Nick: Climb in, Thomas. Right here.
Thomas: Well, thank you for the plane ticket.
Nick: Oh, yeah. Yeah, I know your mother wants to spend some time with you before the baby gets here.
Thomas: Oh, yeah, a few more weeks.
Thomas: You guys must be excited.
Nick: Well, yeah, we are. Hey, I'd like to get your sister Steffy here, too. You think you could help me with that?
Thomas: Ooh, it would take a lot more than a plane ticket to make that happen. She's obsessed with school-- has to ace everything.
Nick: So she's ambitious, huh?
Thomas: Yeah, yeah. You--you know anybody else like that?
Nick: (Laughing) oh, please. I'll tell you. Your mother-- if it wasn't for her, we wouldn't be having this child, you know. She's, um-- she's an amazing woman.
Thomas: Well, she feels the same way about you, and she should. I'm glad she's got you in her life.
Nick: Well, thank you, Thomas. Thank you.
Ridge: Oh, Logan. Damn it. Yes, it feels right, but it's not right for either of us.
Brooke: It could be.
Ridge: You just said--
Brooke: I just said I'd give you up if I have to, but if I don't have to--
Ridge: Brooke, we gotta move on here.
Brooke: Ridge, there's still something between us.
Ridge: It doesn't mean we have to act on it. (Groans)
Brooke: Look, I told you I would be the good ex-wife if that's what you think we need to do to make this family work. But is that what you really want? Do you really care about Ashley as much as you care about me?
Brooke: I'll let you think about that.
Ridge: You're leaving?
Brooke: I have to go to Taylor's baby shower.
Ridge: She invited you?
Brooke: Yeah. There's no reason for her not to invite me. I told you many times before, I'm not a threat to Taylor's marriage anymore, and she knows that. I'm no longer in Nick's life. There's no more ties between us.
Taylor: Oh, look at this!
Bridget: That is so cute.
Taylor: Isn't it cute? Oh, ow. Ow. Felt a kick.
Felicia: Ooh, little devil's ready to party.
Phoebe: Well, I think she wants to open more presents this one is from me.
Bridget: How cute is this?
Taylor: Maybe you can help. Maybe he should move his knee.
Felicia: Looks like Brooke may be a no-show. Good news for you.
Bridget: Ahh, okay. Here. Here.
Jackie: What are you doing here?
Donna: I was invited.
Jackie: (Scoffs) this is a baby shower, Donna. Nobody ordered a stripper.
Woman: Come on, Rick. Take us to Paris with you.
Rick: I wish I could. I'm gonna be in meetings the entire time, though.
Woman: Your family's back at Forrester Creations. You should celebrate.
Rick: I know, but you know, I-I have to get international back on track before that happens.
Ridge: Can't do that in one trip. Might want to consider taking up residence permanently.
Rick: (Clears throat) ladies, I apologize. We're gonna have to continue this at a later time. Thank you. You want me to leave L.A. And miss watching you dig your own grave? I don't think so.
Ridge: Gee, Rick, what could you possibly mean?
Rick: You're engaged to Ashley Abbott, who happens to be one of the most extraordinary women that I've ever met. Somehow that isn't good enough for you. You want to keep my mom dangling on a string. You do realize that the whole thing is just gonna blow up in your face? And I want to be here, front row center, enjoying the show.
Thomas: So how exactly is this gonna work?
Nick: We're going to a baby shower.
Thomas: Right. You sure you want to surprise a pregnant lady like that?
Nick: I do. All your mother's been talking about are you kids.
Thomas: Well, babies on the brain.
Nick: Well, that's true, but you guys aren't babies anymore. You're adults. So I'd like to be able to talk to you like an adult.
Thomas: Uh, okay.
Nick: I know that you had a problem with me at first.
Thomas: I did.
Nick: I know that you wanted your parents back together, and I-I understand that. I respect it, but I do want you to know that your mother and I have--
Thomas: Nick, I talk to my mom a lot. You obviously make her happy. This baby makes her happy. I got no problem with that. Just keep doing what you're doing.
Nick: Thanks for the advice.
Taylor: Oh, my goodness.
Phoebe: So cute!
Bridget: This is precious.
Taylor: Donna, this is so sweet. Thank you.
Donna: You're welcome, Taylor.
Phoebe: Oh, look!
Ashley: That is so cute.
Bridget: That is so cute-- striped-- it almost looks reversible.
Jackie: Who put her on the guest list?
Felicia: Uh, you did. She's your friend. You work together. That was before Nicky sold the company back to your father.
Felicia: What does that have to do with Donna?
Jackie: Oh, more than you want to know.
Felicia: Jackie, I'm sorry. Whatever issue you have with Donna, it doesn't belong in this house.
Jackie: Oh, you're so right about that.
Taylor: I did with my first ball.
(Voices speaking indistinctly)
Bridget: Oh, Mom, hi.
Bridget: I'm so glad you made it.
Taylor: Brooke, hi. Come on in. Sit down.
Brooke: (Laughs) sorry I'm late.
Taylor: It's okay.
Brooke: Here, I hope you like it.
