Ridge: Stop, stop, stop.

Brooke: Ridge, it's okay.

Ridge: No, it's not. We can't do this.

Brooke: Why not?

Ridge: Because it's just not a good idea.

Brooke: Don't tell me you didn't enjoy that. Ridge, please. Just stay here tonight.

Ridge: I can't.

Brooke: It'll be the way it used to be. We'll fall asleep in each other's arms. And you'll be here in the morning for R.J. I mean, what could be more perfect than that? Right?

Phoebe: Sorry, sorry. I'm sorry. Really, I know I'm late.

Constantine: It's okay. You hit traffic?

Phoebe: Uh, no. I just got caught up at a promo meeting for the fragrance and I just completely lost track of time.

Engineer: Hey, Phoebe.

Phoebe: Hi, hi.

Engineer: How's it going?

Phoebe: I'm good. Thank you.

Constantine: Was Rick at the meeting?

Phoebe: No. Why?

Constantine: Oh, I was just wondering.

Phoebe: He's not the reason I'm late, Constantine.

Constantine: Right. This time.

Phoebe: Look, you don't have to worry about Rick anymore. He's coming around. He knows how much this means to me.

Constantine: You really trust this guy?

Phoebe: Yeah.

Constantine: Even though he cheated on you?

Phoebe: We were broken up.

Constantine: Right. That makes it okay.

Phoebe: You know what, since you brought it up -- would you please get rid of that recording of the other woman on Rick's voicemail?

Constantine: What do you want me to do with it?

Phoebe: I -- just destroy it. I mean, we're over that now and I really don't want it lying around.

Constantine: Right. Out of sight, out of mind.

Phoebe: Stop making this such a big deal.

Constantine: Look, fine. Whatever. I'll toss it. I don't want to argue about Rick. I just don't want to see you get hurt.

Ashley: I should have known better. What am I saying? I did know better. It's stupid. It's just stupid to get in the middle of Ridge and Brooke.

Stephanie: You don't know that he's spending the night with her.

Ashley: I don't know that he isn't.

Stephanie: Could you try having a little faith in my son?

Ashley: The fact of the matter is, they have a child together. They have to do what's best for him. And if there's a chance that little boy could be raised in a home with both of his parents, then I'm not going to stand in the middle of that. I wouldn't be able to live with myself.

Stephanie: I respect that. But why don't you let me worry about my grandson.

Ashley: And what about Brooke?

Stephanie: Let me worry about her too. You just concentrate on Ridge.

Brooke: I know you miss being with R.J.

Ridge: Of course I miss being with him. Every time I come into this house, I think of us living together.

Brooke: We made some wonderful memories.

Ridge: They weren't all wonderful, Logan.

Brooke: And that's why we need to do it over again. Make sure that we do things right, this time. I mean, think about it, Ridge. You're here practically all the time anyway. It seems silly that you drive back and forth across town. You should be here, with R.J.

Ridge: And with you?

Brooke: Well, we have been through a lot together. And we've shared so very much. More than two people ever have. Don't walk out that door tonight, Ridge. That little boy down the hall -- he deserves to have both of his parents. And don't you think we should give him the best life possible? I know this is asking a lot, but -- wouldn't it be wonderful if we could have things the way they used to be?

Ridge: Logan, I don't disagree with what you're saying here.

Brooke: Really?

Ridge: But I have to wonder something -- where was all this concern for our son when you left me?

Brooke: I was thinking about Rick. I made a huge mistake.

Ridge: We both made mistakes. I can forgive you for walking out on me. But it's the way you just ran back to nick. I wish I could get past that. I'm sorry, I -- just can't.

Ashley: I'm not getting in the middle of this.

Stephanie: You're in the middle. So does that mean it's okay with you to lose to Brooke?

Ashley: To lose to Brooke? Look, if that's who he wants to be with, then I'm fine with it.

Stephanie: Well, I'm not. I'm not. I'm sick and tired of -- of watching that woman destroy my son's life. I want him to be with a nice woman. A woman who will respect him for who he is. A woman like you.

Ashley: That's very flattering, Stephanie. But I have to do what's right for my daughter and myself. And I'm just going to go back to Genoa City.

Stephanie: Look, that's a snap decision on your part. You've got to think --

Ashley: Maybe I would have stayed -- maybe I would have if things had worked out with Ridge. But obviously they're not going to. And I --

[Knock at the door] Ugh! Hi.

Ridge: Hey.

Ashley: What are you doing here?

Ridge: Change in plans.

Ashley: You're not going to spend the night with your son?

Ridge: I was going to but Brooke had some other things in mind. It's a long story. Mind if I come in?

Ashley: No.

Ridge: Mother?

Stephanie: Son.

