Brooke: Marry you?

Eric: Does that sound crazy to you? I'm not surprised to hear myself say it. We were happy when we were married. I swear, we could be happy like that again. I'll make it my life's mission to put a smile on that beautiful face of yours, and the faces of your children. If you'd let me. Will you let me, Brooke?

Nick: You know, I've tried to make sense of this. I really have. I've thought about it, but Stephanie seems like a bright woman. What pushes her to these extremes? I don't get it.

Bridget: Oh, sweetheart, you know. My mother does.

Nick: No, but this borderlines on craziness, Bridget. I mean, a bribe? A million dollar bribe to a doctor?

Bridget: She was desperate, I guess.

Nick: But he took the cash!

Bridget: He gave it back. You know, Mark knows what a huge mistake he made.

Nick: Oh, what does that mean? So all is forgiven?

Bridget: No. I don't know. Stephanie used him, too.

Nick: Well, don't expect me to feel sorry for either one of them. How many times can we piece this wedding back together?

Bridget: Honey, what happened to finding the silver lining?

Nick: Well, there isn't one. I've had it with your family. You know, getting married shouldn't be this hard.

Gaby: Thomas -- Thomas, give :˙ Me back my suitcase.

Thomas: No.

Gaby: I'm going to Phoenix, okay. I've got cousins I can stay with there.

Thomas: Whom you've never met.

Gaby: My mom sent a Christmas card. They'll want to help me.

Thomas: What can they do for you? They'd be harboring a fugitive.

Gaby: What other choice do I have, Thomas? I mean, look what I've done to you, and your relationship with your parents, you know? I've taken too much from you.

Thomas: Hey, you're giving more than you're taking. See? You have no idea how much that smile is worth to me. Now --

Gaby: Wait, what are you doing?

Thomas: You are my wife, and you're moving in with me.

Ridge: You want me to leave? Doc, this is our home.

Taylor: No. No, it's not. Until I know with all my heart that I have you completely, I can't keep living like this. I know you love me. I'm not questioning that love. But the fact is, you're still vulnerable to Brooke -- especially now that she's been so hurt by your mother. I just -- I feel as though I'm having to share my husband with another woman. And as long as there are three people in this marriage, I cannot be a part of it.

Brooke: It would be easy for me to place myself in your hands right now, 'cause you've always been there for me, supporting me and defending me. And I love you for that.

Eric: The best times in my life, I've spent with you.

Brooke: And I'll always cherish our friendship. I'll always cherish you.

Eric: But you can't marry me.

Brooke: You're reacting to what Stephanie did.

Eric: You think? But you -- you feel things so deeply, and you love -- you love so completely. I just -- I so need a taste of that in my life.

Brooke: And you will find that. You will. You deserve to be loved, to be cherished, to be appreciated. But right now, I need to make my own life. I need to stand up on my own. I'm through depending on men for my happiness.

Nick: You know, Bridget, I'd like to think that I'm as patient as the next guy. But, you know, we have tried to get married twice now.

Bridget: Well, three times if you count Vegas.

Nick: Stephanie's to blame, and Taylor's to blame -- I mean, who's not to blame? It's our fault for involving your crazy family in the first place.

Bridget: Sweetheart, I want to get married as much as you do. But I can't pretend that my family's not going through this crazy trauma.

Nick: Bridget, I'm sorry, but I don't give a damn about your family. They're the ones who are pulling us apart. It's got to stop. It's driving me crazy. It's got to stop now.

Dante: Test the water.

Nick: What's he doing here?

Bridget: Oh, well, he's -- he's staying here now.

Nick: He's staying here? Since when?

Bridget: Since I invited him to.

Eric: I'm impressed. You want to be your own person. Want to have your own purpose in life. I'm impressed. I'm disappointed, but I'm impressed.

Brooke: I'm glad you understand. But I still need to be close to you.

Eric: That'll never change.

Brooke: Good.

