Brooke: Things are finally looking up for our family.
Katie: I'm just glad we're sticking together.
Storm: Yeah, and this time when something happens to you guys, can you let me know? Not after the fact, please?
Storm: I just want to be able to help.
Donna: Yeah, well, Stephanie is the one that needs help now.
Storm: Well, she's not gonna get any help from anyone in this room, that's for sure.
Brooke: She's not getting any animosity from us, either. No more! It needs to stop. And if Eric really has left her, she's not gonna be an issue anymore.
Storm: So you think he's really gonna pull the trigger?
Katie: He's tried to leave her before. She always manages to reel him back in.
Donna: Yeah, I'm--I'm sure she's not gonna make it easy for him.
Katie: But you feel good about it?
Donna: I thought so.
Storm: Well, it's taking him an awfully long time.
Donna: Okay, how long does it take to say good-bye?
Brooke: For a man as kind as Eric?
Eric: Well, look at this-- the Logan family in my office, even Storm. I'm surprised to see you.
Storm: Yeah, well, Donna had asked me to be here, so... here I am.
Donna: (Laughs) yeah, I, um, you know, was so excited I had to tell them all the good news.
Storm: Yeah, so do you have any good news for my sister?
Donna: Well, did you see Stephanie?
Donna: And... what happened? I mean, what did you tell her?
Eric: I told her our marriage is over and that my future lies with you.
Donna: Oh, God.
Brooke: Uh... and she accepted that? (Scoffs)
Eric: Mmm. Not very quietly, no.
Storm: Well, what does that mean? Did she make any threats or something?
Eric: No. She was, uh-- she was devastated.
Donna: Oh, you have a right to be happy, Eric. And you will be, I promise. Look, I know it was hard to tell Stephanie, but... you will never regret this choice that you made.
Stephanie: You didn't see me. I know I'm not supposed to be here.
Ridge: Dad said he was coming to find you. Did you talk?
Stephanie: Yes. He wants out of the marriage. You're not surprised, and I shouldn't be surprised either. I've only myself to blame and... others who shall remain nameless. I let him down. I've apologized to Brooke, but you know the truth is it doesn't matter whether I'm sorry or not. What happened can never be undone. It's so funny, honey. You know, I've always been able to... repair any mistakes I've made. Until now.
Ridge: Is that what Dad said? That he left you because of what happened to Brooke?
Stephanie: (Chuckling) He thinks this is all about Donna.
Ridge: Yeah, but he wants to be with her.
Stephanie: Right. You know, these were supposed to be our golden years. Our reward for all the hard work and the dedication. Some reward, huh? Well, at least your father's getting his.
Stephanie: Is it too late to repair our relationship, Ridge?
Eric: All right.
Donna: Come on, baby. Let's go. Can't do what I had in mind in front of y'all.
Brooke: Oh, w-wait a minute. (Laughing weakly) We need to get ready for the showing.
Eric: Yeah, I'm afraid we're gonna have to put off that celebrating until some time a little later.
Donna: Okay, fine. We'll have more to celebrate tomorrow.
Eric: There you go.
Stephen: And what are you all gonna celebrate?
Donna: Daddy. When Eric takes his bow tomorrow, I'm gonna be on stage with him. He's gonna announce to the world how he feels about me.
Stephen: Hm. And how does Stephanie feel about that?
Eric: I told her our marriage is over and that my future lies with Donna... and I've been thinking maybe with all of you as well.
Storm: What do you mean, all of us?
Eric: Our families have been intertwined, Storm, since before you were born. We share a lot of the same history here. Not all of it pleasant, I'll--I'll grant you, but we have a chance tomorrow to--to put all this bad blood behind us. This showing could be the beginning of a whole new era for Forrester Creations, and I'm hoping a new era for our two families as well.
Storm: You mean now that Stephanie's out of the picture.
Stephen: She wasn't the only problem.
Eric: No. No, she wasn't. But I have it on very good authority that our families have a lot more in common than we do things to fight about-- devotion and loyalty to our family name. Taking care of our sisters. Taking care of our siblings and our parents-- all the things that really matter, right here.
Storm: (Scoffs) At Forrester Creations.
Eric: Yes. I mean, Brooke has-- has been responsible for a huge amount of our success. And--and Katie and Donna have already come on board to help us continue that success. It would be an honor for me to welcome you on board as part of our legal team.
Storm: Let me guess. No hard feelings.
Eric: You did wonderful work for Nick Marone while he was running this company.
