Brooke: (Screaming)

Andy: Did you miss me?

Brooke: Somebody help me! Help! (Screams) No! Stop it! (Screams) (Groans) (Panting)

(Door closes)

Ridge: It's okay, Logan. It's just me. I took the kids to school. Fortunately, they both love their new teachers.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Ridge: Of course, if it was up to R.J., we'd still be up at Big Bear. I had to promise him we'd go back real soon. Until then, all you are staying here with me, okay? Till we find that lowlife that fed the information about you to that jerk. (Sighs) I know you're probably not gonna feel completely safe until we do find him, but don't worry. We will. I've hired a private investigator. We're gonna find him, I promise you, and soon.

Katie: You know, I shouldn't have come, not after what happened yesterday.

Stephanie: No! No, I--look. (Sighs) you--you saved my son a lot of unhappiness, and I really wanted to express my gratitude, to say thank you and to tell you that you have my respect.

Katie: You want to thank me for interfering in my sister's life?

Stephanie: You did the right thing, Katie. I guess it proves that not all of the Logan girls are opportunists. I mean, who knew?

Katie: Okay, I'm going. This was a mistake.

Stephanie: No! No, no, no, no. The mistake-- the mistake was Donna's for preying on his loneliness. Come on.

Katie: Stephanie, I'm not gonna stand here and let you belittle my sister. She may not be speaking to me right now, but she is family.

Stephanie: (Laughs) oh, you're the lucky one. I got a tongue-lashing, and let me tell you, it was quite a scene. There she was in her underwear--

Katie: I mean it. I'm serious. My family is very important to me, as yours is to you. I mean, if I was standing here bad-mouthing Felicia or Kristen or heaven forbid Ridge, you wouldn't tolerate it. Now I don't know what made Donna do what she did yesterday. Maybe if our families had learned to coexist years ago, it never would have happened. I think we should all learn a lesson from this. Maybe we can move beyond the blame and--and the bitterness. Next time you see my sister Brooke, you might want to think about that.

Stephanie: Don't make me regret the fact that I asked you over here to thank you.

Katie: You really want to thank me? Make amends with Brooke and Donna.

Stephanie: Well... Brooke never gives up. How can I do that? She never gives up. Just as I think my son is--is headed down the right path, she does something, and I can't figure out what it is that she's done.

Katie: Oh, which brings us to why I'm really here. You're hoping that Brooke confided in me, and I will again do the decent thing and spill my guts. My God, Stephanie, could you be more obvious?

Ridge: (Sighs)

Andy: Brooke was served up to me on a silver platter. (Laughs maliciously)

Ridge: What are you telling me, you had an accomplice?

Andy: That's right. That's right. How do you think I got this?

Ridge: Who helped you? Who set up Brooke?

Andy: You'll never believe me, not in a million years.

Ridge: Yeah, I've been on hold for about two weeks here. I realize that. Just put him on. Ed, did you get the names I e-mailed to you? I want you to check 'em out, every one of 'em-- landscapers, pool guys, whoever was on the property and had access to the house. No, not by tomorrow. I need it today by noon at the latest. I don't care how many guys it takes. You hire an army if you have to. The longer we wait to find out who tipped this guy off the longer Brooke's-- just call me the second you know anything. Thank you.

Brooke: No leads?

Ridge: He's the best PI in town. He'll come through. Sweetheart, it's gonna be okay.

Brooke: No, Ridge, it's not gonna be okay, not while that person is still out there. Now I-I know that you're doing everything you possibly can to keep me safe, but I'm not going to be safe! (Voice breaking) not until that person that helped... (normal voice) just find him, please. Please, Ridge, just find him.

Ridge: Yeah.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Stephanie: This isn't going the way I'd hoped.

Katie: Surprise! I'm not some gullible schoolgirl.

Stephanie: I know you're not. And whether you believe it or not, I had no ulterior motive in asking you over. Your sister's name just came up. It always does. But to be perfectly honest, I am trying to figure out what she could have said or done that's got-- that has gotten Ridge this way.

Katie: Well, she didn't cast a spell over him, Stephanie.

Stephanie: But she worked him somehow.

Katie: Why must you always think the worst about my sister?

Stephanie: You really want me to answer that?

Katie: Look, I've talked to Brooke. I've seen her. She's obviously going through something. Ridge is helping her.

Stephanie: (Laughs) oh, Katie. She's always going through something. That's her life. It's one big drama after another. I mean, that's what I don't want for Ridge. I don't want him to get sucked back into all of that angst. Look, he's dating a really nice girl, Ashley. They're really compatible.

Katie: Compatible? Oh, how boring! What about passion? What about history? What about a child that Brooke and Ridge created out of their love? I mean, what's so wrong with Brooke wanting to keep her family together?

Stephanie: She had her chance, okay? She walked away, and this--this cycle has just got to come to an end.

Katie: What are you planning?

Stephanie: I-I left Ridge a few messages. He hasn't called me back.

