Nick: Hey, look up here to me. No doubts.

Bridget: None.

Nick: This feels right to you, hmm?

Bridget: Completely.

Nick: Fresh start?

Bridget: I promise, no more insecurities. No more complications.

Nick: Well, maybe one. You know, you got your roommate in there. You want me to talk to him?

Bridget: No, I'll do it.

Nick: I don't mind.

Bridget: I know that you don't, but he's been a good friend. I just want to let him down easy. I think he deserves that much.

Dante: Everything's got to be right. A perfect evening for a perfect woman.

Bridget: Oh, I don't know about that.

Dante: Oh, you're back. Well, good. Dinner's ready. Let me go get it.

Bridget: Oh, Dante, wait. There's just some things that we should talk about first.

Stephanie: You low-down snake. Slithering out of Brooke's bed and into hers.

Jackie: Pardon me?

Stephanie: No, pardon me, that I could ever possibly think something might change. That my husband --

Eric: Ex-husband.

Stephanie: That the father of my children could possibly keep control over his libido for more than one day.

Eric: Well, obviously, I can. It was practically nonexistent all the time.

Jackie: Oh, stop it, both of you. You're being ridiculous.

Stephanie: Yeah, no. This is what's ridiculous. To think that I came down here to try and work out some form of a compromise.

Eric: Compromise?

Stephanie: Yes, Eric. I'm not blind. I see what all of this is doing to the company. I don't want that, and I thought that you didn't want it, either. But obviously I was wrong. I thought we could negotiate something. You're not the least bit interested in this family or this company. The only thing you can't wait to do is to get into her panties.

Eric: I resent that.

Stephanie: Not half as much as I resent it.

Nick: Hey there.

Brooke: Hey. This is a surprise.

Nick: Well, I've actually been trying to track you down. I found out that you were here. I have some news.

Brooke: What is it?

Nick: Bridget and I are back together. No more doubts. No more questions. We're completely committed to the marriage, and committed to having this family. I just thought I should be the one to tell you that.

Stephanie: We might -- we might -- might just have been able to put this family and this company back together. But once more -- once more, your pathetic weakness for women gets in the way.

Eric: You want to put this company back together? Give it back to me.

Stephanie: No, it's my company now. And if you're going to behave this way, then it's going to stay that way.

Eric: You didn't come down here for a compromise.

[ Stephanie laughing ]

Stephanie: I know, I can hardly believe it myself.

Jackie: Eric, maybe you should listen to what Stephanie has to say.

Eric: No, no, not necessary. There is no compromise with Stephanie.

Stephanie: Not now.

Eric: Not ever. You only pretended to want to listen to my opinion in the early years. And later on, you even stopped pretending.

Stephanie: How could I pretend to hear you or listen to you when you were never there? You were always here, running my company. I raised the children.

Eric: That's exactly where you wanted to be.

Stephanie: You have no idea what I wanted.

Jackie: Okay, that's my cue to leave.

Eric: Jackie, you don't have to leave.

Jackie: Yes, I do. Really, you two need to be alone, and I don't want to be caught in the middle of a lover's quarrel.

Brooke: So, Bridget took you back?

Nick: Yeah. Kind of amazing, huh?

Brooke: No.

Nick: I really didn't think it would happen so soon.

Brooke: How?

Nick: Actually, it was her last pregnancy exam that turned out to be a problem. She has a weakened cervix, but the baby's fine. It just means that there's a bigger chance of miscarriage.

Brooke: Oh my god!

Nick: The doctor just said, you know, "take it easy, no stress, and her and the baby will be fine." But I was scared. You know, the thought of losing that little baby -- I just couldn't stand it. I think Bridget saw that. And everything that I've been saying to her -- she knows it's true.

Dante: Did something happen at your doctor's appointment?

Bridget: Yeah, I had a scare.

Dante: With the baby?

Bridget: Yeah, they thought it was really serious at first, but it turns out everything's going to be okay.

Dante: Oh, god -- see, I should have gone with you. You shouldn't have been there alone. It must have been pretty awful, huh?

Bridget: Well, I wasn't there alone.

Dante: Bridget, no, no.

Bridget: Nick and I decided --

Dante: Please, don't say anything, okay?

Bridget: He came to the appointment with me.

Dante: Whatever he told you, it's a lie.

Bridget: He said that he loves me.

Dante: He doesn't!

Bridget: And he loves our child.

Dante: He doesn't love you.

Bridget: I'm sorry, Dante.

Dante: You're going to be sorry if you take him back.

Bridget: He means it this time. He's committed to me.

Dante: You know what he's committed to? He's committed to ruining your life.

Bridget: Why are you being this way?

Dante: What do you expect me to do? Just sit back and watch you walk off a cliff?

Bridget: Maybe you're right. Maybe I'm having to take a huge leap of faith here, but at least it's one that I believe in.

Dante: It's a mistake. A mistake you're going to have to deal with for the rest of your life. The life of your child. Bridget, please, okay? Just take the time to think about this, all right? Think of everything that's already happened.

Bridget: I'm putting all of that behind me.

Dante: No, you do that by moving forward.

Bridget: I am moving forward. I am.

Eric: This is not a lover's quarrel.

Stephanie: Far from it.

Jackie: Oh, right. You both hate each other so much, you can't bear to ignore one another.

Eric: Believe me, I wish I could.

Jackie: And why can't you?

Eric: Because she -- well, she came barging into my office. I didn't barge into hers.

Stephanie: To talk business. I didn't expect to walk in on a love scene.

Jackie: Sounds like jealousy to me.

Stephanie: I am repulsed.

Jackie: Hmm. If you didn't have feelings for Eric, you wouldn't care.

Stephanie: The only thing I feel is disgust.

