Eric: That was a really close call last night, Donna.
Donna: Well, has Stephanie said anything?
Eric: No, no, she hasn't. I-I saw her earlier today, but she didn't say a thing. I think we got away with it. Just thank God nobody saw me out on that ledge.
Donna: Oh, honey, I was so worried about you. I mean, if you would have fallen, I just--I don't know what I would have done. I mean, it was just a little too close for comfort last night. We have to be more careful, okay? I mean, Stephanie is a scary woman. If she finds out, she will send Storm to jail.
Eric: Well, she's not gonna find out about it, all right? We're in the clear. We just need to let things cool down for a while.
Donna: Well, when am I gonna see you again?
Eric: Soon, honey. I promise. Yeah, well, I want to be able to sign off on that by the end of the week. Yes. Thank you.
Stephanie: Sweetheart, do you want some, uh, honey in the tea?
Eric: No, no, no, no, thanks.
Stephanie: Are you all right?
Eric: Yes, I'm all right. Look, I want to-- I want to tell you something. Um, yesterday I went over to Donna's apartment. Uh, I was gonna take her a-a Valentine's gift, and she, uh, kicked me out. She slammed the door in my face.
Stephanie: Well, that must have been very hurtful for you.
Eric: (Sighs heavily) It was a reminder to me of what kind of a woman Donna really is, that she's not the kind of woman I want to be involved with. And it reminded me of, uh, what a fool I've been to be chasing--chasing after such a young girl.
Stephanie: I know that's difficult for you to admit to me. Sometimes I think she's worse than Brooke.
Stephanie: Of course, if I thought that she was chasing you again, I'd shoot her.
Eric: Well, don't worry. My days of being a fool are over. (Sighs)
Eric: Oh, my God.
Stephanie: Eric, for goodness sakes.
Eric: Ohh, God, I'm just--
Stephanie: Are you all right?
Eric: I'm all right! I'm just clumsy as hell, that's all. I just--I'll get this here.
Stephanie: You need some help?
Eric: No, I've got-- I've got, uh, the paper, and I've got these napkins. Everything's all right. I got--sorry. Jeez.
Stephanie: Okay. Well, uh, I'm gonna go upstairs and do a couple of things before we go to the office.
Eric: Good. I mean, good, good.
Eric: Oh, my God. (Sighs) Ridge, thank God you're here. Look, I-I need your help.
Ridge: You referring to this?
Katie: What's that about?
Katie: You--you have this weird look on your face-- this, like, weird smile.
Donna: Me? Smile? I--
Katie: You're hiding something.
Donna: Look, if I told you, you would just get upset.
Katie: Well, I'll tell you what I am a little upset about. You kind of blew us off last night.
Donna: I did?
Katie: Yeah, we had a family meeting-- you, me, Brooke. Is any of this ringing a bell?
Donna: Oh, yeah, right. I-you know, I-I just-- it totally slipped my mind. I--
Katie: Obviously, since you never showed up. You never called.
Donna: Okay, why did you and Brooke want to see me?
Katie: Well, there's a lot going on in our family. I'm sure I don't have to tell you what I'm talking about.
Donna: Yeah, Katie, I know, but--
Katie: So we were a little anxious when we couldn't get ahold of you. You weren't answering your cell. I-you didn't show up. W-what was going on?
Donna: Katie, you are such a little worrywart. I mean, both you and Brooke --
Katie: Wh-wh-- there's no cause for concern, really?
Donna: Concern about?
Donna: Oh, come on. I'm not in the mood for games, really.
Donna: I'm not playing games.
Katie: Well, you're not giving me a straight answer.
Donna: Okay, I didn't realize there was a question.
Katie: Okay, here's a question. Where were you last night? What was so important that you couldn't meet with your sisters?
Donna: Something came up.
Katie: What is going on?
Donna: What are you talking about?
Katie: You--it-- you have this look like you-- like--like you've gotten away with something.
Donna: Are you accusing me of something?
Katie: Were you with Eric? Ohh, Donna, if you were with Eric--
Donna: You know what, Katie? I'm just really not in the mood for one of your lectures.
Katie: Well, I'm not in the mood for any of this. Were you with Eric?
Donna: You know, next time you have a boyfriend, I am gonna grill the hell out of you.
Katie: This is not about your boyfriend. This is about our brother's freedom.
Donna: Look, it's under control.
Katie: What is?
Donna: It's under control, so just-- will you just stop, okay? Can I-can I just relax, relax and just read the paper for a second, okay?
Katie: Sure. Fine.
Donna: (Sighs) ohh!
Donna: Oh, my God.
Katie: What? What is it? (Gasps) Oh, my God. Oh, my--is-- how can you and Eric be so idiotic?
Ridge: Naked on a window ledge. Real smooth, Dad. Mother told me she was suspicious you were still seeing Donna, but I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt. I was hoping she was wrong. Obviously she wasn't.
Eric: (Exhales deeply)
Ridge: (Exhales deeply) where is she, anyway? I'm surprised she hasn't cut your head off by now. Or is she over skewering Donna?
