Bridget: Careful, Mom. Whoop. Whoops-a-daisy.
Brooke: Oh, those painkillers they gave me. God, I--
Bridget: Feel a little woozy, huh?
Brooke: Yeah, mm-hmm.
Bridget: Just sit down.
Brooke: Oh. (Moans)
Bridget: How many did you take?
Bridget: I want you to go easy on those. You know, you can't drive or anything.
Brooke: No, I-I know.
Brooke: You know, even though I got those needles stuck in my hips, I-I feel pretty good.
Bridget: Yeah? But you're not going dancing tonight?
Brooke: Maybe tomorrow.
Bridget: (Laughs) Oh, okay. Well, I-I really am glad you called work and you told 'em you couldn't make it in today. I don't want you doing anything more strenuous than just eating chicken soup.
Brooke: Doctor's orders?
Bridget: Doctor's orders, yes. And the soreness you're feeling is normal. It's probably gonna last a couple more days. But after that, you do not need to be taking these painkillers. I'm gonna prescribe you an iron supplement, 'cause they took a lot of bone marrow out, and you could be anemic for a couple weeks.
Brooke: Well, then let's just scratch the chicken soup, and we'll have T-bone steak.
Bridget: (Laughing) Um, Mom, you need to take it with orange juice. The vitamin c helps the absorption of the iron. Mom, are you listening to me?
Brooke: Yeah, something about vitamins.
Bridget: Right, right. Well, I'm gonna have all this written down so you don't need to worry about remembering.
Brooke: You should have seen Ridge's face when he realized that...
Bridget: That you are the baby's mother?
Brooke: Yeah, but I'm not. Taylor is. And I kept telling that to Ridge over and over again, and maybe if he just takes time to think about it, he'll see.
Bridget: But, Mom, you have to see it from his perspective. He really thought you were completely over Nick, and now there's this tie to him and--
Brooke: I know. (Sighs) But I-I'll do whatever it takes. I'll sign papers. I am not going to give up on Ridge and me.
Ridge: You and Nick have a child?
Brooke: He is Nick and Taylor's baby.
Ridge: He's half you, half Nick.
Brooke: Yes, genetically.
Ridge: So what the doctor said was right. He is yours.
Felicia: Mom's back, and she came to the house? Please don't tell me she ran into Donna.
Eric: No, I made certain that didn't happen.
Felicia: Well, that's good, because...
Eric: Look, I'm gonna take care of this. I'm gonna tell your mother in my own time and in my own way.
Felicia: How about not telling her at all? I mean, we're talking about Donna Logan. This can't possibly be anything more than a meaningless fling.
Stephanie: May I come in, or is that out of the question?
Ridge: There is nothing for you here, Mother.
Stephanie: No coffee, no welcome mat, so no forgiveness?
Ridge: You got that right.
Stephanie: Well, at least you didn't slam the door in my face.
Ridge: Don't take too much hope from that.
Stephanie: (Sighs) I missed you.
Ridge: Instead of finding Brooke, going to Brooke, you ran away, because you knew exactly what you'd done to her.
Stephanie: I left, because I thought I needed help.
Ridge: Brooke needed help, too. She's getting it.
Stephanie: I'm glad to hear that, and believe me, there isn't anything that you can say to me that I haven't said to myself a thousand times already or that my mother has said to me.
Ridge: Oh, is that where you've been? All these weeks with Ann and Pamela?
Stephanie: Well, Chicago was the last stop. Look, I-I realized I... I realized I had to face myself. I couldn't run away any more than I could run away from you now. Oh, Ridge, believe me. This was such a terrible, terrible, unforgivable lapse of judgment on my part.
Ridge: Oh, that's what we're calling it now?
Stephanie: Well, you don't think that I intended for that man to rape her?
Ridge: Oh, it was more than just a rape. It was a brutal, savage rape. The bruises that Brooke sustained from that beating lasted a long time, Mother. If you think that time heals all wounds, you're very, very mistaken.
Stephanie: I don't know what to say to you. I never intended for something like this to happen to her.
Ridge: You may not have intended for her to be raped, but I will never forget what's happened to her, and I will definitely never forget your part in it.
Felicia: Daddy, think about it. If--if you just break it off with Donna right now, everything can go back to the way it was.
Eric: Well, that's a really strong selling point.
Felicia: Okay, so Mother drives us all crazy from time to time, but come on. Mother is the one-- she's the glue that holds this family together. You can't tell me that Donna would be a better match for you.
Eric: In many ways, Felicia, she already has been.
Eric: Look, I appreciate that you want to support this family and keep it all together, but you are to stay out of this. Do you understand? Stay out of it.
Felicia: Oh, my God. You're talking like-- you can't seriously be considering some sort of future with that hoochie mama.
Eric: All right, stop it! I'll see you at the office.
