Donna: I swear to God, I do. Using our love for our brother to get her claws back into her husband-- a man that doesn't even want to be with her.
Brooke: Still, if you don't go along with her--
Donna: Yeah, I know, I know. She will send Storm to prison.
Brooke: I know how much Eric means to you, and I hate to even ask this of you, but, sis, you will find somebody else-- another man.
Donna: That I love as much as Eric? No, sis. I will never love another man like that again.
Nick: Well, Jack went down like a trooper.
Taylor: Yeah, he had a very busy day.
Nick: Well, that's a nice bottle. What's the occasion?
Taylor: Well, your dinner got postponed. We have an evening to ourselves alone with no babies crying, no sounds, nice and quiet.
Nick: I'll drink to that.
Taylor: Is it worth the hype?
Nick: Nice body, great legs.
Taylor: So it'll go great with chicken, right?
Nick: I'd say so.
Taylor: Okay. You know, they say that after you have a kid, that, you know, the marriage is never quite the same after that.
Nick: They're right.
Nick: It just keeps getting better.
Taylor: That's right.
Storm: What happened? Why did Donna leave?
Katie: Oh, forget about that. I want to know why Stephanie was here. What's going on, does she suddenly want your forgiveness?
Brooke: Let's just say she's reconsidering.
Katie: What does that mean?
Brooke: I can't get into specifics right now, but if she does what I hope she will, then Dad will be released from prison and you won't be prosecuted.
Storm: Wait, wait, whoa-- wait a second. You honestly expect us to believe that Stephanie would take a bullet and then spare me?
Brooke: Stormy, leave this up to me, okay? Right now I just want you to go home, and I want you to get a good night's sleep, and hopefully all of this will be resolved by the morning.
Storm: All right. I'll give you some time.
Brooke: Okay, good. Good night. I love you.
Storm: All right, but do me a favor. Would you just-- don't let that pasta go to waste, okay?
Brooke: No, no, no. I'll eat it, okay? See ya.
Storm: Okay. Take care.
Katie: Stephanie is doing something for our family out of the goodness of her heart? I don't think so. What's really going on?
Stephanie: Hi, honey.
Felicia: You all right?
Stephanie: Yeah, I'm fine, thank you.
Felicia: No you're not. How could you be fine? I know that Daddy just gave you divorce papers.
Stephanie: Want some tea? It's good. It's a blend.
Felicia: Okay, what's going on here? You are being way too calm about this.
Stephanie: What do you mean I'm too calm?
Felicia: Because I know how much you care about him, and to lose him like this--
Stephanie: Sweetheart, I haven't lost your father, and I don't intend to.
Donna: Thank God they let me see you. I mean, I know it's past visiting hours, but something has--
Stephen: I know, I know. Stephanie was here, and I'm sure I don't have to tell you what she wanted.
Donna: Oh. She knows how you feel about Eric and me. She's gonna exploit that to her advantage.
Stephen: Well, that's our Stephanie, honey. Subtle as a tsunami.
Donna: Well, what did you say? You know what, maybe I don't even want to know.
Stephen: Now wait a minute, sweetheart, you can't possibly think I would go along with anything that woman wanted. Besides, your walking away from Eric isn't the only solution or even the best one.
Donna: Yeah, well, Brooke seems to think it is.
Stephen: Well, that's because she's desperate to save her brother, like I am-- like we all are. And we can do it if you just do like I say. You convince Storm not to come forward. Let me confess. That way, he stays out of prison, you stay with Eric.
Donna: Daddy, you don't even like him.
Stephen: No, but I love you. Now, sweetheart, nobody should be asked to make the choice you're being asked to, but there's Stephanie at it again, trying to manipulate our entire family, and I can't let her get away with it--I won't.
Taylor: So you agree it would be better sooner than later to get the christening done?
Nick: Yeah. After dinner we'll pick a day, find a calendar, pick a time.
Taylor: About the, um, Godmother, I-- I just-- I really don't feel very comfortable about Bridget after what, you know, she knew and then didn't tell me.