Storm: Yes, I did. I did good work stickin' it to you. (Laughs)
Eric: Yeah. Yeah, you did. It only proves that you're a wonderful attorney. That goes without saying. You're even-- you're an even better brother, though. The way you've taken care of your sisters here-- that says more about your character than anything nick Marone could have asked you to do.
Stephen: Well, what about me, Eric? Don't you have a job for me, too, maybe something back in Paris?
Eric: I understand, Stephen, that it might be a little difficult for you to accept any olive branch from me.
Stephen: What is difficult is seeing my family all gathered around you, knowing you had a greater presence in their life than I ever had. They grew up without me, and they suffered for it, and I suffered, too, but here I am. I'm back. I'm trying to repair some of the damage, and here you are trying to take them away from me once again.
Stephanie: You can't stay mad at me forever.
Ridge: Oh, no?
Stephanie: Honey, Eric can divorce me, but I will always be your mother.
Ridge: You're also the one who deliberately put the woman I love in harm's way. Look. I know that sounds kind of brutal, but there are a lot harder realities to deal with here.
Stephanie: I can't even begin to imagine what she went through.
Ridge: What's she's going through, mother. She says she's all right. She might even believe that at times. When she's around me, around the kids, she's okay, but all it takes is some little sound or some unexpected knock on the door, and she's right back there again. You say you're sorry. I know that, but like you said, sometimes "sorry" just isn't enough.
Stephanie: Forgiveness is something that has to be earned.
Ridge: Yeah, if it's even possible, and right now I'm not so sure it is.
Stephanie: Well, I'm not going to interfere in your relationship with her, but I'm certainly not going to just disappear. I'm not gonna crawl off into some cave or curl up in a snowstorm and die.
Ridge: Nobody says you will.
Stephanie: That's what your father thinks. That's what this whole choice thing is all about tomorrow-- this ridiculous thing parading Donna out here. He thinks that'll be putting me in my place and that I won't be able to face it.
Ridge: Face what?
Stephanie: All the embarrassment, the humiliation, questions from the press. He thinks I won't come to the showing tomorrow if he marches that little tart out on the stage.
Ridge: It's a mistake if you show up.
Stephanie: I'll stay in the background.
Ridge: Mother, it's a bad idea. If you come to that showing tomorrow, you're gonna regret it. . Alli has been a life-changing experience for me.
Eric: Don't misunderstand me, Stephen.
Donna: He's not trying to take us from you, Dad.
Storm: Well, that's true. You can't take away what you never had.
Eric: Look. Your family has made huge contributions to the success of this company. I just want to give them the respect they deserve.
Stephen: This is your business, not ours.
Eric: Well, it's my name on the building, but it was a Logan who got me back in the door, and another Logan who made this company's name a household name, and another Logan who's gonna get us back in the spotlight right where we belong.
Stephen: So that's what my girls have done for you. What are you gonna do for them?
Eric: I'm gonna respect them, Stephen, and the contributions they've made here. The same respect I will give you if you agree to come on board.
Stephen: Well, you'll forgive me if I'm a bit wary of Forresters bearing gifts.
Brooke: I think it sounds like a very generous offer.
Stephen: Honey, I don't need a job.
Brooke: Dad, this isn't about the business. This is about two families coming together and getting past their troubled history and making something good come out of it. I mean, that's what I've always dreamed about-- to have the kind of connection that Ridge has had with his family.
Storm: Oh, you don't think we have a connection?
Brooke: I think that we've spent much too much time trying to bring Stephanie down. We need to focus on something a little more positive.
Stephen: Like making Eric Forrester's business a success.
Brooke: No, by learning how to rely on each other, how to trust each other, and what better place to do that than right here at Forrester Creations?
Eric: Look. Why don't you all go down to the showroom? Donna, show them everything we have planned for tomorrow, okay? Tomorrow's a chance for us to show the world that the crisis and turmoil in this building is finally over.
Stephanie: I'm coming here tomorrow, and I don't care about legalities.
Ridge: Neither do I.
Stephanie: You're worried that I'll cause a scene.
Ridge: Are you planning to cause a scene?
Stephanie: No. Ridge, please, I founded this company with your father. I've been here since the beginning.
Ridge: Mother, it's Dad's moment.
Stephanie: It always has been his moment. It's just this time he wants to share it with Donna, and the truth of the matter is it's not his triumph alone. You and Thorne and Felicia have worked really hard. I'd like to be here to applaud your success when you take your bows.
Ridge: Well, thank you. I appreciate that, but I think we'd all be just as happy if you just applauded us from some spa somewhere.
Stephanie: Oh, come on. I'm not gonna fall apart because your father is fawning over another blonde. I've been through that more times than I care to remember. This is Eric we're talking about. He's addicted to the grand gesture. This is not the last time I'll have to endure this kind of a public display on his part.
