Brooke: He's like you.

Ridge: Sleeps like a rock.

Brooke: He charms everybody he meets. You know, his friends won't even make fun of him for being scared and coming in here. By the time he finishes telling the story, they'll all be jealous.

Ridge: That's my boy.

Brooke: They all look up to him. He's very kind, very smart, treats everybody with respect.

Ridge: Obviously, he gets that from your side of the family.

Brooke: Don't hold your mother's feelings against the whole family. I'm proud that he's growing up a Forrester. He's our little miracle baby. There's not a day that goes by that I don't appreciate how lucky I am to be able to share his life with you.

Rick: No, Bridget, don't worry about it. No, I'll call Mom right now. I'll tell her. Don't work too hard. Okay. Bye. (Cell phone rings) (rings)

Brooke: Hello?

Rick: Hey, Mom. It's Rick. How you doing?

Brooke: Oh. Hi, honey. What is it?

Rick: Well, I just got off the phone with Bridget, and, uh, she's slaving away at the hospital. She's on call tomorrow, so she's gonna have to reschedule your plans.

Brooke: Okay. Thanks for the message.

Rick: Are you--are you okay? Is something wrong, or did I catch you at a bad time?

Ridge: It's okay, big boy. Daddy's here.

Rick: Is that Ridge?

Brooke: Yeah, it is.

Rick: Where are you?

Brooke: Up at Big Bear for R.J.'s overnight.

Rick: I thought you were gonna be alone up at Big Bear.

Brooke: Mm, change in plans. Anyway, look, um, I'd better go, 'cause R.J.'s trying to sleep. I'll talk to you soon. Good night.

Rick: Hmm.

Ashley: Hi.

Rick: Hi, there.

Ashley: I thought you went home.

Rick: Um, I had to make a call first.

Ashley: Oh. Ridge did a sketch of my wedding dress, and I accidentally saw it. I don't want him to know.

Rick: Okay, uh, Ashley. Ashley.

Ashley: Yeah?

Rick: Uh, I don't--I don't want to be telling you this, but, um, that wedding dress might end up being for my mom.

Ashley: (Scoffs)

Donna: You wanted to see me?

Nick: Yes. Yes. I've been thinking. You seem to be awfully interested in the fate of this company all of a sudden.

Donna: It pays my bills.

Nick: Right. Right. No marriage to Thorne, no beach house, no living in the lap of luxury-- tough to pay those bills, isn't it?

Donna: (Scoffs) Are you questioning my loyalty?

Nick: Well, I was just curious as to why you kept pushing me to sell the company back to Eric.

Donna: Because it was the best thing for everyone.

Nick: Everyone, including you?

Donna: Well, that depends on what kind of severance package I get.

Nick: That makes sense-- a severance package.

Donna: (Laughs)

Nick: So do you think you're gonna stick around here when Eric takes over?

Donna: What are you asking me, Nick?

Nick: Eric is going to divorce Stephanie, right?

Donna: He gave you his word.

Nick: Well, I have a tendency not to believe what any Forrester says. So I was thinking to myself, self...

Donna: (Laughs)

Nick: If I really want to find out what's going on with Eric and Stephanie, maybe I should ask the woman he's currently sleeping with.

Jackie: (Humming) Ooh. (Splashing sounds)

Eric: Oh, back already. (Splashing sounds)

Eric: I thought you were going to-- Jackie?!

Jackie: Oh, I am so relieved. The last time I tried this, I was accosted by that horrible sister-in-law.

Eric: What are you doing?

Jackie: Hmm? Well, I'm celebrating, darling, and so should you be. You got your company back this evening. To your freedom, to the end of your marriage to Stephanie and to the beginning of us.

Jackie: Come on in. The water's lovely.

Eric: It's a very nice invitation, Jackie, but I can't.

Jackie: Ugh! Technically, you're still married. God, you are such a gentleman.

Eric: Uh, yeah, there's a little more to it than that.

Jackie: With the company? Eric, I am so, so happy for you, especially as you're going to be jettisoning Stephanie out of your life. I can't tell you what that means to me. Actually, you come just a little bit closer, I can.

Eric: You need to grab a towel and get out of there, Jackie.

Jackie: (Laughs coyly) why bother with a towel?

(Cell phone rings)

Eric: Yes? Yeah. Uh, look, I really can't, um-- well, I can't hear you right now. I'm gonna have to call you back. Uh, this is important. I-I'm gonna get on a landline now. It's from--

Jackie: Darling, don't worry. I'm not going anywhere.

Eric: (Clears throat)

Jackie: (Sighs contentedly)

Ashley: See for yourself. Clearly, Ridge had me in mind when he designed this dress.

Rick: No one is more fickle than your fiancé.

Ashley: Why are you doing this? I have asked you every way I know how to respect my relationship with Ridge, and you just won't listen.

Rick: Because the relationship between my mother and Ridge is so damn strong.

Ashley: Oh, I can't that anymore, okay? Ridge and Brooke are destined to be together. Your mother is not factor anymore, okay? End of story.

Rick: Really? Then why is she spending the night with Ridge up at Big Bear as we speak?

Ridge: (Sighs) he's an incredible kid.

Brooke: We might have a little to do with that.

Ridge: I want to spend more time with him. Things might be a little crazy with the wedding coming up, but I don't want him getting lost in the shuffle. You know, we could all spend some time together, even hope, just to-- you know, the four of us together.

Brooke: Yeah. Yeah, that sounds nice.

Ridge: Logan?

Brooke: (Sighs) it's just that we've waited so long to be his parents, and now we're raising R.J. apart.