Katie: He took his family to Big Bear.

Stephanie: Well, that's another thing. He should have been here for his brother's wedding.

Katie: And that would have changed things how?

Stephanie: That's not my point.

Katie: No, your point Brooke lured him to Big Bear under the pretext of spending some time with his children.

Stephanie: You know, it's never about the children. It never is. It's always about Brooke trying to wheedle her way back into his life, and I don't want that to happen again.

Ridge: Don't worry, Logan. We'll find out who this is. Until then, I'm not leaving your side. That should delight the hell out of my mother.

Brooke: (Sighs) she can't know the reason why, Ridge. She can't know anything that happened.

Ridge: No, of course not. Of course not. I won't say anything.

Brooke: You can't say anything to Ashley either. I know that she's important to you, but...

Ridge: Look, right now, all that matters is making sure you're safe, okay? (Cell phone ringing)

Ridge: Maybe that's Ed. (Rings)

Brooke: (Sighs)

Ridge: It's mother. She must have left a dozen messages already. (Rings)

Brooke: Maybe you should pick it up. She's probably worried about you. (Rings)

Ridge: Hello, Mother.

Stephanie: Are you purposefully ignoring me, or are you just not allowed to answer the telephone?

Ridge: How did I know those would be the first words out of your mouth?

Stephanie: And going up-- going away up to the mountains and not coming here for your brother's wedding yesterday? Really.

Ridge: Look, I spoke with Thorne. He understands that we needed some family time.

Stephanie: Family time my foot, Ridge! Brooke's just using those children again.

Ridge: Mother, just drop it, will you? You don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Stephanie: I know that the kids would be better off living with you than with her.

Ridge: I disagree, and that's why I dropped the custody battle.

Stephanie: And you'll live to regret it, believe me.

Ridge: Listen, those kids are my responsibility-- mine and Brooke, okay? So for the last time, just butt out!

Stephanie: Is that what, uh, Ashley is supposed to do as well, just stay out of it? You know, honey, you can't treat a girl like that that way and expect to hold on to her.

Ridge: I will talk with her.

Stephanie: What are you gonna tell her, that Brooke got to you again? That you were taken in yet again? Tell me something. What did she do this time that she was able to wrap you right around her little finger?

Ridge: Buh-bye.

Brooke: (Sighs) she'll never stop attacking me!

Ridge: Oh, don't worry about her. The only person we need to concern yourself with is whoever tipped that bastard off about this key.

Stephanie: Ugh!

Katie: That went well.

Ridge: I keep going over and over this in my head, and the same questions keep popping up. How did that scum get your address in the first place to deliver that bird? How did he know that you were even home at that time by yourself? And how'd he find out about this? Logan, I know you don't really want to think about this, but if you can come up with anything--anything at all, it might help.

Brooke: Ridge, I've tried, believe me. But every time I think about his face leering down at me and him pushing himself on top of me, I just-- I just want to forget. I want to forget an animal like that even existed.

Ridge: I know. I know. (Sighs)

Brooke: (Sighs)

Ridge: Not to mention the help that he got from that accomplice. The question I want to find out is how and when were they in contact when we-- wait a minute. Why didn't I think of this before?

Brooke: What?

Ridge: The bartender at Café Russe. He told me that Andy left his cell phone at the bar there. Well, Andy never got a chance to retrieve his cell phone. If the bartender's still got it, we could check the contacts. We could check the log. Maybe... the number of the accomplice might be in there, Logan. This could be it. This could be the break we're lookin' for.

Brooke: Ridge, you've gotta get that bartender to give you that phone.

Ridge: Oh, man. But I-I don't want to leave you here alone.

Brooke: No, it's okay. I'll lock the door. I'll turn on the alarm, but you've gotta go find out who helped that bastard! And when you do--

Ridge: Oh, don't worry. He'll get what he deserves. Okay, come on. Put on the alarm.

Brooke: Okay. Good luck. (Sighs) (alarm beeps)

Katie: Obviously, you forgot I was still here.

Stephanie: Why? I just-- I-I can't figure out why he-- he cannot see her the way I do.

Katie: Maybe it's because Ridge doesn't share your tunnel vision when it comes to my sister. And whatever you think Brooke has done, she does share a child-- your grandchild-- with Ridge. Maybe it's not so smart to ridicule her to him like that.

Stephanie: Right.

Katie: Why can't you just accept that Brooke and Ridge didn't come to the wedding because they're finding their way back to each other.

Stephanie: Oh, stop. Don't even go there! She's deluding herself if she thinks she's gonna get back together with him. He belongs with Ashley. That's what's going to happen.

Katie: Isn't that just wishful thinking on your part?

Katie: Where are you going? Oh, for God's sake, Stephanie! For once, just stay out of it.

Katie: (Sighs) (door closes)

Man: Well, that's it for this run. See you next week.

Pete: What, you're not gonna hang out, help me restock?