Ridge: Why would you want to torture yourself?
Stephanie: I just have to be there.
Ridge: I have to get back upstairs.
Stephanie: I know. Okay. Go, go.
Ridge: Wanna talk about it?
Eric: You heard?
Eric: Your mother called you?
Ridge: So your marriage is over?
Eric: We're getting a divorce.
Ridge: Does Donna know?
Eric: I just finished telling her whole family.
Ridge: No champagne? No confetti?
Eric: It wasn't like that. Your mother and I have been together for a long time. She's a hard woman to leave. Unfortunately, she's even more difficult to live with.
Donna: Stage has a riser, and that's where Eric and I will be standing.
Stephanie: (Clears throat)
Donna: What the hell are you doing here?
Stephanie: More to the point, what the hell are you doing here? Gentlemen.
Eric: Your mother and I have ended our marriage before, I realize that, but this time it's different, and I'm not sure why, but it's different.
Ridge: Because mother never accepted the blame before.
Eric: She never gave me the last word before either. I was kind of holding my breath waiting for the other shoe to drop, you know?
Ridge: Yeah, about that.
Eric: Look. I'm not regretting my decision. My future is with Donna. I'm sure of that.
Ridge: That's the real reason--because of Donna?
Ridge: Mother thinks it's because of what happened to Brooke.
Eric: I've chosen Donna, Ridge. I love her.
Ridge: Mother also doesn't believe that.
Eric: She can believe what she wants. I know what I feel.
Ridge: So you're really gonna start all this by taking Donna up on that runway tomorrow?
Eric: Yes, that's what I want to do. May I count on your support?
Ridge: Yeah, you've got it.
Eric: Thank you. It means a lot to me. Ridge, it's all coming together. Come on. Our showing tomorrow, you and Brooke, Donna and me, the Forresters and the Logans.
Ridge: Oh, I don't know if I'd go that far, Dad.
Eric: All right, all right. Maybe not yet. Maybe it's too soon, but it's a possibility. My God. For decades, this building has been the epicenter of the conflict between our two families. I mean, it's just been a battleground here. But all that's gonna change tomorrow. It's a new day for Forrester Creations, and we're gonna make this company something it's never been before, and I'm gonna be certain that the Logan family get the acceptance and the respect that Stephanie never gave them.
Donna: You've been banned from this building, Stephanie. Katie, go get security.
Stephanie: I may not be part of the company at this moment, but it is still part of me.
Donna: Oh, boo-hoo. You know, just go home. We have work to do.
Stephanie: I'll be at the show tomorrow.
Donna: No, you won't.
Stephanie: You really think there's anybody in this building that can keep me out?
Donna: I will not let you ruin this showing for Eric and me.
Stephanie: I will be here, because I belong here.
Donna: Yeah, well, you know what? Not as of today, because you are no longer matriarch of the family. You're just the jealous ex-wife.
Stephanie: Eric and I aren't divorced.
Storm: Well, not yet.
Donna: You know, I don't even know why we're talking about this. I mean, he already told you what he's going to do. Tomorrow we're gonna be on stage, and he's gonna tell everyone that we're in love.
Stephanie: You're in love, all right, with his money and his fame, and you don't give a good-- you know what-- about him or about what that announcement will do to this company-- my company--our company.
Stephen: It is not your company.
Donna: You know, Eric wants to celebrate with every single person in this room but you, Stephanie. He wants the Logans to be as much a part of Forrester Creations as his own family.
Stephanie: Over my dead body.
Brooke: Stephanie, please, don't make this more difficult on yourself. Who knows what the future will hold for Eric and Donna, but the fact is, tomorrow is Donna's big day. Eric has made that decision. Now you need to respect it. You need to respect yourself.
Stephanie: I won't interfere in your life if you don't interfere in mine.
Stephen: Okay, Stephanie. Just leave our family alone, Stephanie. Eric doesn't want you here. Neither do we. If you come to this show tomorrow--
Stephanie: What, you'll throw me off a balcony? I belong here, Stephen, because I founded this company with my husband. Unlike you, I have always been there for my children, and tomorrow they'll be here for me.
Stephen: Oh, they'll be here, but you won't.
Stephanie: I'm gonna do whatever the hell I want to do.
Stephen: Not anymore, Stephanie. You've gotten away with it far too long. You've belittled my children. You've cause them pain, so now I'm warning you-- don't come to this showing, and don't try and disrupt Donna's moment tomorrow, because if you try, I will stop you.
