Nick: New procedure? Bridget, I have settled this in my mind. It doesn't matter who the donor is. Taylor and I are the parents. It's our baby--no one else's.

Bridget: Good. It's just-- Nick? Nick, look, all I am saying is that there is a new procedure out there to determine who the baby's mother is right now. I thought you deserved to know that. Now what you would do with that information would be up to you

Nick: According to you, the chances of the mother being... someone other than the donor-- about zero, correct?

Bridget: I'm not advocating that you do this, Nick. We would have to tell Taylor what test we were running and why.

Nick: Right--the why. And the why being, "By the way, honey, you're carrying Brooke's baby." You want to tell her that? 'Cause I don't.

Bridget: Nick.

Nick: No. No, no "Nick." Because if we tell her this, the stress it would cause-- I don't want to jeopardize this pregnancy.

Brooke: Is there something wrong with Taylor?

Ridge: I still can't believe Nick agreed to sell back the company.

Eric: He drove a hard bargain.

Ridge: Oh, that was an absurd stipulation-- divorce your wife, or no deal. Please.

Eric: I'd like to just keep that between us for now.

Ridge: Okay, understood. And if anybody asks?

Eric: Stephanie's away-- end of story.

(Elevator dings)

Brooke: Something must be going on. You're Taylor's doctor. Why else would you be here?

Bridget: Um, the--well, the--the dress in the window-- the green--what--net one or something?

Nick: I'll send it over to you today, okay? The shoes, too--size 7-- and the mannequin.

Bridget: Great. Well, someone's feeling really generous.

Nick: Well, I just put a big check in the bank. Gifts for everyone.

Brooke: You're a philanthropist now-- a man of leisure.

Nick: Well, I guess the jack of all trades is temporarily retired.

Bridget: Well, something tells me the business world hasn't seen the last of nick Marone. Um, I have-- there's someplace I've gotta be. But it was good to see you, Mom. Mwah.

Brooke: Bye, honey.

Bridget: See you later, and you, too.

Nick: Yeah, I'm sure I'll be talking to you soon.

Bridget: Right. Course. Yeah. Bye.

Nick: Bye. Thanks. I kind of thought you'd be stopping by.

Brooke: (Sighs) Nick, are you sure you want to do this-- sell the company to Eric and Stephanie?

Eric: Oh, for crying out loud.

Rick: (Laughs) That's a good one.

Eric: You're gonna make your old man cry.

Felicia: Oh, but happy tears are allowed.

Eric: Thank you for that. Did you--are you in on this?

Ridge: Maybe.

Phoebe: (Laughs)

Eric: Nobody play poker with this man.

Rick: (Laughs)

Eric: I mean it.

Felicia: (Laughs)

Eric: This is my office-- my office!

Felicia: Notice anything different?

Eric: Uh, no. It's exactly the way it was when I left it.

Thorne: Well, we took great pleasure in boxing up Marone's stuff and dropping it on his doorstep at 2:00 a.m.

Eric: Oh, thank you for that.

Donna: Well, you all did an amazing job putting things back the way they were for Eric.

Eric: I'm very touched that you would all go to so much trouble. Thank you.

Rick: It's a labor of love, Dad.

Phoebe: And we had a blast doing it.

Ashley: What a lovely welcome home gift.

Eric: Yes, it is. And the best thing about it is that you're all here. You're sharing this, uh, dream come true. We have Forrester Creations back...

Ridge: Right on.

Eric: The way it should be.

Thorne: Yeah!

Phoebe: Yeah!

Nick: I sold the company to Eric. The deal is contingent on the fact that Stephanie will never have anything to do with Forrester Creations again.

Brooke: Wow. I won't even ask you how you pulled that one off, but you certainly did me an incredible favor.

Nick: You're considering staying with them?

Brooke: (Sighs) well, even if the company is sold, in the contract it says that it's my option either way.

Nick: It's the dressmaker, isn't it? You just have to be with the dressmaker.

Brooke: I do love him, and we share a child. We ought to be raising him together.

Nick: You don't think his fiancée will have a problem with that, huh?

Brooke: Ashley feels she has the right to be with him, and so do I. If you think I'm underestimating her, I'm not.

