Nick: How do I look?
Taylor: Hmm, I think you look like a very handsome man who's about to be told he's innocent.
Taylor: Sweetheart, I know you're disappointed Rick didn't find any evidence for you. But, I'm just hoping Brooke will have a little more luck with Stephanie.
Nick: Have we hard anything from Brooke?
Storm: No. And I must've left her a dozen messages.
Jackie: I'm sure we'll hear something soon.
Storm: Well, I hope it's real soon, because the trial starts in less than an hour.
Nick: It was a long shot anyway.
Jackie: Oh, don't say that.
Nick: Let's be realistic, Mother. There's nothing I would want more than Brooke to walk through that door and tell us she got Stephanie to get Ridge to confess. But we all know that Stephanie's would never do anything to harm that precious son of hers.
Donna: Hey, everyone. Have you seen Brooke?
Storm: Actually, I was going to ask you the same question.
Donna: No, I haven't seen her since yesterday afternoon.
Storm: What do you mean?
Donna: I mean she didn't come home last night.
Stephanie: Ah, ah, ah. Thank you for waking up. I thought you were going to sleep all day. I've been getting so bored sitting here. And don't try sneaking out the back door, 'cause I have the car keys and the cell, so it won't do you any good. And I checked earlier. The neighbors in the other cabins aren't here. So we're alone. The only way you're going to get out of here, is if you hit me over the head.
Brooke: Don't think I won't do it.
Stephanie: Hmm. Coffee?
Tartaro: Well, Lieutenant, any last-minute second thoughts?
Baker: About Marone? Not a one.
Tartaro: Good answer.
Baker: This case is about as open and shut as I've seen.
Tartaro: Me, too. Evidence is certainly on our side.
Baker: And plenty of it. McGrath's blood was on Marone's shirt. Hair samples on the boat. Threats made in public. Hmm, throw in his temper, and his even bigger ego -- he's our guy. You just make sure you put him away.
Storm: Brooke didn't come home last night?
Donna: I waited up for her past midnight. And then this morning I looked in her room and her bed wasn't slept in.
Taylor: Did you check your messages?
Jackie: I'll bet Stephanie knows where she is.
Nick: Where are you going?
Jackie: To talk to Stephanie. Sorry.
Rick: Nick, did Storm tell you?
Nick: Tell me what?
Rick: That I didn't find anything at Ridge's office. I'm sorry.
Nick: I know, don't worry about it. Do you know where your mother is?
Rick: I assumed she would be here.
Nick: Well, she's not. And we can't find her.
Storm: She went to talk to Stephanie yesterday about getting Ridge to confess. No one has heard from her since. I already called your mom's cell.
Rick: No, I'm calling Bridget.
[Cell phone ringing]
Bridget: Hey, Rick.
Rick: Hey, where are you?
Bridget: I'm at the courthouse. Felicia and I just got here. Where are you?
Rick: I'm with Nick. And we're all wondering where mom is.
Bridget: I don't know. I haven't seen her.
Rick: Well, apparently, nobody has. Maybe she went to talk to Stephanie or something.
Bridget: Why would she do that?
Rick: I don't know, to see whether or not Ridge had anything to do with Shane's murder.
Bridget: Oh, that's great. I'm sure Stephanie, you know, really will love that.
Rick: Listen, Bridget, Donna said that mom did not come home last night.
Bridget: Well, that's weird. I'm sure everything's fine though.
Rick: Well, listen, just to be safe, can you do me a favor? Can you call around to some hospitals?
Bridget: Really? I mean, of course, yeah, okay.
Rick: Thank you, I really appreciate it. Let me know if you hear anything.
Nick: I got a bad feeling about this.
Grant: When I was in my office, someone came in with a gun. And it wasn't Ridge. It was Rick. Rick is the one who shot me.
Stephanie: Here we go.
Brooke: I don't want it. How long are you going to keep me here?
Stephanie: Until you come to your senses. The things that you want to say are just ridiculous..
Brooke: I just have been saying what you told me. That Ridge killed Shane. What's ridiculous is that you're holding me captive here in this cabin!
Stephanie: You're so dramatic. Why don't you think of this as -- a mini vacation? Let's just relax, enjoy it.
Brooke: If I didn't think you were crazy before. I definitely do now. I know what you're doing, Stephanie. You don't want me to say anything to anybody before the trial. One way or the other I am going tell the police everything that I know. You can't keep me here forever.
Jackie: Eric. Can I come in?
Jackie: Thank you.
Eric: I would've thought that you would be at your son's trial at this point.
Jackie: Well, that hasn't actually started yet.
Eric: Oh, well, when it does, I hope storm has a better defense for your son than claiming that Ridge did it and that he's framing Nick.
