Donna: Jackie and I just sat down. If you leave now, we can order you something.

Brooke: It's been frantic all morning. I'm just trying to tie up my notes from my conference call with China. So, why don't you two go ahead? Eat without me. Jackie has my input.

Donna: Are you okay?

Brooke: Just busy.

Donna: You didn't sleep again last night, did you? You miss the kids.

Brooke: I try not to think about it.

Donna: Look, you want me to bring you something? A salad or -- you're going to eat something, promise me. Okay, good. I love you. Bye.

Jackie: Sounds like Brooke is in a bad way.

Donna: All thanks to Stephanie. God, I hate that woman. If there's any justice in this world, she'll get hers. Maybe sooner than she thinks.

Phoebe: So, what's the big news?

Constantine: Duh, the Boldface Challenge.

Phoebe: What?

Constantine: Yeah, remember? The promoter I mentioned?

Phoebe: The guy who wanted to do the contest?

Constantine: Yes, it's official. We're doing it. It's going to be amazing. He created the coolest page for my website. And the whole world's going to see and it's going to put my label on the map. You and me, versus, you and Rick. Come on, let me show you.

Rick: Hey.

Brooke: How you doing?

Rick: How do I look? Mom, Phoebe is so upset. And I know I'm the reason for that, and she was totally justified with breaking up with me, but I want her back. I just -- I need to get through to her, mom. I need to somehow figure out a way to let her know how sorry I am. And that we belong together.

Brooke: Don't be angry at me for saying this.

Rick: Go ahead.

Brooke: You and Phoebe -- I don't think it's the best thing for either one of you to be together.

Jackie: Where are those projections? I mean, I know I had them in here, New York, London -- where's Milan? They're not in that folder that I gave -- Donna? I'm concerned about her, too.

Donna: I'm sorry, what?

Jackie: It doesn't sound like Brooke is taking proper care of herself.

Donna: She isn't. Stephanie is still causing damage and you know that's not going to stop.

Jackie: Better warn your sister to stay off balconies.

Bartender: Everything good here?

Jackie: Delicious, thank you as usual.

Bartender: Did your friend make it home the other night? The dude was pretty out of it.

Donna: Yeah. Yeah, I managed.

Jackie: Friend?

Donna: I ran into Thorne. He was drunk, so you know, I took him home.

Jackie: You helped a Forrester?

Donna: Yeah, you know, you're right. What was I thinking? I should've left him passed out under the bar with the peanut shells.

Jackie: Donna, Donna, please, don't take offense to this. But you are not exactly a Good Samaritan. So, what is this really about? Why go out of your way to help Thorne -- any of those people? Let me guess. Helping Thorne has something to do with getting back at Stephanie?

Rick: Mom, that is absolutely the last thing that I want to hear right now.

Brooke: I realize that.

Rick: I've been up all night. I'm a mess. I've been thinking about what an idiot I've been. Running to Ashley. For what? For comfort? Please -- I should -- I should have realized that what Phoebe and I had -- it could have worked out.

Brooke: Honey, you and Phoebe are at completely different stages of your lives. Now for you, that would mean going backwards and that's got to be frustrating.

Rick: Yeah. Yeah, but Phoebe's worth it.

Brooke: I see you both struggling so hard to make things fit. Well, it shouldn't be that way. A couple should be more than two halves of a whole. They should be two whole people coming together and bringing all of themselves to a relationship.

Rick: You know, I know that in my head, yeah, I know that.

Brooke: But your heart tells you something different?

Rick: Yeah.

Brooke: Well, was it your head or your heart that got you involved in this horrendous situation with Amber? Because I certainly wouldn't want to wish that on you or Phoebe.

Rick: Mom, that's totally different, come on.

Brooke: Because you weren't sleeping together?

Rick: Well, yeah, I guess. But Phoebe isn't -- she's not ready for that. And I respect that.

Brooke: Well, it can't be easy for you.

Rick: It's not. Believe me.

Brooke: But honey, love is easy. It's not hard and frustrating and out of sync. Then when things like that happen, that just means that that person isn't the right person for you. Or maybe the timing's off.

Rick: Look, I'm sorry, Mom, but I'm just really getting tired of people telling me that Phoebe is not right for me. Because she is right for me. And she's worth going through whatever I have to go through to be with her.

Constantine: See? The promoter created this really cool page on my website. Look, he even uploaded the songs that we recorded, the duets. So people can just log on and vote for their favorite duet.

