Thorne: Where does Mother want her bricks...
Thorne: I mean, books?
Bridget: Anywhere you can find room, just throw it down.
Felicia: What about this ugly lamp? I know all the furniture stays, so--
Bridget: Oh, my God, that? Well, just put it on the dresser in the bedroom. She can decide what she wants to do with that.
Felicia: Good idea--bedroom.
Stephanie: What a glorious spring morning. I mean, the ocean is just magnificent!
Bridget: Well, hello, sunshine. I am gonna miss that view.
Stephanie: I know you are, and I'm so sorry to be uprooting you.
Bridget: Oh, please. Don't apologize. Rick and me had a wonderful time staying here. It was very nice of Dad to let us stay as long as we did, and now you can enjoy it.
Stephanie: Well, if it's all the same to you... I know how busy you are at the hospital, and I-- well, moving is-- you know, it's a pain in the you-know-what.
Bridget: Especially when you're downsizing, huh?
Stephanie: Is that what I'm doing? Oh. Well, I guess it is.
Bridget: You know, I have to tell you, when I heard that you gave Dad and Donna the house in Bel Air, I-- that was really gracious of you, Stephanie.
Stephanie: I don't know about that. I didn't want to rattle around in that big, old house alone anymore. Besides, we've had this beach cottage for years, and it's-- it's familiar territory.
Bridget: I know Dad wanted you in something cozy and comfortable.
Stephanie: Cozy-- is that what it is?
Bridget: It's cozy.
Katie: You are a caveman, aren't you?
Nick: A caveman?
Katie: Yeah, a caveman.
Nick: I take that as a compliment.
Nick: Just because you don't, just because you don't act on your impulses and I do, doesn't make it wrong.
Katie: Oh. You don't know me very well. I might have a little cavewoman inside of me.
Nick: (Laughs) I would love to see that. I would love to see you come out from behind that little shell that you live behind, that--that 16-year-old pimply faced girl that you referred to that all the kids made fun of. I mean, let go of her, will you? You're not the 16-year-old pimply faced girl anymore. You're beautiful. You're hot. You're sexy. Don't you ever have impulses? Don't you ever have desires that make you all crazy?
Katie: Crazy impulses?
Nick: Yeah. Yeah, you should listen to 'em sometimes. Let 'em take you where they want to take you.
Katie: Okay, I will.
Nick: Well, they finally found something to keep you out of trouble, huh?
Katie: Huh. Got you fooled.
Nick: Well, actually, when it comes to women...
Katie: Oh, yeah, you guys are real gullible.
Nick: Oh, we are. It's brutal, we're like putty in your hands.
Nick: Well, you seem sort of in good spirits, sort of. (Clears throat)
Katie: What's in the bag? More pistachios?
Nick: Am I that predictable?
Katie: It's part of your charm.
Nick: Uh-huh. Well, wise guy, you might have been predicting that. Were you predicting this?
Nick: Hmm? How about that?
Katie: Number 24.
Nick: Yeah, the best for the best.
Nick: This is a bit of a tough crowd today. (Clears throat)
Katie: What's the magazine?
Nick: Your route to the play-offs.
Katie: Wow, you really thought of everything.
Nick: Well, that's really not the capper yet, huh?
Katie: Ohh, pretty.
Nick: (Laughs) Pretty nice, huh? What do you think of that?
Katie: Very suave.
Nick: Yeah. Thank you very much.
Katie: Very nice.
Nick: That's who I am.
Katie: Yeah, you might want to cut the price tag off.
Nick: It's a fashion statement.
Katie: Mm, it certainly is.
Nick: Are you gonna make fun of me all day, or are you gonna teach me how to put this stupid, elementary puzzle together?
Donna: Well, guten morgen, Mr. Forrester.
Donna: Wie geht es dir?
Eric: Look at you. You really know how to make an entrance, don't you?
Donna: Whoo! (Laughs) ah. Well, this is how I am when I'm happy.
Donna: You better get used to it.
Eric: I'll do my best.
Donna: (Giggles) Whoo! Hey, you want to take a swim?
Eric: (Sighs) You know how much I would love to do that. But no, I cant. Not this morning, I cant.
Donna: Oh. Early meeting?
Eric: No, I'm gonna stop by the beach house and be sure everything's okay, see if Stephanie needs anything, you know?
Donna: Well, I hope you're that thoughtful when I'm your ex-wife.
Eric: Oh, my God.
Donna: Uh, this is the part where you say I'll never be your ex-wife.
Eric: And well, how would you respond to that?
Donna: (Laughs) I would say, "Good, because I have no intention of ever letting my honey bear go."
Donna: Mm. (Knock on door)
Eric: All right, I'll get this. I'll see you at the office.
Eric: (Clears throat) Yes?
Man: Yes, I'm looking for Mrs. Forrester.
Donna: Oh, hi. You were with the caterers, weren't you?
Man: That's right.
