Stephanie: There was no way I could know what kind of a man he was, but I accept completely my responsibility for what he did to you, Brooke.
Donna: Claire is also working on her Master's in...
Claire: Cultural anthropology.
Donna: Isn't that wonderful?
Eric: Well, Claire, we're very pleased to have you with us. Welcome.
Claire: Thank you so much, Mr. Forrester.
Donna: Claire, we'll be talking.
Eric: Are you trying to set me up?
Donna: (Scoffs) No. I'm thinking she would make a perfect lead model and spokesperson for us.
Eric: What are you talking about? That's you.
Donna: Eric, no, subtle sophistication. That's Forrester Creations under you. I mean, what--what you need is a -- is a Rolls Royce. I'm more of an all-terrain vehicle.
Eric: How do we know that this girl can even talk?
Donna: All she has to say is "Cultural Anthropology." We're not building our comeback campaign around her.
Donna: The word's out-- the boss is back.
Eric: What? We're selling me?
Man: Sorry about the delay. French air traffic control seems to have its own rules.
Rick: Oh, no. No. Don't worry about it. I mean, look, we got booze, plenty of magazines, and they're in English.
Rick: Oh, boy. Um... oh, man, here.
Ashley: What? It's wedding invitations. I finally finished addressing them.
Rick: Ashley, you schlepped these all the way to Paris for that?
Ashley: Oh, I know. I know. It sounds really silly, but I thought it would be romantic to have a-a Paris postmark. Oh, be quiet.
Rick: You didn't mail them.
(Cell phone rings)
Rick: Oh, is that Ridge? Did he finally realize that you're not around?
Ashley: Real funny. Hello.
Ridge: Hey, how's the "city of lights"? Or do they even still call it that?
Ashley: Yeah, they do, but I think it's just primarily to deter the pickpockets. Um, we're on the-- e tarmac right now waiting to take off.
Ridge: Sorry I've been so out of touch lately. I haven't been home much. Taylor had her baby.
Ashley: You're kidding me? That was so early.
Ridge: It's a boy, and there were complications, but they're both doing fine. It really helps to know you're coming home soon.
Ashley: Yeah, I know. Um, I guess I'm not much for the traveling life anymore.
Ridge: Well, I won't keep you any longer. Have a safe flight. I love you, Ashley.
Ashley: I love you, too.
(Turns off phone)
Bridget: I know how hard this is for you, but it does not have to be, Ridge. Nick and Taylor are the parents of that baby. It just does not matter whose DNA. He's carrying. You, of all people, know that.
Ridge: Yes, I, of all people know exactly what it means for your mother to share a bond with Nick that can never be broken.
Brooke: You wanted to steal my children, but you used the wrong man to help you do it. That's what you say.
Stephanie: No! No, that's-- God, no. That--
Brooke: And you all but gave him the key to my house. You claim that was an accident, too.
Stephanie: Well, how could I possibly know you actually kept your key under a flowerpot?
Brooke: Oh, my God, Stephanie! It's not about the key. It's about the idea that you gave him of me-- that I'm garbage, that I am nothing. Now that is why I was raped. And for you to stand there and say that you accept responsibility now... just go. Get--get out! There's nothing that you can do for me.
Stephanie: Maybe not. A-all right. But look, I just want you to know you and Ridge have my blessing.
Donna: You are the man. You are the reason that any woman who can afford one wants to buy a Forrester gown.
Eric: My God, Donna.
Donna: Okay, all right. There are limitations to what graphics can do for me on short notice.
Eric: Honey, they don't want to see me like this. They don't want to see me. They want to see Ridge. They want to see Brooke, you know?
Donna: Oh, okay. Fine. Fine. The die-hards are gonna love the "eye on fashion" cover, but, God, they are so overexposed. I mean, women are--are fascinated by the man and the mind who devoted his life to celebrating their bodies-- the survivor, the--the leader, the innovator.
Eric: That's not the way women in focus groups would see me.
Donna: This is a great idea. I mean, everyone in promotions is behind it.