Eric: Hey, now. She hasn't seen the picture yet. Ridge, you gotta help me.
Ridge: I don't know how that's possible, Dad. It's a little late for that. There are probably a million of these floatin' around Los Angeles by now. Why don't you just come clean with Mother? She already knows you were seeing Donna before. Why--why do you continue playing this game?
Eric: Look, it's because I have to, Ridge. I have to. I have no choice. It's not just about seeing Donna. Your mother is blackmailing Donna. She's blackmailing Donna and the whole Logan family.
Ridge: Well, I don't know how the hell you're gonna get out of this. You're gonna have to send Mother to Tahiti to keep her from seeing this.
Eric: That's a great idea.
Katie: Ohh, how could you be so stupid? I mean, do you have no self-control?
Donna: Katie, do you think I'm happy about this? Yeah, I-I-I have no idea how the picture could have gotten in the paper. I mean--oh, my God, what if Stephanie sees this?
Katie: If? If Stephanie sees it? Have you seen this? It's a full-page spread. She can't miss it. I mean, I-I warned you about this. I warned you of the consequences, and yet you still did it. God, you couldn't keep your clothes on for five seconds, not even for our brother's sake. You know, it's not very bright thinking you can outsmart someone like Stephanie Forrester.
Eric: Tahiti. Yes. No, no, just the two of us. Mrs. Forrester and me, that's right. And I'd like to leave immediately. Yes. All right. Good, good. I'll see you soon.
Stephanie: Who was that, honey?
Eric: That was our pilot. I have arranged for a trip for you and me for today. We're going to Tahiti.
Eric: (Chuckles) Yes. I wanted to take us someplace where there are no distractions, just the two of us.
Stephanie: Well, I mean, that's a lovely surprise, sweetheart, but I don't think we can just drop everything and go off to Tahiti on a moment's notice.
Eric: Oh, well, we have to. I mean--I mean we have to. We have to repair our relationship, sort of get reacquainted with one another, don't you think?
Stephanie: Oh, I don't know. I mean-- okay. (Laughs) okay, let's go to Tahiti.
Stephanie: I'll go upstairs and pack a bag.
Eric: No, no, no, no, everything's been arran -- uh, it's been arranged already. We don't have time to do that. We have to leave right now.
Stephanie: Well, can I get the book that I'd like to finish maybe the newspapers, at least?
Eric: No, we don't need any newspaper. We have a lot to talk about, you and me. It's beautiful down there. I can't wait.
Donna: Okay, well--well, Stephanie isn't banging down the door, so--so maybe she hasn't seen the picture yet.
Katie: Well, it's only a matter of time. We have got to get Storm out of the country.
Donna: Look, we already begged him to go to Paris with Dad.
Katie: I know. He doesn't want to go. He wants to be here with us.
Donna: Oh, thanks, thanks. Just make me feel worse, okay?
Katie: We've gotta find a way to make him take off.
Donna: Where is he?
Katie: Oh, thank God you're here.
Storm: Everything okay here?
Katie: Uh, yeah.
Katie: We, um, you know, we've been thinking, and, um, we really think that it could be a really good thing for you to go to Europe and spend some time with Dad. In fact, you might even want to consider, like, you know, taking off today, now.
Storm: All right, what's up with you guys?
Katie: Nothing. It's just that we think that it would be best for you.
Storm: Best for me? And what? Leave my family behind? You guys have gotta be kidding me.
Donna: No, no, we're not.
Storm: What? You're in on this, too?
Donna: Stormy, I love you.
Storm: Well, I love you, too. I mean, what-- are you sure you want me to go to Europe? What--
Donna: Well, no, but, uh--
Storm: Well, then it's settled. I'm not going anywhere. I'm gonna stay right here.
Donna: You know what? I'm--I'm gonna make a phone call.
Storm: What's up with her?
Katie: It's a long story.
Storm: Well, do you feel like giving me the short version?
Katie: Not really.
Man: Great to see you again, Mr. And Mrs. Forrester.
Eric: Thank you.
Stephanie: Davis, Carly.
Carly: Nice to see you.
Stephanie: Nice to see you.
Eric: Hey. Thank you.
Davis: We've filed or flight plans with air-traffic control, so we should be on our way shortly.
Eric: Good. I appreciate you pulling this together so quickly. Thank you.
Davis: Not a problem. Not a problem at all.
Eric: All right. Good.
Stephanie: Thank you.
Carly: As soon as the flight takes off, I'll take care of what you requested, Mr. Forrester.
Eric: Thanks, Carly.
Stephanie: You're up to something, aren't you?
Stephanie: Thank you for doing this.
Eric: This is exactly what you and I need right now. (Exhales deeply)
Stephanie: Eric, um... (sighs) I don't want any secrets between us. I-from this moment, I just want complete trust and honesty. So I have something that I have to confess to you. I-I hired a private investigator. I'm not proud of it, but I did it. And... that's how I found out, you know, where Donna was, and--and I know that you took her a valentine's gift. I understand. And I mean, I realize you have to have closure with her, and I accept that. But I can see that you're ready to move, you know, on with--with our marriage and to try and heal it. (Exhales deeply) that makes me very happy. I also know that I can't compete with a beautiful young girl like Donna.