Eric: But, if it's purpose you want in your life, look no further than Forrester Creations.

Brooke: What do you mean?

Eric: I want you more involved in the business. You've been in the background far too long. I want you working beside me. I want you running the company with me. As co-CEO. What do you say?

[ Brooke laughs ]

Brooke: Co-CEO? I don't know. Wow! I don't know what to say.

Eric: I'll only take yes as an answer. We would be a team again.

Eric: Uh-huh. Probably see more of each other than we would if we were married. Look, I want you back in my life again. And we spend that time together, who knows? In the end, you'll end up proposing to me. What do you say?

Brooke: Well, you are a wonderful man. I'll do it.

Eric: Good. Consider it done. Partner.

Brooke: Partner.

Eric: Okay.

Ridge: When we renewed our vows, I meant the words I said.

Taylor: Then just start acting like it. You need to realize what we have together, Ridge.

Ridge: And forget about what Brooke and I had?

Taylor: No. I know that you will always share something special with Brooke.

Ridge: Because of our son.

Taylor: Yes. But we have children, too, Ridge. And I think you have been a wonderful father to all of them. But I need to know that I have you completely, with all your heart. And that's why I think you should take this time, when you go to New York for the fashion forum, and you need to think about our life together. I already packed your bag, and I called a car for you.

Ridge: I can't leave like this, Taylor. Not with Thomas in the mess that he's in. That marriage has to be annulled now. Not that I don't feel anything for Gaby, and understand why our son wants to help her. But this is not the right choice for him. I can't go, based on all this stuff right now.

Taylor: Ridge, please, don't worry about it. I'll handle Thomas completely. But you still need to do this for us. This is important to us. This is something I need, too, Ridge. And maybe when you come back, we can have the life we were meant to have. The one we used to have. Please. Please, Ridge, don't make this any harder than it is already.

Ridge: Oh, Taylor.

Taylor: I love you.

Ridge: And I love you.

Nick: You invited him to live here? Is that what you said? You invited him?

Bridget: Yes, yeah. Honey, if you will just take a minute to get to know him -- plus, my dad needs the beach house right now.

Nick: Well, hasn't Da vinci ever heard of a hotel? Or how about that country called Italy.

Bridget: He's exhibiting here right now.

Nick: No, he's here because of my old man's rich friends. There's no way he's staying here. There's no way.

Bridget: Don't you think that's up to my mother?

Nick: I think your mother is very vulnerable right now. Look at him over there with hope. I don't like that. Besides, he bad-mouths me to you.

Bridget: No, he doesn't.

Nick: He does.

Bridget: No, he doesn't. I wouldn't stand for that. Look, he is my friend, and I would appreciate it if you would just be nice. I've got to go. Dr. Bricker at university's only got half an hour to discuss my internship. All right?

Brooke: Wow. What a gathering.

Bridget: Oh, hey, mom.

Hope: Swim with me, mommy!

Brooke: Oh, honey, I would love to. Just as soon as I pick up your brother, okay?

Hope: Okay.

Brooke: R.J.'s at a play date.

Dante: Don't worry, Brooke. I've got it covered.

Nick: I've got it covered.

Dante: You see? Two men wanting to be with Hope. Such is her fate.

Nick: I'll take care of her.

Brooke: Thank you.

Nick: My pleasure.

Brooke: Now, listen to Uncle Nick and Dante. Okay?

Hope: Okay, mommy.

Brooke: Good girl. Keep a close eye on her. She goes in the Jacuzzi, make sure the water is the same as bath water temperature. And remember, water wings aren't the same as a life jacket.

Nick: I understand. I got it handled.

Bridget: I'll follow you out, mom, okay? Listen, we'll finish our conversation later, okay?

Nick: Okay.

Bridget: Bye, sweet girl.

Gaby: Your dad's gonna freak. Don't you think you should've at least talked to him before you did something like this?