Eric: Look, honey, this isn't me. I'm not interesting. I'm not, uh, an innovator. I'm not--I'm not young.
Donna: Oh, yeah, Stephanie's back in town all right. You know, that image of you didn't come from any focus group. Look, this isn't about you and me or you and her. That's gonna go the way it goes, and... well, I'm not gonna have much say in it.
Eric: Donna, look--
Donna: No, no, don't. Don't start hearing violins. No, I don't want to lose you, but you had a life with the woman. I mean, she's not gonna give up without a fight. I mean, your children hate me. I'm not in this to make your life difficult. All I want you to see is--is that it is your life, all yours. And it's fabulous, and so are you.
Eric: I don't want to lose you, either.
Donna: You'll always have me. (Voice cracking) I'm here. (Crying) (Sighs)
Eric: Mm. All right. Okay.
Eric: Let's do it. Let's do it.
Donna: (Giggling) Okay, all right.
Eric: (Laughs) Go on.
Donna: All right. Okay, I'm gonna get promotions right on it.
Bridget: He doesn't have a choice, Ridge. He can't go home to the people that love him so much. You can. You can go home. All you have to do is want it enough.
Brooke: Oh, God. Now you're just pitiful.
Stephanie: Look, if he wants to choose a life with you, I'm not going to stand in your way.
Brooke: You couldn't if you tried. His life with you is over.
Stephanie: That may be so. (Laughs bitterly) You know, I always used to say that you were my enemy, and the truth of the matter is I was my own worst enemy. I called you obsessed all the time, but I was the one with the obsession. And all the years that I said you stole my husband from me, the truth of the matter is I drove Eric away, and now I may have done it again, understandably. So much time and energy and love just thrown away, just wasted... every--every real relationship, everyone that I love, I've driven away. I've destroyed those relationships, and I really want the chance to rebuild them. I'd like to start with you.
Brooke: What kind of relationship would we rebuild, Stephanie? I can't think of anything you've given me that I would want more of.
Stephanie: We could begin with respect for one another.
Brooke: Well, that's just it. I don't respect you. I used to. I used to want your acceptance and your love and Ridge wrapped up in a little bow with your blessing, and I never got it. And now the shoe's on the other foot. I wish you would go, because I'm really tired and I hurt. So please...
Stephanie: Will you at least think about what I said?
Brooke: No. But I'll tell you what I can do. I can forget all about you, 'cause I'm better off than you are, Stephanie, even after what happened to me. I'm not broken. I'm not damaged, and you'll be lucky if the people closest to you would even be able to look at you again. As for me, well, I'm surrounded by love, and I'm stronger than I've ever been. I think I needed to see you to understand that.
Stephanie: Then I'm glad I came.
Eric: No, no, not the eyebrows. They're sacred.
Woman: Then we're done.
Eric: Okay. Well, thank you, Marcy.
Eric: Yeah? She is? All right, uh, send her in. Thank you, Molly.
Eric: Bye-bye. Thanks again, honey.
Stephanie: Oh, hi. Wha -- new haircut, and I didn't even have to badger you to get it.
Eric: What are you doing here?
Stephanie: You called me. Um... is that a new jacket?
Eric: Actually, yes, I did call you. I wanted you to go see Brooke. But the fact of the matter is she's not--
Stephanie: I did see Brooke. I just left her.
Eric: My God.
Stephanie: It-- it didn't go as well or as smoothly as I had hoped, but I do think it did her some good. Eric, you know, if you asked me to wrestle an alligator, I would, because I want us back.
Eric: You're the one who left.
Stephanie: I didn't walk away from you or from our marriage. Eric, I realize this isn't going to be easy, but... and it can't be fixed overnight. I understand that, but if you would just-- look, could we just take it one day at a time? And then I can try and prove to you it's... promotions come up with us?
Stephanie: Honey, I think you need me back more than you realize.
Eric: What don't you like?
Stephanie: W-well, it's just a little, um... look, if someone doesn't know you as well as I know you--
Eric: Wait, it's just a little what?
