Bridget: Nick.

Dante: What, do I smell like beer and cigars?

Bridget: Dante? Oh, my god! Oh, my god! What have we done?

Jackie: Oh, Massimo.

Massimo: Yes.

Jackie: Come in. Good morning. I was just about to put on some tea. Would you like some?

Massimo: I have to get to the office.

Jackie: Oh, well, if this isn't a social call, what --

Massimo: I looked into Dr. Macclaine's bank account, so I wouldn't have to hear anymore of your preposterous accusations against Stephanie.

Jackie: Did you find anything?

Massimo: A customer's account information is highly confidential, Jacqueline.

Jackie: I wasn't asking for anything other than to know if there had been any strange activity, any exorbitant deposits -- there was, wasn't there?

Massimo: Apparently, there was a recent transfer.

Jackie: How much?

Massimo: $1 million, from a Swiss bank account.

Jackie: Oh, I knew it! I knew it! Stephanie bribed him.

Massimo: Don't get ahead of yourself.

Jackie: I -- from the moment of her so-called "miraculous recovery," I knew it wasn't a miraculous recovery! It was a scam! She paid him to -- come on, Massimo. You can't still have any doubts. It is so obvious! Where would he get $1 million?

Massimo: That money could have come from any number of sources.

Jackie: Oh, such as?

Massimo: Such as pharmaceutical companies, research.

Jackie: Oh, please.

Massimo: No, no, no "please." Doctors get huge sums from medical patents --

Jackie: Not from unidentified bank accounts.

Massimo: I agree it's suspect.

Jackie: Suspect? It is illegal. Stephanie bribed Dr. Macclaine.

Massimo: Listen to me. Listen. I may not know how Dr. Macclaine came into this money, all right? But I do know Stephanie forrester. And a woman with her integrity would never go to these lengths, certainly not worry her family the way she did, okay? Just to get ridge and Taylor together.

Jackie: But she would do anything to get rid of Brooke, and she has.

Massimo: You are grasping, Jacqueline. Let it go.

Jackie: But don't you see that --

Massimo: Let it go.

Jackie: I can't, Massimo. I can't let it go until you see Stephanie for what she really is.

Stephanie: Nick.

Nick: Bridget here?

Stephanie: No.

Nick: Was she here?

Stephanie: Have you lost your fiancÚ?

Nick: She didn't spend the night with me. She wasn't at her mother's. I just thought maybe she was --

Stephanie: Did you call her cell?

Nick: Of course.

Stephanie: Well, then where was the last place you actually saw her?

Nick: Last night at Brooke's. She left a note saying that she was driving a friend home. I gotta go.

Bridget: Oh, my goodness. We -- we didn't --

Dante: No, we didn't. Would that be so terrible?

[ Bridget sighs ] Look --

Bridget: Thank goodness.

Dante: A beautiful night, nonetheless. Lying next to you.

Bridget: I should not be here. I should be with nick. I'm sure he's worried sick about me.

Dante: He should be after what he did to you last night. Remember how you found Nick and your mother cuddling in bed with Hope? I'm sorry you had to see that, but I'm glad it brought you to me.

Bridget: Please, Dante --

Dante: Listen, listen to me. There's a reason why you came here last night -- because I don't have a history with your mother, like some other man. I just want to help you with all this confusion.

Bridget: I'm not confused.

Dante: Well, not anymore -- not after last night. Bridget, listen -- forget about Nick, all right? Forget about this. Come back with me, to Rome, where we had such a wonderful time. Remember? And I promise you, you'll never look back.

[ Doorbell rings ]

Jackie: Oh, my. Aren't I the popular girl this morning? Oh.

Stephanie: I'll be down shortly, James. Thank you.

Jackie: I must say, Stephanie, your progress is nothing short of miraculous. And you look like a million bucks.

Stephanie: And you look like a $10 tart.

Jackie: Okay, I didn't invite you in here to be insulted.

Stephanie: It isn't your place to invite me. It's not your home.

Jackie: I'm still married to Massimo.

Stephanie: Not for long.

Jackie: Oh, is that so?

Stephanie: Yes. I take every opportunity I can find to remind him how much more wonderful his life is without you in it.