Phoebe: So, the whole world gets to pick?

Constantine: It's sweet, huh? No more ties. Just log onto boldfacerecords.com, listen to the songs, and vote for the one you like the best. Ours or yours and Rick's.

Phoebe: Sounds great.

Constantine: I haven't even told you the best part yet.

Phoebe: There's more?

Constantine: Oh, yeah. August 24th, we're throwing a huge concert. It's going to be amazing. You know, I'm going to showcase some of the acts that I'm developing. And you, my dear, are going to be the main attraction. And who you're going to sing the final number with.

Phoebe: Wait, so I might be on stage live singing with Rick, in front of hundreds of people?

Constantine: Come on, it's unlikely. You know we're going to win. What's wrong? I thought you'd be more excited.

Phoebe: I can't do this.

Constantine: Can't do what?

Phoebe: Can't sing with Rick. I can -- I can barely look at him, let alone sing with him.

Constantine: Wait a second -- what you are talking about? What happened?

Phoebe: The other woman? Miss "au revoir?" You and Dad were right. Rick slept with her and we had barely been broken up for a day.

Stephanie: I think we'll have one apple juice for the gentlemen, and a papaya smoothie for my granddaughter and I'll have an espresso.

Waitress: I'll get those right away, then take your order.

Stephanie: Thank you very much.

Donna: Hey, sunshine --

Hope: Hey, Aunt Donna.

Donna: Are you having some lunch?

Hope: Yep.

Stephanie: What are you going to have for lunch, tiger?

R.J.: I want pah-sketti.

Donna: Pah-sketti, huh? Is that even on the menu?

Hope: Stephanie, can I watch them make our smoothies?

R.J.: Me, too.

Stephanie: Well, I guess you can. But go right here where I can keep my eye on you now.

Donna: Why do you have the kids yet again? They're supposed to be with Ridge.

Stephanie: He's at work.

Donna: And you're only too happy to play mommy?

Stephanie: You know what? I think I'll get our drinks to go and find a place that has a better clientele.

Donna: You may think that you have custody, but you don't. Ridge does.

Stephanie: And he asked me to take care of them. Because he knows they're safe with me.

Donna: And they aren't with their own mother?

Stephanie: Not according to child protective services or the court --

Donna: This is not about the safety of those children. This is about your hatred and your sick need to control --

Stephanie: Donna, please, just go away. Go back to your table and glare at me from over there. Go on.

Donna: You think you can just wave your hand and dismiss me? Brooke deserves some respect.

Stephanie: Brooke is in no state of mind to take care of those children. But when and if she --

Donna: If?

Stephanie: Donna, the cold, hard truth of this is that those children are better off with my family. And you know what? In a way, it's better for Brooke. She won't be tied down by them. She can go back to her whoring ways. Don't you ever do that.

Constantine: Look, I know you wanted to believe this thing with Rick and whoever didn't go that far.

Phoebe: I guess I was just being naive.

Constantine: No, come on. He knew you trusted him. He betrayed that trust.

Phoebe: Yeah. Uh, anyway, now that you know what's going on and hopefully you understand why I can't be on stage with him. What? What?

Constantine: The thing is, Phoebe, I mean, this thing is like, in motion already. You know, the venue's booked. Tickets are already being sold. I mean, the website's blowing up. It's getting, like thousands of hits. Look. You know, the Boldface Challenge. I mean, it already has our duet. It has yours and Rick's duet as well. And people are able to log on and vote for their favorite --

Phoebe: So, I might have to sing a love song, with Rick, in front of hundreds of people?

Constantine: Phoebe, this contest, this live performance -- I mean, this could be your shot. This is -- this is going to be huge for you. You know, don't let him take that away from you. It could make you a big star. Come on, talk to your friends. Tell your friends about it. Tell them to vote for Phoebe and Constantine. You know, teach him a lesson.

Phoebe: Since when do you and I need to stuff a ballot box to win?

Constantine: That's the spirit. All right, so you'll do this?

Phoebe: I'll do it.

Constantine: Yes. Thank you. Come here. That's my girl. Are you all right? Do you want me to talk to Rick, you know, so you don't have to?

Phoebe: No, I'll talk to him. It's okay. Thank you.

Constantine: You're making the right decision. I promise. You won't regret it.

Stephanie: Don't ever do anything like that again. Go back over to your table where you belong. And remember that there is absolutely nothing that you can do that will ever hurt me.