Nick: She is the one wearing the ring. It is a bit symbolic.

Brooke: Yeah, that is symbolic. If you had given me another chance, if we had a child together-- but you were committed to Taylor, and now you both are having a child, and I know how much joy that's gonna bring you. So I am really happy for you.

Nick: I appreciate that.

Brooke: I will always love you, Nick, but we have no more ties. And Ridge is my future. And now Stephanie won't be an obstacle anymore, so I'm certainly not gonna back off just because Ashley Abbott is in the picture.

Rick: (Laughs)

Bridget: Oh, congratulations, Dad. I'm so happy.

Eric: Thank you. Thank you. I love that you're here. Thanks for coming.

Bridget: Oh, would I have missed this for the world?

Rick: Does everybody have champagne? Bridget?

Bridget: Oh, I'd-- O.J., actually. I'm on call.

Felicia: Here you go.

Bridget: Thank you.

Eric: Yeah--yo--I'll have some of the real stuff. Thank you.

Donna: You're entitled.

Eric: Thank you.

Phoebe: Make a toast.

Ashley: Yeah.

Thorne: Please.

Ashley: Let's hear some of that legendary Eric Forrester eloquence I've heard so much about.

Eric: All right, which one of you has been talking to her about me? (Laughter)

Eric: All right, all right, all right. I, um... I raise my glass to each and every one of you for standing by me when we started that little tiny company out there-- Forrester Originals-- from scratch, and we brought it up so that it can compete with this company-- the best in the world, Forrester Creations--and win.

Rick: (Laughs)

Felicia: (Laughs) And now it's ours again, so here's to taking both labels straight to the top.

Rick: Hear, hear.

Eric: Hear, hear.

Felicia: Cheers.

Donna: Cheers.

Thorne: Hear, hear.

Thorne: You know, there's only one thing missing from this celebration-- Mother.

Eric: (Coughs)

Thorne: Come on, we all know something's going on.

Phoebe: You'll work it out. You always do.

Nick: Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Back up. A bubble bath at Eric's?

Jackie: I wanted to surprise him. I-I wanted to... help him celebrate his victory. Only it turns out he already had help.

Nick: What do you mean "He had help"?

Jackie: Well, instead of Eric walking in, a woman walked in wearing a towel, which she proceeded to drop right in front of me-- not actually a sight I cared to witness.

Nick: Another woman?

Jackie: You'll never guess.

Nick: You're right, Mother. I'll never guess.

Jackie: Donna.

Nick: Well, what do you know?

Rick: (Laughs)

Felicia: So, Donna, you'll be staying on with us?

Donna: For the time being, anyway.

Eric: There's about 30 contracts that come along with this deal. I have six months to decide who stays and who goes.

Rick: So we're saddled with garrison until the spring?

Eric: No, his is not one of the contracts I am obligated to honor, thank God.

Felicia: (Laughs) Whoo!

Ridge: I tried calling, but there was no reception.

Ashley: Yeah, I guess there's not many cell towers in the mountains, huh?

Ridge: You know I was in Big Bear?

Ashley: Yeah, word travels quickly, even though there's not great reception.

Thorne: Brooke.

Donna: Hey, hi.

Brooke: Hello. Congratulations, Eric. This is wonderful.

Eric: Well, thank you.

Ridge: Look, before you get all, uh--

Ashley: Thanks anyway.

Donna: Oh, I know. It's perfect.

Brooke: If anybody can turn this ship around, you can.

Eric: Yes.

Rick: Om, the, um, the nautical metaphors-- you might want to just--

Thorne: (Laughs)

Brooke: Forgive me, son. I'm new here...

Rick: Yes.

Brooke: That is if your father would like me to stay.

Eric: You're as much a part of this business as anybody else. Of course, I want you to stay.

Brooke: Ohh. Thank you.

Thorne: And I second that.

Felicia: Then motion carried.

Ridge: Looks like you're in.

Bridget: Well, congratulations, Mom.

Brooke: Thank you, sweetie.

Phoebe: Well, it'll be fun working together again.

Brooke: Thank you, everybody. I can't wait to be a part of this family again.