Eric: Donna Logan can't hold a candle to you, Stephanie Forrester.
Stephanie: Thank you. Thank you, Eric. I know, um, also, over these years that, uh, you think I don't respect you, but I do. I see in you all the style and the grace, and I know you... (sighs) I know you're a man that's honest, and you have great integrity. I mean, you've shown me today exactly what kind of a man you are. Well, this is so sweet of you to sweep me off to Tahiti. I just--I'm so grateful that you're my husband. You know, in my eyes, you're a prince, always will be. I'm just glad that-- well, I'm glad--I'm relieved that you got through this whole affair with her without a scandal. I mean-- I know she hurt you. And I know you think she made a fool of you, but no one can make a fool of you, Eric. (Cell phone rings) (rings)
Eric: It's the office. I'm gonna take this before we...
Eric: Before we take off.
Eric: Donna, hi.
Donna: Have you seen the paper?
Eric: (Sighs) Unfortunately, yes. Yes, I've seen it.
Donna: Oh, my God, what are we gonna do? I mean, if Stephanie sees that, Storm is going to jail.
Eric: All right, calm down. Now I'm not gonna let that happen.
Donna: But how?
Eric: (Sighs heavily) look, I'm taking Stephanie on a trip. We' e on the Forrester jet now. We're going to Tahiti. I'm gonna get her as far away from L.A. as possible.
Donna: Yeah, but what if somebody sees it and tells her about it?
Eric: Look, we'll--we'll come up with something. We will. Now listen to me. Storm is not gonna go to prison. I'm not gonna let that happen.
Carly: Mr. Forrester ordered a Bloody Mary for each of you.
Stephanie: Oh, how wonderful. (Laughs) Thank you.
Carly: How romantic of Mr. Forrester to whisk you off in an impromptu getaway.
Stephanie: I know. He's a very thoughtful person.
Carly: Uh, the pilot did inform me that we will be taking off momentarily. Can I offer you something to read?
Stephanie: Yes, I'll take the "Tribune." Thank you, Carly.
Eric: No, no, no, I don't want that. That's--that's too big. I want something small, out of the way, extremely remote, all right? Yeah, removed from every place. No phone, no Internet, no television, anything. Extremely remote. I want it completely cut off from everything, everything. All right. Yes. Thank you. Thank you. (Exhales deeply) you're not gonna see that picture, Stephanie. I'm gonna make sure of it.
Stephanie: Oh, my God. You son of a bitch.
Eric: All right, I just got off the phone with the travel agent. Everything's set. We have a wonderful little, uh--mmm--a little cabana out there on the water. No e-mail, no Internet, no phones, no TV, no nothing. Just you and me and the turquoise sea.
Stephanie: (Chuckles) Let's hope it's not so remote that we don't get the news and the newspapers.
Eric: Oh, I don't know. They may not even have a newspaper. You know, the whole idea is to escape from the world.
Stephanie: Escape--ah, yes.
Stephanie: You really put yourself out on a ledge for me, didn't you?
Eric: Don't you mean out on a limb? That's the expression-- "Out on a limb."
Stephanie: No, actually, I-I think "ledge" is the appropriate word. I know why you want to take me to Tahiti. You don't want me to see this.
Eric: (Sighs heavily)
Stephanie: You lied to me. You betrayed me. You made me believe that this thing with-- that this affair with Donna was over. (Scoffs) oh, Eric, I just sat here two minutes ago saying what a wonderful man you were. (Laughs) "You're so honest, so filled with integrity, so caring." It was just a charade. I thought that all our years together really did, in the long run, mean something to you. But you have just-- you've just played me for a fool.
Eric: Look, there's something I want to say.
Stephanie: There isn't anything that you could possibly say to me that would make it right. You never, never intended to work this marriage out, did you? Never. Everything that I dreamed and hoped for, you have just thrown it away. For what? For what? To be a naked old man shivering out on a window ledge in the middle of the night? Oh, my God. You've humiliated yourself. You've humiliated me, the children. (Sighs heavily) we've spent a lifetime-- a lifetime building this business, this family. And in one night, you have made us the laughingstock of this town. Are you proud of yourself?
Eric: (Inhales sharply) You know what, Stephanie? I think I actually am. Everything's different now. I've spent my whole adult life listening to you and worrying about what everybody else would think. Well, I don't care anymore. I don't care. I love Donna. The only regret I have is that you forced us to hide away from everybody as if we were ashamed of what we were doing. Well, I'm not ashamed, and I don't care who knows it. I don't care who sees that picture. That's the way I feel right now. I'm so tired of living with this ax over my head. Our marriage is over, Stephanie. I'm in love with Donna. And my future is with Donna. And you're just gonna have to accept it.
