doesn't look good.
Beth: Ugh, that's gonna leave a nasty bruise. Oh, man, that was scary. (Sighs) you know, it was like they were trying to run me down.
Brooke: Why, though? Why would somebody want to hurt you?
Beth: Oh, I don't know.
Donna: Did you-- did you get the description of the car? The--the license plate or--
Beth: Uh, no. I got nothing. It all happened so fast. Oh, God, my heart is still pounding.
Brooke: You think we should call the police?
Beth: Well, I don't have any solid evidence for them. What would we say?
Brooke: Well, I'm definitely getting you to the hospital.
Beth: Oh, no, honey, we'll just clean--
Donna: Look, I-I'm taking you to the hospital, Mom. Please, you--
Brooke: No, honey-- no, donna, please stay here. 'Cause Hope and R.J. are gonna be dropped off, and I was hoping you'd stay and watch them. I'm gonna take Mom.
Beth: Oh, God.
Donna: Okay. All right. Um...
Beth: Just--let me just--
Donna: Just be careful, okay?
Brooke: I know. Slowly. It's okay.
Donna: Oh, my God. Marcus and now my mom. Damn you, Pam!
Donna: Who is it?
Owen: It's me. It's Owen.
Donna: (Sighs) Owen, what-- what are you doing here?
Owen: I heard what happened to Marcus. I just came over here to see if you were all right.
Donna: No, I'm--I'm fine. I'm fine. He--he's the one that was attacked.
Owen: Look, Donna, that package had your name on it. Come on, don't kid yourself. You're the one who's in danger.
Donna: Can I tell you something?
Owen: Yeah. Of course you can.
Donna: What happened to Marcus wasn't the only thing.
Owen: What are you talkin' about?
Donna: My mom-- she was struck by a car. A hit-and-run. Somebody is out to get me and my family.
Steffy: You know, I guess I should be a good girlfriend and let you get some rest.
Marcus: Mnh-mnh. You can't leave me here all by myself.
Steffy: Uh, yeah, I probably broke visiting hours a while ago.
Marcus: Hey, forget the rules. I got special orders from the doctor.
Steffy: Oh, you did, did ya?
Marcus: Mm-hmm. He said, and I quote, he says, "Marcus, the more loving you get, the faster you heal." He did. For real.
Steffy: (Laughs) Really?
Steffy: Oh, okay. Well, in that case, maybe I'll stay. I wouldn't want to hinder your recovery.
Marcus: Come here.
Owen: Is your mom okay?
Donna: Yeah. Yeah. She--she's gonna be okay. But it wasn't an accident. Look, this--this car-- this car went right for her. Did--didn't even try to stop. I think it was intentional, Owen.
Owen: Well, I don't think that I have to ask this question, but are you thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?
Donna: Yeah. Pam and her deranged way of keeping me away from Eric.
Owen: Look, it makes total sense. She poisons Eric, she sics that bear on you, and now Marcus gets bitten by a snake, and your mom ends up getting hit by a car. It's gotta be her.
Donna: O-okay. My niece and nephew are gonna be back here any second. You--you gotta go, okay? We'll talk about this later.
Owen: Look, Donna, I don't want to leave you alone.
Donna: No, stop it. I appreciate your concern, but I am fighting for my marriage here. Nobody can see us together.
Owen: Okay. But you call me. You call me if you need anything at all, all right? All right.
Pam: I've been watching you, goldilocks, and if you don't stay away from your honey bear, I'm gonna put you into hibernation... permanently.