Ridge: He's not the only kid with divorced parents.

Brooke: Well, I know, but it doesn't have to be this way, Ridge. It's my fault. I drove you away.

Ridge: Look, it didn't work out for us. It does not mean we can't give R.J. a very happy, secure life.

Brooke: Well, it--it would be a lot easier if we were married.

Ridge: (Sighs) I'm marrying Ashley.

Brooke: Okay. Look, I-I didn't want to have to get into this, but, uh, every time I look at you and R.J., I see how much he loves being with you, and I know how much I love being with you. And if we just gave it a try, I know it would be good, Ridge, for all of us. Can you just forgive me one last time?

Donna: Eric? Are you in the tub?

Donna: I could use a bath.

Jackie: Mmm.

Donna: Mm, how romantic.

Jackie: (Gasps) Donna!

Donna: Ohh! Jackie? What are you doing here?

Jackie: I think that you had better answer that first.

Ashley: What did you just say?

Rick: You heard what I said. I was just on the phone with my mom, and I heard Ridge's voice in the background.

Ashley: No, no.

Rick: Yes.

Ashley: R.J. and Brooke went up alone, because I was there when they left.

Rick: Well, Ridge must have slipped out and followed them.

Ashley: No, no. We were-- Ridge and I were together discussing our wedding plans. He even asked me to dinner, but I had to work, so I couldn't go.

Rick: Like I said, fickle.

Ashley: Okay, well, look, if that's true, then there has to be an explanation.

Rick: Ashley, of course there's an explanation. That's my point. There's always some sort of explanation, some sort of excuse with ridge. That's how he operates. Look, don't you see? This is what you're in for. You're always gonna be wondering where's Ridge? Is he with Brooke? Do you really want to live like that when I can offer you so much more?

Brooke: Ridge, look at me.

Ridge: Don't do this, Logan.

Brooke: What? We can't talk about this?

Ridge: Not in front of R.J.

Brooke: He's asleep.

Ridge: Don't do this. Don't make me regret that I've come up here.

Brooke: I called you, because I needed your help, because I was scared, and you came up. Why? Not because I was scared, but because you care.

Ridge: Come on.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Ridge: I'm not here to rekindle our relationship or reunite our family. Why can't you just let that be what it is?

Brooke: And what is it, Ridge? Can you answer that question? Tell me--if it's not love, what is it?

Jackie: You and Eric?

Donna: What? He didn't tell you?

Eric: Hi.

Donna: Hi.

Jackie: (Scoffs) well, I'm gonna have to just find some other place to soak, aren't I? Because when I'm here, the most unpleasant things happen.

Eric: Jackie, look, uh--

Jackie: Please. I got all the explanation I needed when Donna dropped her towel.

Eric: Now look, I'm sorry we find ourselves in a-- an awkward situation here. But for the record, Donna and I are not having some fling.

Jackie: (Laughs) what are you telling me, Eric-- that you actually have feelings for Donna? Oh, no. You've gotta be kidding me.

Jackie: So you two really are involved? Well, you know what they say-- "Two is company. Three is an awkward situation."

Eric: (Sighs)

Donna: Jackie, I-I feel so terrible.

Eric: Listen, let's give her some privacy.

Jackie: No, please. I'm leaving.

Jackie: So... congratulations. He's quite a catch.

Donna: Are we still friends?

Jackie: Oh.

Donna: (Gasps) Aah!

Donna: Ahh, ahh.

Jackie: Absolutely not. Encouraging Nicky to sell Eric the company-- no wonder you were so anxious to squeeze Stephanie out of the picture. And you--you led me to believe that we might have something if your marriage ended. And now this? Damn you. Damn both of you!

Ridge: I've already been through this, Logan.

Brooke: Marrying Ashley is not the answer. It's just a smoke screen that you put up so I won't force you to look at how you're really feeling.

Ridge: Oh, you don't really want to know how I feel right now.

Brooke: Oh, I know you want to jump in the car and race back to L.A. So that you can see your precious Ashley.

Ridge: She's my fiancée.

Brooke: (Scoffs) she's a distraction.

Ridge: Oh, for God's sakes. Logan, is that what you said when you confronted her in the office?

Brooke: Actually, yes, it is. And that's what I'm telling you. Hope, R.J. and I will be here for you, Ridge, always. And that little boy is going to want to see you. The pull that you have towards us, that feeling you had when R.J. was sleeping in the middle of us tonight-- that's always going to be there.

Ridge: This is not the way I wanted to raise him. It's not the way I imagined it when I found out he was mine, Logan. But this--this happens to be the way things are now.

Brooke: Well, it doesn't have to be that way.

Ridge: Well, I hope you're right. I hope we can find a way for this family to live together without all this tension and confusion.

Brooke: Oh, so that's how we make you feel-- tense and confused?

Ridge: I would love to give our son what he wants. I'd love to put his family back together.

Brooke: And you can, Ridge, you can.

Ridge: Brooke, I am marry--

Ridge: I love Ashley.

Brooke: Do you love Ashley like you love me?

Ridge: Tell R.J. that I had to go.

(Cell phone rings)

Brooke: Hello.

Ashley: Let me speak to Ridge.

Brooke: He's not here.

Ashley: Don't play games, Brooke.

Brooke: I'm not. He just left.

Ashley: I know what you're doing.

Brooke: Excuse me?

Ashley: Ridge is my fiancé, and we are going to be married no matter how much you try to interfere.

Brooke: I'm not.

Ashley: Stay away. Do you hear me, Brooke? You had your chance, okay? Ridge is mine.

Brooke: (Scoffs)
