Brooke: (Sighs contentedly) You know, I think back to when we met, how we used to sneak off and go down to the beach, walk hand in hand by the ocean while the sun was setting. It was just so perfect. I felt like we were the only two people in the world. And that's how I feel right now-- you, me and this one perfect moment that I wish would last forever. Is that selfish?
Ridge: (Inhales deeply) It's human. We're human... I think. (Laughs)
Ridge: We've made mistakes. We've hurt, been hurt. But loving each other-- it's the one thing we've always done exactly right.
Brooke: So we really get to spend the rest of our lives with each other?
Ridge: Hey, we've waited a lifetime to get to this point. We're not waiting one second longer.
Ridge: Besides, we have a little boy to consider here. R.J. deserves this. So does Hope.
Brooke: I know you don't want to hurt Ashley.
Ridge: That's the one thing I regret in all this. I made promises to her and her little... Abby, promises I fully intended to keep.
Brooke: She will understand, Ridge. Maybe not now, but eventually.
Ridge: I hope so. It's gonna be rough on her and Abby. It's the last thing I ever intended to do.
Ashley: Yeah, I know. I know. I'm so glad Uncle Jack is all right, too, honey. I missed you. I can't wait to see you. Okay. Okay. I'm gonna see you real soon. Bye, honey.
Ashley: Hey. Hi, Ridge. It almost went to voice mail. Did I catch you in the middle of something?
Ridge: Hey, Ashley. You're home.
Ashley: Yeah, and I'd love to see you. I think we're gonna have the house to ourselves for a little bit. Can you get away?
Ridge: I'll be right over.
Brooke: (Sighs) It's okay. I've gotta go pick up the kids anyway. Look, I know this is hard for you. You had something special with Ashley. But, Ridge, this is where you belong. This is what's meant to be.
Donna: Is it safe? Did Stephanie leave? Well, I don't see her broomstick anywhere, so she must've. Look, I-I know how difficult this is for you, Eric, but, um, please, just don't-- don't keep me hanging. What happened? Is your marriage over? For your sake, I hope it is. Ohh.
Stephanie: I'm not going anywhere.
Ashley: I'm coming.
Ashley: Hi. Don't say anything. Mmm.
Ashley: Something tells me we won't be opening that bottle I brought back.
Ridge: Ashley, I am... very, very sorry.
Ashley: Ohh. Well, I gave you an ultimatum-- Brooke or me. So I guess you did what I asked, right-- took some time to think about who you really wanted? If you think I'm gonna congratulate you and wish you and Brooke the best, you're gonna be waiting for a hell of a long time.
Ridge: (Sighs heavily)
Donna: This company and that chair are off-limits to you, Stephanie.
Stephanie: According to this agreement anyway.
Donna: Purchase agree--
Stephanie: I've been perusing it.
Donna: Don't waste your time.
Stephanie: Very, very clever of you-- inserting the clause that in order to get control of the company, Eric has to divorce me.
Donna: I had nothing to do with that.
Donna: That was Nick. He wanted you out of Forrester Creations forever.
Stephanie: (Chuckles) Be that as it may, it's unenforceable. And I'll bet you $50 Marone's overpriced ambulance chasers knew that right from the beginning.
Donna: Now do you really think that'll make a difference to Eric? He's a man of his word, which he gave to Nick and Jackie.
Stephanie: He gave to Jackie? I wonder if she really believes he's a man of his word. I mean, after all, he broke his word to her when he didn't marry her and he married me again.
Donna: (Scoffs) Oh, please. Everyone thought Felicia was dying. Eric came back for his daughter's sake, not because he couldn't live without you. And you deluded yourself into thinking otherwise, well, it just shows how desperate you are.
Stephanie: (Laughs) This from--this from the girl who went after a married man while his wife was out of town.
Donna: Wow, talk about selective memory. And you make it sound like you were in India feeding the poor, when the truth is you had no choice but to leave L.A. After knowing how Eric and Ridge felt about you, what you did to my sister.
Stephanie: I did-- for the 50,000th time, I-I did not do anything to your sister.
Donna: If you'd stayed out of her life, there wouldn't have been a rape. But at least now Brooke and Ridge are closer than ever, finding their way back to each other. And Eric and I-- well, you know, it hasn't all just been sex.
Stephanie: (Laughs) Okay.
Donna: Though, when a man has gone that long without, who can blame him for being insatiable?
Stephanie: Oh, honey, please. You're just a little sex toy to him, nothing more.
Donna: Wrong. I listen to him-- how he thinks, how he feels-- something you could never be bothered to do. I'm the partner that he wishes he always had, and--and now he does, which leaves you out in the cold. You know, you should've accepted Brooke when I asked you to, because if you did, none of this would be happening. But now you got me to deal with. And I ain't goin' anywhere either.
Brooke: (Sighs) I made us some coffee.
Katie: Thank you.
Brooke: (Giggles) You're welcome.
Katie: So I came by earlier, and I saw that Ridge was here. I figured you two needed some time alone.
Brooke: Oh, yeah.
Katie: So I decided to hang out with Thorne.
Brooke: Speaking of which, what's going on between you two? You like him, don't you?
Katie: Of course, I like him. Everybody likes Thorne. He's one of the good guys.
Katie: What? (Scoffs) I'm sorry. It's just weird. You're back with Ridge. I'm seeing his brother. Donna's sleeping with his fath--
Brooke: What? Wh -- you're not talking about-- you mean Donna and Eric?
