Brooke: Don't do this. Don't marry her.
Brooke: I know you still love me.
Nick: We can't do this.
Brooke: Yes, yes we can and we have to do this now.
Nick: I'm getting married.
Brooke: I know you are. That's why I'm here. I can't just sit at home and let this happen. I've let you go once and I can't make that mistake again, Nick. I promised you a life, and I'm going to give it to you. Please, I can make this better, just let me prove it to you.
Nick: What am I supposed to do, hmm? You tell me what I should do. Should I just walk away, leave her on the alter so you and I can run off together? Is that it?
Brooke: No. Nobody's gonna run off together. We're just gonna face the truth. Nick, we can't pretend that this isn't happening.
Nick: I'll tell you what's happening, Brooke. I'll tell you what's real. You have a child with Forrester. He has been in your life forever and he always will be. That's what's real to me.
Ridge: What about the Marlin? What if somebody at the marina saw me take the thing out?
Stephanie: Well, were you aware of anyone? Did you see anyone?
Ridge: I wasn't, but I wasn't aware of you either, but you followed me all the way from the office.
Stephanie: Maybe you should shave that beard; change your appearance a bit.
Ashley: Hi. Oh, hi. I'm sorry, I always seem to be interrupting.
Stephanie: No, no, no -- not at all. I was just leaving. See what you can do about him. Try and get his mind off his troubles.
Ridge: Best thing is to just ignore her.
Ashley: Would you rather be alone?
Ridge: No, no, no, no.
Ashley: I know what you're going through. You're worried about Phoebe. You want to protect your daughter, right?
Minister: Where's Nick?
Rick: I don't know.
Jackie: The ceremony should've started by now.
Nick: Give me a hand here, would ya?
Rick: Absolutely. Everything all right?
Nick: Never. I'm ready, let's do this.
["Here Comes the Bride" plays]
Minister: Welcome. We are gathered here to witness and celebrate the joining of Taylor Hayes and Nick Marone in the sacred bond of holy matrimony. This is a joyful and a solemn occasion. The vows you are about to take are not to be taken lightly. Nick and Taylor, I charge you both, here in the presence of God, that if either of you know any reason why you may not be united in marriage you do now confess it.
Brooke: This is our last chance, Nick. Don't do it.
Minister: No objections? Then I'd like to begin with a reading from the book of psalms.
Ashley: Lt. Baker said that he was stalking Phoebe?
Ridge: It's been dealt with.
Ashley: Well, good. So they found him?
Ridge: I don't really want to talk about Shane, okay?
Ashley: Okay, okay. What do you want to talk about?
Ridge: How incredibly beautiful you are.
Jackie: Well, there are no words to express just how blessed I feel to be part of this extraordinary moment in my son's life, to see you so happy. Thank you Taylor, and thank you Nicky, for letting me say these few, brief words. Well, I plan to be brief. From Robert Frost's "Master speed" -- "two such as you with such a master speed cannot be parted nor be swept away from one another once you are agreed that life is only life forevermore together wing to wing oar to oar."
Nick: Thank you, Mother.
Minister: Please join hands. Nick, you may now make your solemn vow to Taylor.
Nick: Ladies first, I insist.
Taylor: All right. When we first began to plan this day, we decided to forgo the traditional recited vows and the symbolism and just say what was in our heart. When you asked me to find one word that summarizes my feelings for you and our relationship, and I chose "unexpected." You are the biggest surprise of my life. The first day I met you, I never -- I never dreamed that one day, you would become my husband. A year ago, I never dreamed that I would have another chance at happiness. Even now, I never dreamed that I would be starting a family. I guess -- I guess what surprises me most is I am absolutely certain that you are the man that I was meant to be with. And I -- I look forward to -- to being surprised by you every day for the rest of my life.
Nick: The word that I chose is "complete." Because I think your whole package is complete. When I think about what you brought to my life and the kind of man I was before I met you -- I was broken. I had a lot of dark corners and sharp edges, and you helped me to confront that. You challenged me to be a better man. You challenged me to give you that happiness and the surprises that you deserve in a lifetime. Maybe I should've chosen the word "challenge," because of how you challenge me, the challenges we face. I love you. Should I have chosen "challenge"? Is "complete" okay?
Taylor: It's perfect.
Stephanie: I thought only the invited guests are the ones that wept at the wedding.