Ridge: Hope I'm not interrupting.

Stephanie: No, no, no. I was just leaving. You know, you get your good taste from my side of the family. Good night, Ashley.

Ashley: Good night, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Good to see you.

Ashley: You too. So -- you were with Brooke.

Ridge: Yeah. I'm not anymore.

Ashley: And you're okay with that?

Ridge: Better than okay. Because this is where I want to be.

[Phoebe singing]

Everybody loves everybody cries everybody dreams of a perfect life and that's all right so let's get busy give it a try everybody loves somebody tonight it'll be all right some might say it's a hopeless fight like the sun coming up on a Saturday night but I say everything will be all right cause everybody loves everybody cries

Phoebe: Well?

Constantine: That was perfect. We got it. We good?

Engineer: Oh yeah, we're good. That sounded great.

Phoebe: We don't have to do it again?

Constantine: Come on. Give yourself a little credit. I think we just recorded our first hit together.

Phoebe: Are you serious?

Constantine: Yeah.

Phoebe: Oh my God! It's so cool. Hi.

Rick: Hi.

Phoebe: I didn't see you there. Hi. Did you hear the song?

Rick: I did. Yeah.

Phoebe: What'd you think?

Rick: I um -- I thought it was good.

Constantine: Easy dude. Try to hold back on the enthusiasm.

Rick: What the hell do you want me to say?

Constantine: You could at least try to be excited for Phoebe's sake.

Rick: Excited? Excited that you're trying to transform her into some pop diva just to sell records?

Phoebe: Rick!

Constantine: Whatever, dude. You don't even know what you're talking about.

Rick: I don't know what I'm talking about? You're trying to change her, Constantine. And not for the better. The star that you're creating, it's not who she is.

Constantine: You don't think she can decide that for herself?

Rick: Not when she has some big time record producer giving her lousy advice.

Constantine: Oh please, what do you know?

Rick: I know a bad idea when I see it. Look, this act that you think is going to be so successful -- I'm sorry, but it has disaster written all over it.

Brooke: Ridge? Ridge is that you?

[Knock at the door]

Brooke: Get out, Stephanie!

Stephanie: I just got here.

Brooke: How did you get in here anyway?

Stephanie: Well I looked for you downstairs. When I didn't see you, I thought you'd be up here.

Brooke: Look, I'm warning you. If you don't get out of my house, I am going to call the police!

Stephanie: You had quite an evening planned, didn't you? What'd you do? Think you were going to sweet talk Ridge into going to bed with you? Fortunately, he didn't want any part of that, did he?

Brooke: Why would you think I would ask Ridge to stay the night?

Stephanie: I know you. It's always about sex with you.

Brooke: Look, not that it's any of your business, but Ridge decided to spend the night alone.

Stephanie: Oh? Then why did I just see him at Ashley's?

Brooke: He went to see Ashley?

Ashley: What's in the bag?

Ridge: Since we didn't get a chance to have dessert earlier -- I brought ice cream.

Ashley: Rum raisin -- I haven't had that in so long.

Ridge: That mean you like it?

Ashley: I love it. How did you know?

Ridge: You just seemed like the Rum raisin type of girl.

Ashley: I do? I don't know what that means.

Ridge: I don't either.

Ashley: I'll go get two spoons.

Ridge: No, no. Wait, wait, wait. I got that covered. Come on.

Ashley: Oh yeah? You think of everything.

Ridge: So, what did my mother want?

Ashley: Thank you. Thanks. To talk.

Ridge: Talk huh?

Ashley: Mm-hmm. Yeah, she's become my best friend.

Ridge: That's kind of scary. Talk about anything in particular?

Ashley: Mm-hmm. Mmm. She said that you were with Brooke tonight.

Ridge: I was. In fact, she wanted me to spend the night.

Ashley: You didn't want to?

Ridge: I knew if I spent the night with Brooke, I would lose you. And I don't even have you yet.

Constantine: And since when are you an expert on the record business?

Rick: Constantine, I'm an expert in marketing. Let me ask you something. This duet that you just recorded, how do you plan on distributing it?

Constantine: The web has created a whole new playing field, my friend.

Phoebe: Constantine's right. I mean, nowadays anyone can be a famous --

Rick: I know, but the problem is, Phoebe, he's trying to build on the fame that you already have.

Constantine: What's wrong with that?

Rick: I'll explain that to you. And I'll try to use small, simple words so you can follow. Right, so -- Phoebe already has an audience. An audience that likes her just the way she is. She's a pillar of class -- elegance. Natural beauty. They're not going to buy into this whole Goth, pop diva thing.

Constantine: I think you're wrong about that.

Rick: Of course you do. Because you don't know Phoebe the way I do.

