Brooke: (Panting) I'm not late, am I?

Nick: You're not late. My mother's late. You're not late.

Brooke: Oh. She said it was important. It is important. And you're important.

Brooke: Thanks.

Nick: Here.

Brooke: Just tryin' to get my life back to normal. And this job is helping, and my kids, but the rest of it...

Nick: What about the rest of it?

Brooke: I went to bed last night praying that Ridge would change his mind, that he wouldn't marry Ashley.

Nick: Maybe you ought to start praying for something else.

Brooke: Nick, he's the father of my child. I'm not gonna give up on having a future with him.

Nick: Fine. Maybe we should discuss the future of this company while we're here.

Brooke: Fine. I've been looking at the numbers. The company is really in trouble, in my opinion. Our new line isn't going to pull us out of it.

Nick: What do you suggest?

Brooke: Cancel the showing.

Nick: Cancel the showing? The showing that's tomorrow? You don't think that's gonna bring more bad press than actually showing what we have?

Brooke: Yeah, I know. Usually I would agree. You can overcome a bad showing if you have a great season the next time, but I just don't see that happening.

Jackie: Have a little faith, Brooke.

Brooke: You know I will do whatever I can to help you.

Jackie: I'm glad to hear that, because the future of Forrester Creations may lie on your shoulders.

Ashley: I thought we were supposed to have a meeting.

Ridge: We are.

Ashley: Really? Just the two of us? That kind of meeting?

Ridge: I wish. I want to tell the family how happy we are about this engagement.

Ashley: Really?

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Ashley: Here?

Ridge: Well, I mean, we're all workin' around the clock. I can't think of anywhere else to get us all together.

Ashley: Huh. How do you think everybody's gonna react? I mean, I know your mom's gonna be thrilled.

Ridge: She's out of town.

Ashley: Oh. Really?

Ridge: And even if she wasn't, she's not welcome in my office anymore.

Ashley: You're still angry with her 'cause of what she did to Brooke? You know, how she was pushing you to go for full custody?

Ridge: She's interfered in my life for the last time.

Ashley: What about your dad? He made it clear that he thinks that you and Brooke belong together.

Ridge: Oh, my dad's a romantic. Not that he's had a chance to really, uh, show that side of himself. My mother's taken good care of that. But he understands passion, and I think when he sees how passionate I am about you...

Ashley: Mm-hmm?

Ridge: He'll be there for us. He might even be a little jealous.

Ashley: Really?

Ridge: God knows it's been a long time since he's had any passion in his life.

Donna: Oh, you're sure those are for Donna Logan?

Man: Yes, ma'am.

Donna: Okay. Thank you. Thanks.

Donna: "Beautiful flowers for a beautiful lady. Eric."

(Cell phone rings)

Donna: Hello?

Eric: Did you like the flowers?

Donna: They're gorgeous.

Eric: Good. That's what I wanted to hear.

Donna: (Giggles)

(Doorbell rings)

Donna: Oh, hold on. Uh, someone's at the door.

Donna: What are you doing?

Eric: You have not returned any of my phone calls.

Donna: Yeah. you wanted to talk, and... well, I didn't see the point.

Eric: W-why? Why not?

Donna: Because I know what you're gonna say. Stephanie's back in town, and... (inhales deeply) it was fun. Thanks. Good-bye. It's okay. I-it was fun. Last night was-- was wonderful. It was a wonderful fantasy, but it's time to face reality. I'm just not Forrester material.

Ashley: Speaking of passion and people who support us, I think we should talk about somebody who clearly doesn't.

Ridge: Brooke will come around.

Ashley: Ohh... why don't-- (door opens)

Felicia: So whose brilliant idea was this?

Phoebe: I think dad wanted to talk to the family about something.

Thorne: Well, could it wait? I'm expectin' a phone call.

Ridge: It's not gonna take long. Ashley and I have an announcement to make.

Rick: What the hell is this? I heard there was a meeting. Why wasn't I notified?

Ashley: Ridge and I are engaged. (Giggling)

Felicia: Wow!

Ashley: I know.

Felicia: Congratulations.

Ashley: Hey, thank you.

Thorne: That's great news, guys.

Ridge: Thank you, little brother.

Felicia: Whoo! Mwah.

Ashley: Thank you.

Felicia: So, Phoebe, your dad's gonna get married again.

Phoebe: I know. And I'm happy for him.

Ashley: Thank you, Phoebe. That means so much.

Thorne: Well, finally, a wedding mother can get excited about. Where is she? Up on the roof with a bullhorn yelling how happy she is?

Ashley: Actually, we haven't told her yet.

Thorne: Why?

Ridge: 'Cause she's out of town.