Jackie: You, meddle in somebody's else's marriage? I can't imagine.

Stephanie: Hmm, you must be speaking of Brooke. She and Ridge were never legally married, and they never will be.

Jackie: Hmm. And don't you just love rubbing that in that poor girl's face.

Brooke: You've become very good friends with her recently.

Jackie: We've always been friends.

Stephanie: More like partners in crime.

Jackie: What a fascinating choice of words.

Stephanie: You know what I find interesting about all that? The last time I saw Brooke, I knew she was up to something.

Jackie: And you think I have something to do with it?

Stephanie: I think -- I think that if you wanted to be a genuine friend to her, you would help her to find closure and move on.

Jackie: Easy as that?

Stephanie: No, it's not easy, but it is inevitable. Ridge is with Taylor, where he belongs, and where he's going to stay.

Jackie: That is your opinion.

Stephanie: And everyone's opinion but yours. You know, you and Brooke are very much alike -- needy, selfish. That's why the two of you have ended up alone, cast out from the families that you claimed to love. And that is, I hope, where you will remain.

Jackie: We'll see about that.

Stephanie: Word to the wise -- stay away from my family, my home and my business. I have zero tolerance for sluts and parasites.

Bridget: Look, I'm sorry. I don't need a white knight just coming to my rescue right now.

Dante: I don't want you to go through any more pain. Listen, I know you're going through a lot right now. Sometimes it helps, you know, to put some distance, you know?

Bridget: I don't want to forget about Nick. I can't. I -- I'm in love with him.

Dante: This man is putting your mother's needs before yours.

[ Bridget sighs ] I mean, you found him in bed with her last night. Do you remember that?

Bridget: I know. Yes, I know, but I think --

Dante: What, it wasn't what it seemed? What are you talking about?

Bridget: I was very emotional last night, obviously.

Dante: You were devastated. You saw something between them.

Bridget: Yeah, I saw something, but I -- I think I just overreacted. Nick was just reassuring Hope, and that's part of why I think he's so amazing. The way he is with kids and --

Dante: Wait. Listen. Stop making excuses for nick here. Nick knows you have issues with men who have been with your mother. And yet, he has no problem putting your mother and her daughter first, when you should be the only one. You know what? As of this moment, you are done with this man.

Bridget: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What are you doing?

Dante: I'm rescuing you from your mother's shadow. No more eating of leftovers. You can start nibbling on me.

Bridget: You are so bad.

Dante: Yeah, but you love it. Come on, Bridget. Run away with me, right now.

Nick: Get away from my fiancÚ.

Dante: Ex fiance.

Nick: What are you doing here?

Bridget: I just -- I slept here, that's all.

Nick: You what?

Dante: You have some nerve giving her the third degree after what you did last night.

Nick: What's he talking about?

Dante: You don't have a clue?

Nick: Shut up! Bridget -- explain this.

Bridget: I just -- I saw something that I -- I saw you -- I saw you with --

Nick: What did you see? Tell me. What did you see?

Bridget: I saw you and my mom in -- in bed.

Nick: But I was there for Hope.

Bridget: I know, but I saw the way that you were looking at each other, and I know you may not have even realized it. I understand that. But I just -- I couldn't -- I couldn't hear it, and I just left. I came here because I --

Nick: Now, this has got to end. This all has to end, now. This ring -- this ring is never coming off your finger again. You got that?

Bridget: Are you saying that --

Nick: I'm saying that we are getting married, no more waiting, no more delays. If we'd had done it when we wanted to, none of this would have ever happened. Bridget, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. My feelings for you haven't changed. And that's coming from a man who's talking from his heart. Now, your father said we could use the house for the wedding, right?

Bridget: Yeah, but --

Nick: No buts. Nothing's getting in our way -- nothing, and no one. Listen, we gotta rise above this. I'm not gonna wait one more second. I want to make you my wife, tonight.

Jackie: A point of clarification -- which one would I be, the slut or the parasite?

Stephanie: Check both boxes.

[ Jackie scoffs ]

[ Phone rings ]

Jackie: Hello.

Mark: Hi, it's Dr. Macclaine.

Jackie: Oh. Hello, I've been waiting for you to call.

Mark: Well, it's been one of those days.

