Bridget: (Sighs) (Sighs)
Nick: I'm sorry.
Nick: I'm sorry that you walked in and heard me and your mom.
Bridget: That's nothing for you to be e sorry about. What she did was wrong... to me and to you, Nick.
Nick: Bridget I'm not gonna defend but please, remember that she's your mother and that you love her and that she loves you, and don't ever let anything or anybody jeopardize that.
Bridget: She wants you to stand on the sidelines and wait for her.
Nick: I'm not gonna wait.
Bridget: Then what about us? What about you and... and me?
Nick: (Sighs) (Sighs) I just don't want anybody to get hurt, Bridget.
Bridget: No one is going to get hurt.
Nick: You know, I just came out of a marriage with Taylor. I just had my heart pretty much be up on the floor by your throat. I'm not ready to jump into something. I...
Bridget: I know that. I know that. No one's asking for a commitment, Nick. I'm asking you-- I'm asking you to live in the now. I want to be with you. That's what I want. It may just... (sighs) be tonight. I-I don't know. But I do know what I want, what I need, and that's you.
Bridget: I want you. God, I want you tonight.
Stephanie: All right, I've driven all the way over. Now what is so important that you couldn't just tell me on the phone?
Pam: I just wanted to fill you in about my new job.
Pam: Here at Forrester.
Stephanie: What-- what are you talking about?
Pam: Meet the new receptionist, Stephanie, me!
Pam: Eric was in this bind with the last bimbo that he had up here, so I just jumped in, saved the day, and he was so impressed; he hired me on the spot.
Stephanie: Well, honey, I didn't even know you wanted to work. But well, congratulations.
Stephanie: That's terrific. That's wonderful. Okay. Well, now I'm going home.
Pam: No, no. You can't leave. There's more news about you.
Pam: Yes, about you. Eric has a wonderful surprise for you, Steph.
Stephanie: Oh, no. Honey, I don't want any more of his surprises. The last one was a doozy. No, he's made his choice. I've accepted the fact that no matter what we've been through together, how much we've shared-- the family, the business-- he's leaving. Donna's got my husband. I give up.
Pam: No, you can't give up. You cannot let Donna do this to you. Stephanie, I know that Eric still loves you.
Stephanie: (Laughs) Yes, honey, I agree. He does, in his own way. Look, Donna's in the picture. Maybe if she wasn't, maybe-- I don't know. Maybe Eric and I could work things out. But for right now, there's nothing I can do.
Pam: That's not true. You can't give up, Steph. Look, you just hang inhere, okay? You never know what might happen. Oh. I gotta go meet, uh, Donna for coffee.
Stephanie: Donna? What are you talking about?
Pam: Yeah, it was Eric's idea. At first, I thought...
Pam: You gotta be kidding me. But, uh I'm kind of looking forward to it. Love you.
(Cell phone rings)
Bridget: Katie, hey, it's Bridget. Um, I was just wondering what you were, uh, up to tonight, if you could come over and watch Jack.
Katie: Oh, I'd love to, but I can't. I'm going bowling.
Katie: Yeah, I just joined the new league at Forrester. I'm really good. I got my own ball. I just got a new pair of bowling shoes.
Bridget: Katie, I don't care about your new bowling shoes. I need you to come over.
Katie: (Sighs) After a couple rounds?
Bridget: No. Can you please come now, please, and bring your toothbrush?
Katie: What? (Gasps) Oh. Oh, okay. O-okay, I'll come right now. Bye.
Bridget: (Sighs) (Whispers) Did I shave my legs? (Sighs) It's okay. You just calm down.
Eric: Stephanie, good, you're here. I was gonna-- I was gonna call you. I have a, uh, I have a surprise for you. I hope you'll like it.
Stephanie: (Chuckles) I can hardly wait. Tea?
Eric: No. Uh, come sit down. Sit down.
Stephanie: Thank you.
Eric: You're an important part of my life, you know? You've been an important part of this business, too. And just because we're not-- we're no longer gonna be husband and wife doesn't mean we can't continue to be business partners. You know, we built this thing from the ground up, you and I, and we've weathered all kinds of Storms together, so, uh, I want you to come back and work at the company.
Stephanie: I don't know, honey. I've just started playing golf again.
Stephanie: I take it Donna would be working here, as well?
Eric: Yes. Stephanie, Donna's fully aware that there wouldn't even be a Forrester Creations without you. And she agrees that it would be best for all concerned if you came back to the company. That is if you-- you agree.
(Upbeat music playing)
Pam: You're late. What's the matter? You can't tell the big hand from the little hand?
Donna: Mm. Yeah, well, I wasn't exactly in a-a rush to get here... for obvious reasons.
Pam: Yeah, I imagine you're a pretty busy girl, what with your job and family and planning for a wedding.
Donna: Look here, Pam. Uh, um, I'm just gonna cut to the chase. I realize that you're upset with me. You think that I'm the reason that Stephanie and Eric won't be spending the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.
Pam: Well, aren't you?
Donna: No, that marriage was long over before I was in on the scene. You know, but--but what's important now is that--is that we all just get along now that we're living under the same Forrester roof. I mean, that is unless, of course, you're going back to Chicago. Your mother's there, right? And from--from what I hear, she's just, um, all alone and--and old and frail. She probably needs you. Yeah, and- and Chicago, I mean, it almost spring there. It's--it the loveliest time of year.