Jackie: Well, you know what they say about the thin line between love and hate.

Eric: That line was crossed a very long time ago.

Jackie: Oh, and yet here you both are, sparring like an old married couple.

Eric: What? You think I still love her after everything she's done?

Stephanie: After everything that I've done? What about what you've done?

Jackie: Listen to yourselves. Eric, what was I just saying? That there will always, always be something between you and Stephanie. You have a history together. You were married. You had children. You built a company. You built a life!

Eric: It's a life that neither of us wants anymore.

Jackie: Are you sure about that? I'll leave you both to answer that question.

Eric: Jackie! Jackie. You're wrong.

Jackie: Am I? Why are you both fighting so hard? Is it really about the company? Or is it something else?

Brooke: This is incredible.

Nick: Do you remember telling me once, something about light coming out of the darkness?

Brooke: Sometimes it takes a crisis to put things in perspective.

Nick: Yeah, well I think that's what happened.

Brooke: I'm happy for you both. Not that there was a scare about the baby. But you and Bridget found your way back to each other. And that's how it -- that's how it has to be.

Dante: I wont let you do this.

Bridget: I'm not expecting you to be happy for me. I'm just asking you.

Dante: I don't have to accept it! And neither should you.

Bridget: The father of my baby wants a life with me.

Dante: Because he can't have a life with your mother.

Bridget: Oh, I'm not going to listen to this.

Dante: The truth hurts, doesn't it?

Bridget: I am going to trust my husband.

Dante: Why? What did he tell you today that was different than any of the other times? What promise did he make to you that he hasn't already broken?

Bridget: He didn't have to say anything. It was just the look on his face. The look on Nick's face when the doctor said that we might lose the baby.

Dante: There's no doubt that he cares for the child. But does he love you?

Bridget: I already told you that he does.

Dante: As much as I do?

Bridget: Please, don't.

Dante: Bridget, open your eyes, okay? This was an incredible reunion? Right! You and Nick together. You know, getting together over the baby. He knows what's going on. He knows that you're vulnerable. He saw an opportunity and he took it.

Bridget: I needed him, and he was there.

Dante: Yeah. Was he there for you in the past? I have been there for you. And I'm still here, and I will always be there for you. And it doesn't matter if he's not my child. You know, it doesn't matter to me.

Bridget: She.

Dante: It's a girl?

Bridget: Yeah, we found out today.

Dante: That's wonderful, you know. And I'll look out for both of you.

Bridget: I know you would. I know you would, and thank you. You will never know how much it means to me, to know that you're there. But he's been trying so hard to convince me that he's committed to me.

Dante: If he is so committed to you, why do you need so much convincing?

Bridget: I don't. Not anymore.

Stephanie: Why are you always attracted to women that never know what the hell they're talking about?

Eric: I agree with you. It's the stupidest thing Jackie's ever said.

Stephanie: At last, something we can agree on.

Eric: We are not getting back together again like that, whatever happens.

Stephanie: Absolutely not. Like a few nice words from you, I'd walk out of here arm-in-arm and go with you for a martini or something?

Eric: Not if I was drunk already. Definitely not for one of your martinis.

Stephanie: What's wrong with my martinis?

Eric: Your martinis stink.

Stephanie: Well, your singing stinks. Like I'd ever volunteer for that torture again?

Eric: Why are we talking about this?

Stephanie: I don't know why we're talking at all.

Eric: Well, then, let's not.

Stephanie: Fine.

Eric: Look, you may not have anything better to do than to hang around my new office, but I'm very busy. Excuse me. In the future, if you have anything to say to me, you send Megan down here with a message.

Bridget: I never, ever meant to hurt you. You have been such a good friend to me, and I will never forget that.

Dante: Yeah, but you've already forgotten what he's done to you. But I haven't.

Bridget: Please don't make this any harder than it has to be.

Dante: I can't lose you. Okay, not like this. Not to him.

Bridget: I've already made my decision, Dante.

Dante: Nothing good will come from your involvement with this man.

Bridget: Something already has.

Dante: How do you expect your child to feel secure in a family if you don't?

Bridget: But I do.

Dante: Yeah, today. What about if one of these days you just go home and find Nick with your mother? Maybe not today, maybe next week. Maybe a month from now! What?

Bridget: I'm not going to overreact. I'm not going to throw my family into chaos because of some sort of -- I don't know, idle suspicion.

Dante: Suspicions that have been proven to be true in the past.

Bridget: Are you trying to make me doubt myself? I really, really don't appreciate it.

Dante: I am not trying to make you doubt anything. I want to give a life for you and the baby that is free of doubts and insecurities. Bridget, you say that Nick is committed to you, right? I've been committed to you. I always have, and I always will. I am here. I moved here, to this city, because of you. Because of you.

Bridget: I never asked you to do that.

Dante: You don't have to ask for a damn thing from me. And you never will, either. Because you've got everything right here.

Bridget: Except the father of my child. He's my husband. And I love him.

Dante: There's nothing else I can say, is there? You know what? I pray to god that I never have to say to you, "I told you so."

Nick: You want some more? No, I'm fine, thanks. Oh, I forgot, there's more news.

Brooke: What?

Nick: It's a girl. The baby -- she's a she.

Brooke: A little girl?

Nick: Yeah.

Brooke: A granddaughter? Nick, that's --

Nick: It didn't matter to me either way, obviously. I want a healthy child. But I think once you find that out, it does make it a bit more real.

Brooke: You and Bridget are going to have so much to look forward to. The birth. Bringing that little baby home from the hospital. Starting your life together.

Nick: Bridget back. A daughter. What more could I want, huh? I should go.

Brooke: Give Bridget my love.

Nick: Okay. Good-bye, Brooke.

Brooke: Good-bye, Nick.
