Brooke: I'm back, Nick. And I'm yours. I'm all yours.

Stephanie: You don't have to explain yourself to me.

Ridge: I was defending my daughter.

Stephanie: Of course you were.

Ridge: He was all over her.

Stephanie: So you did something about it.

Ridge: I did something Brooke can't forgive. She says it's over.

Stephanie: You should be so lucky.

Ridge: I have to talk to her.

Stephanie: Well, you're not going to apologize about this?

Ridge: Mother, we were supposed to get married tomorrow --

Stephanie: Look, if you're worried about the press, and that sort of thing, Eric can handle that for you.

Ridge: I'm not concerned about the press at all. This wasn't just some publicity stunt. This is my life.

Stephanie: Honey, she's overreacting to this. And if I may say so, so are you.

Ridge: Really? Am I? Brooke called off the wedding. Gave me back the ring.

Rick: Ashley --

Ashley: Hi. I didn't know you were back.

Rick: Yeah, yeah, we just got in.

Ashley: Ow! What happened to your eye?

Rick: Oh -- Ridge happened to my eye.

Ashley: He hit you?

Rick: You know, some people bring back t-shirts from vacation, I brought back this.

Ashley: Not in the Sydney store in front of the press, I hope.

Rick: Oh, no, not at all. In the honeymoon suite. It's not what you think, okay? It was -- Phoebe and I just hanging out -- it was completely innocent.

Ashley: In the honeymoon suite?

Rick: Well, you know, it had a flat screen television, and a hot tub, and a great view from up there --

Ashley: Well, it sounds to me like maybe you got what you deserved.

Taylor: That sounded skeptical, didn't it?

Jackie: Well, given my history with Brooke and my fondness for her, I don't blame you for being surprised.

Taylor: Well, I'm just happy that you've accepted me. Your approval means a lot.

Jackie: Taylor, you and my son are engaged. You're trying to have a baby with him. I think it's time I came around.

Taylor: Because of the baby?

Jackie: Because you've made Nicky happy again. And yes, of course, the fact that you want to have a child with him is part of it.

Taylor: He makes me very happy, too.

Jackie: Then you're a perfect match.

Taylor: You didn't always feel like that.

Jackie: Honestly, no. I never thought anyone could actually eclipse the chemistry and passion that nick shared with Brooke. But you have.

Nick: Don't.

Brooke: Why not?

Nick: I'm engaged.

Brooke: I know.

Nick: Let's back up here. Now, this assault or attack you're talking about, when exactly did this happen?

Brooke: Yesterday.

Nick: Yesterday. So you hop on a jet, and you fly home, and you come straight here?

Brooke: Yes.

Nick: Brooke, go home. You're exhausted. You've flown all night long. You need some sleep. You're angry at Ridge. Believe me, tomorrow, everything will look differently to you.

Brooke: Nick, no. No, I'm not leaving. I need you back.

Rick: Ridge completely overreacted. I mean, Phoebe and I were just trying to spend some quality time together. You know? Alone, away from Ridge's evil eye. And we had no idea that he would find us up there.

Ashley: And what exactly did he find you doing? I mean, I'm just curious.

Rick: No, no, it's nothing like that, okay? We're not -- we're not ready for that. We agreed --

Ashley: Yeah, good -- does Ridge know that?

Rick: Well, he clocked me before I had a chance to explain that. Not that he would believe me anyway.

Ashley: Yeah, and I'm having a little trouble believing that myself. I am. I'm sorry, you say you're waiting, but for how long are you waiting, exactly? Are you going to wait until Phoebe graduates from school, until she moves out of her parents' home? Five years? Ten years?

Rick: Ashley, I don't know, okay? I really -- I haven't given it that much thought.

Ashley: Yeah, obviously not.

Stephanie: Brooke called off the engagement?

Ridge: If you feel the need to do handsprings, will you at least go outside in the hall?

Stephanie: Look, I'm not going to pretend that I'm not relieved, all right? But I can see that you're very distressed by this. I'm not going to make matters worse.

