Bridget: Married? You and -- is this just some kind of bizarre joke?

Eric: No. Of course not.

Bridget: Well, Dad, you're already married to Stephanie! What are you talking about?

Eric: It took some doing, but I was able to divorce Stephanie without her knowing.

Brooke: Isn't it wonderful, sweetheart? It's what you've wanted for so long. Your mom and dad -- reunited.

[ Nick remembering ]

Bridget: Go be with my mother. You were attracted to her first and you're closer in age.

[ Bridget sighs ] She's the love of your life. And you still love her, so why don't you just go take her?

Jackie: Go and find Brooke. Talk to each other about your feelings, about what you both want -- what you deserve -- which is a life together. It's your chance, Nick. It is what you want -- what you deserve -- which is a life together. It's your chance, Nick.

Stephanie: Talk about an overactive imagination. For you to actually think that someone of Eric's stature would marry someone like you --

[ Stephanie laughs ] My god. Yes, hello. This is Stephanie Forrester. Hello. Is Jonathan in? I'd like to speak with him, please. Yes, it's urgent. My lawyer is going to fill you in on the facts of life, then you can cancel the glass slipper order. Oh, Jonathan. Hello. Jonathan, I'm here with a rather delusional woman in Eric's office who seems to believe that Eric has somehow obtained a divorce from me without my knowledge. So, hold on just a moment, I'm going to put you on the speaker phone.

Jonathan: Take me off speaker, Stephanie. I'd prefer to talk to you alone.

Stephanie: We can do that later. I'd like you to explain to her that, in the United States of America, a spouse cannot dump his wife in the middle of the night without legal notice. And speak in simple sentences and one syllable words so there won't be any misunderstandings. Thank you, Jonathan. Jonathan, are you there?

Jonathan: Stephanie. I tried to reach you a few minutes ago. I wanted you to hear it from me before it hit the media.

Stephanie: Hear what?

Jonathan: I've held your power of attorney for some time --

Stephanie: You haven't done something illegal, have you, Jonathan?

Jonathan: They're a little less strict about such matters in the Dominican Republic.

Stephanie: What are you saying?

Jackie: In simple, one syllable words, Jonathan.

Jonathan: I'm sorry, Stephanie. Eric has been granted his request for a divorce.

Bridget: Mother, what are you doing? The charade you tried to pull with Dante wasn't enough to make me realize that you were over Nick, so now you've roped dad into some sort of "reassure Bridget" dance?

Brooke: No!

Eric: Not at all, Bridget. Look, the last few weeks have been very, very difficult for your mother. And she's made a transformation of sorts, and it hasn't been easy. The things that life has thrown at her? Losing Ridge -- Hope almost dying -- the fear that maybe she's driven you into doing something unthinkable. It's been a crucible of sorts for her. And it hasn't defeated her. It has helped her realize that what she's been looking for all this time was a life with me.

Bridget: Well, why didn't she realize that before she divorced you, Dad? So, then, tell me mother. When did this great passion for dad make itself known to you?

Brooke: Honey, it's not about passion.

Bridget: Oh, you? It's not about -- mother, give me a break!

Brooke: No, it's not! It's about family!

Bridget: Oh, of course. Family. I should have known that, right?

Eric: All right. You stop now, Bridget. Stop for a minute. I learned a long time ago that happiness -- real happiness -- has to be about family. It can't just be about obsession and passion.

Bridget: So in the name of "family," you've committed yourself to dad?

Brooke: Completely.

Bridget: Well, I would love to hear you tell him how much you love him. Really, mother, I missed the vows. And I know for any great marriage of yours to work, you would have to be madly in love with him. Can you honestly look dad in the eye and tell him that you love him more than you love Nick?

Bridget: Why the hesitation, Mom? Are you afraid I'll know you're not telling the truth?

Brooke: I love you, Eric. Completely. And more than a life with nick or with anyone else, I want a life with you. Together, we can do amazing things. Rebuild our family. Take our company to new heights. Partners till the end.

Bridget: Partnership? Hmm. That's not how I've ever heard you describe love in the past.

Eric: Everything that has happened in your mother's life recently has had a profound effect on her. She's changed. She has started to see a deeper meaning in life. I understand that. Because I've been through that, too. Bridget, what's happening here -- what's happening here is real. Your mother is the love of my life. And I am the love of her's.

Eric: Bridget, I should think that you'd be happy about this. This is what you've wanted your whole life -- your mother and father back together again.

Bridget: Which only makes this all the more suspicious, Dad. Am I really supposed to believe that this union is -- it's inevitable? Are you supposed to believe that?

Brooke: As much as I want you to believe in me, Bridget -- it doesn't really matter whether you do or not. Because I know the man for me is Eric. I have a vision about our family and about our business -- I can see what the future holds for us.

Bridget: Well, we all know you've had your visions before, mother.

Brooke: No. This is different. That child that you're carrying -- that little baby is going to be born to two wonderful, loving parents. And nick, your husband, is going to be by your side.