Felicia: I'm sorry. Daddy, I know that your marriage to Mother hasn't been perfect, but she's had to make you happy. She had to have, or otherwise, you wouldn't have stayed together all these years.
Eric: We've s-- when you have a family as big as ours and a company as successful as ours is--
Felicia: You can't have it both ways, Daddy.
Eric: I am well aware that I need to make a choice, and I will, but until your mother apologizes to Brooke, I don't think I'm even gonna talk to her again. You understand?
Felicia: Yeah, I-I assume that you told her that's your condition.
Eric: Yes, and she was very serious about fulfilling this act of contrition. I thought it would have happened already. I thought she was going over there to do it last night.
Felicia: Maybe it didn't go so well?
Bridget: All right, where should I put this?
Brooke: Back in the kitchen.
Bridget: Mom, don't do this to me. You have to eat something.
Brooke: Honey, I wish you didn't go to all that trouble.
Bridget: It's toast.
Brooke: You used my fine china and my silver tea set.
Bridget: Well, you bring it out once a millennium. I figured you can't say no if I serve it up on a silver platter.
Bridget: Mom, what's wrong?
Bridget: Did I upset you?
Brooke: It's what Andy said about Stephanie, that she "Served me up on a silver platter."
Bridget: Oh, my goodness. Mom, I'm s--I'm sorry.
Brooke: It's okay. Just forget it.
Bridget: I wasn't thinking. Um, um, I didn't know about-- why-- that's your old key. W-why do you have that?
Brooke: To remind me never to trust Stephanie.
Bridget: Mom, when was the last time you saw Beth?
Brooke: (Sighs) I don't need counseling, Bridget.
Bridget: Who decided that?
Stephanie: You couldn't help yourself, could you? Some guy shows the slightest bit of interest in you, and you're all over him like a cheap suit. So where is he? Hello? Or did you finish with him? (Laughs sarcastically) Of course, you did. Next in line, please.
Stephanie: Are you ever gonna grow up?
Brooke: You don't know what you're talking about.
Stephanie: Oh, yes, I do, because I know you. You always do the same thing. You always put your needs above your own children's. Well, this time, there's repercussions, isn't there? You think you can just seduce this guy like everyone--
Brooke: I did not seduce him, Stephanie. It wasn't like that.
Stephanie: Really? What'd you do, just go barhopping? This is him, isn't it? Good-looking--just your type. Bring him back here and sleep with him? (Echoing) Sleep with him? Sleep with him? Sleep with him?
Brooke: Shut up. Shut up!
Bridget: Mom, Mom, Mom! Mom, you're scaring me.
Bridget: Stop. It's okay. Mom, Mom, you just-- oh, Mom, you have so m-many emotions and anger inside of you. You need to talk to someone, or they're never gonna go away.
Brooke: They're never gonna go away if people keep bringing it up! That's for sure. (Sighs)
Stephanie: I can't change what's happened. I can... only try and change myself. So I understand you and Ashley, um, are engaged. Congratulations. I think you'll be very good for one another.
Ridge: The irony of all this-- it's always been your mission to keep Brooke away from me. Because of this trauma she's gone through, it's actually brought us closer together. Brooke and I have bonded like never before, Mother. Meantime, Ashley's taken off to Europe to give me a chance to think, 'cause she knew I needed that.
Stephanie: Well, honey, it's your life, and these are your decisions. Whether it's Ashley or it's Brooke, I'm not going to interfere.
Ridge: Sounds like more empty promises to me.
Stephanie: Do you know where Brooke is? I want to talk to her. I have to see her.
Ridge: You stay away from Brooke. Don't go anywhere near Brooke.
Brooke: Oh, great. Thanks for bringing this by.
Eric: I-I-I-wh--I brought it, 'cause you said you were working from home today. Home come? Why?
Brooke: Uh, well, I-I'm not feeling 100%, really.
Eric: Are you sick?
Brooke: No, no. I had a little procedure at the hospital last night, and Bridget just brought me home.
Eric: Whoa, at the hospital last night?
Eric: Well, it isn't anything serious, is it?
Brooke: No, no, I'll be fine to go to work tomorrow.
Eric: Well, tomor-- give me that. Tomorrow--you can do this tomorrow at the office.
Brooke: (Laughs) Okay. Then you didn't really come by to bring me that, did you? You came by to check up on me.
Eric: (Sighs heavily) Yeah. Is that okay with you?
Eric: Stephanie's back.
Brooke: I see.
Eric: I thought, actually, that she would have seen you by now. She left the house to come over here and see you.
Brooke: Well, it's a good thing I wasn't here. Thanks for the heads-up. I gotta make sure I avoid anyplace I might run into her.
Eric: Actually, the fact is I insisted that she come over here on her hands and knees begging for forgiveness.
Brooke: Eric, no. I don't want her here. I don't want to see that woman ever again.
Stephanie: Ridge, I don't really believe I have a choice here.
