Nick: Well, I guess it's time to go get Jack. I just hope this doesn't send Taylor into some kind of a nosedive.
Brooke: She's so unstable, that could happen anyway. There's really no way to control it, but you know what will give you peace of mind? Knowing that Jack is here safe with you.
Nick: Yeah. Well, I guess I should go then.
Brooke: I'm gonna wait right here, okay? I'm really anxious to see our son. Get home safe.
Nick: (Softly) okay.
Phoebe: God, Mom, I had no idea what you'd been through. I wish you would have talked to me.
Taylor: Oh, I-I didn't want to burden you, okay? College life is stressful enough.
Phoebe: Mom, I want to help. What can I do?
Taylor: What you can do is go back to your dorm and start working on your midterms, all right? I don't need to be babysat. I'm going to be fine.
Phoebe: W-well, what happens next?
Taylor: (Sniffles) um, Nick is on his way over to pick up Jack.
Phoebe: Well, would you like me to be here?
Taylor: No, I-I think it would be better if I was here by myself. (Sniffles)
Phoebe: At--at least it's just temporary, until you're better.
Taylor: I don't know how I'm going to find the strength to let him go, but somehow I will. (Softly) I don't have any choice.
(Knock on door)
Rick: What are you doing here? Uh, where's Nick?
Brooke: (Sighs) come in. Uh, Nick went over to Taylor's house to pick up Jack. (Doorbell rings)
Taylor: Hi, Nick.
Taylor: I was waiting for you.
Nick: I never meant to hurt you.
Taylor: I know. I know--I know it's best. I needed a little more time to heal.
Nick: And you will.
Taylor: I know I will, not that I want to be separated from my son. (Scoffs) just that things have been really, really difficult for me lately, and I think I realize I've just been so angry and--and so resentful that... I almost forgot what it was like to love, but I-I do know that I love my son. I know that, and I-I just wanted to--to know if we could promise each other something-- if--if we could just agree not to argue or fight in front of him. I don't want to hurt him like that.
Nick: Yes, I agree.
Taylor: And would you also promise me that I can be a part of his life?
Nick: You are Jack's birth mother. He's here because of you. He'll always be a part of you, part of us.
Taylor: I gotta tell you, Nick, I... I am still so brokenhearted that I had to end this, but I do blame Brooke for that. I know it's over. I'm not fighting the divorce. It's just that things could have been so, so different for us, so wonderful, and I-I-I blame Brooke for that. If it wasn't for her, it would have been really different.
Rick: So Nick is at Taylor's picking up Jack?
Brooke: He just left before you got here.
Rick: It was quite the day, wasn't it?
Brooke: (Sighs) Look, honey, I know you've been supportive of Taylor through all of this, so if you want to talk about my testimony, then--
Rick: No, no, that's actually-- that's not why I'm here at all. I-I'm worried about Taylor and how she's gonna deal with this from here on out. I just want to help her, you know?
Brooke: The baby's welfare comes first.
Rick: I know that. I actually suggested to Taylor in the first place, that she keep her distance from Jack. She doesn't accept you as this baby's mother, and I don't--I don't think she ever will.
Brooke: Well, I hope you're wrong about that.
Rick: Do you?
Brooke: Yes, I do. I think it's terrible what's happened to Taylor. My heart goes out to her, honestly. I think she was dealt a bad hand.
Rick: Can I ask you a question? What's going on with you?
Brooke: With me?
Rick: Well, you're here at Nick's house, and you're supposed to be marrying Ridge, yet you're waiting here for Nick to come home with the child that you two share together.
Brooke: What are you suggesting?
Rick: Nothing. Your actions speak volumes.
Taylor: (Sniffles) So my, uh, my visits are supervised?
Nick: I'll be there for now.
Taylor: Brooke can see him alone, but I have to see him supervised? (Sniffles) (softly) Mommy loves you. (Sniffling) I love you so much. Mommy's gonna get better really soon, and then I'm gonna have you with me all the time.
Taylor: (Whispers) I love you. Don't ever forget how much I love you.
Taylor: (Normal voice) I'll miss you.
Nick: (Softly) I'm sorry.
Nick: Shh. Shh. Shh. Shh. Shh. Shh.
Taylor: (Whispers) it's okay.
Rick: I'm concerned about Taylor, Mom, but I want you to know I'm also concerned about you.
Brooke: You don't need to be concerned about me, sweetheart.
Rick: Look at yourself. Mom, y-y-you're standing here at--at Nick's place waiting for him to come home with--with the baby that you two share. I--
Brooke: Mm-hmm. Well, Nick needed a friend, and he's bringing Jack home, so I thought he might need some help getting him settled in.
Rick: Are you listening to what you're saying?
Brooke: I know what I'm doing.