Pam: Yeah, Chicago is a really lovely city. There's no other place like it-- history, all that architecture and wonderful people, real people, not like L.A., where it's filled with superficial moneygrubbing Barbie dolls. (Chuckles)
Nick: Well, I changed him. He's asleep now.
Bridget: Oh, good. Well, Katie's gonna come over.
Bridget: Yeah, I-I-I called her, and, uh, she doesn't mind. I just thought she could watch Jack so we wouldn't be interrupted while we, um, talked. Are you sure we need her?
Bridget: Yeah. Yeah. I-I feel like I need to explain myself from what I said earlier. Look, Nick, it-- the truth is a-a day hasn't gone by since we've been apart that I haven't wanted to be with you. And I do. I-I-I want you. I want to be in your arms tonight and make... love.
Bridget: You know when we kissed the other night? That--that feeling that I got when we were kissing...
Bridget: I want that feeling again.
Nick: Well, I guess that's Katie.
Nick: Well, I'll go let her in.
Bridget: Well, I'll be here. .
Stephanie: Well, this is quite a surprise... (laughs) and a very, um, intriguing idea. Eric, I-I've been too quick to blame Donna for what's happened. The truth is I pushed you away, and I failed over the years to make you understand how much I respected you and how much you meant to me.
Eric: You're being pretty hard on yourself.
Stephanie: Not really. The idea of coming back here and working with you and--and with the kids, that's--that's really lovely. It would mean that all that we shared over the years wouldn't be lost after all. you accept?
Stephanie: You want to shake on it or hug on it?
Eric: Oh, it's definitely a hug.
Stephanie: I know you're in love, but just remember there are some things that we shared together that can't be duplicated by Donna or anyone else.
Donna: Look here, Pam. You threatened my life, which I don't appreciate. Now I know you're just some frustrated old biddy trying to protect her sister, but let me make myself perfectly clear. I'm not afraid of you or your dog.
Pam: Well, you might not be afraid of me, but I know you're afraid of tiny. And with very good reason, Donna. Did I ever tell you about that fetish that he's got for trashy lingerie? Oh... (laughs) I'm sorry. Of course--silly me. Of course I did when I showed you how he chewed up yours. It's a good thing you weren't in those at the time.
Donna: No, that--that--that wasn't tiny. That was you. He only did what he was told.
Pam: Do you want to know something about me, Donna? All these years, I never married.
Donna: Yeah, well, it doesn't take a rocket scientist
Pam: I've been diagnosed as a borderline personality with bipolar disorder and occasional bouts of paranoia. But I can actually lead a relatively normal life, so long as I take these.
Donna: Yeah, I'm well aware that you're, um, on medication.
Pam: No, look, these capsules are amazing.
Pam: They're magic. They make Pammy happy. (Laughs) Pammy takes one of these in the morning, and she is all sunshine and light-- apron on, ready to bake. But if I don't take them, my mind goes places, deep, uh, dark places. If you don't back off, if you don't leave my sister and Eric alone, I'm gonna stop taking my happy pills again. And I will take you with me, Donna, to my deep dark places. You, Donna, will become my obsession.
Donna: You're a wacko. But you don't scare me.
Pam: Really? (Laughs) Well, thanks for the tea, Donna.
Nick: Thank you for coming over, you know, on such short notice.
Katie: Sure, no problem. So you and Bridget are getting reacquainted?
Nick: Yeah. Yes, reacquainted.
Katie: Good. I think that's great. I think that you deserve a woman who is completely committed to you. And Bridget is so loyal and--and--and c--
Nick: Katie, please. I know that you've been encouraging Bridget to try to rekindle something with me. So you don't have to give me a pep talk about her virtues.
Katie: Got it. You know, if you do, um, reconnect with Bridget, there's no turning back.
Nick: What is that supposed to mean?
Katie: Oh, come on. You're a smart cookie. If you walk up those stairs, you're walking away from Brooke, wh-which I think is a good idea. I think that's good for everyone. You just--you know how much Bridget cares for you, right?
Nick: And I care for Bridget. So thank you. Thanks.
Nick: Enjoy your night.
Katie: Yeah, you, too. My doctor told me something I never knew.
(Jazzy music playing)
Bridget: I'm glad you're back.
Eric: Now these are two of the dresses I was telling you about for the--for the fall collection I've been working very hard on. What do you think?
Stephanie: Well, I like them, but on the black dress, I think, um, the tiered layer should be a bit larger. It'll add, you know, more fullness to the, uh, to the skirt. And on this dress, I think, uh--I think the ruching around the bust should be increased.
Eric: Thank you.
Stephanie: You're welcome.
Eric: And thank you, ladies. That's all for today. See you tomorrow.
Stephanie: See you later, girls.
Eric: You always had a wonderful eye for detail. I appreciate it so much.
Eric: What's on your mind?
Eric: What are you thinking about?
Stephanie: Oh, I was just thinking that, uh, we've always complemented one another so well and still do. And I suppose in a silly way I was kind of wondering if, um, Donna weren't in the picture if we'd be together.
Eric: What you and I share cannot be erased. But Donna is here. She's a big part of my life. She and I are gonna be married.
Donna: Is someone there? Aaaaaaaaah!