Eric: Come in. Um, do you want to take care of business here, Mrs. Forrester?
Eric: All right. Excuse me.
Donna: Yeah, I remember. You--you told me yesterday how sorry you were for my brother's death.
Man: That's right. I'm glad you remember.
Donna: Well, you know, we have an account with the catering service. If--if you didn't get paid, that's where--
Man: No, that's not why I'm here. I don't actually work for them.
Donna: Well, if--if you're not with the caterers, then-- then who are you?
Marcus: My name is Marcus. I--
Donna: Wait a minute. I know who you are.
Marcus: You do?
Donna: To work your way into this home so you can scoop my brother's memorial service? My God, have you-- have you no shame? What happened was a tragedy and deeply personal. For you-- for you to exploit it to sell your tabloids? And to think I fell for your cheap, little display of sympathy. Get out. Get out of my house.
Stephanie: Are you sure you want to leave the cookware and the dishes?
Bridget: Oh, yeah, please. I don't cook. You know that. And I-I get stuff at the hospital or whatever. It came with the house, too, so...
Stephanie: Thank you. If you're sure...
Bridget: Yeah. Yeah, I'm sure. Dad...
Bridget: I've been waiting on you. I-I have to go, though, now.
Eric: No, no, no, no. I-I get it. That's all right. I just want to thank you for being so flexible here.
Bridget: Oh, please. I'm not flexible. You know--mm-- it's good for Rick and me to have a little change once in a while and shake things up.
Eric: Yeah, there you go.
Stephanie: Someday, maybe I can return the favor.
Bridget: Oh. Gee, Stephanie. No need, please. What you can do, though...
Bridget: Is let me come back for the boxes. Can I leave them here?
Stephanie: Of course. Of course.
Bridget: Okay, I'm running so late.
Stephanie: Drive carefully.
Bridget: I will.
Eric: Bye, sweetie.
Bridget: Bye, you two.
Eric: My God, I thought Thorne and Felicia were gonna help you do all this.
Stephanie: They are. They just went up the road to get some sandwiches for lunch. So...
Eric: So, what?
Stephanie: So to what distinct honor do I owe this visit?
Eric: I want to be sure you're all right. Do you have everything you need?
Stephanie: Oh, Mr. Considerate. You're acting as though we're still married. Um, look, I-I-I was thinking earlier today when I was driving down here, and I said to myself, "You know, maybe after all these years, he is a shrewd businessman and I just didn't realize it."
Eric: Yeah? Why?
Stephanie: Well, because you got the house on the hill, and I got the beach cottage.
Eric: Yeah, well, beachfront property is worth a mint, and you know it.
Stephanie: Yeah, I do. That's true.
Eric: And it was your idea I stay in the house anyway.
Stephanie: Yes, it was. I--and I'm going to be very happy all the way down here. Actually, it's a very good idea to put a little distance, I think, between everybody in the family and me for a while.
Nick: These things all look the same to me. I-I'm terrible at this.
Katie: Well, not everybody can have a black belt in puzzles like me.
Nick: Uh-oh. Whoop. I'm vibrating.
Katie: Excuse me?
(Cell phone vibrates)
Nick: Text coming in. "I've officially joined the ranks of the homeless."
Katie: Who's that from?
Nick: Bridget. I guess Stephanie got the Malibu place in the divorce settlement.
Katie: So where does that leave Bridget?
Nick: Well, it sure doesn't make sense for her to live in Malibu and drive in to this hospital every day. That's for sure.
Katie: I know, especially when she's spending so much time with you and Jack.
Nick: Well, also a lot easier on her car when it comes to mileage.
Katie: Especially if it's parked in your garage.
Nick: Uh, I think I'm missing some pieces for the sky here. Could you help me with that part?
Katie: It's kind of a big step if you two move in together.
Nick: Shh. Shh. Shh. I'm working on the sky here.
Katie: Don't you think it's a big step?
Nick: Does this look like a cloud to you?
Katie: No. You know, Nick, you'll never find another woman like Bridget, even if you look for your entire life. You love her. She needs a place to stay. Why not with you and your son?
Eric: I did not suggest that you take this house down here in order to banish you from my life.
Stephanie: Well, I didn't say you did. I think this is a good thing.
Felicia: I agree. Why deal with Donna any more than absolutely necessary?
Marcus: I'm not a reporter. I swear.
Donna: Then who are you?
Marcus: Look, let me--
Donna: No, you look. Where I come from, you don't walk in to a family's home when they're grieving and pretend like you're somebody you're not.
Marcus: No, look, you're right. I should have been more clear about everything, but I wasn't expecting a funeral, you know? I could tell that it wasn't a good time-- a lot of pain, people crying.
Donna: Well, we lost my brother in a terrible way. You know, it hasn't been easy for any of us. My life hasn't-- hasn't been easy, and my brother storm-- he--he protected me. Sorry. I-I don't know why I'm saying this to a perfect stranger. I--
Marcus: Because I'm not a stranger.