Rick: Yeah, I think it's perfectly obvious what you're doing.
Brooke: What's obvious?
Rick: It's obvious that you're comfortable here, that you belong here with Nick and Jack and not with Ridge. Just promise me you'll-- you'll think about it, okay? I gotta go. I'll see you.
(Cabinet door slams shut)
Taylor: (Sniffles) hi. This is Taylor Hayes. Uh, well, ta--yeah, Taylor Forrester. Um, yeah, you've delivered to me a few times. Um, so yeah, you still have the address. Okay, um, could you deliver, uh, one of your premium vodkas here? Yeah. Okay, yeah, it's good talking to you, too. Okay, thanks. All right. Bye.
Brooke: Oh, there you are. I was starting to worry.
Nick: Ah, well, here we are.
Brooke: Oh, how's our little guy?
Nick: He's fine. He's fine.
Brooke: (Softly) I'm so glad to see you. (High-pitched voice) you look so handsome, you know that? (Gasps) yes, you do, just like Daddy.
Brooke: You got the same dimples right there...
Brooke: Just like Dad. Mm-hmm.
Nick: I think his are dimples. Mine are wrinkles.
Brooke: (Sighs) (softly) hello. You okay? Hmm? You've been so cute lately, so happy.
Taylor: What is taking so long? (Sighs) (doorbell rings)
Man: Delivery for the Forresters?
Taylor: Yes, that's us.
Man: I got one bottle of vodka here.
Taylor: Great. Thank you. Um, how much do I owe you?
Man: $34.60, ma'am.
Taylor: Um, okay, $40. You keep the change.
Man: Oh, thanks. Thanks a lot.
Taylor: Okay. (Sighs) (bag hits floor)
Taylor: (Sniffling) (teddy bear lands)
Rick: Don't you drink that.
Taylor: Why shouldn't I drink? I don't have anything left to be sober for. I took Alexandria's mother away from her. No wonder they took my child away from me. They call that karma. (Scoffs) you know, actually, the good news is, is that the poison is also the remedy. Booze started this whole thing, and booze is what's gonna make it go away.
Rick: Taylor, I know things seem dark right now, but there is a light, and we're gonna find it together.
Taylor: You can't help me. You can't fix this.
Rick: Well, who can? Steffy? No, she's studying at school. Thomas can't help you. He's working over in Europe, but I know-- I know Phoebe's here, and she wants to help you, but, Taylor, you need someone who knows what you need...
Taylor: What I need--
Rick: And somebody older, somebody stronger.
Taylor: No, what I need is a drink. That is the only thing that's going to help me right now.
Rick: Look, I understand that you're--you're--
Taylor: No, you don't understand anything! How can you possibly know what it's like to lose a child? You have no idea! I have lost everything-- everything. I don't have anything left to live for. I wanna make it stop!
Rick: Give it! (Grunts)
Taylor: Fine! Fine, I'll get another one.
(Bottle cap lands)
Rick: Come here.
Taylor: You can't stop me.
Rick: Just--just--come-- Taylor...
Taylor: Stop it!
Rick: I can stop you and I will. Listen to me. I know you're hurting, and you feel empty, but you have got to find something else to fill this void in your heart, and it cannot be alcohol!
Taylor: Stop it!
Rick: It cannot. Listen to me. Listen to me. You've worked your entire life to become the amazing person that you are today, and I am not gonna let you throw it all away.
Rick: Come here.
Rick: Just listen to me. It's gonna be okay. Everything is gonna be fine.
Rick: It's okay.
Brooke: (Cooing indistinctly) (softly) Those cute little feet.
Nick: You should see the way you are with him right now. This is our child. You're his mother. He needs his mother.
Brooke: (Normal voice) I'm committed, Nick.
Nick: I wanna do what's right for this child. I was born an only child, and I face that loneliness every day, and I don't want that for Jack. I want him to have a brother or sister. We can do that, Brooke. We can... create that family. It's not too late.
Brooke: What are you saying?
Nick: I'm saying that... I'm saying that I want you to stay here with us. I'm saying that I want this to be your family. (Knock on door)
Ridge: Hey, Logan. Come on. Let's get going.
Brooke: Oh, uh, hi. I just wanted to make sure that Jack was okay after everything that happened today. I should've called.
Ridge: That would have been nice. Uh, Bridget told me about everything. That's how I figured out where you were.
Brooke: (Sighs) I'm sorry. It was just such a big day for Jack. I wanted to be here for him.
Ridge: He looks all right to me. I'm sure Nick can take it from here. Let's go home.
Nick: Hey, Forrester. That door you walked through, that's mine, and what goes on in this house is up to me, and she'll leave when we've finished our discussion.
Ridge: So what's it gonna be? Are you staying or coming with me?
