Nick: These are the revised sales projections for third quarter. We took a real beating the first half of the year with the takeover, but as you can see, things are starting to look up.

Brooke: It could be better.

Nick: Well, that's where I'm hoping you come in.

Brooke: I'm an expert at marketing, so I hope you'll keep an open mind to my ideas.

Nick: Open mind and an open budget.

Brooke: Hmm -- smart man.

Nick: Thank you. I like the way you think.

Brooke: It's not going to be easy, though. Forrester name has become so diluted.

Nick: That's the challenge here. We basically have to recreate this entire company.

Brooke: And that all begins with the designs. And unfortunately for us, Eric and ridge the best designers in the business. Clarke, however --

Nick: No, forget about Clarke. He's dated. I've known it for a while.

Brooke: Oh.

Nick: Basically looking to get an entire new designer.

Brooke: It would have to be somebody perfect. Somebody with a lot of experience. Somebody who could work well with you -- knows what you're looking for before you even know.

Nick: Well my strength here is finance; I'll be the first to admit it. I really don't know a whole lot about the design process.

Brooke: I think I could help you there. I have somebody in mind.

Nick: Who?

Brooke: Me.

Felicia: Please try not to worry, Daddy.

Eric: Don't worry? With Brooke teaming up with Nick?

Felicia: Hey, we don't know for sure that Nick's hired her.

Eric: Sweetheart, Nick may be a lot of things, but he's not stupid. He'd be a fool to pass up somebody with Brooke's expertise. Well, I hope you're happy, Stephanie. You've driven Brooke right into the arms of our competitor.

Stephanie: Good riddance to bad trash, I say.

Eric: Well, that's constructive.

Stephanie: Why don't you take her off the pedestal that you've put her on?

Felicia: Okay, you two, that's enough. Come on, it's not getting us anywhere. We can manage fine without Brooke. Our design team is head and shoulders above Nick's. We still have that.

Eric: Yeah, we're just going to have to pinch every penny. Have you seen the latest figures?

Stephanie: Wasn't Thorne supposed to bring us the financial report today? I haven't seen him at all. Have you?

Eric: No, no, I haven't. I haven't seen him for two days.

Felicia: Actually Aly's stayed with me the last couple days. He asked me to look after her because he's been so busy.

Eric: Maybe his personal life's picking up.

Stephanie: Well, that'd be nice. Thorne could certainly use some happiness.

Thorne: Who says I'm not happy?

Stephanie: Hi, honey. Well, look at that ensemble. A few gold chains will finish it right off.

Felicia: Big plans tonight, huh Thorney?

Thorne: Indeed you're right. Listen, can you still watch Aly?

Felicia: Sure, of course.

Stephanie: Well, would it be okay if Aly came and stayed at the house with me?

Thorne: You sure?

Stephanie: Yeah. I have the -- I have the other two kids, and Abby might come over. Do you want me to dino too?

Felicia: No, no, no. It's okay. Sounds like quite the crew. What are Ridge and Ashley doing?

Stephanie: I don't know. I hope spending some time together.

Abby: Uh-oh! You know what that means!

Ridge: Are you saying I've lost again?

Abby: You did!

Ridge: Again?

Abby: Yes!

Ridge: You kids are just too good.

Abby: We know.

Ashley: Abby.

Abby: I'm just kidding, mom. Hey, is it okay if I show Hope and R.J. the stuffed animals I got at the zoo?

Ashley: Sure thing.

Abby: Come on, guys. Let's go.

R.J.: Wait for me.

Ashley: That was fun, you loser.

Ridge: Yeah, thanks. Abby's a competitive little girl.

Ashley: I have know idea where she gets that.

Ridge: Certainly not from her mom.

Ashley: No, no. No, certainly not from her mother.

Ridge: Have I told you thank you, lately?

Ashley: For what?

Ridge: Just being so great to Hope and R.J. You have a very maternal side to you, you know that? It's made it a lot easier for them to be here.

Ashley: You think I'm maternal? I like that.

Ridge: Well not to mention, smart.

Ashley: Oh, yeah?

Ridge: Beautiful -- incredibly sexy.

Ridge: Feels right, doesn't it?

Ashley: What?

Ridge: This -- us. You and me. God, it's funny how life goes. A little while ago, a couple months ago, I was just feeling lost and confused -- and was trying to get used to the idea of being alone. Now look at us.

Ashley: Kinda makes you think it was meant to be.

Ridge: Oh, now you telling me you believe in fate?

Ashley: Maybe I do. All I know is, I came to L.A. Looking for a fresh start -- and I got a lot more. You know, I spent a lot of years just kind of -- kind of running. You know, just kind of running. And I was looking for something. Something more. I knew I needed something -- someone. I guess I don't have to run anymore.