Taylor: Okay, thank you. Oh, it's heavy.
Phoebe: Oh, that's a cute bag.
Bridget: I didn't know. But that is precious. It's precious.
Bridget: I know.
Taylor: Wow, a photo album.
Taylor: That's beautiful.
Brooke: That's for your pictures-- you and Nick and the baby.
Taylor: Thank you. Thank you so much, Brooke.
Phoebe: It's really cute.
Ashley: So did somebody have a 2-for-1 deal on photo albums?
Brooke: They're always appreciated.
Ashley: No, not always. The one you gave Ridge was kind of inappropriate.
Brooke: Huh. I got the feeling he liked it.
Bridget: It's precious.
Taylor: Listen, guys. I-I just--I have to thank you for all these gifts and--and--and for being here and sharing this special day with me, because it really is special. I mean, I-I-I've already got three grown kids. I kind of thought I was done with this, but... well, the truth is actually, I had kind of given up. I thought I had already lived the happiest days of my life, but, um-- but then along came Nick, and I don't think I've ever been this happy. I just-- I just feel so happy and content, and I just feel like I have my whole life ahead of me, my future to look forward to. I mean, I've got a beautiful husband who's committed to me and--and this precious little baby that Bridget helped make possible. Thank you. Okay, let's see what this is. Oh, my goodness. No, this is-- oh, my gosh. I've been wanting one of these.
Rick: Ridge, you and my mom are doing your little dance all over again.
Ridge: We can't really avoid each other, Rick. We share a son together.
Rick: Yes, I know, and she shares two children with my father. You don't see her spending the night up at Big Bear with him, now do you?
Ridge: I didn't spend the night.
Rick: I really don't care. You can save your explanations for Ashley, not that she's gonna buy your crap, anyway.
Ridge: I am not pursuing your mother.
Rick: Of course not. It's cat-and-mouse. It's too simple for you. See, with my mom, it's, uh-- it's chemical. It's complicated. The thought of you and my mom ending up together makes my skin peel back off my bones, but at least I know if you two end up together, it won't last because it never does.
Ridge: I'm engaged to Ashley.
Rick: (Laughs) you think that big, fat ring on her finger is gonna blind her from what's going on with you and my mom? You can think again. You know what? In fact, no, don't think again. Just keep doing exactly what you're doing. You're doing a great job. (Laughs)
Ridge: You want Ashley for yourself, don't you?
Rick: I thought I lost her forever, but that's not the case.
Ridge: No, you're right. You didn't lose her, Rick, because you never had her. What you had with Ashley was a fling, and that fling hurt my daughter a lot.
Rick: Fair enough. Yes, I made some-- some poor choices, some mistakes, but the difference between you and me is that I learn from my mistakes. I don't repeat them. And if Ashley and I do get back together, at least she's gonna know that I'm gonna treat her the way she deserves to be treated.
Ridge: You really got this all figured out, don't you?
Rick: Yeah, I do. Ashley's wedding gown.
Ridge: That's right.
Rick: You know, I-I have to admit that this is, um-- it's very beautiful. It's some of the best work you've ever done. It's a shame that it's gonna go to waste, or maybe it doesn't have to. I can see Ashley in this gown walking down the aisle, standing up at the altar, and I will be the one with the best view in the house.
Felicia: I think he's a new one.
Taylor: It's for Ashley.
Ashley: Isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen?
Jackie: If you're looking for Eric, he's not here.
Donna: Are you sure? Have you checked the bathtub?
Jackie: Does it give you a thrill being in your lover's house, making small talk with his children?
Jackie: Outraged. I never, ever would have encouraged Nicky to sell Eric back the company if I knew you two were involved.
Donna: But you did sell him back the company, and Eric couldn't be more grateful... to me.
Jackie: Well, let's just see how he feels when Stephanie gets back.
Donna: (Scoffs) it's over with them.
Jackie: The sale of Forrester Creations was contingent upon their divorce. Don't count your chickens, Donna, not where Stephanie is concerned.
Ashley: So you were very late. Did you get held up somewhere?
Brooke: Unexpected detour. I thought I knew exactly where I was going, and suddenly, I ended up somewhere else.
Ashley: Hmm. Well, I am going somewhere else. I'm off to Paris right after the shower.
Brooke: Hmm. You're not worried to leave Ridge all alone?
Ashley: Well, if I were worried, I wouldn't be going.
Taylor: Is everything okay?
Ashley: Yeah, I have to go.
Taylor: Did something...
Ashley: No, I have a, um-- I have a plane to catch.
Taylor: Mm. Can't get far enough away from Brooke?
Ashley: You remember what that's like, right?
Taylor: Mm. Mm-hmm.
Ashley: Yeah, good luck.
Taylor: Yeah, you, too.
Taylor: Have a safe trip.
Ashley: Thanks. Bye.
Donna: I plan to get out of here early.
Taylor: Hey, girl. Hey, baby.
Donna: Hey, how are you?
Taylor: Have you tried this?
Phoebe: I haven't tried it.
Taylor: Here, have a bite.