Donna: You know, when I-- when I met you yesterday, I had this feeling, and... have we met?
Nick: We decided we weren't gonna rush things.
Katie: Oh, come on. You guys are back together again, right? And you know you're compatible. I'm sure you worked out the whole "cap on the toothpaste" thing the first time around.
Nick: Ah, this is more about toothpaste and socks on the floor and snoring.
Katie: Bridget snores?
Nick: I've also got to think about Jack and the impact on him.
Katie: Well, that shoots your argument all to hell.
Nick: Why? Because I'm concerned about my kid?
Katie: Because we're talking about Bridget, not some bimbo you picked up in a bar three weeks ago. Bridget's great with Jack. Your son needs someone. You need someone. And it'll be good if she's around because I plan on spending a lot of time there. I want to be a part of Jack's life, too, if that's okay.
Nick: Well, yeah. Of course. I want you around as much as you want to be around.
Katie: (Laughs) You may regret those words.
Nick: I doubt it.
Katie: You just want me around 'cause I laugh at your bad jokes.
Nick: Well, you haven't been laughing much lately.
Katie: It hurts to laugh.
Nick: So you do all your laughing on the inside then?
Katie: I have a lot going on on the inside. Most of it doesn't make me feel like laughing.
Nick: I'm aware of that.
Katie: There is one bright spot, though. It gives me hope. It makes me feel like I have a life that's worth living. (Door opens)
Bridget: Hey, you guys.
Bridget: Sorry. I would have checked on you earlier, but I just got here. Hi, honey. Did you get my text?
Nick: Hi. Yeah, yeah, I did. You don't want to live in that Malibu Beach house anyway. Forget about it.
Bridget: I know, and with Stephanie? Oh, wow. You got further on this puzzle than I would have. Look at that.
Katie: Yeah, but of course, I'm missing one stupid piece that ties the whole thing together.
Bridget: Figures, huh? Did Nick tell you? Stephanie's moving back into the beach house, so I'm gonna be looking for a place to live. But I saw a sign on the way over here, uh, like, 4 blocks away. It's this new condominium complex, so I thought--
Katie: Stay with Nick.
Katie: You should stay with Nick.
Katie: It's the perfect answer.
Bridget: Well, Nick and I haven't even discussed this yet.
Katie: Well, Nick was just telling me how much he wanted you to move in with him.
Katie: Right? Tell her. Tell her, Nick.
Nick: Well, you do spend all your time with us, and we both love you to death, so I don't know why you wouldn't move in.
Bridget: Well, I don't want to put you on the spot here.
Nick: How long will it take you to pack your things?
Bridget: Well, I ju-- Nick, I-- (sighs) I mean, everything's pretty much packed, it's just my clothes and--
Nick: Good. Call the movers. I will meet you over there, and I will help move your things in. Please?
Bridget: I-I-- I love you so much. I'm really happy.
Nick: I'm happy, too.
Bridget: Mm. Well, I better go call and make sure that, um, the movers aren't booked and... okay.
Nick: Okay. (Laughs)
Nick: Well, I guess I should thank you.
Katie: This is a good thing. Be happy.
Nick: Aye-aye, captain.
Felicia: (Clears throat) You know, Dad, we have plenty if you'd like to join us.
Eric: Thank you. I think I will.
Stephanie: Well, it's so beautiful, let's eat out on the deck.
Thorne: That's a great idea.
Stephanie: Okay. I-I'm gonna wash up. I'll be right back.
Thorne: Okay. You know, you really have to admire Mother. This is a very difficult situation she's in.
Eric: Yes, it is.
Felicia: Too bad she's in it in the first place.
Eric: Don't get all wound up, Felicia.
Felicia: (Sighs) I know you don't want to hear this, Dad, but I'm saying it anyway. For you to trade in a woman like our mother for that "person" you married blows my mind.
Thorne: I'm with sis.
Eric: Are you two finished now?
Thorne: Just remember one thing, Dad, okay? This new bride of yours has been on her best behavior. But I know Donna, and she comes with a lot of baggage. And I'm not talkin' about a little change purse.
Nick: Hey, sorry. Ahh! In all the excitement, I forgot--
Katie: You forgot your cap.
Nick: I forgot my cap.
Nick: Well, look at that, Katie. Our missing piece.
Marcus: I think that we've met before.
Donna: Wh--you--you think, but--but you don't know?
Marcus: I-it couldn't be.
Donna: What couldn't be?
Marcus: I mean, I-- I always imagined how you look.
Donna: I don't understand.
Marcus: But when I-- when I look into your eyes...
Donna: What are you talking about?
Marcus: Are you my mother?
On the next "Bold and The Beautiful"...
Marcus: You're Donna Logan, right? I found this picture of me when I was a baby, and it had a piece of paper with your name on it. Are you my mother?
Donna: Am I your what?
