Donna: I can't believe it. You really feel that way?

Eric: Yeah. Iím in love with you.

Donna: Oh. How did I get so lucky? (Laughing)

Eric: I don't know. Oh, you know, all the achievements in the world-- they're not worth anything if you don't have somebody wonderful to share them with. There's a wonderful new beginning, you know, for everybody, Taylor , Brooke but most of all for you and me. It's a whole new line for Forrester. It's a whole new era for this company, and there's this new wonderful, wonderful woman at my side.

Donna: All I want is for you to be happy.

Eric: Yeah? I am. All that's left is for me to, uh... to go tell Stephanie.

Donna: Would it be wrong of me to wish you good luck?

Eric: No.

Eric: Okay.

Ridge: Hey, Dad. Can I see you a minute?

Eric: Yeah.

Ridge: Has to do with the showing tomorrow.

Eric: All the details have been finalized.

Ridge: Not all the details. You're intending to make a decision here between Mother and Donna.

Eric: Look, I don't want to talk about that right now.

Ridge: Look, would you consider at least waiting until after the show, give yourself a little more time to think this through?

Eric: I don't want to drag this thing out, Ridge. Neither Stephanie or Donna deserves that.

Ridge: Dad, it's better to make them wait at least than to make a rash decision. Look. Mother's involvement in Brooke's rape really hit you hard. It hit me hard, too, but Brooke is not out for revenge, and neither am I.

Eric: You think that's why I'm seeing Donna?

Ridge: I just don't want you to make this decision based on anything but what you want. If you make this decision totally on what you want, I will respect that.

Eric: Thank you. I appreciate that. Look, I'm going to see your mother. I don't know how long I'll be gone. I have my cell phone if you need me.

(Donna remembering)

Stephen: And what about Stephanie?

Eric: Stephanie and Iare separated.

Stephen, I'm in love with your daughter.

Donna: Oh! Come in, come in.

Katie: What is going on? Is it an emergency, or wh--

Donna: I have the most incredible news. Eric loves me. He loves me! He wants me in his arms at the fashion show.

Brooke: Oh, really? Wow. Congratulations.

Donna: Isn't that incredible?

Katie: I'm thrilled that you're so happy, and I don't want to rain on your parade, I just-- we should think of this from a P.R. perspective. We're really trying to promote a positive image for Forrester Creations and keep the focus on the collection. Are you sure that this is the right time?

Donna: Duh! Yes, of course, I'm sure.

Katie: Walking down the runway with eric during his family's big comeback-- this could backfire on us big-time. If nothing else, it's gonna distract from the clothes, and think about what it's gonna do to his family. Thorne and Felicia are not gonna be happy.

Felicia: Oh, you're killing me. No way. If their name is not on the list, they're not getting in.

Jake: You don't want the seats too close. These lights-- they're gonna get hot.

Thorne: Okay. I'll be right back.

Jake: Yeah.

Thorne: Is this about ready?

Felicia: Gettin' there. Is that Jake mclaine?

Thorne: Yeah, he's working here again.

Felicia: That's not a problem for you?

Thorne: That's water under a very old bridge, okay? He did ask about you.

Felicia: My plate is full right now with work and Dominick. Ex-boyfriends are very low on the priority list.

Thorne: Mm-hmm.

Ridge: How we doing here?

Felicia: Press is chomping at the bit.

Thorne: Yes, and, let's see. Rick and Ashley are ready with the lineup. The only question is Mom and Dad.

Ridge: Well, Dad's on his way over to the hotel right now.

Felicia: That's great.

Ridge: I'm not so sure about that.

Felicia: No, it's their ritual-- good luck martinis the night before the show. Mom's gonna be here tomorrow, where she belongs.

Stephanie: I just thought you might come by. Please. I had them bring up the makings for martinis.

Eric: Our tradition.

Stephanie: Well, isn't this how we've always spent the night before a show? You know, savoring the moment, great anticipation. I'm glad that tonight isn't any different.

Ridge: Felicia, I don't think we should get our hopes up. I don't know what Dad's decided.

Thorne: Why? Did you get a bad vibe?

Ridge: Yeah, Thorne, I did.

Felicia: Dad will not throw away all of those years of marriage on Donna Logan. That's absurd.

Ridge: Well, I think he may have done that already, and I think that's what he's telling Mother.

Felicia: Well, then we have to go over there, and we have to talk to him.

Ridge: No, Felicia, it's too late.

Felicia: You tried?

Ridge: No, I didn't try.

Felicia: So you just let him go?