Man: Sorry, dude. I just deliver the stuff. Later.

Pete: (Scoffs)

Ridge: Pete, thank God! I didn't know if you'd be in this morning.

Pete: Something I can do for you, Mr. Forrester?

Ridge: I need to talk to you about Andy Johnson.

Pete: The guy who got zapped up on the roof?

Ridge: Yeah. You said before he left his cell phone here. Do you still have it?

Pete: Why?

Ridge: I can't explain. I don't have time to do that. Just do you have his cell phone, or not?

Katie: Yeah, I got it. I'll take care of it. Bye.

Felicia: Mother, you home? I called the off--

Katie: She's not here.

Felicia: Yeah. Why are you here?

Katie: Well, I'm here by special invitation, courtesy of your mother.

Felicia: Uh... excuse me, didn't you just say that my mo--

Katie: She's left, yeah. She left me here all by myself to wreak whatever havoc I may.

Felicia: Excuse me? My mother left you, a Logan, standing alone in our living room?

Katie: Well, in all fairness, I don't think she was on top of her game.

Felicia: Why'd she invite you here?

Katie: She wanted to thank me for saving Thorne from Donna, but I think she had another agenda.

Felicia: Ahh... something to do with the evil Brooke, I guess?

Katie: Felicia, aren't you sick of all this?

Felicia: What, precisely?

Katie: Your mother's obsession with Brooke, and it is an obsession.

Felicia: I hardly need you to diagnose my mother's neuroses.

Katie: Surely you don't think this type of behavior is normal.

Felicia: Ha ha... normal isn't a word I often use in conjunction with my mother.

Katie: She stormed out of here, desperate to find Brooke and keep her from "Getting her claws into Ridge." I mean, really, can't she leave them alone?

Felicia: That will never happen, Katie.

Katie: You may not believe this, but I think your mother has a bit of a soft spot when it comes to me. Maybe we could work together.

Felicia: My mother has her heart set on ridge being with Ashley. And to tell you the truth--

Katie: Don't you think that should be Ridge's decision?

Felicia: How well do you know my mother?

Katie: I think we should end this senseless war between our families.

Felicia: Oh, Katie. (Laughing) actually, I can't disagree.

Katie: So you'll help me?

Felicia: Ehh... how?

Katie: Get Stephanie to back off. If Ridge wants to be with Ashley, let him choose Ashley. It shouldn't be Stephanie's decision. And believe me, I am not pushing for a relationship between Brooke and Ridge.

Felicia: Yeah? You sure about that?

Katie: Actually, I think Brooke should move on. But that, of course, is not my decision to make. She'... going through something right now, and Ridge is... helping her.

Felicia: Yeah, I know, which is why my mother is so upset. She sees it happening all over again.

Katie: All of this fighting is not gonna help either one of our families, and it's just gonna get worse. Felicia, your mother's out of control.

Pete: I'm pretty sure it's still around here someplace.

Ridge: Do you remember where?

Pete: It's probably in the office. Be right back.

Ed: Any luck?

Ridge: Hey, Ed. The bartender's checking in the office right now. Thanks for gettin' here so quickly.

Ed: You're welcome. Not a problem. When you called, I dropped everything. Johnson's cell phone could be a gold mine.

Ridge: Yeah, let's hope we have one name we need in there.

Ed: Speaking of which, I got my top people working on this list you sent. Talking to the landscape and pool crews right now... not that the person who tipped off Johnson about that key is just gonna come forward.

Ridge: Yeah, but if there is a name or a number in there in that phone log, that'll prove a connection, right?

Ed: Yeah.

Pete: It was in the office lockbox for safekeeping. Probably should have turned it over to the cops, but...

Ridge: May I?

Pete: Why exactly do you need it, anyway? Ah, forget I asked. I gotta get this stock back up in the storeroom before I get fried by my boss.

Ridge: What do you think the chance is this thing has a charge? Damn. It's dead.

Ed: Let me see that. I have this phone. I think I've got a spare battery in the car. Be right back.

Ridge: Okay. (Ring)

Brooke: Hello?

Ridge: Logan, it's me.

Brooke: Ah, Ridge. What's happening?

Ridge: Good news. I've got Andy Johnson's cell phone.

Brooke: That's wonderful. Well, do you know anything yet?

Ridge: No, nothing yet. Got a little charge problem. We're gettin' a spare battery. Look, soon as we get this baby turned on, we're gonna have our answer, Logan.

Brooke: Do you think? Really?

Ridge: Yeah, I can feel it. It's all lookin' good.

Brooke: I don't know what I would do without you. I don't know how I'd get through this.

Ridge: Now just hang in there. It's just a matter of time.

Brooke: I will. Thanks for calling.

Ridge: Great. (Breathes deeply)

Ed: (Clears throat) all right, I think that'll do it.

Ridge: Okay. (Phone beeps)

Ridge: Here we go. Let's find that SOB's accomplice.