Constantine: No?

Rick: No. And I can prove it.

Constantine: What do you have in mind?

Rick: Well, I have an idea. Phoebe and I will record a duet of our own.

Phoebe: We will?

Constantine: Are you serious? What's the point of that? Perform our duets at Insomnia. And if the audience responds better to your song, then I'll back off. I won't say another word. I won't come between the two of you and your business.

Constantine: And what if they like your duet better?

Rick: Well, I was thinking that -- this dynamic duo will end. And Phoebe will come back to Forrester originals full time. What do you say?

Constantine: You're serious?

Rick: Totally serious.

Constantine: You really think people will like your song better than ours?

Phoebe: Look, I love singing with you, okay? But there's no way we're going to do a competition.

Rick: But, why not? I think we should. I think we should do this.

Phoebe: Okay, so I sing a duet with both of you. At Insomnia. And if the audience likes ours better, then I come back to Forrester Originals full time?

Rick: Right.

Phoebe: But, if the audience likes ours better, then you leave us alone and you let me pursue my singing career.

Rick: Yeah, that's it.

Constantine: What do you say, Phoebe?

Phoebe: Let's do it.

Rick: Great.

Phoebe: Let's do it.

Rick: So we have a deal?

Constantine: Sure. Let's let an audience decide who makes better music with Phoebe.

Rick: Great. May the best man win.

Ashley: Oh!

Ridge: Whoa!

Ashley: Uh-oh. I'll go get a spoon.

Ridge: No, no. Don't worry. We'll share. We'll share.

Ashley: Okay.

Ridge: So these plans that you had to move to Genoa City --

Ashley: Mm-hmm. What about 'em?

Ridge: Are they still happening?

Ashley: Um -- suddenly, I'm not so sure.

Ridge: What made you change your mind?

Ashley: Well, I was never really 100%. I mean, Wisconsin will always be my home, but L.A. Seems to have a lot to offer.

Ridge: Oh, definitely. We got major smog, great earthquakes, and horrendous traffic all the time.

Ashley: Are you trying to make a sales pitch here?

Ridge: Hmm. No, seriously. L.A. Can be actually, really great. It's not perfect, but I think if you spend some time here, you might find you don't really want to leave.

Ashley: Well, unfortunately it's not that simple. There's Abby to think about. And her father lives there, you know.

Ridge: That's reason enough to move. But then again, maybe brad could come here.

Ashley: I don't think that's going to happen. He's going through another divorce, and from what I hear it's pretty messy. And it might get worse.

Ridge: Hmm. Well, just so you know. If you do decide to move back there, I might have to chase after you.

Ashley: You would chase me all the way to Genoa City?

Ridge: Yeah. It wouldn't be pretty either. Don't they have to wear cheese on their heads there and all that? I don't think I can do that.

Ashley: They do that there. But I think you have to live in state for at least a year to qualify as a cheese-head.

Ridge: Oh, okay. That's good. There's one other thing to think about. If you did move there, and I chased after you, and I ran into Brad or Victor Newman.

Ashley: Uh-oh.

Ridge: Two guys that most definitely did not appreciate you very much --

Ashley: Are you saying that you would appreciate me?

Ridge: I'm saying I'm just waiting for the chance to show you how much.

Stephanie: Does that bother you?

Brooke: That Ridge went to see Ashley?

Stephanie: Right after he rejected you.

Brooke: He didn't reject me, he's just trying to figure out what he wants.

Stephanie: He knows what he wants, Brooke. He wants to be free -- of you. He wants to get off this merry-go-round that the two of you have been on all these years. And I think tonight was the last straw. Trying to come between him and his son.

Brooke: I didn't do that.

Stephanie: Yes you did. You used his love for that boy to get him over here to try to get him in bed. Face it, it's over.

Brooke: Look, if Ridge despises me so much, why would he invite me back into the company?

Stephanie: Because he feels sorry for you. He did it as a favor and he did it because of your child. Do yourself a favor -- and do the rest of us a favor. Don't come to work tomorrow. Just walk away gracefully.

Brooke: No, I refuse to believe that it's over between Ridge and me.

Stephanie: Well, maybe when you see Ridge and Ashley together, you'll believe it. And I do believe that you will see them together.

Brooke: Ridge can't just walk away from me. We share a child together.

Stephanie: Yes. As you constantly remind me. And always will. I think he's through with you, Brooke. I think he's done with you. And as always happens with a woman like you, you're going to end up alone. Of course, you have your children. You have Bridget, and Rick. And Hope and R.J. and you could -- you could concentrate on them. You could try to be a good mother to them. But you're never going to have Ridge again. I think he's going to end up with Ashley. And I think you're going to be alone.