Ridge: You stay away from Brooke.
Stephanie: I need to face her, and I need to explain to her--
Ridge: Mother, if you're just trying to apologize to get back into everyone's good graces, forget about it.
Stephanie: No, it's so much more than that. It--look, she may never be able to--to forgive me, but at the very least, I owe her an explanation.
Ridge: You think you can just explain your way out of this?
Stephanie: No, I don't. Don't you understand I'm trying to make amends? I need for her to understand I had no idea what that man was capable of, that he would do something like this. I want to try and help her. I mean, there's got to be some way, something I can do that will help her.
Ridge: Well, there is. There is. You can stay away from her. She doesn't need visitors right now, especially you.
Stephanie: You're probably right. Maybe in a few days.
Ridge: No, Mother, not even then!
Stephanie: Look, as much as I would like to do what you're asking of me--
Ridge: Mother, will you just stop and listen to me? I got a call this morning from the counselor Brooke's been working with at the rape crisis center. Brooke has been traumatized to such an extent; she's having flashbacks, panic attacks, and migraines. She is still so fragile, no matter how much she tries to deny it.
Stephanie: Well, is the counseling not helping?
Ridge: But it is helping. But she still has all this fear and rage to get through. On the inside, she's torn up. She's like a time bomb. And until she can deal with all of this fear and trauma, there's no way she's ever gonna heal.
Eric: You don't want to confront Stephanie?
Brooke: I want nothing to do with Stephanie, now or in the future. I just want to forget.
Eric: It might be therapeutic, Brooke. I mean, the woman at least owes you an apology.
Brooke: Eric, she's not going to apologize. Maybe she'll mouth the words, because she knows that that's what you want, but she's not going to mean it. She told Andy where to find the key to my house. Now I-if she didn't do that, he probably wouldn't have gotten in that night. And I'm not gonna forgive her for that. I'm certainly never going to forget what that animal did to me... never.
Eric: All right. I understand. I-uh-- I should have gotten your permission before I insisted she come over here. I'll make sure she steers clear. You're not ready.
Brooke: I don't think I'll ever be ready. I don't even want to hear her say those words, Eric-- "I'm sorry"-- because it'll make her feel better, and it'll make me furious. So please, just keep her away from me. 'Cause if she was standing there right in front of me, I don't know what I might do.
Bridget: Dad left for the office already?
Felicia: No, actually, he went to your mother's, because my mother is back.
Bridget: Oh, boy.
Felicia: Yeah, you got that right. I guess she got back sometime yesterday. Dad just told me.
Bridget: Then you haven't seen her yet?
Felicia: (Sighs) No. I imagine she's making the rounds, starting with the people she needs to grovel to most.
Bridget: Well, then I'm glad that Dad is over at my mom's warning her. If she was just to run into Stephanie, it wouldn't be a very good idea.
Felicia: It's bound to happen at some point, sis.
Bridget: No, not now. I just feel like she's been through too much. She's still in denial, and...
Felicia: Thing is Dad told my mother that she's gonna be on the outs until she apologizes to Brooke... in person.
Bridget: Well... (scoffs)
Felicia: He's thinking maybe she already did or tried to.
Bridget: Well, as of this morning, she hadn't. I-r-really, I'm telling you, it's not a good idea for St--for Stephanie just to show up there. If that was to happen, we would have a very big disaster on our hands.
Ridge: Hey, Logan, it's me.
Brooke: Oh, hi.
Ridge: How're you feeling?
Brooke: Um, the painkillers are helping.
Ridge: Still sore, huh?
Brooke: Yeah, yeah, but I'll manage.
Ridge: Look, I have some news for you. Brace yourself.
Brooke: Stephanie's back.
Ridge: She didn't come over there, did she?
Brooke: No, she didn't show her face here, thank God.
Ridge: Who told you about it?
Brooke: Your father. He was here. In fact, he--he left his folder. I'm sure he'll be back any minute. I never want to see that woman ever again, Ridge.
Ridge: For what it's worth, she came by here. She does seem to regret what happened.
Brooke: Well, of course she does, because her little plan backfired.
Ridge: She needs to stay the hell away from you. You're recuperating, and you don't need the stress.
Brooke: (Sighs) Yes. Thank you. (Exhales deeply) Ridge, about the baby--
Ridge: Hey, look, we can talk about that later. You need to rest, okay? I'm sure Bridget's told you the same thing, only me you're gonna listen to, right?
Brooke: Yes, sir.
Ridge: Good girl. All right, you get some rest, and we'll talk soon.
Brooke: Okay. See you soon. Bye.
Brooke: Well, I was just telling Ridge that you were gonna come back for your folder. Here you are. Ohh. Get out. Get out. Damn you, get out! Get out!
Stephanie: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
Brooke: Get out!
Stephanie: I'm sorry, Brooke. Please.
