Ridge: Yes, I'll tell her. Love you, too, Steffy. Bye.
Phoebe: I bet she wishes she was here.
Ridge: Better she's not. She would have been a nervous wreck today.
Phoebe: Yeah, I know I was.
Hector: Well, we all were, Phoebe, the way the prosecutor ripped into Shane like that.
Harry: That's because he came off like a wacko.
Ridge: Well, storm turned it around on cross-examination anyway.
Phoebe: I just -- I wish the judge had let him finish.
Ridge: Well, they'll have another shot tomorrow morning, first thing. Until then, I want you to stay away from Shane.
Phoebe: What if he calls?
Ridge: Phoebe, his interest in you is very inappropriate.
Phoebe: I know, but he might get upset if he thinks I'm avoiding him.
Ridge: Well, he's going over his testimony with Storm. After the mess he made on the stand today, they'll probably be at it all night.
Phoebe: You think so?
Ridge: Yeah. Just to make sure, let hector or Harry answer the Phone until I get back, okay?
Phoebe: Wait, where are you going?
Ridge: I'm going to visit your mom.
Phoebe: Tell her that I love her. We're going to do everything we can to get her out of there.
Ridge: Yes, we are. Remember, don't answer the phone, don't answer the door, okay?
Harry: Don't worry, Mr. Forrester. I'll keep an eye on her.
Hector: Hey, at least we know that Shane won't be coming around here. It sounds like Storm's going to keep him pretty busy.
Harry: Yeah, but for how long?
Shane: Listen, can we just wrap this thing up already, please? I have some plans, and I got someone really special coming by.
Storm: Is that right?
Storm: You are aware that the prosecution attacked your credibility today, so we need to be absolutely clear about what it is you're going to say. You saw Darla Forrester fall back into the --
Shane: Listen, I know what I saw. I know what to say. I know what to say!
Storm: You know what to say? That's funny, because it's not what you say, it's how you say it.
Shane: Listen, man, if we keep going over it like this, it's going to end up sounding fake. So, why don't you just -- just cut me a break, okay?
Storm: A break? Shane, this is important, okay? How you look and act will affect how the jury perceives you. You need to comb your hair, you need to dress neater. Don't you have a tie or something?
[Storm snaps his fingers]
Storm: Hey, Don Juan, you listening to me?
Shane: What? No, no, I'm not. Listen, you're wasting your time here. And you're wasting mine, too. Thanks for coming by here. I'll see you tomorrow.
Storm: Thanks for coming by?
Shane: Yeah, yeah. Now, let's get the celebration started.
Taylor: So much for celebrating tonight.
Thorne: Once everyone hears what Shane has to say, the judge could ask the D.A. to drop the case.
Taylor: Well, I seriously doubt she's going to make it that easy on him. But I do appreciate your positive attitude.
Thorne: Any chance I could get you to share it?
Taylor: Well, I'm feeling better about some things.
Thorne: But not about everything?
Taylor: I'm just worried about Shane.
Thorne: Look, I know he didn't look too good answering the D.A.'s questions. But Storm will clean him up.
Taylor: No, that's not what I'm worried about. I don't know, I'm just nervous about Shane. I just hate it that I can't be at my own home to protect my daughter.
Hector: I still think we should have told your father that Shane has been pressuring you.
Phoebe: My dad would go crazy, Hector. We can't do anything to make Shane take off.
Harry: Yeah, but that doesn't mean you have to go over there.
Hector: Where? Over to Shane's?
Harry: Phoebe promised him that they'd celebrate tonight.
Phoebe: It's Shane.
Harry: Don't answer that.
Phoebe: I have to. Hello?
Shane: Hey, Phoebe. Are you on your way over?
Phoebe: I don't think I can make it tonight, Shane.
Shane: What? Why?
Phoebe: I'm not blowing you off.
Shane: Wait, wait. Phoebe, we had plans here. They were definite plans. This was our big night.
Phoebe: I know, I know.
Shane: Listen, you're not trying to lead me on here, are you?
Phoebe: No, no, no. Shane, I want to see you. I do. It's just, my dad doesn't want me to leave the house. Can you come here?
Shane: Is your dad there?
Phoebe: Nobody is.
Shane: So, we could be alone?
Phoebe: Yeah. Just come down to the gate by the pool and I'll meet you down there.
Shane: By the pool? Okay. That could be a special place. Listen Phoebe, I want this to be perfect. Okay? And it will. All right. I can't wait to see you. All right, bye.
Harry: You invited him here? Phoebe, what are you thinking?
Phoebe: I know what I'm doing.
Hector: Phoebe, you told him that you were alone.
Harry: And if you think I'm leaving you, then you're crazy.
Phoebe: I don't want you to leave, that's why I asked him to come over.
Hector: Well, what if your father comes back home and sees him? You just got finished telling me that Ridge would go ballistic.
