Reverend: Eric, will you have this woman to be your wife? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health and, forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?
Reverend: Eric, you answer, "I will."
Stephanie: He can't. I just--I just-- I don't believe that he can do it.
Katie: You want to help me?
Nick: If I can.
Katie: I don't need to be rescued, Nick. I don't need to be cheered up. I'm not a wounded bird that needs to be nursed back to health.
Nick: Wounded bird? You see a stethoscope around my neck? I told you before, I'm just here to keep you company.
Katie: You're not obligated. It's not like we're involved or anything.
Nick: Oh, no, we're friends.
Katie: Which is why I would hope that you could understand why I can't do this.
Nick: Do what?
Katie: I can't talk to you and pretend like what happened to me, what's happened to my family is okay.
Nick: Well, you don't have to talk to me like anything. In fact, you don't have to talk to me at all. You can sit here and stare at the ceiling for all I care. But remember something-- the sound of that oxygen tank-- it's not gonna drown out the sound of your brother's heart beating inside you.
Katie: Nothing can. You can't fix me, Nick. No one can.
Donna: (Whispering) Eric.
Eric: Donna, Donna, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I-I-forgive me.
Donna: (Whispering) Forgive you?
Eric: I should be clearer-headed today. Uh-- I love you. You have changed my life.
Donna: (Whispering) What are you saying?
Eric: (Whispering) I'm saying, "I will." I will. I-I will. (Chuckles) I love you.
Reverend: In the sight of God and this company gathered here, through the exchange of rings and the vows they have made to each other, Donna and Eric have committed themselves to each other in holy matrimony. What God has joined, let no one put asunder. I now pronounce you husband and wife.
Nick: It's amazing that I am so wise for such a young man, 'cause I know what you're doing, and I know why. Telling your family to go to Donna's wedding-- please.
Katie: I just want them to move on with their lives and leave me out of it.
Nick: Right, so you can just hide. So you can just run away and hide. But the truth is you cannot hide from what your brother did, and you can't hide from the fact that he's living inside you. All that dark scary stuff you feel, I've felt that before, and it didn't go away until I asked for help. And the people that wanted to help me-- I let 'em.
Katie: When have you ever needed help?
Nick: I needed help with Jack. And you were there for me.
Katie: Yeah, well, between your mom and Brooke and Taylor and Bridget, Jack has more women drooling over him than even you do.
Nick: (Laughs) Well, thank God. Now I've got more time to spend with you.
Katie: Maybe you should use your time more wisely and figure out what it is you want.
Nick: Well, I'm working on that. I really am. Bridget's been around a lot the last few days.
Katie: Good, that's good. It's about time you realized how special she is.
Nick: She really loves you. And it took a toll on her what happened to Storm, what almost happened to you.
Katie: Storm's death wasn't an accident. But no one wants to admit that. No one wants to admit the truth, not even you.
Man: How about a smile for the bride and groom?
Man: Thank you.
Pam: As if anyone here wants to celebrate.
Taylor: Listen, do you think we should go find Stephanie?
Kristen: Um, Felicia took her out on the terrace.
Pam: (Chuckles) She should have taken Donna out there and thrown her off.
Donna: (Giggles) I am officially the luckiest woman in the world. (Giggles)
Brooke: Congratulations, you two.
Eric: Thank you.
Stephen: I'm happy for you, sweetie.
Donna: Thanks, Dad.
Ashley: Excuse me. I wanted to wish you both well before I left.
Ridge: So soon?
Ashley: Well, yeah, it seems to be more of a family gathering.
Eric: No, no, you're welcome to stay. Why don't you stay?
Ashley: Oh, thank you. And it was lovely, but I really need to go.
Ridge: She wants to go before aunt Pam blows her top.
Stephanie: I didn't believe he'd go through with it.
Felicia: He shouldn't have.
Stephanie: I was so wrong.
Felicia: No, you weren't. I saw the way he looked at you during the ceremony. He still loves you. This was hard for him. Damn it, we should have made it harder. We should have not shown up. We should have had a family boycott.
Stephanie: I have to go back in there.
Felicia: No, Mother, if you leave right now, everybody will understand why. Mom, what are you doing?
Pam: (Gasps) Donna's gonna get an earful now. You go, Stephanie.
Stephanie: Thank you. Has everybody got a glass of champagne, because I would like to make a toast.
Brooke: All right.
Stephanie: Eric, Donna, what you did today took a lot of courage and commitment. Marriage is, after all, as everyone in this room knows, a weighty proposition. The contract isn't written in little tiny fine print. It's in great big bold letters, and it says, "for better or worse, through sickness and in health, till death us do part." And as you so aptly added, "through good times and bad times, no matter what." We, of course, never got to the "death us do part" end of it. What I'm trying to say is our marriage didn't work out for a lot of reasons. I made mistakes. We both made mistakes. And over the years, there was just too much hurt. But through it all-- through it all, you tried to be a very good husband, and you were. Donna, he is a good man. I just hope that you really, really appreciate how fortunate you are. Congratulations. Eric, congratulations. And bon voyage. .
Katie: I don't want to talk anymore.
Nick: It's okay to be angry.
Katie: I'm tired.
Nick: Okay, I'll go. Just one more thing.