Felicia: Yeah. Do you know where she is?

Ridge: No.

Felicia: I talked to dad. He seemed pretty upset.

Thorne: Well, you know how it gets when we're gearing up for a fashion show. It's a little tense. I mean, mother and dad

Ridge: Yeah, I'm sure that's it, Thorne.

Felicia: No, no, no. This seemed different. Dad seemed different. I just can't put my finger on it.

Donna: First, I seduce your son. And then I... I fall into bed with you. Maybe you're starting to think that Stephanie was right about me. But last night... it wasn't like that. I didn't expect to just... you know, why don't-- just--just go. Please, just go.

Eric: What, and--and-- and just walk away from one of the most intriguing women I've ever met?

Eric: I'd be crazy to do that, or-- or stupid-- as stupid as Stephanie says I am. Donna, I'm-- I'm not going anywhere. Look, um... (inhales deeply) yesterday was wonderful. Last night was... amazing. But that's n-- not the reason I'm here. That's not the only reason I'm here. I'm here because I want to be here. I-I-I like you. I like you very, very much. Way too much to disrespect you like that. I-I'm surprised that... that--that you would think that of me.

Jackie: We gotta shake things up, and no one is better at that than you, Brooke.

Brooke: I'm sorry I wasn't more help with this collection.

Nick: It's the designs that aren't any help.

Clarke: Hey!

Nick: We produced 150 gowns in your last collection. We now have 151 collecting dust at Jackie M. The help didn't even want the sample off the mannequin.

Clarke: Listen, Captain Marone it may say "Forrester" over the door, but it's still Clarke Garrison behind the sketch pad.

Nick: Obviously, by these designs.

Brooke: All right, all right, we're all frustrated, but that doesn't mean we have to knock each other down here.

Jackie: Have you read this article? I mean, not only are we losing money, we're losing face.

Nick: That will change when we hit them with the trademark infringement lawsuit.

Jackie: That's a mistake. If we go after the Forrester name, all that's gonna do is generate more sympathy for Eric and his family. It's gonna make us look weak, and everyone will know that we can't beat them on the runway.

Clarke: Is that right?

Jackie: Yes! So we have to beat them in the bedroom. (Laughs) everyone's saying there's only room for one foresters in the fashion world. So let's embrace what sets Forrester creations apart. It's Brooke--Brooke Logan and her world-famous sex appeal.

Eric: Well, I'm disappointed, actually. Not in you. Disappointed in myself, 'cause I-I clearly didn't, uh, make it as apparent as I wanted to yesterday... to you how special I think you are.

Donna: I'm the woman who used your son to get back at your wife.

Eric: No. No, that's-- that's Stephanie's version of things, not mine.

Donna: So do you just want to torture her or something?

Eric: I want to spend more time with you... more time like yesterday. I want to... talk, be honest, no agenda, no--no plans. Just talk to you. It's been a long time since I've done that. I mean, to listen and have somebody listen to me? Kind of reminds me of the man I used to be, you know? And he was way too smart to walk away from... a woman as extraordinary as you are.

Ridge: Thank you, ladies. Back down to the showroom ASAP. Thanks.

Felicia: Hey!

Ridge: So?!

Phoebe: They're beautiful.

Thorne: That is some of your best work ever, Ridge, and I mean that.

Ashley: Forrester creations doesn't stand a chance, honey.

Felicia: No. We could beat the competition with one arm tied behind our backs. But hey, what the heck? Let's drop an anvil on their heads.

Ridge: Hey, if that's what it takes for Nick to get the message he doesn't belong in this business.

Rick: But my mom does, and as long as she's working for them, I don't think we should underestimate anybody.

Ashley: Actually, the trades have been speculating on that.

Felicia: Especially if Nick puts Brooke front and center. He could capitalize on her fame and sex appeal.

Thorne: (Scoffs) it's worked for us enough times.

Ridge: That's not gonna happen. Brooke's in a very different place in her life right now.

Rick: But she still has the respect of the industry.

Ridge: And she'll always have mine. Look, our collection beats anything they could possibly produce. I think it's time we stop thinking of Forrester Creations as the competition, because clearly they are not.

Nick: You're talking about reviving the bedroom line?

Jackie: It's a proven winner, Nicky.

Clarke: It's an attitude. Sexy. Fun. Unbridled.

Jackie: Send them in, please. And that is how we are gonna save this company-- with designs. Good designs. Like these.

Nick: I didn't approve a new collection.

Jackie: I simply updated two of the bedroom line's most popular designs.

Clarke: They're beautiful.

Jackie: And that's how our clients are gonna feel when they're wearing them. After a hard day at the office, driving the kids around all day, a woman deserves to feel like a woman.