Nick: Oh, no, honey, please. I'm sure Bridget would completely understand.
Taylor: Right, just like she expected me to understand that whole egg mix-up story. You know what? Really, every time I think about that, the whole thing just sounds bizarre. Do you know something else about that?
Nick: Can we just finish dinner and drop this?
Taylor: Wait a minute. What do you know? It's okay, you can just tell me now. It's okay.
Nick: Do you remember when we found out you were pregnant? Brooke had come back from Sydney.
Taylor: Right, she was trying to get you back.
Nick: Which didn't happen, because I'm committed to you. But anyway, when she found out about your-- our situation, she had her eggs tested to see if...
Taylor: Wait a minute. Are you telling me that she had her eggs harvested-- not for scientific research, but to find out if she could have your child? Is that what you're telling me? She-- she thought she could win you back with that, didn't she? To give you the child that I couldn't.
Felicia: You know, I just came from Dad, and he's asked Donna to marry him.
Stephanie: I'm not surprised, but, of course, until I sign divorce papers--
Felicia: So that's what you're up to-- you're gonna fight it? Well, good, because the thought of having that bleach-blond blow-up doll as my stepmother--
Stephanie: Now--now don't get yourself so excited. You know, even if I sign divorce papers today, there isn't anything your father can do. I mean, he can't remarry for six months, and an awful lot can happen in the next six months.
Felicia: Fess up, mother. What are you up to?
Katie: Stephanie wants more that just your forgiveness, doesn't she?
Brooke: Yes. She wants Donna to break it off with Eric, and if she does, she'll go to lt. Baker, and she'll tell him a story that will exonerate Dad without Stormy's name ever being mentioned.
Katie: Oh, my God.
Brooke: I know, but you can't say a word to Stormy. This has to be Donna's decision.
Katie: What-- what are you talking about, "Donna's decision"? She has a chance to clear Dad and keep Stormy from going to prison. There's no decision. She needs to break it off with Eric right now--tonight.
Donna: Daddy, I love you for saying that, but who are we kidding? I mean, now that Stephanie knows Storm did it, there's no way she's gonna let you take the fall for it, and even if she-- even if she did, it could all backfire.
Stephen: So even if I confessed--
Donna: She could still go to Lt. Baker, and we'd all be nailed for obstruction of justice, and we'd all be paying for something that Storm did, and that's the last thing that he would want. I mean, maybe he should just go to the police and tell them everything and serve his time.
Stephen: No, no, no, no, honey, you don't want to see Storm in this place any more than the rest of us do.
Donna: Oh, God.
Donna: I can't send my brother to prison.
Donna: I mean, he's been a lifeline for us for so many years. But I can't let go of Eric, Dad.
Donna: Dad... Daddy, what do I do? Daddy, I don't know what to do.
Nick: Taylor, don't.
Taylor: Don't--don't what? Be furious because I know that Brooke was scheming behind my back to break us up? She was trying to have your baby so that you would leave me and go to her.
Nick: And I turned her down on the spot. I wanted a kid, but I wanted you more.
Taylor: Yeah, but still, look at the lengths she went to.
Nick: Honey, the truth is is it really doesn't matter now.
Taylor: It doesn't matter? Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? We're living in a house with the baby that she so desperately wanted up there, and she made me carry it. She manipulated me, and you're telling me it doesn't matter. It does matter, and you know it.
Stephanie: We're just going to have to see how things work out.
Felicia: But, mother, he proposed to her.
Stephanie: Honey, life is full of surprises. One minute you think you're down and out for the count, and then you're back up and in the fight again. Now Donna is smart, I just am going to count on the fact that she will do what's best for everyone.
Stephen: Oh, honey, I'm so sorry. You're being asked to choose between the brother you adore and the man who's come to mean so much to you.
Donna: No, Daddy, it's more than that. Eric proposed. He wants a life with me, Daddy.
Stephen: And you want one with him.
Donna: I know I can make him happy. I already do. I mean, he's like-- he's like a new man since we've been together, and now that he has his company, I mean, he's designing the best line of his career.