Thorne: Hear, hear.

Eric: You want something?

Felicia: Champagne. .

Eric: All right, I think it's settled, though, now. Brooke is a member of the team.

Brooke: Unless someone has a problem with that.

Ashley: Oh, who could? It's obvious you're such an asset to the company. You'd have to be a fool not to see that.

Eric: So speaking of assets, I think it's important that we all get ours in gear.

Felicia: Ooh, slave driver.

Eric: Yep, that's me.

Bridget: Well, I have to get back to the hospital. But I'm so happy for you. Mwah.

Eric: Thanks, honey. Thanks for coming. I'm so glad you were here.

Bridget: Love you.

Phoebe: Bye.

Bridget: Bye. Bye, sweetie.

Eric: Felicia, Rick?

Rick: Yes, yes, we know. Press releases.

Felicia: Press releases.

Eric: You help them, all right? Thorne, call a general staff meeting for later this afternoon. We can get up to speed on what's in production. You know, Brooke and Donna can bring you up to speed on that.

Donna: Yeah, I'd-- I'll be happy to. Are you okay with that?

Thorne: Yeah, we can do this.

Eric: Ashley, you'll go down in your lab, take a look at all your machinery, see what needs to be upgraded, all right?

Ashley: Okay. Thank you.

Eric: And Ridge, um--

Ridge: In a minute, Dad.

Eric: Okay, fine. We'll get together later. Okay, chop-chop, everybody. Let's go.

Rick: Let's do it.

Felicia: Wait, wait.

Eric: Don't go now. I want to talk to you.

Ridge: Can we finish our discussion?

Ashley: What's there to discuss?

Ridge: Brooke thought she saw Andy. It scared the hell out of her.

Ashley: Okay, so I'm sorry about that, but it made more sense for her to call you and for you to drive all the way up there instead of her turning to one of the other adults that was maybe 10 feet away?

Ridge: None of those people has a clue what she's been through.

Ashley: Her sisters know, and so does Bridget. But I guess only you would do, right? Only you. You know, I better get to the lab. I gotta go.

Nick: Mother, I am sorry, but I told you--

Jackie: Stop! Stop, okay? I know what you're going to say-- this isn't the first time that Eric has disappointed me. I shouldn't have got my hopes up. I know, I know, I know, but, God, what galls me is Donna. I mean, she knows how I felt about Eric, how I feel, and yet off she goes and--and-- I thought she was my friend. How stupid could I be? (Sighs)

Eric: Phoebe, I-I changed my mind. I want you to help Thorne the rest of the afternoon. Can you do that?

Thorne: Come on, you guys.

Felicia: I know, I know.

Eric: Right this way.

Rick: After you.

Eric: Thank you.

Brooke: Ashley didn't seem very happy.

Ridge: It's Dad's big day. Nothing's gonna interfere with that.

Brooke: Hmm. I guess I should feel lucky that she didn't blackball me.

Ridge: Ashley just wants what's best for the company.

Brooke: You and I are gonna be working in very close proximity. You think she can handle that?

Ridge: Ashley is a professional. There won't be a problem. We're all gonna accomplish great things here, right?

Brooke: Well, that's certainly my attitude.

Ridge: Good. I have to go downstairs and get some samples.

Brooke: Oh, Ridge, before you go, I have another session tonight with Beth, you know, the woman from the rape crisis center?

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: And it's at my house, and I'd really like it if you could be there.

Ridge: Oh, tonight-- I've got some plans tonight, Logan.

Brooke: With Ashley? Well, it doesn't hurt to ask, right? It's just last time it was such a Godsend having you there. It really helped. But if you're busy, you're busy.

Ridge: (Sighs) Maybe I could, uh, move some things around and I could see Ashley afterwards.

Brooke: Oh, Ridge, really? You could do that?

Ridge: I told you I'd see you through this, Logan. You can count on me.

Brooke: Thank you. It really helps.

Brooke: You just missed Ridge.

Ashley: Really? Thanks for the update.

Brooke: Look, I know you have issues with me working here again.

Ashley: My issues with you are much deeper than that.

Jackie: Have a nice day. Let's hope somebody does.