Bridget: Taylor looks so great, doesn't she?
Brooke: Yeah. She's exactly where she wants to be in her life.
Taylor: Oh, yeah, that is adorable.
Felicia: Brooke, I'm so glad you could make it. So are you managing to enjoy yourself at all?
Brooke: Yeah, it feels good to be socializing again. You know, I haven't been getting out much lately.
Felicia: Now that dad's back in charge of Forrester Creations, I don't think any of us are gonna be getting out much.
Taylor: Isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen?
Phoebe: It's so cute.
Taylor: Look at this.
Donna: Oh, yeah, that is adorable.
Brooke: Excuse me, everybody. Sorry to interrupt. I just wanted to say how proud I am to be a part of this celebration and how proud I am of Nick and Taylor for not giving up on their dream. I know how much you wanted to have this baby and how much you had to go through to get here. And now I look at you. You're pregnant and glowing, and I can't help but be envious. I would really love to have another child, but of course, I could do without the swollen feet and the aching back and the stretch marks and all of that-- so good luck with that-- not to mention the dirty diapers and the late-night feedings.
Brooke: But I wouldn't wish that on two more deserving people.
Felicia: Okay, hear, hear.
Taylor: Thank you. Thank you, Brooke. And I'm sure that sounded strange to everybody in this room, because you all know that we haven't been the closest of friends over the years.
Felicia: Ha ha! Says the "Queen of understatement."
Taylor: Well, but we've worked through a lot of our issues, and, uh, the support that Brooke's shown Nick and me-- we've been very grateful for it. And you're right. I am glowing because this is the happiest I've ever been, and I'm not bragging. I-I know better than to do that in a room full of single women here. But I'm just saying that it's--it's never too late, and it's just like everybody says. It--you know, it happens when you least expect it. I mean, I still can't believe that I-I'm having a baby with a man who's just-- he's so handsome, and he's--he's strong, and he's--he's sexy.
Nick: Whoa, don't stop now.
Nick: It sounds so good.
Taylor: This is a party for girls.
Nick: I know. I got a present for you, okay?
Nick: Hang on. Enter.
Taylor: Thomas, Thomas, Thomas.
Ridge: Getting a little ahead of yourself, aren't ya, Rick?
Rick: No, not really. It's not that difficult to predict the inevitable.
Ridge: Don't try to undermine my relationship with Ashley. It wouldn't be healthy for you.
Rick: Undermine you? I don't have to undermine you. You're doing that yourself. Ashley's on to you. All the time you've been spending with my mother-- you're not even trying to hide it.
Ridge: That's because there's nothing to hide, Rick. You see, Ashley understands a lot of things that you don't seem to understand.
Rick: What? That you're getting my mom's hopes up again?
Ridge: I've explained to Brooke that, uh, she wants more than I can give her.
Rick: Is she listening to you?
Ridge: She's convinced herself that it could work this time-- a simple happy life with our kids-- no complications.
Brooke: My mother is a big dreamer. You know that, because with you and her, there's always a complication.
Phoebe: My turn.
Thomas: It's good to see you.
Phoebe: Hey, good to see you.
Jackie: You didn't tell me you were gonna do this.
Nick: That's because I wanted it to be a surprise, Mother.
Jackie: You're sweet.
Thomas: Wow, the pictures did not do it justice.
Phoebe: Stop it. She looks beautiful.
Thomas: It's great to be here, but it sounds like I interrupted your toasts?
Phoebe: Well, that just means you have to make one of your own.
Bridget: Good idea.
Thomas: Uh, okay. Um...
Thomas: To my mom, who's about to be a mom again. And to my little soon-to-be half brother or sister, you don't know it yet, but you are one lucky kid. You have an amazing mommy. And your dad-- well, your dad gives terrific gifts, so...
Taylor: Yes, he does.
Thomas: To tell you the truth, I've been kind of worried about mom, being so far away. She would tell me everything was okay, but she would say that even if it wasn't. So to be here and see how happy she is, I can't tell you-- I just--I have a really good feeling about this.
Taylor: Well, you should. (Laughs)
Nick: Your job is to enjoy her, okay? That goes for you, too. You got two weeks to soak up all her attention, so have at it.
Phoebe: Way to bribe the babysitters.
Nick: Babysitters? Remind me here, what do babysitters do now, huh? I see these gifts in here. You got stuff that sings to the kid, stuff that rocks the kid, puts the kid to sleep. What do parents do these days?
Brooke: You just love them.
Jackie: ...And each other.
Nick: Oh, okay. Well, I have been waiting my whole life for this. And I'm so grateful. It makes me crazy, you know, pshooo. So I guess I'm very grateful that I'm married to a shrink. (Laughter)
Nick: You know, uh, I've been told that having a child is one of the great adventures in life, so... (heartbeat thudding loudly)
Taylor: Ow! Ow!
Nick: What--what is it? What's the matter?
Thomas: You okay?
Bridget: What's going on?
Taylor: My water just broke.
Taylor: Oh, my God.
Taylor: The baby's coming. It's too early, honey. It's too early. Ow.