Stephanie: Just a little... mm. Why don't you let me talk to them? Look, it--it's not that it's a bad idea. It's actually an interesting idea. I just think it could be a little more... dignified.
Eric: No, I actually want you to leave it to them. I want you to see what they'll-- what else they come up with. What?
Stephanie: Is that a new cologne? New jacket? New hairstyle? You're having an affair.
(Knock on door)
Brooke: Who is it?
Ridge: Is this a bad time?
Brooke: Hi. Sorry. Your mother was just here.
Ridge: Oh, I told her not to do that.
Brooke: (Sighs) I know. Guess what? She gave us her blessing.
Ridge: As if she had the power to do that.
Brooke: (Laughs) Exactly. I was a fool to ever think she did.
Ridge: No, I was a fool, Logan. To think what we could have had... all the hurt that could have been prevented.
Brooke: Maybe, but we survived it, and we're here now.
Ridge: Yeah, we are.
Brooke: You and me, and nothing's stopping us from what we want... or is there?
Stephanie: I half expected this.
Eric: Do you know how demeaning that is?
Stephanie: I'm not blaming you. Jackie's been hovering for years. I hope to God you used condoms.
Eric: Oh, for God's sake.
Stephanie: Well, you know some women are like those beautiful duvet covers in a secondhand store. You just never know where they've been.
Eric: It's not Jackie.
Stephanie: Well, that's a dodged bullet.
Eric: Look, what I want you to understand--
Stephanie: Is... it's one of the models, isn't it?
Eric: Oh, for God sake.
Stephanie: What little chic--
Eric: Are we back to that now?
Stephanie: Well, can you blame me? Models have loose lips. Let me rephrase that. They gossip. That means you have to perform.
Eric: It's not all about sex.
Stephanie: You light up her world day and night.
Eric: It's not what I do for her here. It's what she does for me.
Stephanie: Oh, she makes you feel like a big, strong, healthy man?
Eric: Will you stop finishing my sentences? Don't treat me like a 10-year-old child. I'm doing my best in a difficult situation.
Eric: It's not what I see in her that I don't see in you.
Eric: It's that when I am with her...
Eric: I'm someone I can actually stand.
Donna: Eric, I-- oh, I'm sorry. Um... promotions needs you for a--
Stephanie: Excuse me. We are in the middle of a private conversation.
Eric: No, darling, don't go.
Eric: Please, go on. Um, feel free to continue.
Stephanie: What? (Scoffs) Does everybody here know about this?
Donna: You might want to ask yourself why I'm here, Stephanie.
Stephanie: Another son's reject?
Stephanie: How can you be such an old fool?
Rick: It shouldn't be long now. The pilot says we're, like, 12th in line for takeoff.
Rick: (Grunts) (Sighs)
Ashley: Rick, it's okay. I've already seen it. Fashion has always been two-part show business, right?
Rick: Yeah, okay.
Ashley: Okay, what?
Ashley: Ridge knows what he wants. That's all I need to know, okay?
Ridge: I'm still not over it, Logan-- your leaving me for Nick.
Brooke: (Sighs) That's not what happened.
Ridge: No, but you wanted it to. And even when I thought there was no possibility-- that Nick and Taylor were totally solid...
Brooke: They are, Ridge. Just ask them.
Ridge: That baby you share, Brooke-- that makes it not impossible now.
Brooke: Not impossible to leave you and go back to him? Not impossible to hurt you the way I hurt you before? Ridge, I love you. That's all I've ever felt since the day I first met you. Now if we can't count on that, what can we count on? We'll just figure it out as we go along. Are you willing to do that with me?
Brooke: I love you more than I love any man, and I so desperately want to share a life with you, with our child and our family and just have the life that we've always wanted. We can do that. I promise you. If you just give me one more chance, I will prove it to you. And Nick and Taylor's baby-- that is not gonna be an issue. Now Ashley Abbott--I... (sighs) I know she's an exceptional woman, and I can understand why you wouldn't want to hurt her, but you just have to break off that engagement. Just do it, Ridge. It's our time. Please, come back to me. Just come back to me.