Phoebe: Shane will be long gone by the time dad gets home. Okay? I just -- we're going to talk, and I'm going to convince him that we should wait one more day to celebrate, and by that time he'll have testified and mom will be home. Or at least on her way.
Harry: Forget it, Phoebe. I'm not leaving you alone. This guy is dangerous!
Phoebe: No, he's not. Okay, maybe he comes on a little strong sometimes -- but he would never do anything to hurt me.
Harry: You don't really believe that? Do you like this guy?
Shane: Oh, Shane, Shane, Shane, Shane. Your life has come a long way. From sleeping on the beach, to being homeless -- to one night -- one night that just makes a complete difference.
Shane: Need a little help, sweetheart?
Phoebe: It's just a flat tire. Helps on the way.
Shane: I can help.
Phoebe: No, I'm okay, really. No, I'll just wait in the car.
Shane: Then I got this girl that comes out of the middle of nowhere that night -- this angel, Phoebe. I am not going to blow this, you understand me? I am not going to blow this. I'm going to make a difference here, in my life. I'm going to do something right.
Shane: I'll say that phoebe did it out of the goodness of her heart. Because she didn't even know that was me that night on the side of the road, because I didn't tell her that until later. And the accident with my hand? That wasn't her responsibility. That wasn't her fault, but she took full blame for it. Because that's the kind of person she is. She's a great person. And so is her family. They're really good people. And her mom, too. I mean, look at her mom. Her mom's confessing to an accident that wasn't even her fault. That I can swear to.
Shane: Don't you worry, sweetheart. I know you're counting on me, and I'm not going to let you down. All right? I'll be there for your mother, I'm going to get her free. And I'm going to be there for you.
[Shane remembering] It's going to be a great night, a night you're never going to forget. A night that's going to change everything. Forever.
Thorne: Look, I can stop by the house and check on Phoebe, if you want.
Taylor: No, you have your own little girl to take care of.
Thorne: She's staying with Sally tonight.
Taylor: Ridge is there. I'm sure she'll be okay.
Thorne: Well, I don't think Shane's staying at the house anymore, anyway.
Taylor: No, he's not. Ridge told him to leave.
Thorne: Good. Sounds like he has everything under control.
Taylor: Unfortunately, I'm sure Shane feels like he's the one in control. I just wish this whole damn thing was over. I'm sorry, Thorne. I know I'm responsible for what happened to Darla. On some level, I deserve everything I'm getting.
Thorne: Taylor, it was an accident, okay? And that is exactly what Shane is going to tell the jury.
Taylor: Yeah, the jury's already heard testimony, though. They know that I'd been drinking, they know that I lied. If I was on the jury, I wouldn't feel too good about me.
Thorne: Well, I know how I feel about you. And I know that you would never intentionally hurt anyone. You've made some serious mistakes, okay? But hitting Darla was -- it was unavoidable, and the jury is going to see that.
Guard: Five minutes.
Taylor: Ridge, what are you doing here?
Ridge: I just thought I'd come by for a little moral support, but it looks like my little brother beat me to it.
Taylor: Well, that's sweet of you. I just wish that I was home, taking care of Phoebe. But listen, if Shane shows up --
Ridge: Shane's going over his testimony with storm. I don't think he's going to be bothering Phoebe tonight.
Harry: Phoebe, I just want to know what's going on. It's not going to make me mad. Look, phoebe, stop avoiding the question. Do you like this guy?
Phoebe: I just don't think he's as dangerous as everyone's making him out to be, okay? Look, we have to hurry. He's going to get here really soon.
Harry: Okay. I'm going to hide back there --
Phoebe: Go upstairs, I'll be fine. I can handle this.
Harry: No. I'm going to hide in those bushes, and if he threatens you --
Phoebe: No, no. He won't. Just go upstairs. I have my cell phone. I'll be fine. I'll be fine.
Harry: I'm not leaving.
Phoebe: He is the only one who can get my mother out of jail. He has to testify tomorrow.
Harry: And you're willing to do anything to make sure he does?
Phoebe: Not anything. I told you and him I'm not ready for that with any guy.
Harry: Okay. So if he suspects that you're leading him on, you don't think he's going to become violent?
Phoebe: No, he won't.
Harry: Well, if he does, I'm going to be right here. Because I'm not leaving.
Phoebe: Okay. Look, you have to remember that you cannot overreact. You have to stay hidden unless I call you.
Harry: Unless he touches you.
Phoebe: No, no, no, no. You have to stay hidden, because if he suspects anyone's here -- he's here, you have to go. Go, go, go.
Shane: Hey. I picked these up for you on the way over.
Phoebe: They're beautiful. Thank you.
Shane: Come here.
Shane: God, you look beautiful. I mean, as always, but -- well, this is our night. It's finally here.
Taylor: Ridge, I hope I didn't sound ungrateful. I can use all the support I can get.