Nick: Nobody can tell you how to feel about this, Katie. All we can do is tell you how we feel. So I think I speak for everybody that cares about you, and we're all very happy you're still around.
Eric: You're sneaking out?
Stephanie: It's time to go. The car is here.
Eric: All right. I'll let the kids know.
Stephanie: No, no, no, I don't-- let's not make a big fuss.
Eric: You're their mother. They'd want to say good-bye. Listen, thank you. I'm sorry.
Stephanie: So am I.
Kristen: Oh, it's gonna be okay.
Pam: No, it won't.
Felicia: Hey, Mom's a strong woman. She'll make it through this. She will.
Stephanie: Sweetheart, thank you, Pam. You've been such a good sister. Thank you so much. I appreciate your being here. Now listen, I want you all to stay here and to celebrate with your father.
Pam: (Scoffs) no.
Kristen: Look, we came, okay, but we're not gonna celebrate.
Felicia: They made the wrong choice.
Stephanie: Stop it. It's done. They're married. This is their home. I want you to stay and celebrate with your father for me. Come on.
Ridge: I'll walk out with you.
Stephanie: No, I'm doing this on my own. I love you. I love you all.
Man: Ready to go, Mrs. Forrester?
Stephanie: I just need a moment.
Man: Take your time.
Stephanie: This house is all of me... and Eric and our dreams and our memories. But it belongs to someone else now, you old fool. And you're just... one of many memories inside those walls.
Nick: You take care of yourself.
Ashley: I'm so sorry, Katie. I-I thought you'd be alone.
Katie: You just came from the wedding?
Ashley: Yes. It was lovely. I left right after the ceremony.
Katie: And Donna married Eric?
Katie: Well, thank you for telling me.
Ashley: Sure. Um, that's not the only reason why I'm here. I spoke with Brooke before the ceremony, and she told me you were doing better. But that you're having-- you're having a hard time accepting what Storm did. And, uh, I just want you to know that I don't--I don't harbor any bad feelings towards your brother at all.
Katie: He threatened you with a gun.
Ashley: Well, he had a gun, but I don't think he was gonna hurt me. See, I've thought about this, and I think what he was trying to do was show me that he wasn't a monster. And I guess what he thought is if I could see him holding that little gun, I would understand that he wasn't a monster. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that things aren't what they appeared to be.
Katie: You weren't in danger?
Ashley: Uh, I don't think so.
Katie: He said I didn't understand.
Ashley: That's just because there was no time to explain. Everything happened so quickly.
Katie: I-I grabbed the gun, and I-I pulled the trigger. It was me. I-I was wrong.
Ashley: N-no, Katie, y-you were trying to protect me. That's what you were doing.
Ashley: You were-- you were being very brave and very courageous.
Katie: I'm responsible.
Ashley: Oh, my God. No, you're not responsible, Katie.
Katie: Please, just go. Please, just go, and leave me alone.
Ashley: I'm so sorry. I am so sorry.
Katie: (Sniffling) Ah--you go, too. Just go.
Katie: (Sobbing) Please, just go. Please.
Nick: I'm not gonna leave you.
Katie: I killed him, Nick. I killed him. I killed my brother. I killed him. (Sobbing) I killed him.
Eric: The caterers are gone.
Donna: What about our guests?
Eric: They're on their way out.
Donna: Well, I said good-bye to my family. I-I should say something to yours.
Eric: No, no, no, it's okay. Let 'em go.
Donna: Eric, we invited them into our home.
Eric: And we'll invite them back someday, too, as soon as they lose those sad looks on their faces.
Kristen: So what do you guys think? Should we just leave?
Felicia: Well, there's no reason to hang around here.
Thorne: Yeah. Who wants to go get drunk?
Stephen: You know, your mother showed a lot of class the way she behaved here today. Maybe you could honor her by acting the same way.
Thorne: Come on. I'm buying.
Bridget: I'll see you later.
Stephen: Bye, honey.
Ridge: It's not gonna be the same around here without Mother.
Stephen: Yeah, it feels a lot better already.
Eric: Are you happy? I mean, are-- are you happy the way things turned out?
Donna: We're married. Nothing in this world could make me happier. (Laughs)
Eric: My family was a little tough today.
Donna: Yeah, well, Stephanie and Pam didn't try anything, so... (giggles)
Donna: (Exhales deeply)
Eric: That was some toast Stephanie made.
Donna: Stephanie is some woman.
Eric: Mm-hmm. You may be right about that, but I think I have all the woman I'm ever gonna need...
Eric: Right here. (Laughs)
Donna: You know what? We never got our first dance.
Eric: No. No, we didn't. I think--and I think the musicians are all packing up. Come here, come here.
Eric: David, David, David, would you--would you just play one more thing, please?
David: Absolutely. My pleasure.
Eric: (Speaking indistinctly)
Eric: Remember the day we finished building this house and you and I danced together right here on this very spot?
Stephanie: And the children watched from the balcony.
Eric: They did, didn't they?
Eric: I'd forgotten that.
Stephanie: I hadn't.
Eric: Just like old times.
Stephanie: Do you still find me attractive?
Eric: Does this answer your question?
Stephanie: Good-bye, Eric. Be happy.