Ridge: Look, if he wants to be with Donna--

Thorne: Look. He cannot bring Donna to this showing. It will humiliate Mother.

Felicia: We'll be an international joke.

Thorne: Yeah, and the woman I almost married cannot be my stepmother.

Felicia: I gotta call him.

Ridge: No, Felicia, don't do that.

Thorne: We gotta do something, Ridge.

Ridge: Look. We gotta respect his choice. It's his life. He never got in the way of our happiness, did he? So why should we get in the way of his?

Donna: If Eric's children really love him, they'll want him to be happy, and he is.

Katie: Okay. I'm not debating that, but let's be realistic. You almost married thorne. Don't you think he's gonna have a little tiny problem with this?

Donna: Okay, fine. I regret using thorne for revenge, but I am grateful that you stopped the wedding before I went through with it. I mean, if you hadn't spoken up, I wouldn't be planning my future with this incredible guy--

Katie: Oh, no, no. I don't want any credit for that, thanks.

Donna: Katie, I'm trying to thank you. Jeez, you're the one who said to hold out for love, and I didn't get it, but now I do. "Good enough" isn't good enough. Yeah, everyone deserves something great. Now I've got it.

Brooke: And so does Eric.

Katie: Well, I guess he's a lucky guy.

Both: (Giggling)

Stephanie: Well, tell me all about it. I mean, I know technically I'm--I'm not supposed to be part of it.

Eric: It's my show.

Stephanie: It always has been, Rric. But this show has to be your biggest success. I think it will be.

Eric: I hope so.

Stephanie: I just hope you'll keep your eye on one very important thing-- the show. It means everything. It's so important, you know, to you, to the success of the company, and I just think that perhaps if you, you know, go forward with making some sort of, you know, public choice between Donna and me, it'll be just a distraction. Eric, it's not what the public and the press are coming to see. They're coming to see you. You-- the designer par excellence, the man who's back finally at the helm of the company that he created, that he made such a success. You know, the rest of it all we can work out later, as we always have.

Stephanie: What?

Eric: I'm sorry, Stephanie.

Stephanie: What do you mean?

Brooke: Oh, I'm so glad my sisters are back together again. Stormy, what are you doing here?

Storm: I just ran into Dad. He told me something I didn't know about you. Something that happened. Is it true--were you?

Storm: (Exhales sharply) I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Why didn't you tell me?

Brooke: No.

Storm: Why did i have to hear it from Dad?

Brooke: I-I-I couldn't tell anybody. I couldn't. Not at first.

Storm: What do you mean? Before you found out Stephanie was involved? Look, Brooke, listen to me. She needs to be in prison. I'd really like you to press charges against her.

Donna: Stephanie is getting the punishment she deserves.

Storm: How?

Donna: Eric is leaving her.

Storm: So what's that got to do with this?

Katie: Because of what she did to Brooke, he can't stay with her.

Donna: He's telling her right now. He's leaving Stephanie for me.

Felicia: Dad's getting ready to make the second-biggest mistake of his life, and you want us to just accept it?

Thorne: Second-biggest?

Felicia: Donna Logan, Sheila Carter...

Thorne: You see, Ridge? How many times has Dad been let down by Mother, and how many times has he walked away? It never worked out.

Felicia: They belong together.

Ridge: You know who you sound like right now?

Felicia: They're both gonna end up getting hurt.

Ridge: Maybe so, and it probably won't be very good for the company either, but that's all Dad's call.

Thorne: So you're going to support him on this?

Felicia: Yeah, because of what happened to Brooke. Mother showed a side of herself I didn't particularly want to see. I think Dad feels the same way.

Felicia: Mother did not violate Brooke. Andy Johnson did.

Ridge: Look, Felicia, I know you want to stand up for Mother, but--

Thorne: But what, Ridge? So she should lose everything that she cares about-- her husband, her business, her family?

Felicia: She's our mother, Ridge.

Ridge: And I love her. I'm sure in some way Dad still does, too, but at sompoint you have to make a decision on what's acceptable here. What Mother did to Brooke was way over that line. Her obsession took everything way over the edge.

Stephanie: I made a terrible mistake, but it doesn't have to end our marriage like this.

Eric: It's been over for a long time now, Stephanie. Maybe even longer than I realized.

Stephanie: I should have left Ridge and Brooke alone--I know.

Eric: I didn't come here to make you grovel.

Stephanie: No, you never have done that, and believe me, I realize now the strength it took on your part.

Eric: I just wanted you to hear it from me.