Eric: And your mother and I will be there, too. The baby's grandparents. With all the love and support we can, we'll help you through whatever life has to offer.

Bridget: It sounds like a really pretty picture, Dad.

Eric: It's a beautiful picture, as a matter of fact. And it's real. I'll go home now. I'll leave you two to talk.

Brooke: All right. You are the kindest man ever. And now you're mine again.

Eric: I'll see you at the beach house, okay?

Brooke: Okay.

Eric: Bridget? Bye, honey.

Bridget: Bye, Dad. Mother, what the hell do you think you're doing? You're trying to make this up to me by using dad?

Brooke: No!

Bridget: You honestly think that I'm going to go back to Nick's bed, knowing that you still love him? I don't give a damn who you go and marry!

Brooke: My god. I hate what this is putting you through. And I hate the fact that I was playing a part in it. But, Bridget, don't blame Nick! Don't give up on your happiness. You are having a child with Nick, and you love him.

Bridget: So do you.

Brooke: No. I love your father. I woke up and I realized something. And I finally understand what I want. And what I really want out of life is a family. And a husband who can be there, and who can support me -- completely -- through everything! And that man is your father.

Bridget: You have no idea how much I wish that I could believe that. But we both know what's going on here, mother. You married dad because you feel guilty of what you've done with Nick. I know you really think that what you're doing here is right. But, Mom, come on. You're only deceiving yourself again. And now, not only have you already hurt me, but you're going to go and hurt dad as well. If you really believe that you are over nick, why didn't you figure that out weeks ago? See, I don't think you are.

[ Jackie sighs ]

Jackie: Eric? Eric?

[ Jackie gasps ] Oh, Eric.

[ Jackie sighs ]

Benjie: Mrs. Forrester? You are a naughty, naughty girl! You are early.

Jackie: Am I?

Benjie: And I am Benjie Lloyd -- caterer to the --

Jackie: I know exactly who you are. I have followed your career for a long time. I can't believe Eric got you to do this. I mean, you must be so busy --

Benjie: Well, a man of Mr. Forrester's reputation -- and, of course, the occasion --

Jackie: Yes. The place is certainly is set for romance.

[ Jackie giggles ]

Benjie: But it was supposed to be a big, big surprise. Mr. Forrester is going to be so disappointed.

Jackie: Oh, please. Please, don't worry. I will be surprised. I will be the most surprised I have ever been in my whole life.

Benjie: Good. Away. Have a magical evening.

Jackie: Thank you.

Benjie: I'm off!

Jackie: Oh, Eric. Champagne and caviar. And -- what is this? You wonderful, wonderful, spontaneous man.

[ Jackie laughs ] Oh, my word. Well, if it's a surprise you want this evening, darling -- you're going to get one. Just not what you're expecting.

[ Knocking on the door ]

Nick: Where's Bridget?

Brooke: She just left.

Nick: Is she okay?

Brooke: She's going to be all right now.

Nick: We never should have hurt her along the way.

Brooke: We can still make up for that.

Nick: And we will -- because I know the truth. I love you. I always have, and I always will. I want to be married to you.

Eric: Well. I can't believe Brooke beat me here. Well, hello. I wanted to be here -- I wanted to see the look on your face.

Jackie: Well, now you can.

Eric: Jackie.

Jackie: You said you had something important to tell me -- I'm sorry, I just couldn't wait. And I met Bbenjie Lloyd, the caterer, who said you'd done all this for me.

Eric: He said --

Jackie: Eric, it's beautiful! No one has ever done anything like this for me -- ever. I am going to remember tonight for the rest of my life.

Eric: No, Jackie. Look, about all this --

Jackie: Look at you, getting all shy. You don't need to, darling. I'm going to love you tonight. I'm going to love you tomorrow. I'm going to love you for the rest of our lives.

Eric: Jackie -- I can't --

Jackie: Oh, but you can. You've proved that to me, darling. Oh. You dear, sweet, sentimental man. You couldn't wait to wear the wedding band. Eric, I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you! I'm going to do everything in my power to make you the happiest man in the world. Oh, I love you.

Nick: We're not going to find happiness with other people. We should have known that from the beginning. We would have saved a lot of heartache. We were meant to be together -- married. Together.

Brooke: No wedding --

Nick: Fine. We don't need a wedding, we can elope. Anything.

Brooke: Nick.

Nick: No. It doesn't matter. Brooke -- we can be together the way we want to be together. I want to tell people that I love you. I want to stand there and profess my love. I want to put a ring on this finger -- what is that?

Brooke: It's a wedding band.

Nick: What wedding band?

Brooke: Last night -- Vegas. I had to do it for my daughter, and for her happiness, Nick.

Nick: What?

Brooke: Because of everything I've put her through, I had to do this.

Nick: What the hell are you talking about? Vegas? Whose ring is this?

Brooke: I got married last night -- to Eric.