Brooke: Stephanie --
Stephanie: Catherine told me you weren't here, but I decided to take the chance and wait for you anyway.
Brooke: I want you to leave!
Stephanie: Let me guess. Uh, you rushed to the chapel. You begged Nick not to marry Taylor, but he did anyway. You know, if he'd wanted you, he could've had you the day you came back from Australia.
Brooke: You just won't stop it.
Stephanie: Poor Brooke. No job, no man. You've lost it all.
Minister: As a gift to the happy couple, the bride's daughter would like to honor their union with a song. Taylor and Nick, may your marriage be as harmonious as the music that fills this chapel.
Close your eyes give me your hand, darling do you feel my heart beating do you understand do you feel the same am I only dreaming is this burning an eternal flame I believe it's meant to be, darling I watch you when you are sleeping you belong to me do you feel the same am I only dreaming or is this burning an eternal flame say my name sun shines through the rain a whole life so lonely and then you ease the pain I don't want to lose this feeling close your eyes and give me your hand do you feel my heart beating or do you understand do you feel the same am I only dreaming or is this burning an eternal flame
Phoebe: I love you, mom.
Taylor: Thank you.
Brooke: This has nothing to do with you, Stephanie.
Stephanie: No, it doesn't. And this time, you've turned your life upside-down all on your own. And this time, Ridge won't be there to pick up the pieces.
Brooke: I care about him, Stephanie, but I don't want him back. Not after what he did to Rick. He showed me a side of him that I can't ignore -- a side that he got from you -- violence.
Stephanie: He was protecting his daughter. So in his mind, it was justified.
Brooke: Oh, my God. It was an indefensible error of judgment! I don't even know how you can defend that! I thought you wanted me to stay away from Ridge?
Stephanie: I do, but I don't want you saying things like this about him, to me or anyone else. And yes, I do want you to stay away from him.
Brooke: We share a child together, Stephanie. And that is forever.
Minister: These rings symbolize your commitment to one another, the sanctity of your vows and the fidelity of your marriage. May the enduring nature of their metal be a reminder to you the strength of your bond. Nick, take Taylor's left hand. Place the ring on her finger, and repeat after me. "I give you this ring as a sign of my love and faithfulness."
Nick: I give you this ring as a sign of my love and faithfulness.
Minister: Taylor, place this ring on Nick's hand, and make your pledge to him.
Taylor: Nick, I give you this ring as a sign of my love and my faithfulness.
Minister: Now that Taylor and Nick have given themselves to each other by solemn vows, with the joining of hands and the exchange of rings, I am pleased to pronounce them husband and wife. What God has joined, let no one put asunder.
Minister: You may kiss the bride.
Nick: Thank you.
Phoebe: I love you.
Taylor: Oh, I love you.
Nick: Ah! Ladies and gentlemen, normally there's a reception after the wedding, but we're gonna be a little different tonight. My wife and I have a previous engagement.
Taylor: We are going to the hospital to start in vitro fertilization. We're making a baby!
Nick: See ya.
Ridge: Didn't I promise you a date? How 'bout tonight?
Ashley: Who needs a date? We're doing pretty well in the workplace.
Ridge: Yeah well, I'm just getting warmed up. And I have a list of babysitters for you.
Ashley: Actually, you know, Abby's at a slumber party. So I could go back to the hotel and change my clothes.
Ridge: No, no, no, no. We have a whole wardrobe section full of wonderful gowns that would look absolutely stunning on you.
Ashley: What do you have in mind?
Ridge: Seeing you in one of my designs for starters.
Ashley: Mm. And after that?
Ridge: Seeing you out of it, hopefully.
Ashley: You're naughty. Mm. Um, maybe we should start with one of your mother's suggestions, however.
Ridge: Oh, now my mother's chimed in about our date?
Ashley: She sure is. Um, she's a regular travel agent. Let's see. She was suggesting maybe Santa Barbara and then taking a boat to Catalina.
Ridge: No, no boats. Um, the jet. When was the last time you were in San Francisco?
Ashley: The jet? Um, it's a long time ago.
Ridge: Okay. I'll call the pilot, have it gassed up, ready to go.
[Knock at door]
Ridge: Come in. Lt. Baker.
Lt. Baker: Hello, Ridge.
Ridge: If you're here about the restraining order, we haven't seen Shane.
Lt. Baker: And you won't. He's dead. That's why I'm here, Ridge. I want to talk to you about the murder of Shane McGrath.