Nick: So I see you've been working on an ad campaign, too, mother.

Jackie: Forrester Originals are designing gowns for celebrities or royalty, for God's sake. We need to sell our clients a more personal kind of luxury. Thank you, ladies. That's it.

Nick: I don't like it.

Jackie: Nicky, Brooke is who our clients want to be. She is proof that you can have it all-- that you can have kids, you can have a career, that you don't have to give up your sexuality. No, no, there it is, peeking out from under the apron, the business suit.

Brooke: You embody that as much as I do, Jackie.

Jackie: But you've got a track record. You are the label.

Nick: Not anymore.

Jackie: The brand suffered with Donna as spokesperson.

Brooke: I'm just not sure that I'm comfortable stepping back into that position.

Jackie: But why not, Brooke? A few months ago, you and Nicky thought it was a brilliant idea.

Nick: It's not the answer we're looking for, mother.

Clarke: No offense, but what's the point of having Brooke Logan at Forrester if you're gonna keep her hidden behind a desk?

Jackie: Brooke, you are this company's most exciting asset. You should be out front and center.

Nick: No. We're not reviving the bedroom line. That's final.

Brooke: Can I speak to Nick alone, please?

Jackie: Talk some sense into him.

Brooke: Maybe she's right.

Nick: It's not happening. I'm not gonna let you do it. Not after what you've been through.

Eric: Did I say something wrong?

Donna: You just called me an extraordinary woman.

Eric: You are.

Donna: (Laughs) I-I don't know how to respond to that.

Eric: Oh, well, if you think this is some kind of a come-on, it's not.

Donna: No, I... I think you're crazy.

Eric: Why? Because I think you're wonderful?

Donna: I'm not used to getting compliments like that.

Eric: Well, you should be.

Donna: I don't know what to say.

Eric: Say you'll have dinner with me tonight.

Donna: Yes, yes.

Eric: Yeah?

Donna: (Laughs)

Eric: Good.

Eric: Okay. I'll see you at 7:00.

Donna: You're leaving?

Eric: Yes, actually. I'm feeling very inspired. I'm gonna go to the office.

Donna: Oh! Oh, my God. The office. The office! Jackie called an emergency meeting. Ah!

Eric: She did? An emergency meeting? That's good. That must mean that rumors of my collection have your bosses in a tizzy.

Donna: Well, I probably should not be telling you this, but if your line is as good as I've heard, you are gonna have Forrester Creations on the ropes.

Eric: Wouldn't surprise me a bit okay, one more thing.

Ridge: Well, that went well.

Ashley: You think? It would have been nice to tell your dad about the engagement, wouldn't it?

Ridge: I left a message with his assistant. I don't know why he didn't show up.

Ashley: Well, maybe he's off somewhere with your mom.

Ridge: Not unless she kidnapped him. She did that with Brooke, you know.

Ashley: No, I didn't know. Um, okay, but speaking of Brooke, she, uh, paid me a visit.

Ridge: When?

Ashley: Yesterday. In the lab. She said she was looking for you.

Ridge: I was afraid that might happen.

Ashley: You know, she's not giving up on you.

Ridge: Look, she's going through a lot of things right now...

Ashley: (Groans)

Ridge: You know? But she'll get through it. She's back at work. She'll be focusing on her career and her kids from now on.

Ashley: So what are you saying? She's gonna be too busy to pursue you?

Ridge: She’s one of the most passionate executives in this business. She loves Forrester Creations. Now that she's back at work, she'll find herself again.

Ashley: But for how long? I mean, if what you say is true, that Creations is teetering on the brink.

Ridge: She's the only thing they've got. She knows that. She's not gonna let Creations go down without a fight, that's for sure, so whatever Nick has planned, she's gonna be right in the middle of it.

Brooke: This company's at stake, Nick.

Nick: I'm not gonna let you do something that might hurt you.

Brooke: Maybe it won't.

Nick: You're not doing it. You haven't healed yet. For God's sake, Brooke, you need time with this.

Brooke: And what if the monster has changed me? If he's scared me? Made me ashamed of who I really am?

Nick: You have nothing to be ashamed of.

Brooke: But, Nick, that's what I... I'm thinking about. I mean, that's what's in my head how do I just shut it out? Do I sit behind a desk for the rest of my life, or do I put myself out there in the spotlight like that sexy, confidant man I really am? And I'm not afraid to show it.

Brooke: I don't want this company to fail. And it doesn't have to. I need to do this, Nick. And I'm not just doing it for the business. But I'm doing it for myself. I can't let this bastard steal any more from me than he already has. I have to get myself back. The person that I know. Who I am--Brooke Logan. I need that back. I'm gonna get out there on that runway. I can do this.