Nick: Mother?

Jackie: Hmm?

Nick: I'm sorry you gotta go through this, but I really doubt it's gonna be a secret much longer.

Jackie: (Scoffs) Well, let's just hope that Eric and Donna are not as reckless with other people's feelings. Oh, my God, can you imagine Thorne finding out that the woman that he almost married is carrying on with his father? (Laughs)

Donna: So are you basking?

Eric: I am. I'm basking, and it's because of you. It really is. If you hadn't made it clear to me that opportunity was there to buy that company back, I never would have done it.

Donna: No.

Eric: And you encouraged me.

Donna: No.

Eric: Thank you.

Donna: I can't take the credit.

Eric: I give you the credit. The credit's yours. You have to accept it.

Donna: (Laughs)

Eric: The credit's yours.

Donna: No, you are here again, because you're the best designer in the business. You buried Nick and Jackie. It was bankruptcy or selling. Those were the options.

Eric: Yeah.

Donna: It's your talents, Eric, and your-- your creative vision. Hey, what?

Eric: Nothing.

Donna: You were practically beaming a second ago, and...

Eric: Donna, look, it's--it's--I can't keep my mind off the one person you and I don't want to have to think about.

Donna: Look, before you get all maudlin, remember that this deal would not have gone through if Stephanie were part of it. And Nick was adamant, and so was Jackie. When your wife comes back, you'll divorce her, and--and you'll move on. And the rest of your life is g-- is gonna be full of fun and--and happiness and success. (Giggles) Mmm, mm-mm-mm. Did I mention fun?

Eric: Fun--no, you didn't. Tell me about the fun part again.

Donna: (Laughs)

Eric: Come on.

Donna: Oh, Eric, it's gonna be wonderful, okay? You'll see.

Eric: Mmm.

Ashley: I don't doubt that your talent and experience would benefit the company, Brooke, but I do question your ability to stick to business. You see, you have this tendency to blur the lines.

Brooke: Whatever that means.

Ashley: Well, case in point-- your summoning Ridge up to Big Bear last night.

Brooke: (Scoffs) didn't you ream me out enough for that already?

Ashley: You know, I've been watching you operate all day. And clearly, my phone call fell on deaf ears.

Brooke: Oh, God, I don't even know what you're talking about.

Ashley: Please. You felt that Ridge wasn't spending enough time with you, so you found a way to make it happen, and you're doing it again.

Brooke: No, it wasn't like that. I thought I saw Andy.

Ashley: I heard about that, and I'm sure that was very disconcerting, but why did you have to call Ridge? Seriously. Why couldn't you call one of your sisters or maybe your grown daughter, who's also a doctor? Are you gonna tell me that they weren't available? Did you even try? Because you have a support system, Brooke. You have a lot of people that love you and would love to help you.

Brooke: Ridge is the only one who truly understands me.

Ashley: Oh, right. So that's your response? That's it? That's your response to my request?

Brooke: Your request? "Stay away from him, Brooke. You hear me?" I mean, those were your exact words. I-I don't think that's a request.

Ashley: The bottom line, Brooke--

Brooke: I think that's a tantrum.

Ashley: The bottom line is it's ending right now. I'm talking to Ridge. It's ending right now.

Brooke: That's fine. Go ahead, talk to him. I mean, we have a connection. We have a history...

Ashley: Ohh!

Brooke: That nobody else would understand.

Ashley: Are you gonna haul out that tired speech every time you feel threatened?

Brooke: By you?

Ashley: I had to sit at Thorne's wedding by myself, because ridge needed to assist you. I was trying so hard to understand. And you know what? I did understand after I was told what happened to you. But how you want him to go on supporting you, right, event if it means breaking plans with me. You want him to now attend your counseling sessions? I heard that, Brooke. I heard you make that pitch. And when Ridge said "No," you made him feel guilty until he caved. I just want to know how low are you actually going to stoop?

Brooke: Excuse me?

Ashley: Well, you know, it's one thing to go after another woman's fiancé, but to use your rape as a way of manipulating him-- I can't believe-- ahh!

Brooke: Use my rape? Don't you ever, ever say that to me again.