Stephanie: Eric, you know, what you said about my relationships with the children and not being able to let go-- that's true.

Eric: That's no longer the issue.

Stephanie: But that's why. I mean, I became obsessed with Ridge, and I see that.

Eric: I'm glad you do, but it doesn't change anything between you and me.

Stephanie: But I've apologized to Brooke. I've begged her to forgive me, and I realize--look. I realize it can't repair the marriage overnight, Eric--

Eric: Stephanie, I'm in love with Donna.

Felicia: What happened to Brooke was horrible, but before you put it all on Mother, I just wish you would stop and think about all the indignities she's suffered because of Brooke. She lost her company. She lost her husband, both of her sons.

Ridge: You're comparing this to what Brooke's been through?

Felicia: I'm just saying that she's-- she's had a lot of issues to deal with--a lot-- and I think they've changed her, yeah.

Thorne: She's not the same woman she was when we were kids, Ridge.

Ridge: Yes, she is, Thorne. She's exactly the same. She's still treating us all like we can't do anything. Why are we even debating this? You cannot excuse the inexcusable.

Thorne: Well, maybe Dad can forgive her...

Felicia: If we talk to him.

Ridge: Look. If Dad is miserable, he's got a right to move on.

Felicia: No, he's not miserable. He's disillusioned. You said it yourself-- the love is still there.

Storm: Eric's really leaving Stephanie for you?

Donna: At the end of the fashion show, I'll be the one on his arm.

Storm: (Scoffs) God, Donna! Wha--am I supposed to be happy about this?

Donna: Storm, I am.

Storm: What the hell? Why didn't I know anything about this? I mean, growing up, I was the first one that everybody talked to. I was the first one that everybody came to, and now--

Brooke: We didn't mean to exclude you.

Storm: I know. I know, but you told him.

Brooke: Well, that wasn't my intention. I knew how Dad would react when he found out what happened to me, and Stephanie's involvement. I didn't want to set him off.

Storm: Okay, but Dad can't do anything to Stephanie. You can. You can file charges.

Brooke: No.

Storm: Please, Brooke, think of all the hateful things she's done to you. Don't you want to pay her back for all the abuse she's heaped on you? This has been going on for years.

Katie: We found the gun that she gave you when she suggested you might want to use it on yourself.

Brooke: In my safe?

Storm: Why didn't you give it back to her?

Donna: Yeah, maybe she can use it on herself.

Katie: Brooke, you really shouldn't have a gun in the house-- not even in a safe.

Storm: Look. I hope you don't mind, but I took it back to the office so your assistant could give it back to her. It's in your desk drawer.

Brooke: Sweet stormy. You're still looking out for me. We do depend on you. You know that?

Storm: Yes.

Donna: But you're right, storm. Stephanie can't hurt us anymore. She's out, and we're in.

Stephanie: You are not in love with Donna.

Eric: She makes me happy.

Stephanie: And what about the children? What about me? The family-- we're just gonna be ridiculed.

Eric: I've explained my position to the children.

Stephanie: And what are they supposed to say to their friends, to the press?

Eric: If there are questions, I'll answer them.

Stephanie: Eric, if you step on stage with that girl, that's all that anybody will talk about. The value of the collection will fly right out the window. All the work, the effort you've put into it will be for absolutely nothing. Oh, my g-- this is so typical of you. It's so adolescent and so selfish on your part.

Eric: I'm going to go.

Stephanie: I won't take you back.

Eric: I don't want to go back, Stephanie. I don't like the man I am when I'm with you.

Stephanie: Really? Well, don't you think that I would like to walk away from my mistakes and have a tawdry little fling, little dalliance? But I don't. I'm sorry. Okay. I was wrong. I'm wrong. I know this did not just start with your involvement with Donna, but part of it is, you know, when you have children, they're your number one priority, and they should be. You need to take care of them and love them and cherish them. The mistake is when they grow up and they go away, you're supposed to let go, and you're supposed to bring your attention back-- your love back-- to your husband. I didn't do that. I didn't let that happen, and I'm sorry.

Eric: I'm not punishing you. I want to be free.

Stephanie: I guess you've wanted that for a long time, haven't you?

Eric: It's just the way things have to be.

Stephanie: Eric, wait, please.

Eric: I don't want to. I'm not gonna stay here and stand here and listen to you say the things that I've wanted you to say to me for years.

Eric: It's too late.

Stephanie: I'll never believe that.

Eric: I tried, Stephanie. I tried more than anybody ever has, and I can't anymore.

Eric: I will always love you.