Ridge: Are you worried about Phoebe?
Taylor: No, I know you can take good care of her. It's just that I -- I feel so disconnected in here.
Thorne: Well, you won't be in here much longer.
Ridge: Thorne's right. Storm's going to turn things around tomorrow. Look, things are already turning around. Look at you two. I got to hand it to you, Thorne. What you've done here, the way you've come around -- if it wasn't for you, the mother of my children would be sentenced to ten years in prison.
Guard: You're popular tonight. Make it quick, time's almost up.
Storm: Well, I just came from seeing Shane.
Taylor: How did it go?
Thorne: Can we count on him?
Storm: Well, he's a little jumpy, but I think once he gets on the stand, his testimony will have a huge impact on the jury. And then, if everything goes according to plan, I think there's a very good chance that you could be going home.
Phoebe: Do you want something to drink?
Shane: Oh, what is that? Water?
Shane: I mean, don't you normally drink champagne or something when you're celebrating?
Phoebe: Well, I'm underage, you know that. I just -- champagne would make me tired.
Shane: Make you tired? Well, I wouldn't want you to dose off on me now.
Shane: How could you, though, with your heart beating like that? So, your dad's not here, is he?
Phoebe: No, he's visiting my mom.
Shane: What about Hector, is he here?
Phoebe: Hey -- hey, what's the rush? I mean, my dad -- he won't be here for a while.
Shane: Wait, wait. Phoebe, come here, come here, come here, come here. We've waited a long time for this.
Phoebe: I'll be honest with you. Okay -- it's probably the trial tomorrow, and I'm kind of nervous about what will happen --
Shane: Yeah -- why don't you just admit it? Just admit it then.
Shane: The first night we met -- the first night we met -- you still look at me the same way. Right? Like I'm some freak or something.
Phoebe: No, I don't know what you're talking about, Shane.
Shane: Why do you get so intense, though, every time you're around me then?
Phoebe: Because, this is all new to me.
Shane: It's new to you? Phoebe, I told you that I love you. I've never told another girl that before. I mean, you believe that, right? It should mean something to you.
Phoebe :It does, it does.
Shane: Listen, I think you're using me. I think you're using me. You don't want me, you just want the testimony at the trial. Once your mom's free, it's gonna be the end of me.
Phoebe: No, no, no, that's not true, Shane.
Shane: Yes, it is! Just admit it!
Phoebe: No, it's not. No, it's not!
Shane: It is true --
Harry: You bastard!
Phoebe: Harry! Shane, are you okay? Harry!
Thorne: It's almost over, okay? Even Storm thinks so.
Taylor: I'm afraid to get my hopes up.
Thorne: I should have believed in you.
Taylor: That you do now, Thorne, that makes all the difference to me. You know, lying in my cell every night wondering what's going to happen to me -- it would have been so easy for me to just give up, to get dragged down by all of my fears, and -- then you showed up in the courtroom and you asked the judge to give me a second chance. And coming here and telling me you want me to remain a part of your daughter's life, and bringing me Ally's letter and her drawings. And all of your support and your kind words. I mean, those might seem like little things to you, but that's all that's kept me alive, you know? I feel like I've been drowning. I feel like I'm about to go under, and those have been like life rafts to me.
Thorne: I'm not going to let you drown.
Taylor: You know, Thorne, it's just like -- you've done so much for me. You've given me a whole new perspective on my life. And if I am given another chance, I'm going to make the most of it. And I am going to repay you for all the kindness you've shown me. And I'm definitely going to be very grateful for every ounce of freedom I have. But I'm never going to jeopardize the lives of the people I love again.
Shane: Phoebe, this was supposed to be our night. This was supposed to be a wonderful night between us. And you do something like this. You told me that we were gonna be alone here. You didn't tell me your boyfriend was gonna be hiding in the bushes over there.
Phoebe: No, he's not -- I was just --
Shane: No, you know what? I believed you. I believed in you. I thought you were somebody special, but you know something? You're just like everybody else. You don't give a damn about me!
Harry: Of course, she doesn't. You're sick, man!
Phoebe: Harry, stop it. Stop!
Harry: No, he's using his power over your mother to force you to have sex with him. You know how disgusting that is?
Shane: You don't know what the hell you're talking about.
Harry: Oh, right, right, like Phoebe would ever be interested in a dirtball like you.
Phoebe: Harry -- Shane, stop it! Harry, be careful. Guys, come on, stop it! Stop it! Be careful. Harry! Harry -- wake up. Harry, Harry! Shane, let me explain.
Shane: No, no, no, you were using me. You were -- you were using me!
Phoebe: No, I wasn't. No, I wasn't -- no!
Shane: You were -- what, have I been horrible to you?
Hector: McGrath, let her go!
Phoebe: Stop it! Stop it, stop!
Hector: Phoebe? Phoebe!