Ridge: It can't get any worse.

Stephanie: Well, all right, then, all it can do is get better.

Ridge: And I don't really need a pep talk right now.

Stephanie: Wait a minute, did you or did you not, repeatedly, ask Brooke to keep her son away from Phoebe? You see, this whole situation just illustrates the difference between the two of you as people and how you react to moral situations. I believe you have done the right thing to protect your daughter.

Ridge: So do I. I just hope Brooke will see that once she calms down and gives me a chance to explain.

Stephanie: And if she doesn't see it that way?

Ridge: I need to find her first. Damn it, why hasn't she called yet? What if she's with Nick?

Taylor: Do you think you were holding out hope that Nick and Brooke would actually get back together?

Jackie: Not anymore.

Taylor: Well, of course, Ridge and Brooke are getting married tomorrow.

Jackie: Yes, that's what I hear. I suppose you and Nicky will be next.

Taylor: Well, actually, Nick wanted to do that last night. He actually wanted to go get married, but I told him that I really wanted to wait until we had our whole family around us. I mean, there's no need to rush.

Brooke: I probably shouldn't be here. But I am. And I need you to hear this. I've loved Ridge for practically my entire life. I was convinced that he was going to be my destiny, my soulmate. So, I've had to live through all the tears and the disappointments -- but I can't really blame anybody for that. That was my fault. But what happened in Sydney -- it wasn't just disappointing. It was appalling. And it really opened my eyes.

Nick: Well, I'm glad for you.

Brooke: And you warned me. You told me if I went back to Ridge, I wouldn't be happy. That his mother would turn on me. Ridge would let me down. Well, I just traveled 14 hours on a plane to get back here and tell you, that you were right. I mean, I couldn't see that for myself? I really see Ridge and his family now for what they are. And you know what? I see other things clearly, too. Ridge and I aren't going to get married. It's never going to happen for us.

Nick: Well, I think that's good for you.

Brooke: It's good for me. It's good for you. It's good for both of us.

Nick: Brooke -- now, you know I would do anything for you. So, if there's anything that you need, or any way that I can help --

Brooke: No, I don't think you're hearing me. I'm telling you I made a mistake. I'm telling you I never should have walked out on what we had. I'm telling you that I am here for you. Want bigger, more beautiful potted plants?

Jackie: Well, now I'm the one who's surprised.

Taylor: Because we didn't elope?

Jackie: Because since you and Nicky started seeing each other, everything has happened so fast. Has something changed?

Taylor: No.

Jackie: Everything's all right? There's no hurdles? No bumps in the road --

Taylor: No, we just want to enjoy the ride.

Jackie: Well, you two are obviously very committed. You don't need a ceremony to see that.

Taylor: Oh, we will have one, when the time is right.

Jackie: Well, I think it shows tremendous confidence. You know, deciding to take your time.

Taylor: Well, listen; I've got to go upstairs. I'm sure nick is wondering what happened to me down here.

Ashley: You're not really planning on waiting, right? I mean, that's why you haven't thought this through.

Rick: No, no, that's not true.

Ashley: Aren't you maybe secretly hoping that Phoebe will have a change of heart and you guys will get closer over the next few months, and maybe Ridge will let up?

Rick: Well, no, Ridge is never going to let up --

Ashley: Yeah, neither would I, frankly, if Abby were in this situation.

Rick: Okay, it kind of sounds like you're taking his side --

Ashley: I'm not taking anybody's side. I'm just don't understand what you're doing.

Rick: You don't understand? Ashley, you don't understand how two people can have a relationship and not have it be sexual?

Ashley: Is that what you and Phoebe have? You have a relationship?

Rick: Yes.

Ashley: She's 18 years old, Rick.

Rick: I can't believe --

Ashley: Well, it's true. You're sneaking around like a couple of little kids because your big, mean old parents don't approve.

Rick: It sounds like you don't either.

Ashley: You shouldn't be worried about what I think. You should be worried about the amount of tension you're causing. How are you supposed to work with Ridge? And have you thought how this is going to affect your mother's wedding?