Jackie: Really, already? It's only --

Mark: Jackie, I -- I may not be able to come by after all.

Jackie: No. No please, I really need to see you. I mean, so much was left unsaid last night. Five minutes, that's all I ask. Don't disappoint me.

Stephanie: Another frequent flier on your little airline of love?

Jackie: This one happens to be very, very special.

Stephanie: Aren't they all? And you really think that Mas is going to take you back?

Jackie: You know what, Stephanie? Not everyone can be as noble as you. I mean, nearly dying to save your family, clinging to life in that hospital bed while Ridge renewed his vows with Taylor.

Stephanie: I'll do anything for my husband and children. You on the other hand --

Jackie: What about me?

Stephanie: Well, you realize you have truly alienated Massimo, with all this philandering and manipulation. And everything that you've done hasn't been easy for nick either.

Jackie: You listen to me. Nicky is my son, he is my family, and everything I've done in my whole life has been for him.

Stephanie: Well, maybe that explains why you ended up here, alone in this great big old empty penthouse. Oh, no, I forgot, you're not alone. There's a big, strong muscle man coming over. And then there's always your bosom buddy, Brooke. No, no, I forgot, you have a very fulfilling life.

Jackie: Okay, that's it. That is it. Get out. Take your stick. Get out.

Stephanie: I'm just leaving. Remember one thing though -- you reap what you sow.

Jackie: Indeed you do, Stephanie. Indeed you do.

[ Phone ringing ]

Stephanie: Hello.

Nick: Stephanie, it's nick.

Stephanie: Did you find her?

Nick: She's fine.

Stephanie: Good.

Nick: I'd like to talk to Eric. Is he there?

Stephanie: No, actually he isn't.

Nick: He said we could use your house for our wedding.

Stephanie: Well, the offer still stands, then.

Nick: Are you up for pulling a wedding together?

Stephanie: If you two are really determined to move forward, yes.

Nick: Tonight.

Stephanie: What's the rush, Nick?

Nick: If it's too last minute for you --

Stephanie: No, that's not the point. I can take care of everything.

Nick: Thanks.

Bridget: Are you sure about this?

Dante: Better question is -- are you sure, Bridget? 'Cause I understand why he wants to rush into this wedding. He hit jackpot. But you -- you're so young. You have so many other options. I mean, don't rush into this.

Nick: Consider your invitation lost in the mail.

Bridget: All right, guys. Please.

Nick: Come here. I screwed up last night. I should have realized, and I didn't. But when I proposed to you, I made a vow to pledge my life to you. And all this wedding stuff -- that's just to make it legal in the eyes of the law. But in my eyes, and in my heart, when you accepted that ring, when you accepted my proposal, that's when we became one. All I can tell you is, I promise, I'll never hurt you again. Let's do it. Let's get this wedding over with so we can start working on what we're good at. Huh?

Bridget: It sounds perfect.

Nick: It will be perfect. I'll make sure of that.

Jackie: Oh, Mark. You know, you really shouldn't have.

Mark: It's my way of apologizing.

Jackie: What on earth for?

Mark: I don't think we should see each other anymore.

Jackie: Oh. But we've been having such a lovely time.

[ Jackie sighs ] Oh, damn, I ruined it all with all of that talk of Stephanie Forrester. Okay, I am the one that should be apologizing to you. But we can't lose our friendship, not over something so trifling. We have so many more interesting things we could discuss. Don't you think, doctor?

Mark: I have enjoyed your company.

Jackie: Why don't you let me make it up to you? You said that you like Mexican food. So do I. Enchiladas, and salsa, and anything hot really.

Mark: Hot.

Jackie: I know. Why don't you come here tonight and we can have our own private fiesta. You bring the tacos and I will supply the tequila. Do we have a date?

Mark: You're hard to resist Mrs. -- Jackie.

Jackie: Jackie. That's what I like to hear.

[ Pager beeps ]

Mark: I'm sorry.

Jackie: Oh no, I understand. And Mark, do me a favor. Leave that little contraption at home tonight. 'Cause I don't want anything to disturb us. Okay, Stephanie. You can enjoy your precious family, while you still can. Because, once I expose you for the lying hypocrite you really are. You're the one who will be all alone.