[Cell phone rings]

Donna: Hello.

Thorne: Hi, it's Thorne. Don't hang up.

Donna: What is it?

Thorne: Listen, Donna, about last night, I really -- I feel bad, okay? And where are you?

Donna: Bikini Beach. Just forget about that, okay? Oh, wait, you already did.

Thorne: Listen, if I come there, will you wait for me?

Donna: What's the point?

Thorne: Because we need to talk, okay? Have you eaten yet? Look, I'll buy you lunch.

Donna: Look, it's really just not necessary --

Thorne: Donna, please, just give me a chance to make things right, okay?

Donna: Okay.

Thorne: Great. I'm on my way.

Stephanie: Poor sucker you're trying to reel in now.

Donna: You're saying there's nothing I can do to hurt you? The way you hurt Brooke?

Stephanie: Donna, you can't win with me.

Donna: Look, I know what you're after. You want this to be permanent. Full custody for Ridge. Visitation for Brooke.

Stephanie: I think that would be best for the children. And don't tangle with me. It will just make things worse for your sister.

Donna: Brooke will get Hope and R.J. back. Nothing I do is going to mess that up for her. Not like you messed with her and Ridge. You know, they would be happy right now if it weren't for you. You have no idea how good you had it with Brooke.

Stephanie: Really? I thought she was the daughter-in-law from hell.

Donna: You could have done a lot worse than my sister, Stephanie. A lot worse. Maybe someday you'll realize that.

Stephanie: Is that a threat? If it is, I'm trembling.

Phoebe: Okay, so I'll just -- I'll tell my grandfather that this crisscross thing needs to be taken up a little bit.

[Knock on the door]

Rick: Excuse me? Hi, ladies. Take five. I need to speak with Phoebe for a second.

Phoebe: We're working.

Rick: This is important.

Phoebe: Can you just try on the two other dresses, please?

Model: No problem.

Phoebe: Thank you. What is so important that you have to interrupt?

Rick: We are. Us.

Phoebe: There is no us. Not anymore. I told you last night. It's over.

Rick: Phoebe, it is not over. Will you -- listen to me. It is never going to be over for me.

Phoebe: Rick, stop -- I can't do this. I can't do this.

Rick: You can't keep avoiding me forever.

Phoebe: You're right. I can't. Because of something Constantine did.

Jackie: Well, I think we've covered everything.

Donna: Good thing. My concentration is shot.

Jackie: If I knew you were going to get this upset, I wouldn't have allowed you to go and confront her highness.

Donna: Stephanie gets away with whatever she wants. But she won't be doing that with me. Even the Forresters have their weak spot. And I know just where it is.

Jackie: By the Forresters' weak spot -- you don't mean

Donna: No comment.

Jackie: You and Thorne?

Donna: It's perfect, isn't it?

Jackie: Donna -- how far are you going to take this?

Donna: Jackie, the less you know, the better. Just get the check, will you? I'll see you back at the office -- sometime.

Thorne: Hey, thanks for waiting.

Donna: I have no idea why.

Thorne: Come on, let's get a table.

Donna: Look Thorne, what are we doing? I'm humiliated enough as it is. I fell into bed with you. Something I never do. And you don't even remember it!

Thorne: I had too much to drink, okay. I know that's not an excuse. But, you know what? Let me make it up to you, okay? Let me take you to dinner.

Donna: Why, so you can have another go with a clear conscience?

Thorne: No! Come on, that's not where I'm coming from at all.

Donna: No matter what your mother says about me, I am not a slut.

Thorne: I would never, ever say that, Donna. Now please, come on. Let's -- let me take you out. We'll paint this town. Come on.

Donna: All right.

Thorne: Yeah?

Donna: Okay.

Thorne: Great. You're not going to regret it. I promise you that.

Rick: When's the concert?

Phoebe: August 24th. I just -- I wish Constantine would have said something to me before he and that promoter got everything started.

Rick: I'm glad you agreed to do it. Because I know, together -- together, Phoebe, that we can win this thing. 'Cause, listen to me, the way I see it, I can win you back in the process. 'Cause a vote for us, it's not just a vote for the song that we sing. It's a vote for you and me. Phoebe, listen to me, this is my chance. This is my chance to prove to you how much I love you. And to show you how important you are to me. How right we are for each other. Because we are. We're just starting out. Fine. You know, you can give me that face, but it's true. Hey, look at me. I am going to spend my lifetime loving you.