Thomas: No, no. There's no time. Agent Dunn called earlier, and he's on his way over.

Gaby: What? Now? Why didn't you tell me?

Thomas: Because you would have bolted. But now, you're settled in, right?

Gaby: Your dad's gonna freak. Your dad's gonna freak.

Thomas: No, no, no, no. My mom has a way with him. If we can just convince her that we have a fighting chance --

Taylor: Convince me of what?

Thomas: Agent Dunn is on his way over right now, and we need you to help convince him that Gaby's living here, and our marriage is real.

Nick: There you go. Those are on pretty good, aren't they? Look at me. Look at uncle nick. Here we go. There. Why don't you tell me what you're doing here?

Dante: I'm living here. Bridget didn't tell you?

Hope: Can I go swimming now?

Nick: Oh, yeah. Let's put you in the Jacuzzi, okay? All righty. Come on. Up here.

Hope: Put the bubbles on, Uncle Nick.

Nick: Oh, okay. All right, you wait there. There we are. Okay, ready? All right. Now, we got to be careful, 'cause it's really slippery down there. Ah. That feel good? Yeah. That a girl.

Hope: Watch how long I can hold my breath.

Nick: Okay, I'll watch.

Hope: I counted to three.

Nick: You haven't answered me why you're here. Wouldn't have anything to do with what the Forrester family's worth, would it?

Dante: Oh, I know what Bridget is worth, but I'm not sure you do.

Nick: Hey, I don't defend myself to liars.

Dante: I know. It's very hard to look in the mirror, isn't it?

Hope: Watch me, Uuncle Nick. Five seconds.

Nick: My gosh. Clean your eyes out. There you go. You were so good. You're like a mermaid. A pretty little mermaid.

Hope: I'm gonna go for longer.

Nick: You're a piece of work, you know that? The way you sell yourself to my old man's friends, your dialogue to my fiancÚ. You're a troublemaker. You want to cause trouble for Bridget and me.

Dante: Yeah, I see how you would see it that way.

Nick: You can't deny it, can you?

Dante: No, you're the one who's in denial. Another man who's got a thing for Bridget's mother.

Nick: Brooke is a friend of mine. Only a friend.

Dante: Well, Bridget is a friend of mine. You watch out for your friends, I protect mine.

Hope: Uncle Nick, did you see that?

Nick: I'm watching, honey. I'm right here watching.

Taylor: No, no. Absolutely, not. That is out of the question.

Thomas: But if agent Dunn doesn't think Gaby lives here, she could be deported.

Taylor: Thomas, listen. I appreciate your commitment to Gaby. But as much as you want to help her, and believe me, we all want to -- you can't do this. You can't just decide how you want life to be. Life doesn't work like that.

Thomas: Yes. Yes, it does. If it's right, it's right. And I'm gonna fight for it.

Taylor: What exactly do you expect me to say to Agent Dunn?

Thomas: Just tell him that you had your questions, too. But now you know this marriage is real, and you support it.

Taylor: In other words, you're asking me to lie. I don't lie. I don't do that, ever. You know how I feel about that.

Thomas: If bending the truth helps Helen's dreams for Gaby come true, then we've got to do it. We have to.

[ Doorbell rings ] I'll get it.

Dunn: Thomas. Gabriela. Mrs. Forrester. Well, I'm glad everyone's here.

Thomas: Of course we are. My wife and I live here.

Dunn: Really? Is that true, Mrs. Forrester?

Nick: None of this is any of your business.

Dante: You've been trying to get married with Bridget how many times? And you're still not married. Maybe you should listen to that voice, you know, screaming in your head, that you're still in love with Brooke and her children. I just don't want Bridget to be hurt again.

Nick: Well, maybe if you stay away from her, she won't be.

Dante: I'm not going anywhere, unless Brooke wants me to. But she won't. I'll be back in a bit. Got to burn some steam, you know what I mean?

Nick: Hope!