Rick: There is no wedding. Don't worry about that. My mom said that she can't marry a man who attacked her son.

Ashley: You're kidding me. She left Ridge?

Rick: Yeah. It's for the best.

Ashley: You're happy about this?

Rick: Listen, Ashley, don't worry. Okay? We're going to figure out a way to deal with the store tie-in. And who knows? We may even get more press than we planned. Because nothing sells more papers than a big, ugly celebrity break-up.

Ashley: Nice.

Stephanie: If she's with that son of a bitch, then she does not deserve an apology.

Ridge: If I could just talk to her, Brooke and I can work this out. Maybe not in time for the wedding, but -- oh, man. The wedding! I'm going to have to make a statement at the opening.

Stephanie: Honey, I told you, Eric can take care of that for you. Look, go home, all right? You've got to take care of yourself. Now, try and get some sleep.

Ridge: Not until I find her, and find out where we're heading here -- that's what I've got to do first.

Stephanie: I'm sorry, I can see that this is really -- really disappointed you. You worked so hard on that relationship --

Ridge: Mother, you don't have to talk about it in the past tense, okay?

Stephanie: All I'm saying to you --

Ridge: I don't care what you're saying. If you can't be supportive of me right here, then just leave me alone.

Stephanie: Okay.

Nick: Brooke, I've moved on with my life. You know that.

Brooke: I know how inappropriate this is, and how Taylor could get hurt. And how arrogant I must seem. But right now, I don't care. And I don't think you care either.

Nick: I'm engaged. I'm in love with her. And we're getting married, and we're planning on having a family.

Brooke: I know, but you had a family. You had a home. You had two wonderful children who adored you. And I took that all away from you. And I'm sorry. If there's anything I could do to change --

Nick: Stop! Stop --

Brooke: And I tried to break away from him, Nick, I did. But now I have --

Nick: I said stop it! Now, Brooke, I'm not doing this with you again. I'm not -- I'm not doing it. Now, it's gone too far. It's just -- it's just too late.

Brooke: It's not too late. I want you back.

Ridge: Logan, it's me. Again. Call me. We can work this out. We can sort through it, but you need to talk to me.

Ridge: Ashley --

Ashley: Hi. The door was open. Calling Brooke?

Ridge: Yeah, have you seen her?

Ashley: No. I'm sorry, I haven't. It's going to be okay. It will be okay.

Jackie: I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to keep you so long.

Taylor: No, it's just that I realized I should be going on up.

Jackie: I'm sure nicky is so lonely without you.

Brooke: Look me in the eye. You miss what he had. We can have it again.

Nick: No. No.

Brooke: You still want me.

Nick: No!

Brooke: Well, I don't believe you. I was going to get married tomorrow. But it's not going to happen. This fantasy life that I had with Ridge and his family, I don't want it. This is where I belong.

Nick: No. I have heard all of this before!

Brooke: Okay, well, you don't have to hear it again. Because this is it for me, Nick. You're it for me.

Nick: Really? I'm it for you? And you just realized this flying home from Australia?

Brooke: Deep down I've known it all along.

Nick: Forrester's not finished here. He'll come after you. He'll never let you go.

Brooke: So? It doesn't matter.

Nick: It's a day, or a week, a month, a year -- the same thing will keep happening.

Brooke: No, I am through with Ridge. I told you --

Nick: I've heard this. I have heard all of this before.

Brooke: Okay. Well, there's only three words that matter. I -- love -- you.

Nick: Cut it out. You can't do this. You can't just walk back here like this, and -- I mean, what's wrong with you? Do I have "stupid" on my forehead? Making promises? You just told me you loved me!

Brooke: All right. Then no more words. No more promises.

Nick: What are you doing? Come on, Brooke.

Brooke: Shh --

Nick: Brooke, don't do this.

Brooke: I love you, Nick. Forever and ever --

Nick: Brooke, Brooke -- Brooke --

Taylor: Brooke! What are you doing?