Ridge: So all this talk about moving back to Wisconsin?

Ashley: I'm starting to feel like L.A. Is my home now. I love my job. And you Forresters have become kind of like a second family to me. And most important, my daughter is happy. I mean, she's really thriving here.

Ridge: I'm very glad you feel that way. And as far as you and me?

Ashley: I really like where that's heading. I mean, for a while there, I thought maybe you were being pulled in two different directions.

Ridge: That other direction being Brooke.

Ashley: Mm-hmm. But the more time I spend with you, the more I'm convinced that you know exactly what you want. Right?

Thorne: So Brooke is working at Forrester creations now?

Felicia: Uh, we don't know that for sure.

Eric: But Rick feels it's likely.

Thorne: Oh well, whatever. You know, Marone could hire every designer in Milan, he still couldn't compete with us. Right, Mother?

Stephanie: Absolutely, and that's just the kind of thinking I like. Positive. Taylor's not going to let Brooke work over there.

Thorne: Ah well, Taylor's judgment isn't what it used to be.

Stephanie: I'm sorry, honey. I guess it must be hard on you. Watching Taylor start a family with --

Thorne: Whatever. Taylor's moved on. As far as I'm concerned, those two deserve each other.

Nick: So, you want to be a designer?

Brooke: Yes.

Nick: A designer here at Forrester Creations?

Brooke: Is that so difficult to imagine?

Nick: Well, I know you have a lot of experience, but nothing in design.

Brooke: Look, I know it's seems like this is coming out of left field. But I've really been thinking about this. I've been studying all the latest designs, and I'm very aware of what's going on in the field. So, I think I'm really read for this. I just need somebody to give me a shot.

Nick: What about your personal life? I thought you wanted to spend a lot more time with Hope and R.J.

Brooke: I do, but since they're not with me right now -- I would rather not be at home alone. It's really quiet and I will just drive myself crazy. I need to focus on something that's productive and positive. And that would be designing.

Nick: I see. Well, let me paint this picture. You have tons of experience in the business, but nothing in design. And I need a designer because the future of this company hinges on the next two quarters. So you would like me to roll the dice on the financial future of Forrester Creations and put you, who has never designed anything, as head designer in charge of the new line?

Brooke: Yes.

Nick: We should hold off and make the announcement when the time is right.

Brooke: I can't believe this. Thank you. That's great.

Nick: I should call Taylor about this.

Brooke: Well, she said it was fine last time.

Nick: Well, that was -- that was last time.

Brooke: So you're going to call her?

Nick: No, I'm not going to call her. I think this should be in person. She had a doctor's appointment, but she should be home by now. So -- I will talk with you tomorrow.

Brooke: Yes, boss. Nick? What happened at the Marlin -- Taylor doesn't need to know about that. It's never going to happen again. I promise.

Nick: Congratulations on your new job.

Taylor: Oh --

Taylor: Oh -- hello.

Brooke: Taylor.

Taylor: I'm looking for Nick.

Brooke: Oh, well you just missed him.

Taylor: Did he say when he'll be back?

Brooke: He was heading home. If you hurry, you might be able to catch him.

Taylor: What are you doing here, Brooke?

Felicia: So who's your hot date tonight?

Thorne: Alana.

Eric: Is she one of the new models?

Thorne: Yes, she is.

Stephanie: Well, I hope you enjoy yourself.

Thorne: Well, life is short. And I'm going to make the most of it, Mother.

Stephanie: Okay, honey. Just don't forget you have a daughter and a family that love you.

Thorne: Well, don't you worry. Like I could ever forget you!

Alana: Sorry I'm late.

Thorne: No, no problem. Hey everyone, this is Alana -- Alana umm --

Alana: Miller.

Thorne: I'm sorry. I'm losing my mind in my old age. Let's go.

Felicia: So where you going?

Thorne: We're going to see Jean Claude's preview at the beach club. It's going to be a heck of a party though.

Stephanie: Have fun.

Thorne: That's the plans. Let's go.

Brooke: I stopped by to see Nick.

Taylor: I assumed that, since you're here in his office.

Brooke: He said that you had an appointment with a doctor today. Is everything all right with the baby?

Taylor: Yeah, fine.

Brooke: Why are you looking at me like that?

Taylor: I -- I don't know why you're being so nice to me.

Brooke: After what happened in the court, you mean.

Taylor: Well, yeah. You made it pretty clear that you think I'm the sole reason that you lost your children to ridge. I tried to apologize to you, I told you I was genuinely sorry.

Brooke: I miss Hope and R.J. very much. I'm going to do everything in my power to get them back as soon as possible.

Taylor: That's a very healthy attitude.