Katie: Yeah, I'm afraid so. (Laughs) I know. And if you and I are reacting like this, can you imagine--
Brooke: Imagine what Stephanie will do when she finds out.
Katie: Oh, no, no, no, not when. She knows, which spells big trouble for our sister.
Stephanie: (Laughs) Donna Logan is going to be Saint Joan to Eric Forrester's dauphin. That's pretty laughable, honey.
Donna: Fine. Keep underestimating me. It's your funeral.
Stephanie: Not if I get my hands around that scrawny little neck of yours first, so to speak.
Donna: Now you see, you just keep proving my point. Eric is such a dear, decent man, and he deserves so much more than a bitter, frigid nag.
Stephanie: (Chuckles) As opposed to you, whose only two assets aren't even real.
Donna: If you're insinuating that I had a boob--
Stephanie: Oh, come on, honey, the sales tag on those are still wet. I'm sure, like this mannequin, if I took a pin and punctured, it would pop--pssss.
Stephanie: My husband requires something quite different in a woman. He really needs someone who's sophisticated and refined. And you, my little silicone baby, are not that and never will be.
Donna: Don't be so sure.
Stephanie: Let me ask you something, Donna. Have you two been out and about, gone to the country club, gone dancing, wining, dining around town? No, you haven't, have you? He's not going to take you out in public. You're fine in the bedroom, and that's as far as it's going to go. I know.
Ridge: Ashley, you have every reason to be furious.
Ashley: I don't know, do I? (Laughs) I mean, I don't--I don't know. I certainly walked into this situation with my eyes wide open. I knew all about (sighs) your history with Brooke. Still, I wish you hadn't been so persuasive and so very reassuring, because you made me believe in us, you know?
Ridge: I believed in us, too. I wanted a life with you, Ashley, you and Abby.
Ashley: And maybe we would have had that life if Brooke hadn't been raped, right? I mean, that's when everything changed for you and me, because she needed you, and you were there for her, as always. (Sobbing) Oh, I just feel so stupid.
Ashley: I, um-- I sent our invitations out from France, because I thought it would be romantic if they were postmarked from Paris. But... (laughs nervously) you made your decision.
Ashley: I remember when I walked in and Brooke was wearing this ring. (Sniffs) She thought it was meant for her... and she was right. You were hers all along.
Ridge: I really did love you, Ashley. Don't ever doubt that.
Ashley: Well, you know, I thought you did. I mean, it felt like you did every time we were together. Abby--she thought so, too. She was really excited to have you as her stepfather.
Ridge: Maybe the three of us could get together and talk.
Ashley: I don't think so, Ridge. I don't think so. No. No. When you walk out that door, you're walking away from me and my daughter for good.
Ridge: If there's anything I can do...
Ashley: Sure. You can be happy.
Ridge: What about you?
Ashley: I'm gonna be just fine. I'm kind of worried about you, though. I mean, you and Brooke have done this-- you've tried and failed how many times now? Really, how many?
Ridge: This is different.
Ridge: We're... different. And my mother's not in the picture anymore.
Ashley: Right, so it's different. Isn't there always something lurking around the corner for Brooke, though? I mean, last time it was Nick. How can you be so sure that she's not gonna be vulnerable to him again?
Ridge: I have loved Brooke practically my whole life. Yes, things have happened to split us up, but we always seem to find our way back to each other. Well, I have to believe that there's a reason for that. Call it fate, destiny. I just know in my heart this time it's forever.
Ashley: I hope that's true for you. (Scoffs)
Ridge: You are an exceptional woman, Ashley Abbott.
Ashley: I think you need to go... okay? Please.
Donna: Eric and I have kept it low profile for obvious reasons.
Stephanie: I think it's because you're an embarrassment to him.
Donna: You know, that is the same drivel you tortured Brooke with for years. But I am not my sister, and I don't want your approval. And now that Eric is divorcing you--
Stephanie: He's not going to divorce me.
Donna: But you are separated.
Stephanie: Am I? Oh, Donna, I've been through this a hundred times. It always ends the same way. Eric comes back to me. He's not going to marry you, so don't get your hopes up. And now I grant you, you're riding high at the moment. But honey, that's all going to change once he gets tired of seeing you parade around in this little outfit or that little outfit or no outfit at all. You are just the flavor of the month. The truth is you have nothing of any substance to offer him, never have and never will. Sex, my dear, can only take you just so far.
Donna: Now see, there you go assuming that's all there is to me. Surprise, surprise, I have a brain, a heart. I feel things just as deeply as you do. I'm in love with Eric.
Stephanie: Like you were with Thorne.
Donna: You know what? Fine. Don't believe me. I don't care. You may have a history with Eric, but he craves so much more. And I can give it to him. And I'm not just talking about incredible sex, but warmth, respect, appreciation. I treat Eric with dignity, and he treats me the same way. He sees beyond these and into my heart. And, no, you know, I-I'm not perfect, and I will never be, but at least I don't try to control his every move. He'd be a fool to give that up, and he's no fool, Stephanie. Neither am I. So if you're smart, you will just let him have some happiness for a change. And if you're not, well, and you keep pushing, just know that I will push back hard in ways that you can't even begin to imagine. Your days with the man are over, Stephanie. It's my turn to be Mrs. Eric Forrester.
(Stephanie slaps Donna)
Donna: There is nothing, nothing you can do about that!