Jackie: Yes, well I have to get back to the courthouse, so I'll make it brief. Have you seen Brooke?
Eric: Brooke? No.
Jackie: What about Stephanie?
Eric: Stephanie's not here.
Jackie: Where is she?
Eric: She's in Paris.
Eric: She went to Paris last night to visit Ridge.
Jackie: Well, what about Brooke's car?
Eric: Brooke's car?
Jackie: Yes, have you seen Brooke's car?
Eric: No, I haven't seen Brooke's car!
Jackie: Well, what about Stephanie's car?
Eric: Stephanie's car is here, in the garage. She took a limo to the airport last night.
[Cell phone ringing]
Jackie: Storm, it's Jackie. I'm at the Forresters.
Storm: Hey, did you talk to Stephanie?
Jackie: She's not here.
Storm: What do you mean? Where is she?
Jackie: She's in Paris. Eric said that she went there to visit Ridge. And there is no sign of Brooke.
Storm: All right. Well, listen, thanks for letting me know. That was Jackie.
Taylor: Bad news? Stephanie's on her way to Paris. And no word from Brooke.
Taylor: Okay look, let's stay positive. Okay, maybe Brooke got through to Stephanie, and somehow convinced her that Ridge has to confess.
Storm: If that were true, Ridge would be on his way here. Not the other way around.
Nick: And Brooke would have called us.
Rick: I'm trying my mom again.
[Cell phone vibrating]
Stephanie: I'm sorry you didn't try the coffee, it's really delicious.
Brooke: You know, Donna's gonna know that I didn't come home last night. And Storm, he knows that I came to see you. Don't you think people are gonna wonder why they haven't heard back from me?
Stephanie: I can't be concerned about that right now.
Brooke: Well, maybe you should.
Stephanie: What am I supposed to do? I can't let you go to the police and tell them about Ridge. I mean, what if they took you seriously? Trust me. I think you should thank me.
Brooke: Thank you?
Stephanie: Yes, really. Because when you had come to your senses you would have regretted anything that you might have said.
Brooke: No, no, I would not regret telling the truth. Nick did not shoot Shane. Ridge did. And you helped to cover it up.
Stephanie: That boy wanted to kill himself. Ridge just tried to save him.
Brooke: Okay, well then tell them that. Stephanie, you're not going to shut me up by keeping me up here so I miss Nick's trial. There's only one way that you could possible keep me quiet. That would be to kill me.
Stephanie: That's the first intelligent thing you've said all day.
Jackie: Yes, well I won't keep you. I'll be on my way.
Eric: No wait, wait, Jackie. You're not going anywhere until you tell me what is all this concern about Stephanie and Brooke? And what does it have to do with Nick's trial?
Jackie: Apparently, Brooke was here yesterday.
Jackie: To confront Stephanie about Ridge's involvement in Shane McGrath's death --
Eric: He was not involved in it.
Jackie: Yes, well, I can understand why you would believe that --
Eric: Well, he wasn't, Jackie. Now look, I'm sorry you're having to go through all this, and your son too. I mean, I -- it's stunning that you would have to consider the possibility that Nick would be capable of murder, but for you to drag my son's name into this -- especially when all the evidence points so clearly to Nick.
Jackie: The point is, that Brooke didn't make it home last night. And no one can reach her.
Eric: And you think Stephanie knows where she is?
Jackie: Well, she was the last person to see her. And judging from the content of the conversation, it can't have been very pleasant. And now, Stephanie is missing too.
Eric: She's not missing, she's in Paris.
Jackie: Oh, yeah, conveniently.
Eric: All right, now what is all this about? You think Stephanie has done something to Brooke?
Brooke: Right, you're gonna kill me?
Stephanie: Well, you suggested it.
Brooke: Well, why not? I mean, you're already guilty of obstructing justice and oh -- kidnapping. Why not add murder to the list?
Stephanie: I'm glad you find this so damn amusing.
Brooke: I don't find it so damn amusing. You've gotten away with a lot in the past, Stephanie, and you're not going to get away with this.
Stephanie: Why are you getting all worked up it? I know I can't keep you here forever. I just want one, two days. Until the trial is over.
Brooke: Until Nick is convicted.
Stephanie: Well, I'm hoping that your brother's clever enough to get him acquitted. And then no one will have to go to the police about Ridge, or about anything.
Brooke: You want this case to go unsolved?
Stephanie: Well, that would be fine with me.
Brooke: Ridge killed a man!
Stephanie: We didn't set out to frame Nick. Don't you understand -- ugh. I know it was a stupid, impulsive decision for him to put the body in the bay. He knows that too.