Brooke: That is why I'm making some positive changes. And I certainly hope that you're going to support me.

Taylor: What kind of positive changes?

Brooke: I got a job.

Taylor: Oh, that's great. That's great. Where are you going to be working?

Brooke: Here. I asked Nick for a job and he gave me one. I mean, he was planning on telling you. He was going to tell you tonight. Don't worry. My relationship with Nick is strictly professional. I know you're married, and I respect your marriage. And I certainly wouldn't do anything to jeopardize it. You don't believe me.

Taylor: Umm -- no. Look, I really -- I really would like to. But I'm just a little confused right now. Okay, Brooke. I mean, a lot of things have happened over the last few days and -- I just don't -- I don't think it's as simple as that. I really, I think things are way to volatile right now.

Stephanie: So you guys ready to go?

R.J. and Hope: Yep!

Stephanie: Okay. Go upstairs, get your backpacks and hurry! Because we have to pick up Alexandria.

Ashley: I think that's our cue, Abby. We gotta get outta here.

Stephanie: Get out of here? What do you mean? Didn't you tell her?

Ridge: Not yet.

Ashley: Tell me what?

Stephanie: Well, we invited Abby to come and stay over at our house tonight.

Ashley: No, you don't have to do that.

Stephanie: What do you mean? Don't be silly. Of course. We're delighted. Now don't you want an evening off?

Ashley: Well, we wouldn't want to impose.

Stephanie: It's not imposing. Believe me. Would you like to come and spend the night at my house and hang out with the kids?

Abby: I have extra clothes in the car.

Stephanie: I have extra toothbrushes at the house.

Ashley: How could I possibly say no to that?

Stephanie: You can't. It's settled. Where are you guys? Come on, we gotta go. Thank you for coming. Head to the hills, all of you.

Ashley: See you later.

Stephanie: Do you know where to get the clothes out of your mother's car?

Abby: Yep.

Stephanie: Oh, good. Have a nice evening.

Ashley: Very, very sneaky.

Ridge: don't even look at me, this was all her idea.

Ashley: Uh-huh.

Ridge: Missy, but I admit, I was looking for the opportunity to have you all to myself. Now that that's here, I intend to make good use of it.

Ashley: Oh yeah?

Ridge: Yeah.

Thorne: Thank you. Ahh. You know what, I can't stand here listening to this kind of music. Let's hit the dance floor.

Alana: After I powder my nose.

Thorne: Okay. You know what, I missed you on the last round. Here.

Waitress: Thank you sir, but it's not necessary. Jean Claude has taken care of everything.

Thorne: Oh, okay. Thank you.

Waitress: You're welcome.

Brooke: You are overreacting, Taylor.

Taylor: It's just that, of all companies you could go work for, why do you want to come back to Forrester Creations? You'd be running into your ex-husband day after day -- I'm just trying to figure that one out.

Brooke: You said that didn't bother you before. Besides, I have a history with Forrester Creations.

Taylor: I know, but that was before you told me that you were still in love with nick. Do you really think that would be healthy for you to be working around him and seeing him, knowing you can't have him? That's -- that's kind of like an alcoholic working at a bar.

Brooke: No, I can be a business partner with Nick without being more than business partner. Please, Taylor. I need this. I don't have anything positive in my life, except for my children, and I've lost them, for now.

Taylor: Well, what would you be doing around here?

Brooke: Well, I would help Nick in running most of the aspects this business. I mean, I worked here before. I know how it goes. So, I would hit the ground running. And just think of it this way -- the more responsibilities that I take on, the more Nick has time to spend with you and this wonderful little baby. It's a win-win situation for all of us.

Taylor: Okay.

Brooke: Thank you.

Taylor: I still have my concerns though, Brooke. But I also know what it's like to try to make a fresh start, and I like to think of myself as open-minded, so I think it's great.

Brooke: Well, believe me, I'm not going to do something stupid to jeopardize me getting my children back. I love them, more than anything. They're my flesh and blood. And I will fight for what is mine.

Ashley: So, when the results came back for the one-on-ones, none of the fragrances did well. So, what else can I do? I've got to pull all of them, and I have to start from scratch. It's very frustrating, but it's a lot better to do that now, then -- what? Am I talking too much?

Ridge: No.

[Ashley laughs]

Ashley: If I am, just tell me to shut up. You could just tell me to shut up.

Ridge: If I wanted to shut you up --

Ashley: Yeah?

Ridge: I'd just do this -- okay?

Ashley: Okay.

Ridge: Shut up. I meant what I said before. This last long while, I felt like --

Ashley: What?

Ridge: Nothing. Actually, yes.

Ashley: What is it?

Ridge: Why don't you just open it and find out?