Stephen: Because of your support.
Donna: Something that Stephanie never gave him, and I know that she's just belittled him and wore him down, and it'll happen again. I mean, that's what I can't bear.
Stephen: Sweetheart, even if you break it off with Eric, it doesn't mean he's gonna go back to her.
Donna: I know. I know, but that's what his family wants, and she will use that to pressure him even more.
Stephen: He won't stand a chance.
Donna: I mean, am I just supposed to look at him and tell him it's over when I know that's his fate? Even thinking about it just tears my heart to shreds, Dad. No, Storm won't be in prison, but Eric will be in a worse prison.
Man: Time's up, Logan.
Stephen: One more minute.
Man: Let's go...
Stephen: One more minute, please.
Stephen: Honey, just do what your heart tells you. There's no right or wrong, okay? And just remember that I love you. I love you.
Donna: It's me.
Stephanie: Oh, Donna, how are you?
Donna: Cut the crap. I'm on my way over.
Nick: Honey, please, I need you to calm down.
Taylor: What I need is to have my head examined for believing Bridget. She lied to me. She led me to believe that whole lab thing was an accident.
Nick: It was an accident.
Taylor: It makes me sick. Really, the two of them were in the whole thing together. Brooke was asking Bridget to help her switch the eggs.
Nick: Bridget would never do that. Brooke would never ask her to.
Taylor: Oh, please, she has and she would do anything to get her way, and she would use Bridget-- her own daughter-- she would do that, and she got her way. She has your baby.
Nick: Honey, Jack is our child-- legally and in every other way. Brooke has moved on to Forrester. She's engaged to the guy.
Taylor: That's exactly what I'm saying. You told me that she started doing this when her and Ridge were on the rocks, all right? So guess what, when it happens again, guess exactly what she's going to do. She's going to come straight here, and she's going to remind you that the two of you have a child together. She's covered all of her bases. That's what she does. It's like a game of chess to her, and she likes to do this to mess with my mind.
Nick: But I love you. You are my future. I'm gonna ask you to be patient and stay calm, strong and committed.
Taylor: Okay, when you can tell me how I can do that when her biology is upstairs in the nursery-- really, look at that. She's insinuated her-- her presence in our home... now. She knew exactly what she was doing. She knew. And I hate her! I hate her!
Nick: This is our home, our marriage, our life and our son.
Nick: I am your husband.
Nick: And my life would mean nothing without you in it.
Stephanie: I just made some fresh tea, or would you prefer something stronger? Oh, all righty. Let's just dispense with the niceties and get right to the point. Your brother shot me, so he's going to end up in prison. I, on the other hand, am prepared to go to the police, make a statement that'll get your father set free. Your brother's name doesn't even have to come into this. That will leave your family intact. In return, I want you to leave my family intact. I want you to walk away from Eric, and leave absolutely no doubt in his mind that it's over between the two of you, is that clear?
Donna: Perfectly, if I give in to your blackmail, which I haven't.
Stephanie: It isn't blackmail. I believe it's properly called a quid pro quo. You get your brother's freedom. In return, I get Eric.
Donna: No. You are doing what you always do-- toying with people's lives. Meanwhile, the kindest, most dearest man is forced to come back to this mausoleum and share it with a bitter, angry woman like you. Talk about a fate worse than death. But that's what Eric was when we first started going out-- part of the walking dead. No drive, no passion, no enthusiasm for life. Being married to you sucked the very soul out of him, but I helped him find himself again, got his company back, made him realize the future could be wonderful without a shrew like you dictating his every move, which you're trying to do right now with me. You think you can use your strong-arm tactics and push me around, that I'm just some dumb sex kitten that'll cave in to your pressure? Well, I'm not caving. I'm not gonna send Eric back to the shell of existence that he had with you, because I love him too much. So you can take your quid pro quo and shove it, because Eric's mine, and he will remain mine, and there's nothing you can do about it, Stephanie. Not one damn thing.