Brooke: Okay, okay. What Ridge needs to do, is he needs to go to the police, and tell them exactly what happened --
Stephanie: He can't do that! He -- what's the matter -- he did this for your son. Your son. The court told him, don't you remember? How many times do I have to tell you this? The court said if he comes up on charges involving a gun, he'll go to prison -- period! Look, this is a roll of the dice. But I'm willing to take it for my son. I think Nick will get acquitted. Think about that. Think about your children, your sons. Where would they be without Ridge? All I'm asking, please, please, just let's see where the dice fall.
Bridget: Yes, I'm looking for a woman, she's tall, blonde hair, green eyes. She would've been brought in last night, or possibly this morning.
Felicia: I realize that your husband is desperate to clear his name, but Ridge is not responsible for Shane's death. So, it's wrong for Nick go around telling everybody that he is.
Taylor: I know you don't want to believe it, but I didn't want to believe it either at first --
Felicia: But what? Now you do? Seriously, Taylor, you really think Ridge is capable of murder?
Taylor: No, I think there are a lot of questions that need to be answered, and we're running out of time. And I just wish we knew where Brooke was.
Bridget: Well, I've called all of the hospitals. And nobody matching mom's description has been brought in.
Rick: I'm starting to get the same bad feeling Nick has.
Bailiff: All rise! Court is now in session. The honorable Judge Owens presiding. County of Los Angeles versus Dominick Marone. Charge of murder in the second degree.
Judge: Yes, Mr. Logan?
Storm: The defense requests a postponement, your honor.
Judge: On what ground?
Storm: We need more time to t our case together. With all due respect, the trial was moved up. And we feel it's only fair.
Tartaro: Your honor, please. The police have completed their investigation. More time won't change the facts.
Storm: A couple of days would suffice your honor.
Judge: Ms. Tartaro?
Tartaro: Again, I really don't see the need for this, your honor.
Storm: Of course, you don't.
Tartaro: I fail to see what will be gained by postponing.
Storm: Well, how about defending my client?
Tartaro: It's a delay tactic.
Nick: Why are we even arguing here? I didn't kill the man! Ridge Forrester did!
Nick: Your honor, please. All we need is a few more days. That's what we're asking. We know what happened. We can prove it.
Judge: Mr. Marone, you will sit down. Sit down and be quiet. Another outburst like that and I'll have you removed from the courtroom. Mr. Logan, control your client. Members of the jury, you will disregard the defendant's comments. Thank you. Counselors, approach the bench.
Felicia: What the hell is Nick doing?
Bridget: He's fighting for his innocence, obviously, Felicia. And we're here to support him.
Felicia: No, I'd like to punch him in the you-know-what.
Bridget: He didn't kill Shane.
Felicia: He's trying to pin it on Ridge. Seriously, does he hate him that much?
Bridget: Nick would never accuse Ridge of anything if he wasn't sure he was guilty.
Felicia: Well, I'm sure that Ridge is not. What about you, Bridget? Do you think Ridge is capable of murdering Shane?
Bridget: God, no! Of course not.
Felicia: Well, then stop defending what Nick is trying to pull --
Bridget: I'm not! I think we just need to keep cool. Okay? Please?
Felicia: All I know is someone somewhere knows who shot Shane. I just wish we knew the truth.
Bridget: We need to figure it out pretty quickly because an innocent man's about to go to jail for a very long time.
Brooke: No, Stephanie. I don't want Ridge behind bars. But that doesn't mean I can just stand by and pretend I don't know what's happening. I believe that the judge will understand the extenuating circumstances.
Stephanie: No, it's too big a risk! Why are you being so obstinate? I just -- I just want to wait for a couple of days to see if Nick is convicted.
Brooke: And then Ridge will come forward? Okay, I won't say anything. Until we know the outcome of Nick's trial.
Stephanie: Thank you. Thank you.
Brooke: You know, I agree with you. I don't want Ridge in prison either, especially for this. When he was trying to help somebody. I mean, yes, he went about it in a strange way. He could have things differently. But we all make mistakes, I mean, that's one thing I know for sure.
Stephanie: I agree with you on that.
Brooke: Ah, we actually agree on something.
Stephanie: Yeah, and something that involves Ridge. Will wonders never cease?
Brooke: So, when are we going back to Beverly Hills? I mean, we can't stay here. People are going to start wondering where I am. They're going to be asking questions. I'm sure you don't want that. Stephanie, I'm going to keep my mouth shut, until after the trial. I'm not going to say anything to anybody, you can trust me. I promise you.
Stephanie: All right.
Brooke: All right. You know, I'm going to go change. Get dressed, go to use the restroom, and then we can leave.
Stephanie: Yeah, okay, I'll change too.
Stephanie: I don't think so.
